Assignment objective:
1. To gain an understanding of audience likes / dislikes in adverts
generally
The task:
Find out: what do people like and dislike about adverts generally? What
makes for a good / memorable advert?
What you need to do:
Audience research – likes & dislikes in TV adverts –
• You need to find out what actual audiences like and dislike in adverts
To do this you need to:
• Choose one research method to do this and then work out how best to
get the information from your research participants
• You should plan what you are going to do in lesson time
• Before carrying out the research, consider for yourself about what
kinds of advert you like and dislike and what makes for a memorable
advert
• Carry out the research outside of lesson time this week
• Post details of your results AND a short written discussion of what
research method you chose and why you chose it and what the
advantages and disadvantages of using that method have been
• You also need to discuss what the impact of your research findings will
be on to your work – how far do you need to change your ideas?
• You are required to submit some evidence that the research has
actually taken place – photo’s or video from focus group posted onto
blog or completed questionnaires scanned as jpg image files and
posted onto blog
