HMS (Hind Mazdoor Sabha) is a Hindi name meaning "Workers Assembly of India". It was founded in Howrah, West Bengal in 1948 and is the third largest trade union federation in India affiliated with the International Trade Union Confederation. HMS has objectives of upholding democratic values and forming an egalitarian society through independent and free trade unions. It had a membership of over 3.3 million workers in 2002, representing 13% of total trade union membership in India.
