The document provides feedback on mockups for the front cover, contents pages, and double page spreads of a music magazine. 2. FRONT COVER
My favorite mock up is the first one because it looks much more like a music magazine front cover. It has lots of
character. The other two aren’t as great because they do not look like they are definitely for a music magazine. The
font on the middle on is difficult to read and the masthead doesn’t stand out very much. Where as on the final one
the writing does stand out and the use of a model staring straight at the camera makes it more personal. Both the
close ups do work but may be better as a contents page.

3. CONTENTS PAGES
My favorite mock up for the contents page was the one with the wall in the background; this is because the use of
cutting out the background makes it look a little slapdash and shabby and it isn’t very professional. However, the use
of the plain backgrounds makes the audience drawn more to the content of what is written there, where as, with the
one with the wall the pattern of the bricks takes the focus away and makes it look rather busy. The Heading doesn’t
stand out as much on the brick wall either.

4. DOUBLE PAGE SPREADS
My favorite mock up for the double page spread was the final one with the black background and sepia
photographs. This is because it ties into my indie-country genre with the sepia colour as its country. I think the use of
the other main photograph looks better because it makes it look less staged and adds character. The black
background also links the models outfits with the magazine and makes it easy to write on. The use of the little
photographs shows the band in more than one way and links the two pages together; also the use of changing the
colors of the heading ties the two pages together as it shows continuity.
