Three Point Technique to Estimate Task Duration, Es-Ef,...
The total duration of the construction project by adding the estimated task duration serially would give
us 70 weeks. But some tasks within some activities can be done in parallel sequence or
simultaneously, which would significantly reduce the construction project completion time using the
critical path method (CPM). In this method the longest path is the critical path which runs through one
of the route in the project network diagram from start to finish. This project network diagram is
illustrated on the printed assignment page, we have 10 tasks listed from A to J. Below is an activity list
of the tasks; ACTIVITY | ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION | IMMEDIATE PREDECESSORS |

The completion time for the project would slightly increase adding the 3 weeks delay of task B to the
70 weeks estimated time for the project to 73 weeks, while the earliest finish time using the critical
path method (CPM) the task duration estimates for the project completion would increase from 39
weeks to 41 weeks.
CRITICAL PATH TASKS | PATH LENTHS IN WEEKS | 1. start: A B E H J finish | 7 + 14+ 11+ 2+ 8

Specific Heat and Latent Heat
Objectives:
The purpose of this lab was to determine the specific heat of a metal as well as the heat of fusion of
ice.
Apparatus: The equipment used in the experiment include: metal cylinder, beaker, triple beam balance,
Styrofoam cup, thermometer and a hot plate.
Theory
The energy required to increase the temperature of 1kg of a substance by 1K is referred to as specific
heat, whose SI unit is J/ (kg. K). The specific heat of water, CH2O is 1.000cal / (g. OC) which
equivalent to 4186 J / (kg. K). Consider a cup with mass m, holding water of mass mH2O with initial
temperature of Ti. When a hot metal block of mass ms at 1000C is ... Show more content on

The ice was added continuously until the temperature of the water bath dropped to 100C. The final
temperature, Tf was then measured after the ice had melted completely. The latent heat of fusion of ice
was then computed.
Results
Block number = 13
Mass of Block, ms = 83.3g
Mass of Cup = 5.5g
Measured Temp. of Boiling Water = 99.6 C
CH2O = 1.000cal / (g. OC) = 4186 J / (kg. K).
Table 1: Results for specific heat
Specific Heat of Sample cgs units SI units
Trial # Mass of H2O Initial Temp. Final Temp. cs (cal / (g 0c)) cs (J / (kg 0C))
1 91.8 21.0 C 32.9 C 0.1954 817.94
2 91.8 21.2 C 33.2 C 0.1979 828.41
Average cs = 0.1967 cal / (g 0c)
Average cs = 823.17 J / (kg 0C)
Calculations:
Specific heat of a metal, cs = mH2O cH2O (Tf Ti) / ms (100oc Tf)
For Trial 1: cs = 91.8g × 1.000 cal. / (g. OC) (32.9 21.0) OC / 83.3 (100oc 32.9) OC
= 1092.42 / 5589.43 = 0.1954 cal / (g 0c)
Converting to SI units:
0.1954 cal / (g 0c) × (4186 J / (kg. K). / 1.000cal / (g. OC)) = 817.94 J / kg 0C
For Trial 2: cs = 91.8g × 1.000 cal. / (g. OC) (33.2 21.2) OC / 83.3 (100oc 33.2) OC
= 1101.6 / 5564.44 = 0.1979 cal / (g 0c)
Converting to SI units:
0.1979 cal / (g 0c) × (4186 J / (kg. K). / 1.000cal / (g. OC)) = 828.41J / (kg 0C)
Average cs in cgs units = (0.1954 + 0.1979) = 0.1967 cal / (g 0c)
Average cs in SI units = (817.94+ 828.41) = 823.17 J / kg 0C

Depression And Postpartum Depression
Postpartum Depression among Teenage Mothers
Introduction
Postpartum depression is a category of depression that can occur when a mother has a baby. The
symptoms of postpartum depression are similar to the symptoms of major depression. Postpartum
depression is often experienced during the first month that the baby is born (Bolyn 2017). Some
women experience postpartum depression during pregnancy (Bolyn 2017). A few symptoms of
postpartum depression are excessive crying, loss of appetite, feelings of hopelessness, and difficulty
concentrating (Bolyn 2017). Teen pregnancy contributes to a small percentage of women who are
diagnosed with postpartum depression (Bolyn 2017). A pregnant woman is considered a teen mom if
she is from the ages of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anemia, Low birth weight, Preeclampsia, and Premature delivery are effects of postpartum depression
during pregnancy (Mena 2016). Mothers who were going through postpartum depression during the
first three months of the child s life were seen to be irritable and less engaged (Field 2011). Inadequate
caregiving is also a major effect of postpartum depression (Field 2011). Mothers who have postpartum
depression are less likely to continue breastfeeding if it becomes difficult (Field 2011). Infant s with
sleep problems are often put into unsafe sleep practices because of a mother s postpartum depression
(Field 2011). Infants of mothers with postpartum depression are less likely to attend well doctor s
appointments (Field 2011). Safety practices are often violated when a mother has postpartum
depression (Field 2011). Some mothers have thoughts of harming their infants during postpartum
depression (Field 2011). They also can have a fear of being alone with their child (Field 2011).
Mothers with postpartum depression are also known to use harsher punishments (Field 2011).
Why it s important? It is important to receive treatment for postpartum depression because if it is left
untreated it could cause further problems. It is also important because a new mother could have a pre
existing underlying condition of depression (Stone 2014). Leaving postpartum depression untreated
can lead to a poor quality relationship with a partner

and small windows ran along the top of the wall, on the walls were the banners of Wolfs Head as well
a painting of every hero who came from the kingdom.
Behind the throne was the head of an abnormally large wolf that gave the city its name, the throne
itself was made of carved stone and was a gift from the dwarfs of Ironhammer, and sat upon it was
Loken Grenford, King of the North and leader of the rebellion.

her mother died, he then looked down at the door as Vartan entered and Loken then lowered his voice,

Reaction Paper On Biking
One activity I like to participate in is biking. I chose this activity for this assignment because it uses
various parts of the brain due to the fact that there are many different things you must focus on in
order to successfully ride a bike. Another reason I chose this activity is because I am very familiar
with riding a bike, making me more confident in the accuracy of my statements regarding doing so.
When riding a bike, your brain must do much more than simply move your legs around in circles
(unless you want to fall over or crash). Additionally, it must process your surroundings and focus on
staying balanced. Furthermore, if you re clumsy like me, your brain might also have to make quick,
important decisions about how to not die in such a stupid way. A great example such a stupid way to
die would be the time a harmless little fly landed on my hand, causing me to bump into the chain
guard, thus knocking the chain off track and spinning the bike out of control. The first thing one
probably thinks of when contemplating the many parts of riding a bike, is the circular action of
pushing the pedals. The part of the brain responsible for such action is the motor cortex. I have chosen
the motor cortex over the cerebellum because while both are involved in muscular movement the
motor cortex is more about voluntary muscular movement and the cerebellum more maintaining
muscle coordination. The motor cortex is also responsible for muscular movement involved in
steering the

The Effects Of Violent Video Games On Children
The question is why children are being affected by these games. Is it that the child are mimicking what
they see or is it effecting the child s brain. At Indiana University, Dr. Vincent Matthews decided to
create a study to watch brain patterns after playing violent video games. They performed three
different tests to find out how these games impacted the brain. They picked out 28 students from
campus to play either violent video games, first person shooter games, or non violent games. What
they found was after a couple hours playing these games that those who play violent video games
showed no brain activity in areas involving emotions, attention, and impulses. There is science behind
violent video games and their negative effects on people. Researchers ran another test after the
participants played the games. They held up cards with non violent words like run or walk, and they
were in different colors. They also held up cards with violent words like hit or push which were also in
different colors. Those who play violent video games were equal to the non violent video game
players in the original testing but when it came to the violent words, violent video gamers should no
brain activity in the area of emotion like the non violent gamers. When faced with violent topics, the
gamers were desensitized to the topic. Alice Park stated in her article, How Playing Violent Video
Games May Change the Brain, The brain changes that Matthews group saw were similar to those seen

Education Of A School s Physical Education Program
education in a school system equally. Looking at it from this standpoint, we can say physical
education will have meaning when all of these factors are contributed and put together. We have to
work together to implement physical education in the schools, but it will all be worth it in the long run
(France, 2011, p.51). Staff, as stated from the article written by Huberty, is a big part of a school s
physical education program. Most of the participants and staff from this study believe physical activity
is important, but limited because of the amount of homework given, pressure from peers, and the lack
of ability to perform at home because of limited equipment. I believe all of these factors are important
because this is something very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Taking into consideration those factors and learning to differentiate lessons for those students is very
important for success and building of a physical education program. The most important part about a
physical education lesson is so each and every student is participating to his or her fullest and best
ability, while also learning something. Whether or not a lesson has to be differentiated or adapted, they
should all be learning (Ebbeck, 2015, p. 54). Saving the best for last, obesity. According to schools in
Texas and Governor Rick Perry, these schools will be participating in physical education to reduce the
beginning of diabetes. Since America is considered overweight, they did not think there was a better
way to hopefully decrease obesity than to incorporate more physical education in to schools.
Kindergarten through fifth grade graders are required to exert for thirty minutes during PE or
structured recess, which students will begin this fall (Obesity, 2007, p.1). This also goes along with the
taking away of recesses. We should not be taking away things, which benefit our students lives.
Overall, physical education courses can help a students overall well being and health. This is the goal
they aim to pursue at these Texas schools. They also are requiring mandatory testing based upon levels
of attendance, meal

The Newest Technology in Law Enforcement Essay
The license plate reader, LPR is a mobile plate hunter that comprises of a camera(s) placed on the
outside of a squad car that is then connected to a computer database inside the squad car. The plate
hunter has the capacity to recognize the character on a number plate and rapidly relay the information
to the database computer that would verify of the owner or the automobile has any record or if the
vehicle has been reported stolen/missing. This ability is even possible when the squad car is moving at
75 mph and can check up to 3, 000 number plates within an hour. Any offending incidence is brought
to the attention of the officers by a siren or alarm the computer makes; stolen or revoked license.

The system has been criticized as a breach into privacy and the first amendment as well as taking
surveillance a notch higher than permissible. Law enforcers on the other hand have argued that the
license plate reader is not discriminative and does not choose which license plate to read and raise
alarm; it is not discretionary, it reads all the plates. (Beyerlein 2009)
The license plate reader is also looks after the well being of an officer in that after picking up a
dangerous criminal, an officer will seek back up or will know how to approach such a situation rather
than where an officer flags down a suspect not knowing how dangerous the criminal is. (Hanlon 2007)
Just like the license plate reader, civil societies are worried about the instant identification finger
printing method employed by law enforcers in nabbing offenders. The gadget/ system which gives
police an instant access to database for cross checking against the prints they have obtained from a
suspect enables the officers to pick any data and history on the subject from name, date of birth, social
security number any other details about the person. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement,
FDLE, has employed the use of the new technology going by the name of FALCON to assist in the
criminal identification process. The system is able to compare the partial and palm prints obtained
from a crime scene to the fingerprints in the data bank. FALCON is also capable of pulling and

Waterboarding History
The history of waterboarding goes back a lot further than most people even realize. The technique
commonly referred to as waterboarding was first documented in the 14th century, but has been used
on and off around the world since before the Spanish Inquisition1. The term waterboarding is actually
a reference to two different techniques, with one of them being the more commonly used today. The
first technique involves the pumping of water directly into a person s stomach. The other technique is
the one most people think of when they hear the word waterboarding. This technique involves the
placement of a cloth material over the mouth and a steady stream of water poured into the throat.
Those steps lead to the person being interrogated experiencing a feeling as if they are drowning. This
often leads to the unconsciousness of the interrogated. The person is awoken and the cycle is

Waterboarding is known and used, because of the effectiveness at which it causes the person severe
mental suffering in an effort to gain intelligence. The fact that it meets the definition of the term
torture, means that it would be illegal under the same reasoning as torture is illegal under the standards
of International and U.S. law. Furthermore, one of the biggest arguments in favor of waterboarding
after the events of 9/11, was the fact that the U.S. was at war with terrorists. So therefore it was ok to
waterboard terrorists to find out information. However, Article 2 of the UN convention against torture
states, there are no circumstances whatsoever, whether a state of war or a threat of war, that can be
used as a justification for torture. This means that no matter what the circumstances surrounding the
reason behind someone being tortured, the act is still illegal by international law and therefore illegal
by U.S. standards as

A DECISION TREE BASED RULE FORMATION WITH COMBINED PSO GAALGORITHM
FOR INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM
3.1 INTRODUCTION The increase in the usage of the computer networks leads to the huge rise in the
threat and attacks. These attackers change, steal and destroy the valuable information and finally cause
complete damage to the computer system of the victim. They affect the performance of the computer
system through the misconfiguration activities and generation of software bugs from internal and
external networks. Irrespective of the existence of various security mechanism, attackers often attempt
to harm the computer system of the intended legitimate users. Hence, security is a main factor for the
efficient operation of the network in various applications such as healthcare monitoring, military
surveillance, etc. The most common security mechanisms are firewalls, antivirus programs and
Intrusion Detection System (IDS).
Firewalls (Fehr, 2013) are the commonly used mechanism for securing the corporate network or sub
network. The firewall is operated based on a set of rules that can protect the system from the flooding
attacks. The main function is sorting of the packets according to the allow/deny rules, based on the
header filed information. But the firewalls cannot ensure complete protection of an internal network,
since they are unable to stop the internal attacks. The computer viruses can cause damage to the
computer data that leads to the complete failure of the

Friendship In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
Various people refer to a friendship as a violin. The music may stop every now and then, but most
importantly, the strings last forever. A friendship may have its ups and downs, but a true friendship
should never perish. John Steinbeck s Of Mice and Men illustrates the importance of a close
friendship, and the dependability that comes along with that relationship. Thomas Aquinas, an Italian
philosophers, wisely said, There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than a true friendship
(Aquinas). Steinbeck s text supports Aquinas idea through the powerful friendship between George
and Lennie. A dependable friendship makes a strong relationship. Lennie depends on George to make

If a person is honest with his or her friend, then the friends would have complete trust and
dependability in each other. In chapter three, George says, Used to play jokes on im cause he was too
dumb to take care of himself...he was so nice to me...I ain t done nothing like that no more
(Steinbeck). Lennie and George are completely honest with one another because they know it will stay
between the two. George admits to another character that he fooled around with Lennie because of his
arrogance. But George also says that he never does anything like that anymore to Lennie because
George cares a lot about Lennie. This shows that George learns from his mistakes, honestly admits it,
and then corrects what he did wrong. In chapter six, Lennie says, I done another bad thing (Steinbeck).
Lennie doesn t sugar coat his response. He just gives it straight to George. Lennie knows George is
intelligent, so he leaves the problems to be solved with George instead of handling them himself.
Lennie figures George is a true friend, so he tells George just about anything. If friends are more
honest with each other, then friendships would be much

Gender Inequality In Jane Eyre
The Victorian Era was the decade of extreme social and gender inequality. In many ways, the society
was polarized in that men are treated as superior individuals, whereas women are looked down upon.
In the novel, Jane Eyre, inequality is portrayed through marriages of characters. The issue is further
acknowledged with the different perspectives of the society, characters and the author. In her novel,
Jane Eyre, Charlotte Brontë disagrees with the society s implication of marriage as a confinement of
freedom, but instead suggests that marriage should be based on equality and duties.
Because the setting takes place in the Victorian Age, Brontë points out the society s expectation of
marriage at the time, which is women s subjection to men; however she expresses her disagreement of
it by advising a marriage built on equality. She states that society s definition of marriage is the
exchange between male financial supports for female sexuality. During the party of Rochester, Jane
indicates her belief on marriage. I saw he was going to marry her, for family, perhaps political reasons;
because her rank and connexions suited him; I felt he had not given her his love (216). Jane s belief is
shaped by society s expectations that individuals can only marry someone in their own social status.
Therefore, Jane believes that Rochester will marry Ms. Ingram due to her high rank, wealth and
beauty. She concludes that although there is no love between the two, they will come together for

Similarities Between Everyman And The Pilgrim s Progress
Religion has played a significant role in the shaping and molding of human civilization. In the Middle
Ages, religion was a core pinnacle that served as a source of guidance and meaning for individuals
and the state. The medieval play, Everyman, explores the journey of Everyman to Heaven and the
phases he must go through in order to stand before God to give an account of his life. Everyman was
written during a time when the Catholic Church s practice of penance was paramount as a means for

However, he realizes that the people who walk on the narrow path in life are few. Every Christian on a
journey to eternal life longs for fellowship in order to have a sense of community and joy. The
outcome of life one strives for is to live a rewarding life. God will judge each individual s good and
bad deeds when all mankind stands before Him to give an account of their life. The allegorical aspect
of the play serves an important role in this scene because it appeals to the common individual through
its emphasis on relationship. Everyman s longing for a friend is an inherent desire of every Christian
because it gives them a sense of community while seeking purpose and meaning in life. In his article,
The Doctrine of Friendship in Everyman, John Conley says, In his hour of adversity Everyman turns
first to Fellowship, who like a true friend readily promises to help before he knows what will be asked
of him...But as soon as Fellowship learns what Everyman wants of him, he reneges on his promise
(376). Here, Friendship appears to be a nice and loyal friend on the surface; however, as the layers are

The Inner Turmoil Expressed in Brutus’ Soliloquy in...
Brutus soliloquy in William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar reveals Brutus inner turmoil before he
decides on participating in the conspiracy. Brutus is torn between his love for Rome and his friendship
with Caesar. However, Brutus fears that Caesar s tyranny after enthroning will cause harm to Rome
and return Rome to dictatorship. In the end, Brutus chooses his obligation to Rome over Caesar.
Brutus soliloquy reflects on his internal conflict between his love for Caesar and his fear of Caesar s
power and ambition in which Brutus eventually resolves to kill Caesar. Brutus affection towards
Caesar makes him hesitate to kill Caesar. Brutus sorrow towards the idea of the conspiracy contributes
to his disinclination of killing Caesar. Brutus has deep affection for Caesar, however he is pressured to
eliminate Caesar because of his sense of duty to protect Rome, And for my part/ I know no personal
cause to spurn at him/ But for the general. (2.1.10 12) Brutus effectively uses the tone of helplessness
to evoke pathos in the audience. The atmosphere of sympathy establishes Brutus unwillingness to kill
Caesar. Furthermore, Brutus avoids the usage of Caesar s name, as he feels shameful when convincing
himself to kill Caesar. Brutus repeatedly uses third person pronoun he . Instead of using Caesar s
name, Brutus, consciously or unconsciously, replaces it with a pronoun. Brutus diction establishes his
awareness of his talk of the conspiracy against his best friend. He feels

The Curse Of The Pharaoh
THE CURSE OF THE PHARAOH S Among the world s most famous curses is the curse pharaohs.
King Tutankhamen ruled Egypt as pharaoh for ten years until his death at age nineteen, around 1324
B.C. Although he was famous for reversing the tumultuous religious reforms of his father, Pharaoh
Akhenaten. Tutankhamen s legacy was largely negated by his heirs. He was hardly known to the
modern world until 1922, when British archaeologist Howard Carter carved through a doorway and
entered the boy pharaoh s tomb, which had remained sealed for more than 3,200 years. The tomb s
vase store of artifacts and treasure, intended to accompany the king into the afterlife, revealed an
incredible amount about royal life in ancient Egypt, and quickly made King Tut the world s most
famous pharaoh. Until his tomb was opened and that started the curse of pharaohs . What is the history
behind the curse? Is it the curse real? Since the mid 20th century, many authors and documentaries
have argued that the curse is real in the sense of being caused by scientifically reasonable causes such
as bacteria or radiation. Yet, the modern origins of Egyptian mummy curse stories, their developed

from accusing disruption of the dead to entertaining movies. However, most people think Egyptian

Jewish Badges
The yellow star, inscribed with the word Jude ( Jew in German), has become a symbol of Nazi
persecution. Its likeness abounds upon Holocaust literature and materials. But the Jewish badge was
not instituted in 1933 when Hitler came to power. It was not instituted in 1935 when the Nuremberg
Laws stripped Jews of their citizenship. It was still not implemented by Kristallnacht in 1938. The
oppression and labeling of the Jews by use of the Jewish badge did not begin until after the start of the
Second World War.And even then, it began as local laws rather than as a unified Nazi policy. The
Nazis rarely had an original idea. Almost always what made the Nazi policies different was that they

In 1781, Joseph II of Austria made major torrents into the use of a badge with his Edict of Tolerance
and many other countries discontinued their use of badges very late in the eighteenth century. The first
reference to a Jewish badge during the Nazi era was made by the German Zionist leader, Robert
Weltsch. During the Nazi declared boycott upon Jewish stores on April 1, 1933, yellow Stars of David

suggestion about a badge. But it wasn t until after the Second

a. Audie Murphy had prior military service experience and advanced through the ranks quickly. He
earned his first military decorations during Operation Dragoon. During that operation, he fought with
courage and valor by ambushing a group of German Soldiers and using their machine guns and
grenades against them. Though he had setbacks during this operation, he continued to have courage,

In January 1945, German forces attacked Company B, 15th Regiment, 3rd infantry division in
Holtzwihr. Approximately 250 German soldiers were heading towards the Bois de Reidwihr which
they had planned to seize. The Americans felt unprepared when they discovered the presence of the
German forces, so they decided to fall back. However, Audie Murphy decided to move forward and
fight. He drew a .50 caliber and started shooting Germans as he believed that German advancements
in this area needed to be stopped at all costs. This German infantryman were as close as 10 yards from
Lieutenant Murphy, but he kept shooting at German infantry bodies. The bravery Murphy presented at
Holtzwihr earned him the medal of honor.
c. Murphy s valor came to a test when his battalion headed to Anzio. The Germans received an
unexpected advantage because of a missed landing of American troops. The Germans moved 125,000
troops to position and attacked allied soldiers with artillery. Their commander got wounded, but Audie

Effects Of Chronic Illness On The Children
Chronic illness affects 15% of all children in the United States, however, the impact of this particular
trauma is often overlooked (Ferro Boyle, 2013). Children with chronic illnesses endure frightening
diagnoses, painful treatments, and uncertain futures. The stress that results from these new realities
influences crucial development for the child, as well as further development for the entire family. The
effects of ill children being physically and socially withdrawn from normal activities then result in
lower self esteem and decreased self concept. In addition to the effects of chronic illness on the child
afflicted, the role of the parent or sibling assumes new meaning while learning how to cope with
caring for an ill child. It is crucial for the family of a chronically ill child to be well informed on the
resources made available to them. A case study of a young boy, Tom, who was diagnosed with Crohn s
Disease, exemplifies the difficulties that the child and the family face after a chronic illness diagnosis.
Keywords: chronic illness, Crohn s Disease. The Effects of Chronic Childhood Illness Being
diagnosed with a chronic illness as a child completely changes the anticipated trajectory of their life,
as well as their family s life. The child who is diagnosed has to learn how to cope with the symptoms
of the disease, as well as how to cope with the psychological effects that accompany the illness.

The Existence of Racism Essay
The Existence of Racism
Racism is a term that is often used to describe a variety of social, culture and economic problems, but
has, unfortunately, acquired so many contradictory meanings that it takes on the aura of a myth, it has
become increasingly difficult to define (de Benoist, 1999, p. 11). Although the term wasn t officially
featured in the Larousse Dictionary until 1932, racism had been a dark cloud hanging over the global
horizon for centuries (de Benoist, 1999). Before delving into the complex concept of racism, it is
recommended that the student who is writing on this topic first consider the notion of race, which has
been described as a group of people with the same physical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

296). There is also the notion of genetic inheritance, which subjectively implies that some groups are
superior to others (Vorster, 1999). This argument is rooted in belief that some groups sport a more
impressive biological pedigree than others and are therefore better than other groups from the moment
of birth. Finally, there is the idea that suggests that group diversity is forged through social behavior
(Vorster, 1999). In other words, some groups simply have greater physical or intellectual capacities
than others, which allow them to be easily categorized on the basis of superiority and inferiority
(Vorster, 1999). Interestingly, these ideas seem to transcend all cultural barriers, which is why racism
is prevalent in both primitive as well as civilized societies.
There are three major factors which need to be considered in order to provide a sufficient overview of
racism that lends itself to further, more detailed analysis. First, there is the ideology mentioned earlier,
the significance of which cannot be underestimated (Vorster, 2002). In fact, back in 1978, UNESCO
[United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization] issued a Declaration of Race,
which defined racism as,

Sexuality In Tennessee Williams Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
In the play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Williams explores a theme of sexuality. The story focuses on Brick

Christian Worldview Definition
A worldview is an intrinsic part of a person. It shapes who they are, what they believe, and how they
act. It is something that each person holds on to, and lets it shape themselves, their personality, and
their interactions with other people. Senator John Thune believes that, Having a Christian worldview

who are principled, and those principles have to connecte to something. And my faith is what serves as
the anchor and directs my actions. Yet, even though Senator Thune believes this way, his philosophy

Ulcers are preventable with turning schedules, frequent toileting, and good nutrition. Millions of
dollars could be saved with just a few interventions and patient satisfaction would also increase.
There are things that could have been done to solve the ethical issues in Mr. J s scenario. First, the
CNA needs to be educated on what to look for when it comes to pressure areas. A protocol should be
in place in which a CNA notifies the nursing staff of any redness. In turn the nursing staff should then
follow up with a care for the patient that requires turning every two hours. Second, a local Rabbi
should be called in to educate staff on the Jewish culture and the changes in care a patient should need
if they are Jewish. Teaching on Kosher diets would be one of the aspects of the education provided to
all staff. Thirdly, all staff needs education about communication. Education about communication
should be ongoing. Communication between staff is as important as communication between staff and
patients and staff and family. The diet issue should have been brought up to management before so
that the problem could have been prevented before Mr. J became a patient. The fact that it was not
reported reflects a system change that needs to be made in the realm of communication. Lastly, there
should be a protocol as to when restraints should be used. As discussed earlier in this paper, the patient

Compare And Contrast Analysis Of After Death And The Lady...
Compare and Contrast Analysis
The third person poetry The Lady of Shalott which was wrote by Alfred Tennyson tells a story about
the lady who breaks her curse because of the longing for the freedom and the outside world, then she
dies. And Christina Rossetti s first person work After death displays the occurrences she saw beside
her after her death. The comparison of these two poems is about the plot described the main character
s death. And both authors create a mournful and grave scene in this part. And the contrast is about the
different responses to their death from other characters. In addition to the contrast, the themes of these
two poetries also are distinct to each other. For example, the theme of After death is about the love
from the author to the male, and the theme of The lady of Shalott is telling audience the romantic and
tragic life of the lady of Shalott.
In After Death , the author mainly illustrates the setting and the environment where her body lays:
The curtains were half drawn, the floor was swept
And strewn with rushes, rosemary and may
Lay thick upon the bed on which I lay,
Where through the lattice ivy shadows crept. (lines1 4)
Compares to After death , the scene in The Lady of Shalott shows how the lady die: Lying, robed in
snowy white ... Heard a carol, mournful, holy,
Chanted loudly, chanted lowly,
Till her blood was frozen slowly,
And her eyes were darken d wholly, Turn d to tower d Camelot. (lines 144 and 153 157)

Non Gravitational Effects On Jupiter s Satellites
Non gravitational effects on Jupiter s satellites The non gravitational forces affecting on the natural
satellites orbits were studied recently using observations. This effect creates a quadratic term in orbital
longitude and a secular changing of the semi major axis. Causes may be only hypothetical. It is
assumed that the causes of the effects are in the tides in the body of the planet and in the body of
satellite (Emelyanov 2015; private communication). Lainey et al. (2009) considered an extensive set
of astrometric observations from 1891 to 2007 to study the orbital tidal evolution of the innermost
Jovian satellite Io. They integrated numerically the full equations of motion for the satellite center s
mass. It is noteworthy that Io s tidal heat comes from the orbital energy of the Io Jupiter system
(resulting in orbital acceleration), whereas dissipation of energy in Jupiter causes Io s orbital motion to
declare. They used a weighted least squares inversion procedure and minimized the differences
between the observed and computed positions of the satellites to determine the parameters of the
model. The solution for the tidal dissipation gives for Io, and for Jupiter, where, is the love number
and is the quality value. The orbital accelerations represent a shift in the orbital positions of the
Galilean satellites Io, Europa and Ganymede of 55 km, 125 km and 365 km over the 116 years

Research Paper On Tupac Shakur
Tupac Amaru Shakur was a very influential person who overcame many difficulties. Tupac was a
rapper of truth that spoke about the things that go on in the Hood and the unjust police. He was treated
differently because he was black and was even arrested for jaywalking. After he was arrested he was
beaten by the cops who wanted him to learn his place (Joseph 29). This shows how bad Tupac had it
because he was African American. Tupac died an early death at 25 because of a brewing rivalry
between the East and West Coast rappers. Shakur was a person who would stand up for what he
believed in no matter the cost and died fighting for that. He never let anyone win a battle that he was
determined to win and always knew what he was fighting for. His mother was the same, as a loyal
member of the Black Panther Party, a group that protected all African Americans from police brutality.
Tupac was literally born to be a fighter and carried on his mother s legacy. Despite his rough life,
Tupac Shakur became one of the most influential rappers of all time.

Analysis of a Counselling Session using a Case Conceptualisation and Drop out Risk.
Counselling has one aim: to help the client. This is a simple aim however it is often difficult to put
into effect, this was experienced first hand in the practice therapy session. Counselling encourages
individuals to develop a self awareness and enables them to make changes in their lives (Cross, 2010).
The use of micro skills is essential in any counselling session as it ensures that the client feels heard
and understood and the use of the skills impacts the strength of the therapeutic relationship (Geldard
and Geldard, 2005; Lambert Barley, 2001). The following will outline a summary of the session as
well as the clients presenting problems and my aims when approaching this particular session. The
video will then be analysed in relation to the micro skills that were displayed or were attempted, the
essay will then outline a case conceptualisation in regards to this particular client and the factors that
may influence them to prematurely discontinue with the therapy sessions.

Analysis Of Learning To Read By Malcolm X
Learning how to read is one of the most common processes in the world. For me, learning how to read
is the most useful ability that I have learned throughout my entire life. For others, most people learn
how to read though different languages in different ways. For Malcolm X, he found reading to be
appealing and devoted so much time to it. Malcolm X recounts his personal history of learning to read
and how he finds reading to be the most important skill and influence everything in his life. He retells
his history of reading several books and dictionaries and how th process slowly affected his life. He
elaborates how reading increases a performance and efficiency to heighten their potential. In Learning

He repeats the various books that he read and it shows the variety of what he read. For example, he
repeats the sentence with I and goes on to talk about reading about the horrors of slavery (165). It is
not directly claimed, but it can be inferred that what he read had an effect on his goals in later life.
This even further shows how using repetition reiterates a thought and drives the thought into the
reader s mind. The extensive examples prove that Malcolm X uses repetition along with anecdotes to
remind the reader that the events in the story happened to him and not anyone else. Although Malcolm
X s repetition does a splendid job of conveying his message, the strongest tools in his arsenal are his
anecdotes, or short stories. Because the text is a narrative, it tells mostly of real events in his life. He
tells this narrative through anecdotes about his time in prison reading countless books and texts. For
example, he recounts the time that he read the dictionary, reciting countless volumes of words just to
learn new things (162). This demonstrates that all of these event that he mentions happen to him and

Nick Carraway Mature In The Great Gatsby
In The Great Gatsby written by Scott F Fitzgerald, we meet a plethora of characters all displaying
traits of one who has not matured yet. The Great Gatsby follows the story of a man who is infatuated
with a reckless woman and the drama that follows. Nick Carraway is our narrator and one of the main
characters, he spends much of his time observing the mistakes and everyday lives of the other
characters. Even though he is an adult, Nick does grow in maturity and insight throughout the course
of the novel as he is drawn into a lifestyle completely foreign to him. Nick is, in fact, the only
dynamic character in the novel. He introduces us to the others, through his clear and unbiased view on
things.
We meet Daisy Buchanan who is a mysteriously ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gatsbys inability to distinguish dreams from reality is what makes him adolescent. His ignorance
drives him to confrontation which ends him up dead. Jay Gatsby is the embodiment of the American
Dream. He is shown to us in all his immature romanticism, which includes an insecure grasp of social
and human values, a lack of cultural intelligence and self knowledge, a blindness to the pitfalls that
surround him. All of these things are results of his compulsive optimism and idealism. His immature
ideals cannot be sustained in reality. As Nick tells us, there are only the pursued, the pursuing, the
busy, and the tired . Ultimately, disappointed in love and bereft of real friends, Gatsby grows tired of
being both pursued and pursuing (i.e. Daisy). His adolescent ideals ultimately crumble and lead to his
own demise under the persistent encroachment of

Shakespeare Often Employs the Imagery of Darkness...
Darkness is invariably associated with evil and to a certain extent deception. In our society, darkness
tends to be the primary characteristic of evil. A black cat, a dark and stormy night, and a dark alley, for
instance, are all modern day symbols of wickedness and evil. Authors many times will use these and
other symbols to describe an evil character or setting. In Elizabethan England night air was said to be
impure and rheumy and it was the air in which evils were most free since it was not purged by the
sunshine. Darkness is also associated with the supernatural. William Shakespeare employs the
imagery of darkness throughout his play of Macbeth. He uses dark images often to describe
instruments of disorder and the evils which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He adds that it is not only Malcolm who s being rewarded but that signs of nobleness like stars shall
shine/ On all deservers . This clearly shows what a fair man he is. His lines are almost opposed by
Macbeth in his Aside a few lines later where he states that Stars hide your fire, /let not light see my
black and deep desires . Macbeth has started plotting the deed in his mind and is aware that it will be
so gruesome that it just cannot be performed in any light. Even the dim twinkling of the stars is a lot
of light for him to bear while committing the heinous regicide by disposing of his cousin Duncan.
In Scene 5, Lady Macbeth uses a lot of darkness imagery in her soliloquies. She calls upon the thick
night to be a pall in the dunnest smoke of hell and a woman like her who has no scruples admits to the
face that the deed is so gruesome that it is best performed under the blanket of dark . She asks
Macbeth as to when the king proposes to leave Inverness and when her husband replies that he has
come for the night only she complacently asserts that O never/shall sun that morrow see implying that
overnight they will dispose him off. It should be noted that Duncan is murdered at night.
Scene 6 which is ushered by Duncan s arrival at Inverness takes place in the late evening which is
shown since there are torches lit in the background. The night is suitable for evil deeds. The sun on the
other hand symbolizes life giving energy. The king is

Puerto City Market History
Ponce City Market is a new development including retail, residential and commercial space that
repurposes the historic Sears Roebuck and Company building in the Old Fourth Ward district of
Atlanta.
The site has been in public use at least back to the 1860 s when it was a popular day trip for Atlantans
who wished to visit Ponce de Leon Springs for their reputed health benefits. The springs on the site
were named by Atlanta physician, Dr. Henry L. Wilson, for Juan Ponce de Leon, of Fountain of Youth
fame, and it is from these springs, rather than the Spanish explorer, that Ponce de Leon Avenue takes
its name. Over time additional attractions were built at the site to capitalize on the popularity of the
springs and in 1903 the construction of a true amusement park was begun. Ponce de Leon Park
remained a local attraction through the early 1920 s.
In 1924, the park now closed, Sears Roebuck and Company chose the site for their Southeastern
headquarters and began work on the current structure, completing the first phase in 1926. The building
is one of the largest in the South and is located on a sixteen acre site facing Ponce de Leon Avenue.
Sears closed their retail store on the site after more than fifty years but maintained the building as a
regional office until 1987.
Several years after Sears final departure, the City of Atlanta bought ... Show more content on

entrance even features a bike valet service to secure these two wheeled vehicles during their rider s

But some tasks within some activities can be done in parallel sequence or simultaneously, which would significantly reduce the construction project completion time using the critical path method (CPM). In this method the longest path is the critical path which runs through one of the route in the project network diagram from start to finish. This project network diagram is illustrated on the printed assignment page, we have 10 tasks listed from A to J. • 5. Depression And Postpartum Depression Postpartum Depression among Teenage Mothers Introduction Postpartum depression is a category of depression that can occur when a mother has a baby. The symptoms of postpartum depression are similar to the symptoms of major depression. Postpartum depression is often experienced during the first month that the baby is born (Bolyn 2017). Some women experience postpartum depression during pregnancy (Bolyn 2017). A few symptoms of postpartum depression are excessive crying, loss of appetite, feelings of hopelessness, and difficulty concentrating (Bolyn 2017). Teen pregnancy contributes to a small percentage of women who are diagnosed with postpartum depression (Bolyn 2017). A pregnant woman is considered a teen mom if she is from the ages of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Anemia, Low birth weight, Preeclampsia, and Premature delivery are effects of postpartum depression during pregnancy (Mena 2016). Mothers who were going through postpartum depression during the first three months of the child s life were seen to be irritable and less engaged (Field 2011). Inadequate caregiving is also a major effect of postpartum depression (Field 2011). Mothers who have postpartum depression are less likely to continue breastfeeding if it becomes difficult (Field 2011). Infant s with sleep problems are often put into unsafe sleep practices because of a mother s postpartum depression (Field 2011). Infants of mothers with postpartum depression are less likely to attend well doctor s appointments (Field 2011). Safety practices are often violated when a mother has postpartum depression (Field 2011). Some mothers have thoughts of harming their infants during postpartum depression (Field 2011). They also can have a fear of being alone with their child (Field 2011). Mothers with postpartum depression are also known to use harsher punishments (Field 2011). Why it s important? It is important to receive treatment for postpartum depression because if it is left untreated it could cause further problems. It is also important because a new mother could have a pre existing underlying condition of depression (Stone 2014). • 7. Reaction Paper On Biking One activity I like to participate in is biking. I chose this activity for this assignment because it uses various parts of the brain due to the fact that there are many different things you must focus on in order to successfully ride a bike. Another reason I chose this activity is because I am very familiar with riding a bike, making me more confident in the accuracy of my statements regarding doing so. When riding a bike, your brain must do much more than simply move your legs around in circles (unless you want to fall over or crash). Additionally, it must process your surroundings and focus on staying balanced. Furthermore, if you re clumsy like me, your brain might also have to make quick, important decisions about how to not die in such a stupid way. A great example such a stupid way to die would be the time a harmless little fly landed on my hand, causing me to bump into the chain guard, thus knocking the chain off track and spinning the bike out of control. The first thing one probably thinks of when contemplating the many parts of riding a bike, is the circular action of pushing the pedals. The part of the brain responsible for such action is the motor cortex. I have chosen the motor cortex over the cerebellum because while both are involved in muscular movement the motor cortex is more about voluntary muscular movement and the cerebellum more maintaining muscle coordination. The motor cortex is also responsible for muscular movement involved in steering the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Effects Of Violent Video Games On Children The question is why children are being affected by these games. Is it that the child are mimicking what they see or is it effecting the child s brain. At Indiana University, Dr. Vincent Matthews decided to create a study to watch brain patterns after playing violent video games. They performed three different tests to find out how these games impacted the brain. Postmodernists believe in evolution, yet they will specifically never endorses a specific type due to the fact that it would set a universal law upon all. For Postmodernists, the idea of multiple selves has rendered the concept of the soul obsolete. This means that in a traditional Naturalistic view, Humans come from nature, but are mostly part of the culture. Culture has made them who they are, and everything they are is attributed ... • 30. The Rabbi The Rabbi Helen Frace Western Governors University RTT Task 1 The Rabbi Mr. J is an elderly, retired, Jewish rabbi of 78 years old. Due to a hip fracture Mr. J was admitted to the hospital. Issues were identified during Mr. J s hospital stay, which could have been improved to make Mr. J s stay more pleasant. In 1994 the American Nurses Association (ANA) started the Patient Safety and Quality Initiative. It was a pilot program designed to evaluate the links between nurse staffing and quality care (Montalvo, 2007). The program outcome was a set of nursing sensitive indicators used to evaluate quality care for patients in the acute setting and the start of the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI). Millions of dollars could be saved with just a few interventions and patient satisfaction would also increase. There are things that could have been done to solve the ethical issues in Mr. J s scenario. First, the CNA needs to be educated on what to look for when it comes to pressure areas. A protocol should be in place in which a CNA notifies the nursing staff of any redness. In turn the nursing staff should then follow up with a care for the patient that requires turning every two hours. Second, a local Rabbi should be called in to educate staff on the Jewish culture and the changes in care a patient should need if they are Jewish. Teaching on Kosher diets would be one of the aspects of the education provided to all staff. Thirdly, all staff needs education about communication. Education about communication should be ongoing. Communication between staff is as important as communication between staff and patients and staff and family. The diet issue should have been brought up to management before so that the problem could have been prevented before Mr. J became a patient. The fact that it was not reported reflects a system change that needs to be made in the realm of communication. Lastly, there should be a protocol as to when restraints should be used. As discussed earlier in this paper, the patient would have benefited from a bed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Compare And Contrast Analysis Of After Death And The Lady... Compare and Contrast Analysis The third person poetry The Lady of Shalott which was wrote by Alfred Tennyson tells a story about the lady who breaks her curse because of the longing for the freedom and the outside world, then she dies. And Christina Rossetti s first person work After death displays the occurrences she saw beside her after her death. The comparison of these two poems is about the plot described the main character s death. And both authors create a mournful and grave scene in this part. And the contrast is about the different responses to their death from other characters. In addition to the contrast, the themes of these two poetries also are distinct to each other. For example, the theme of After death is about the love from the author to the male, and the theme of The lady of Shalott is telling audience the romantic and tragic life of the lady of Shalott. In After Death , the author mainly illustrates the setting and the environment where her body lays: The curtains were half drawn, the floor was swept And strewn with rushes, rosemary and may Lay thick upon the bed on which I lay, Where through the lattice ivy shadows crept. • 34. Non Gravitational Effects On Jupiter s Satellites Non gravitational effects on Jupiter s satellites The non gravitational forces affecting on the natural satellites orbits were studied recently using observations. This effect creates a quadratic term in orbital longitude and a secular changing of the semi major axis. Causes may be only hypothetical. It is assumed that the causes of the effects are in the tides in the body of the planet and in the body of satellite (Emelyanov 2015; private communication). Lainey et al. (2009) considered an extensive set of astrometric observations from 1891 to 2007 to study the orbital tidal evolution of the innermost Jovian satellite Io. They integrated numerically the full equations of motion for the satellite center s mass. It is noteworthy that Io s tidal heat comes from the orbital energy of the Io Jupiter system (resulting in orbital acceleration), whereas dissipation of energy in Jupiter causes Io s orbital motion to declare. They used a weighted least squares inversion procedure and minimized the differences between the observed and computed positions of the satellites to determine the parameters of the model. The solution for the tidal dissipation gives for Io, and for Jupiter, where, is the love number and is the quality value. The orbital accelerations represent a shift in the orbital positions of the Galilean satellites Io, Europa and Ganymede of 55 km, 125 km and 365 km over the 116 years respectively. Tupac was a rapper of truth that spoke about the things that go on in the Hood and the unjust police. He was treated differently because he was black and was even arrested for jaywalking. After he was arrested he was beaten by the cops who wanted him to learn his place (Joseph 29). This shows how bad Tupac had it because he was African American. Tupac died an early death at 25 because of a brewing rivalry between the East and West Coast rappers. Shakur was a person who would stand up for what he believed in no matter the cost and died fighting for that. He never let anyone win a battle that he was determined to win and always knew what he was fighting for. His mother was the same, as a loyal member of the Black Panther Party, a group that protected all African Americans from police brutality. Tupac was literally born to be a fighter and carried on his mother s legacy. Despite his rough life, Tupac Shakur became one of the most influential rappers of all time. Tupac Shakur was born on June 16th, 1971, with the name Lesane Crooks. His name was switched to Tupac Amaru II almost a year later. Focusing on the topic of Germany only having to fight on the western front would have been a huge advantage to Germany because on the Eastern Front the USSR was causing three quarters of Germany s military casualties and was keeping Germany from being able to launch massive attacks on the Western Front. This is a simple aim however it is often difficult to put into effect, this was experienced first hand in the practice therapy session. Counselling encourages individuals to develop a self awareness and enables them to make changes in their lives (Cross, 2010). The use of micro skills is essential in any counselling session as it ensures that the client feels heard and understood and the use of the skills impacts the strength of the therapeutic relationship (Geldard and Geldard, 2005; Lambert Barley, 2001). The following will outline a summary of the session as well as the clients presenting problems and my aims when approaching this particular session. The video will then be analysed in relation to the micro skills that were displayed or were attempted, the essay will then outline a case conceptualisation in regards to this particular client and the factors that may influence them to prematurely discontinue with the therapy sessions. He repeats the various books that he read and it shows the variety of what he read. For example, he repeats the sentence with I and goes on to talk about reading about the horrors of slavery (165). It is not directly claimed, but it can be inferred that what he read had an effect on his goals in later life. This even further shows how using repetition reiterates a thought and drives the thought into the reader s mind. The extensive examples prove that Malcolm X uses repetition along with anecdotes to remind the reader that the events in the story happened to him and not anyone else. Although Malcolm X s repetition does a splendid job of conveying his message, the strongest tools in his arsenal are his anecdotes, or short stories. Because the text is a narrative, it tells mostly of real events in his life. He tells this narrative through anecdotes about his time in prison reading countless books and texts. For example, he recounts the time that he read the dictionary, reciting countless volumes of words just to learn new things (162). This demonstrates that all of these event that he mentions happen to him and were true. In our society, darkness tends to be the primary characteristic of evil. A black cat, a dark and stormy night, and a dark alley, for instance, are all modern day symbols of wickedness and evil. Authors many times will use these and other symbols to describe an evil character or setting. In Elizabethan England night air was said to be impure and rheumy and it was the air in which evils were most free since it was not purged by the sunshine. Puerto City Market History Ponce City Market is a new development including retail, residential and commercial space that repurposes the historic Sears Roebuck and Company building in the Old Fourth Ward district of Atlanta. The site has been in public use at least back to the 1860 s when it was a popular day trip for Atlantans who wished to visit Ponce de Leon Springs for their reputed health benefits. The springs on the site were named by Atlanta physician, Dr. Henry L. Over time additional attractions were built at the site to capitalize on the popularity of the springs and in 1903 the construction of a true amusement park was begun. Ponce de Leon Park remained a local attraction through the early 1920 s.
