Kate and Sumaya created a magazine called "Tune" to emulate the style of popular R&B music magazines like Vibe. Their layout mirrors Vibe's conventions - with the masthead at the top, model positioned prominently on the cover, and barcode at the bottom. While maintaining these realistic elements, Tune also challenges stereotypes by depicting the model smiling on the contents page rather than with a serious expression. The magazine represents its target audience of R&B listeners through the models' fashionable attire, hairstyles, and confident poses that align with the genre's culture.

The masthead in the example and in our
magazine are in the same position, on the top
of the page. This is to keep in line with the
codes and conventions used in magazine
layout.
The reason why the masthead is at the top is to capture my intended
audience as it is the first thing they will see, so I have to make it eye-
catching. I have my model in front of the masthead just like the ‘VIBE’
because; it is to show the importance of the model, and to keep in place
the conventional layout of magazines also; this shows that this magazine
is easily recognizable as you can only see 2 letters.

we have to apply this)
