8. Bandurrias de Pirque Group
• For more tan 30 years in the state “Las Bandurrias de Pirque”, about 100 100 hectares on the Maipo Valley (central
valley), sold its production of high quality becket grape to the some of the largest wineries in Chile, such as Concha
y Toro or Santa Rita. The wines produced with our grapes have won over 180 prizes in contests all over the world.
• In 2011, Gabriel Barros with his children Sebastián and Agustín decided to keep the best grapes to produce a
Reserve Wine. Thus arises the winery under the name of Barros Pirque, that in 2012 is renamed as Terra Chile S.A.
for the purpose of an international expansion.
• Nowardays the firm is producing four types of wines. In red wines it has Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and in
whites it has Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonay, and additionally in the young line it has Red, White and Rosé. They
are grouped in different brands of the company, which are: El Tejado, 4 Ases, Barros Pirque, Terra Chile, Casas del
Maipo, Romeral Chile, Portón del Maipo and Altillo.

13. Our Winery
Traditionally to distinguish a good wine, it should study the origin of the
grapes. Our vines are over 30 years old and were planted on land extremely
specific in terms of features for the development of each of our strains. That is
why today we are confident that our product meets the most demanding
palates.

14. About the Maipo Valley
Maipo Valley
• Our production is done in the heart of Maipo Valley. Which is the most
traditional valley for production of wine in Chile. And the wines are
processed in the VIIº Region. In this valley there are over 3000 hectares
with beckets from the best strains such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon,
Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Carménère. The land of the valley sets
a perfect condition for the production of some of the best wines in Chile.
• The main characteristics of this valley are the high variation in
temperatures during a day that can overpass 20ºC (30º-10º in one day), the
breeze from the Pacific sea and the winds coming from the Andes. The
valley is relatively free of diseases that affect European Wineries, therefore
our wines have low levels of herbicide.
• Some well known wineries of the valley are Viña Santa Carolina, Viña
Cousiño Macul, Viña Concha y Toro, Viña Santa Rita, Viña Portal del Alto,
Viña Tarapacá, Viña Santa Ines de Martino. 14

16. Environmental Commitment
• In our process of development as a global company, we seek to
achieve efficiency in our process, keeping international standards
of sustentability in our operations.
• This year as a company changed our bottles to Ecoglass level 2, a
bottle that is much more eco-friendly, because it has less glass
(from 850gr. to 420gr.) that generates less emissions of carbin in its
transport.
• Besides that, we are in process of control of our dioxide emissions
in order to become a company that genertes zero emissions to the
atmosphere. This is our first step to develope the international
certification ISO 14001.

18. Winemaker team
• The winery has its own winemaket team leaded by
Sebastian Barros Solar, General Manager of the
winery.
• To certificate the quality of our products we are
planning to develope ISO 9001 and also we are
sending our products to all international wine
competitions (see next two slides to see our stand in
wine fairs).
