2. FRONT COVER IMAGES
The Front Cover Image of my magazine will be a cover star, that takes up the majority of the
page. My cover star will be one of my friends called Megan. She will be dressed in a blue skater
skirt with a white top and black blazer. Her hair will be down and wavy, with a black hat that she
will wear. She will have red lipstick and black eyeliner for her makeup so it links in with the
genres. The Props that she will use will be a guitar as it links to the acoustic side of my music
magazine as the genre of my magazine is mixed as it is Jazz, Blues&Soul and Acoustic. The
background Behind the cover star will be a gradient colour s of Blue and white, as they are my
main colour scheme. The photograph will be cut by using tools so I can then change the
background instead of actually having a background to the image as I would have a gradient
background. The shot of this photograph would be either a midshot or a medium close-up and
would also be directly looking at the camera. I will also have a mini image on the front cover of
the singer Lucy to show that she is an exclusive involved in this magazine. The photograph of
Lucy on the front cover will be a photograph of her looking away towards something else and
leaning on something, the shot of this would be a medium close up or a photograph of her sat
on some steps looking directly at the camera, but the shot would be also a medium close-up.
3. COVERLINES FOR MY FRONT COVER
On the front cover of my music magazine there will be a range of cover lines linking
to my magazine. The text that they will be in is Disco Night and the size of the cover
lines would be around the size 24 as it is an appropriate size for the cover lines as
they won‟t be too big or too small, there will also be a main cover line that will link
to the main image on this page. I would have design features on my front cover, I
would have above the cover line „Lucy Barlow‟ there would be a style box that
“Exclusive Interview”. I would also do it for the rest of the features but with
"Features” with the list of features underneath. The font for this would be in Century
Gothic and in the colour Dark Blue, the box that it is in would be in orange. The
skyline, Border, and puff will be in the font snow dream too.

4. TEXT FOR CONTENTS PAGE.
On my contents page the text that will be involved would be the names of the pages with the
numbers next to it so it shows which page to go to, and the text would be inCentury Gothic as it
is easily read and the size would be 10 as it is not too big and is not too small. The layout of the
contents page would be in columns as it is a code and convention for a contents page of
magazines. I would have 3 columns for my contents page so the article titles are easily read, as
they are spread out but with not too much blank space, and also the columns will make the page
look neater.
Headings that are on my contents page:
Regular Content and exclusive content that would also be in Century Gothic but would be in bold and
italic with the font size as 12 so the heading stands out above the actual titles of articles then
underneath would be a little bit of information about the page in a smaller text so the titles stand out
more, and also the text would be in Blue as my house style of my magazine is white, blue and orange
but the page numbers will be in orange. The regular title and exclusive would have a design feature in a
box so it stands out to where they are for the regular and exclusive content. The box would have an
orange background to it.
The title “Contents” on this page would be in Snow dream font so it links with my masthead of the actual
magazine as my masthead will also be in that style and the colour of this heading would be a light blue
as it links in with the house style.
The other text that would be on my contents page is the Issue Information and the website these will also be
in the font Century Gothic. This text would also be in blue font.

6. PHOTOGRAPH PLANNING
For my photographs for my contents page and double page spread article. I am
arranging to meet up with a singer called Lucy Barlow to do a photo shoot with her.
I am planning to meet her in the Trafford Centre as it is quite a big area to do a
photo shoot so I can get a range of different photographs for my music magazine
with different shots. The outfit that she is going to be wearing for the day that I am
going to photograph her is a Sailors Dress with some black heels and a blue ribbon
in her hair, the dress is the style of the music that she does, so it links into her
music. I decided to have her in her sailors dress for this photo shoot as in the
Trafford Centre there is the food hall that is shaped as a Boat so it would look good
for the mise en scene for the music magazine, as it links with her outfit but for the
photographs when she is performing her outfit will be different and the location will
be different as it is in one of the places that she performs.
7. IMAGES I WILL NEED FOR MY CONTENTS PAGE
The images that I will need for my contents page will be ones that link into my magazine titles. I
would have a range of different images so there is a range of text and images. As I wouldn‟t want
my magazine to be just text as it wouldn‟t stand out as much as it should as the images make
the magazine look a lot more attractive and eye-catching. The photographs that I will need for
my contents page is two of the singer that I am going to be doing a photo shoot with and taking
photos of her singing. As I would also be interviewing her for my double page spread. The
images that I will need to take of Lucy for my contents page is a photo of her performing but the
shot would be an over shoulder shot, so I could get some of the audience in the photograph that
I have took as she is performing .I would also use a photograph of her on some steps with a
guitar, the photograph would be a medium long shot. Another image I would need is a
photograph of a guitar for instruments that are involved in this genre of music, and I would also
need the guitar for another Image so it is a different photograph on this page as there will be
some of Lucy but then there will be a range of different Images on my contents page. Another
Image that I would need is a photograph of a keyboard for a design feature to put the letters
contents on the keys.
8. DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD ARTICLE AND IMAGES
The double page spread for my music magazine would be an interview with the singer that I will
be taking photographs of for my magazine. I would ask the singer a range of different questions
about her singing career to put into my magazine interview as I would want to find out about her
and also the audience of my magazine would like to know about her, and would have an opening
paragraph about the singer. The colour scheme for my double page spread would be blue and
white as they are my main colours for my music Magazine. The title of the page would also be in
the font snow dream, as my Cover page and contents page are in that font, so they all link
together. The font for the actual article would be in dark blue and would be in Century Gothic as
this is the font that is part of the house style so there Is just one main font instead of different
fonts. I would also have a Feature first paragraph with a drop capital at the start of the opening
paragraph. The images that I would need for my double page spread article is photographs of
the singer that will be interviewed as it will link into the article that will be written about the
singer. The photographs that I want for the double page spread article are photographs of her
Singing with another over shoulder shot. Another Image that I would use for the double page
spread article would be the location where I am going to be doing a photo shoot where there is a
range of photos that I can photograph, I would want quite a few photographs of Lucy for this
page to show her to the audience of my music magazine and also in my questionnaire some
people said that they would like to see more images on these types of pages. I would take a
variety of shots for this page so I can decide on the best photographs and try different places to
photograph Lucy, so there is a range of different photographs of her to make the page a lot more
eye-catchingand also so there isn‟t a lot of blank space on the page. The design feature for this
page would be some microphones going around the page like a border, the microphones would
be in black.
