In the historical past and present Volhyni, an important place is occupied by the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God - one of the oldest architectural monuments of the region. Its beginnings date back to the days of the Galicia-Volyn state and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

Jarovitsky.
• In the XVIII century. the temple was
in the possession of Greek Catholics.
Pope Pius VI gave this church the
privilege of indulgence.
• After the Third Partition of the
Commonwealth, it was selected from
the Greek Catholics and remained
vacant until 1803.
8. • From 1854 to 1880 remained in
the status of a cathedral temple.
• The modern appearance of the
church was formed after its
partial reconstruction, carried
out in 1873-1876.
• In the early twentieth century.
there was a school at the church,
as well as the remains of the old
cemetery.

Orthodox church built in
Lutsk since princely times and
has almost ceased its activity
as a cult building for a long
period.
11. • One of the ancient icons kept in
the Church of the Intercession is
the icon of Our Lady of Volyn.
It was written at the turn of the
XIII-XIV centuries. in the iconic
workshop in Lutsk.
• In 1962 the icon was restored in
the workshops of the State
Russian Museum, and is now
stored in the National Art
Museum of Ukraine in Kiev.

Intercession that a Lutsk
Orthodox spiritual board
had been housed in a
detached house since 1798.
13. • Metropolitan of Lutsk and Volyn
Bishop Nifont became the real patron
saint of the temple and Volyn land.
Through her gracious deeds and
spiritual precepts, Lord Nifont has
since 2000 succeeded in turning the
church into an outpost of Orthodox
Christians, many of whom received
healing from their souls within the
walls of the cathedral.
