Case Study El Carte Presto Cafe
Introduction The purpose of the assessment is the examination and thorough study of a local café
popularly known as the El Carte Presto Café. This is a major café in South Florida and keeping in
mind the need of thorough evaluation, the study has been broken into sub parts whereby it assesses
three aspects of purchasing management namely supplier selection and evaluation system, purchasing
cost analysis and the use of information and communication technology for the purpose of magnifying
business and increasing sales. The study provides a deep insight into the working of any café, right
from its groundwork to reaping high benefits in terms of monetary returns. El Carte Presto is a major
player in food services in South Florida. The café takes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On Premises Advertising
Publicizing on its premises is likewise an unquestionable requirement for El Carte. All cafés ought to
have an exterior that obviously recognizes the foundation for what it is. This implies substantial
windows (if conceivable) uncovering within sitting range, tables set up outside and espresso menus
posted outside. The cafe should set up clear and noticeable store signage, pick an exceptionally
unmistakable area and place little, portable signs by the street, by the walkway or in its outside sitting
region. Selecting the right name can be helpful for on premises publicizing, also. (Ingram)
4. Special Advertising
The cafe should use deals advancements and publicizing together occasionally to give its shop a boost
in new visits. It should place coupons in nearby daily papers and magazines, for instance. It can also
influence online networking by posting printable coupons on Facebook and Twitter, or utilize an
administration like Groupon to convey coupons to Internet clients in its local area. (Ingram)

Loie Fuller s Dance Critique
Critique 1
On Friday, September 11th at 7:00 PM, I attended Dancestry by the Shay Ishii Dance Company. This
performance was held by Texas State University s Department of Theatre and Dance.
The vision for the performance was to take modern dance pioneers and highlighting their work and
contributions.
The first segment of the night was highlighting Loie Fuller. Fuller was a choreographer and dancer of
a unique and beautiful style of dance, using dazzling and flowing silk dresses. Her breakthrough in
what became known as Serpentine Dance . In Friday s performance, it was evident that the beauty of
the dance wasn t because of the flowing dresses, but the lighting used to create beautiful images.
When the performance started, I was very confused. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her tribute consisted of three movements from Chopin Suite. All of them involved three young
women. The unique thing about these dances that separated them from the others showcased was that I
was actually able to follow them. They were more story like than the rest. Duncan s dance style was
similar to Fuller in that she utilized flowing scarves and dresses to enhance the dances. This part of the
show was my favorite, I love dances that tell a clear cut story, and Isadora Duncan s style of dance
allowed for that to happen.
The last segment of the night was highlighting the work of Erick Hawkins. Hawkins vision consisted
of unique dancing, costuming, and overall style of performance. He utilized traditions from New
Zealand tribes in his work. I personally was not a fan of the Hawkins performances. There was a lot of
nonsensical movements, and there was just too much going on the stage. Although there was only the
one stage, there were at times so many separate movements going on at once, it seemed that there
were 3 or 4 separate stages. I can see the appeal that some audience members could have had in
viewing this dance style, though. The music was very interesting, and the costumes even more so. I
was reminded at times of the Lion King. There were leaping antelope, huge porcupines, and several
fish all dancing on the stage. Although I wasn t very interested in Hawkin s dance style,

Malcolm Gladwell Blink
Kashif khan MBA(2.5) Group B
Review about the book Blink
The blink is a great achievement of the author to explain the psychology of how the unconscious part
of our brain works. The author of the book is Malcolm Gladwell born on September 3, 1963 is an
English Canadian author, journalist and a speaker having experience of research conducting about
social psychologies. He is a graduate of Toronto University, Canada. He has written five books, The
tipping point, Blink, Outliers, David and Goliath and what the Dog saw. He has been working with the
New Yorkers (an American magazine of reportage, commentary, criticism, essays, fiction, satire,
cartoons, and poetry) since 1996.
The book Blink is about rapid cognition, the ability to make snap judgments in the blink of an eye. It
is about what we know in the first two seconds by looking at any object. It is about reading faces and
expressions. It is about making decisions from our unconscious part of brain that is faster and often
more correctly than the logical part of the brain can manage.

While continuing to argue that although snap judgments are an important part of human nature and a
powerful tool for understanding the world, still snap judgments can be prejudicial and objectively
wrong or even can be horrifically wrong, which the author calls The dark side of the snap judgments .
The author explain his arguments with the example of Warren Harding, one of the worst presidents in
American history an incompetent man who, Gladwell argues, only won the election because he had
been considered as dazzle personality for presidency. The second example given by the author in the
final chapter of Blink is about interpreting facial expressions one of the most basic kind of snap
judgments that we make. The author argues that Amadou Diallo s death was the result of some bad
snap judgments and mistaken interpretations of body

Jessica Lang Dance Concert Report
Jessica Lang Dance s concert showed at the Irvine Barclay Theater on February 19, 2016 was
successfully launched with stunning exhibitions in one night. For my specific concert, it was held on
the second floor at entryway number five. As I was expected, the stage was fairly small, and has two
levels incorporate the lower and upper (balcony), in the mean time of looking at the stage, the concert
began right about five minutes later. The main scene of an opening performance was a male dressed in
tight clothing, the dance is called Solo Bach. With the blissful music and splendid stage, the artist
conveys the audience to an appreciated mindset with his spectacular opening. The movements are not
so complicated, rather simple and delicate as he proceeds throughout the entire performance. At every
end of each display, there was a small break between each showing. Among The Stars carrying out

The Effects Of Substance Use Disorder On America s Prison...
Introduction
For the better part of the 20th century, those convicted of crimes and sentenced to serve time in prison,
who also have an addiction have been treated unfairly. Substance use disorder has been viewed as a
disease for decades now, and despite this, this disease is not being treated in America s prison systems
properly. The recent sentencing of Cameron Douglas, son of legendary actor Michael Douglas, to four
and one half years additionally in federal prison has brought this crucial injustice to light. Cameron
was serving a five year sentence for various drug related charge and is an admitted addict of
intravenous cocaine and heroin. Heroin was discovered in the cell he resided in, and in an
unprecedented legal proceeding, Judge Richard Berman gave Cameron the longest sentence on record
for a prisoner found to have drugs while incarcerated. Instead of receiving much needed treatment for
his disorder, Cameron will spend nearly the same amount of time in prison as his original sentence
called for.
The Numbers
Drug use and abuse is not a new problem for America s prison system, and is one which speaks to the
larger issue corrupting the judicial system as a whole. As of 2013, of those prisoners serving at least a
year long sentence, 51 percent (98,200) of them were serving for drug offenses (Carson, 2014). To
contrast the incarcerated with those on probation and parole, some 25 percent (977,662) of the 3.9
million people on probation were charged with drug

Religion After Conversion Research Paper
After conversion, Paul soon traveled to the Arabia the part of Nabatean kingdom was located. It is
speculated that Paul was forced to leave the Damascus due to his trouble from proclaiming Jesus as
Son of God. The Paul s escape from Damascus city wall is recorded in Acts 9:23 25.
 Paul s missionary modus operandi claimed the people as just as important as messages they deliver.
Paul had small group of companions assisting him in the ministry both male and females. Paul applied
his business skills (handcraftmanship) with Pricilla and Aquila to cover financial matters and turned
workshop into the place of spreading gospels. The believers homes and open area were often ideal
place for Paul to spread gospel even more by creating a community.
 The problems and questions created by each community necessitated Paul s writings. For he Paul s

Conversion is where people become completely new being through grace of God. The debate of
conversion and call gave me some interesting thoughts, but I think those two things are different. For
me, call is when God is wanting people to fulfill the purpose they have been given. They may happen
at same time, but it is also true for many people to have conversion and calling at the different times.
In my personal life, the conversion have happened when I found out that Christianity is unlike other
religions out there (Later found out how Christianity is actually relationship with God, not religion).
There was no calling for me as if I was in for the stand by position. The calling only came when I

Pros And Cons Of World Bank

AE1A Fall 2016
World Bank
World Bank is a private institution which provide development assistance as the world s largest source
of fund for its client countries. The main focus is helping the poorest countries and its client countries
to develop by investing in human resources, particularly through basic education and health,
infrastructure, environment protection and also maintain global financial stability. Despite of its good
investment, it was criticized for carry out environmentally unfriendly projects and other error on the
target of the fund. These two concepts are at the vital over the pros and cons of World Bank and many
arguments from both positive and negative sides are still debated (Bretton Woods Project,2005). This
essay will discuss the positive and negative impacts from the World Bank s aid, as information
provided before pull up the conclusion that World Bank does either harm or good.
One good point of World Bank is it supports economic growth in developing countries. World Bank
has helped many developing countries on their economic growth. It supports economic growth by
providing fund in the form of loan to build infrastructure that could boost the economic activities. An

Another failed project was in Indonesia where the government borrowed USD600 million to reduce

How To Make Walt Disney World
If you can dream it, you can do it, Walt Disney once said. This man certainly stuck to his word and
proved it with all he did, but especially by creating Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Walter Elias
Walt Disney came into the world on Thursday, December 5th, 1901, in Hermosa Illinois as a product
of Flora and Elias Disney. Flora and Elias Disney had 5 children together, with Walt being the 4th
born last boy the couple had together. As a child and teen, Walt loved drawing, painting, selling his
work, and trains. Going to high school, taking classes at the Chicago Art Institute and even helping the

Secrets of Disney are truly shocking and intriguing. Every year, 2.5 million of those iconic mouse ears
are sold; when placed end to end would stretch across a span of 175 miles. Most people come to
Disney World for the rides, but others come just for the food, Each year they gobble or drink more
than 75 million cokes, 300,000 pounds of popcorn, 10 million hamburgers, 6 million hot dogs, 9
million pounds of French Fries, 13 million bottles of water, 1 million pounds of watermelon, 2.6
million chocolate covered Mickey Mouse ice cream bars, and 1.6 turkey drumsticks(Williams 14). To
keep the magic of Disney World alive, Walt hid over 1,000 Mickey Mouse statues all throughout each
one of his parks. Although these Mickey s are small they are hidden everywhere, so future Disney
guests, keep those eyes open and on the watch. Walt Disney World visitors know that pin trading is
one of the focal points of the trip. Pin trading allows vacationers to have a memorable keepsake so
they will always remember their time at Disney and time to interact with other Disney visitors and

Family guy is one of the most famous adult TV animation at the moment. The show is based on an
American Family living in Rhode Island. The father of the family is called Peter Griffin and the
mother is called Lois. The parents have two teenage kids, namely Chris and Meg. They also have a
dog named Brian. The dog is particularly smart. The family has also adopted a mutant baby called
Stewie who is always trying to get rid of his parents and the children. However, Family guy is by far
the worst TV show to ever hit our screens if evaluated in terms of the quality of picture/animation, its

Family Guy has been marked as racist in its delivery. The examples for this are endless. Each of the
over 2000 Family Guy episodes has some kind of racial joke. An example is an episode featuring
Brian on a date with an African American woman. The date is filled with racist jokes right from the
moment they met. Brian starts by commenting on the color of her skin saying it s a very lovely color.
When the woman introduces herself as Mrs. Parks, Brian comments, like Rosa Parks. On top of that,
during the date, Brian says he loves all black people and if he could take all the black people in the
world, he would buy a farm and let them all just run free (YouTube). Another example features a bar
scene with a horse and an African American man mocking each other. The horse asks rhetorically why
there are very few African American baseball players. He continues to state that is because they are
always stealing bases. Moreover, one week prior to Martin Luther King Day, the show did a skit
showing Martin as a lazy and ignorant janitor who loves to eat fried chicken and watermelons. He
then talks to his boss in an awkward old age black accent. (Gildemeister). African American people
are not the only target of their racism. The show also does racist and stereotype jokes on Asians,
Vietnamese, Africans, Mexicans, Canadians, and Indians among others. An example is a quote by
Peter Griffin where he

Eden Robinson Belonging
A Journey to Acceptance:
A Comparative Analysis of Eden Robinson s Traplines and Joseph Boyden s The Orenda Humans tend
to have the instinctive desire to belong and be a significant member of something greater than
themselves. This sense of belonging is usually provided by family; but what happens when this vital
component of an individual s development is flawed? The main characters in Traplines by Eden
Robinson and The Orenda by Joseph Boyden suffer from this exact predicament. Not only do Will and
Snow Falls lack a stable family structure, but the feeling of becoming increasingly restrained within
themselves takes a toll on their perception of authentic identity. Even though these characters come
across multiple adversities, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Traplines, the most distinct form of Will s confinement lies in his routine lifestyle that involves
abuse and addiction. An example of this is shown when the text states, On Christmas Eve ... Mom and
Dad will go to a lot of parties and get really drunk. Eric will go to a lot of parties and get really stoned.
Maybe this year I will too (Robinson 458). The certainty behind his prediction suggests that he has
been trapped in a life of such conduct for a prolonged period of time and that he might as well
concede to the destructive path it provides. If the story is viewed through a lens in which Will is of
Native descent, the feeling of being restricted within one s self does not only have an impact of his
sense of self identity, but on other people s perception of him as well. The text states, When he [Mr.
Smythe] reached over, I put my hands up and covered my face. He stopped, then took the phone out of
my hands. It s okay, he said. I won t hurt you. It s okay (Robinson 461), which illustrates how his
constraint to an abusive atmosphere is able to strain his relationships with those that he trusts. Will
also finds himself to be confined in his inability to speak up for himself, as displayed through his
altercations with Eric and when Mr. Smythe incorrectly assumes that more than one member of his
family contributes to his abuse. Although these are two different circumstances, Will s inaction to both
is most likely out of fear for what could result from retaliation. As for The Orenda, it is evident that
Snow Falls often feels trapped within the past, most of which encompasses traumatic experiences.
Even in her death, her deceased family is the first thing that comes to her mind, as presented when the
text states, I remember my mother now, my brother, drumming their legs into the other world

The Country Has Made Over Their Long Living History
There are four international ports that connect the United States to Central America; Juarez is one of
these important four. Juarez once known as Paso del Norte (pass of the north) lies on the Rio Grande
(Rio Bravo del Norte). Juarez was founded in the 1600s and has since been in the top ten largest
populated cities in the world. When people think of Juarez and other cities in Mexico, there are many
stigmas held strongly against them. Nowadays, Mexico is perceived as a dangerous and horrible place
to live. Of course certain assumptions and stereotypes have some validity with the drug cartel,
murders, and high crime rates playing a part in their perception of the country. However, even with the
devastation and crime there is beauty and importance that lies at the very roots of Mexico. In my paper
I wish to express the many positive impacts the country has made over their long living history. Juarez
has been a strong and thriving city with an interesting history of its people, agriculture and the
economy. The history of Juarez starts in the sixteen hundreds, specifically in sixteen fifty nine when it
was known as Paso Del Norte. Spanish explorers sought out a route though the southern part of the
Rocky Mountains. At the time there were Native Americans that had already been located in that area
which made it perfect for explores to establish a community. The community had grown in importance

The Influence Of Society On Victorian Relationships
Talia Bardash
English Thesis Paper
The Influence of Society on Victorian Relationships Afraid of rejection in the Victorian Era, men and
women sought after relationships that agreed with the expectations set by society. Victorian literature
satirized and underscored these expectations and their effects on individuals. During the Victorian Era
relationships were not focused on the emotional aspect of marriage but rather growth in reputation and
status. The characters in Oscar Wilde s works, The Importance of Being Earnest and The Picture of
Dorian Gray, display the consequences of the demanding expectations on the characters behaviors.
Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte, examines the romantic marriage versus the familiar marriage that
would strengthen social and monetary stature. Need closing sentence.
The expectations that society and men had for women during the Victorian Era were onerous. They
limited women from exploring and questioning ideas outside the realm of domesticity. Womens roles
focused solely on getting married and taking part in advancing their husbands interests. The man was
given, by society, an authoritative role over the household leaving very little or no room for women
authority. Prior to marriage, the women, excluding those who were born to a wealthy or noble family,
were trained in housewife skills such as cooking, cleaning and sewing. Wealthy women did not need
to prepare for these tasks because they had maids and other servants take care of

Essay On Auditing
Introduction:
The collapse of small or large organizations in recent years; such as Enron Energy has renewed
interest regarding the issue pertaining to fraudulent financial reports, henceforth the conscious
publication of misleading financial information by management to stakeholders. This interest sparked
debates that highlighted the importance of proper reporting and the role that must be fulfilled by
auditors which is yet to be comprehensively determined and agreed upon by industry leaders,
regulators and governments however according PCAOB Chairman « detecting fraud is the
responsibility of external auditors and that with few exceptions they should find it »(CFO.com 2004).
In deed the responsibility of auditors is being argued ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The change is due to the increase of the size of firms and the volume of transactions, the responsibility
of fraud detection was transferred to the management henceforth internal control.
In the 80 s and because of the technology advancement, the case law declared that in some situations
auditors have the duty to detect fraud.
After the Enron debacle the responsibility of auditors shifted more towards fraud detection as the
scandal highlighted the lack in auditing process with regards to fraud prevention since auditors were
partaking in the fabrication and falsification of accounting statement. Thus auditors legitimized the
falsified financial statement whether through inaptitude to properly conduct their work or conflict of
interest between management and auditors. To sum this view it is important to keep in mind that
researching misrepresentation within financial statement only became recently part of the auditor s
legal obligation.
In a recent research paper, the reason why auditors fail to detect fraud has been highlighted and
exposed through research based methods, by exposing all factor types of auditing failures (Asare,
Wright and Zimmerman 2014, JFIA).
Many causes were revealed by the aforementioned study, primarily, the failure to detect fraud could be
due to the audit process. Hence, the methodology used in conducting audit missions have been rarely
modified and upgraded

the task is. Even if some of the things that I have put in front of me might make me stumble and want
to give up and just not continue through it I want to press through and finish what is out in front of me.
I know that things will get hard and that I will begin to get stressed out but I do not want to let it stop
me from achieving my goal. When I think things are all good and if I slow down that nothing will
happen I want to not allow myself to slow down when the end of the tunnel is near. ... Show more

Jay Gatsby Selfish
F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, There are all types of love in this world but never the same love twice .
This quote alone was directed to Mr. Jay Gatsby, from the famous book, The Great Gatsby. This book
was written in the 1920 s, with the narration of Nick Carraway, who met Jay Gatsby and became fairly
close to him. Nick lived in East Egg neighboring Mr. Jay Gatsby. Living across the bay in West Egg
was, Daisy and Tom Buchanan. Nick is learning how to be non judgemental toward others, however,
with whom he gets along with, they too were privileged. But not Jay Gatsby. In The Great Gatsby, by
F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jay Gatsby is known for being great because he is optimistic and ambitious.
Jay Gatsby is known as the Great Gatsby because of his optimism. He has potential for his future with
the love of his life, Daisy Buchanan. Nick Carraway saw Gatsby on his deck reaching out. He was

something. Do you notice what he s got about improving his mind? He was always great for that

a child, he parents were dirt poor . They had nothing, until James Gatz ran away at age seventeen to
look for his destiny. When he met Dan Cody, he knew this was the start of something huge. So he

conception he was faithful to the end (Fitzgerald 98). He learned everything from Dan Cody, and later

Poetry Should Ride The Bus Essay
Poetry is often dissected until there is nothing left but a tired meaning or beaten down theme left. The
beauty is often lost on the incessant search for a deeper meaning and the flow of the lines and stanzas
is often forgotten in the intrusive prodding to find something more. Both poems, Introduction to
Poetry and Poetry Should Ride the Bus, exemplify this opinion on the study of poetry, and challenge
the traditional views of poetry in the sense that poetry is not there to be a source of deeper meaning.
Rather, it is there to fill the reader with a sense of something more and be a literary treasure written to
beautify the mind and unearth something in the reader. I want them to water ski across the surface of a

Moreover, Forman believes that poetry is everywhere, and surrounds the world in simple, everyday
things, and is even to wear bright red lipstick/n practice kisses in the mirror (Forman 5 6). In her
poem, she describes different scenarios that poetry is present, such as on the bus (Forman 13), and
delinates how it isn t confined to just lines on a page. In contrast to the traditional views of poetry,
Forman theorizes that poetry is not words on a page waiting to be begrudgingly divulged, but is an art
form that can take several different forms, whether that be an act of kindness, love, or simplicity.
Vis à vis, Forman views poetry as an intangible force all around her, and thinks that poetry should

lines. Forman surmises that poetry is revealed in red revolution love songs/that massage your

Research Paper On Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
FETAL ALCOHOL SYNDROME INFANT LEARNING DISABILITIES
Fetal alcohol syndrome is a condition which occurs in infants whose mothers abuse alcohol during
pregnancy. This problem has gathered the increasing attention of the medical establishment in recent
years. Although it is difficult to properly diagnose in the newborn infant, studies have shown that fetal
alcohol syndrome results in a number of mental and physical symptoms, such as below normal birth
weight, length, and I.Q. Children born with the syndrome are also found to have a number of learning
disabilities. Some of these disabilities are related to nursing, and thus they can seriously affect the life
and health of the newborn, and may cause nutritional problems which will in turn affect ... Show more

Approximately one fourth of all infants born with recognizable defects die before they even reach the
age of four weeks (Abel Sokol, 1986, p. 330). Among those who do survive past the first few weeks, it
has been noted that . . . only a suspicion [of fetal alcohol syndrome) can be raised at this early age
(Aronson Olegard, 1985, p. 137). Thus, the real impact of fetal alcohol syndrome often cannot be
determined until the infant s development has been observed for at least one to two years. Some
studies have indicated that the results of tests administered to learning disabled children at the age of
three tend to yield similar results to those of tests given to the same children at the ages of ten months
and eighteen months (Aronson Olegard, 1985, p. 143). However, it has also been stated that many of
the most serious learning disabilities associated with the syndrome cannot be recognized until after the
child has already begun attending school (Abel Sokol, 1986, p.

The Theory Of The Mind Becomes Of Critical Importance
As neuroscience research progresses, the concept of the mind becomes of critical importance. The
mind is usually considered to be a separate, nonmaterial entity compared to the physical neurons
within the brain. However, the field of neuroscience is finding many connections between the physical
nature of the brain and the supposed non physical aspect of the human mind. In a sense, neuroscience
seeks to understand the functioning of the mind in terms of the physical neuronal firings of the brain.
In addition, neuroscience seeks further information concerning the fixity and plasticity of the brain.
The field of neuropsychology was developed in response to these questions. The field of
neuropsychology was born at the beginning of the 20th century, shortly after the end of World War II.
Early neuropsychology was a combination of 20th century neurologist s views and experimental
psychology s new behavioral techniques. The returning veterans from World War II sparked the rapid
growth of the field. Many veterans developed cases of mental illness from their exposure to the
horrors of war. Thus, the field of neuropsychology was born in response to a medical need. The rush
in neuropsychology did not slow after World War II, but rather transitioned into the study of cognition.
Early neuropsychology studies of cognition generally investigated the topics of memory and visual
perception. For example, neurophysiologists David Hubel and Thorsten Wiesel studied the vision of
cats via

Communities Are Human Groups, Networks, And Associations...
I. Introduction According to Brueggemann (2014) Communities are natural human groups, networks,
and associations of people related to one another by at least one common or compelling factor in more
or less loosely linked forms of connection (p.142). Communities are not only a place where a group of
people cohabitate but a linkage among people sharing common interests and activities. In every
community there are social workers that advocate on the behalf of the vulnerable and oppressed
population. A social worker needs to become familiar with the communities that their clients reside in,
to better provide local resources and aid to clients. In every community there are resources and assets
that could be used to improve its social environment. For example, many communities have programs
like the YMCA that promotes youth development and communication among people living in the
community. In addition, a social worker that provides direct services to client needs to be aware of the
resources available within the community and the population seeking the assistance. By identifying
which people live in a certain community, social workers could develop cultural humility and have a
better understanding of their client s values, morals and heritage. Having this knowledge is crucial
since some resources are specifically tailored to certain groups. For instance, some senior centers
provide meals, transportation, and employment assistance for the elderly. Knowing the population that

Roberto Clemente Research Paper
The sound of the swish of a basketball, the crack of bat, and the kick of goal, are of many sports
played in America, today. Athletes across America have made an impact in sports, but Hispanic
athletes have made achievements beyond the imagination of an American athlete. Athletes like
Roberto Clemente, Hall of Fame baseball player from Puerto Rico, Miguel Cotto, champion boxer,
and Juan Pablo Montoya, NASCAR driver are athletes that have gone above and beyond their dreams
and turned it into a reality. The Hispanic athletes of yesterday, and the ones of today have made
achievements and have won awards that have made an impact on people s lives today. Roberto Walker
Clemente, a man from a small island with the heart of a champion, became a phenomenal baseball
player during his time. Roberto Clemente was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico on August 18, 1934.

The Success Of Southwest Airline Company Essay
This week s case study is regarding the success of Southwest Airline Company. It was interesting to
read and see the success of Southwest uncovered. Reading these case studies it brings a different
approach to management. With this case, it shows how we have to be brave enough to step out of the
normal and go with our passion and calling in life. Herbert Kelleher was not your typical CEO. It was
fun, outgoing, witty and goofy.
1.
a. Airline customers are segmented in different groups: airlines must use the following criteria in order
to target their specific customers: identifiability, size, accessibility, growth potential, and absence of
vulnerability to competition:
i. Visit friends traveler ii. Independent traveler iii. Senior Traveler iv. Business
b. Southwest would try to market to all of them. However, would not appeal to the bigger business
owners. I would assume your higher companies they would want prefer first class with extended
options.
2. The decision to increase expansion on long hauls I think was a great idea. It not only open the door
to become profitable but also help keep their customers happy. Not everyone needed to fly short
distance. The only drawback I see is that the flights are uncomfortable and no food after five hours can
cause passengers to get cranky. However, if it is at half the price than you know what you are signing
up for.

Hip Hop And Hip Rap Music
The study of hip hop music has been cited well throughout its growth over time. The purpose of this
paper is intended to discuss hip hop culture and address cultural stereotypes associated with rap and
hip hop music, but also how its original lyrical intentions were forms of expression and art. It will
begin by guiding the reader through how it originated, its influence with the African Americans with
its subculture and popularity in urban areas, its styles of evolving, the introduction of hip hop and rap
to the public, the depiction it gave off with its criticisms from outsiders. An evaluation of hip hop
artists songs by Sugar Hill and the Gang, Run DMC, Queen Latifah, and N.W.A. Including lyrics from
the songs Rappers Delight , King of Rock , Latifah s Law , and Niggaz4Life . In the conclusion it
exposes how hip hop music is clearly for black Americans to express themselves freely and in fact did
not cause violence.
Hip hop cannot be understood by just examining how the artists might carry themselves or just their
lyrics alone. The uniting of hip hop in to society gave accommodations in an integrated generation of
young Americans and it changed the racial dynamics in the United States. Even though you might not
be born in the 70 s when hip hop was originated, it has become a part of our generation and has stuck
around ever since. This paper is written with the intentions to prove how the evolution of hip hop or
rap music has ultimately made America

The Florida Public Hurricane Loss Model
The engineering component of the Florida Public Hurricane Loss Model predicts wind and rain
damage to a variety of modelled building configurations in an effort to model hurricane losses. The
program uses a Monte Carlo approach to probabilistically simulating damage to the exterior
components of the models, but currently assigns costs to the damaged components deterministically.
This implementation does not capture variations in component costs and building values. This paper
investigates replacing the deterministic costing with probabilistic relationships to more accurately
reflect the uncertainty of the vulnerability outputs. The results indicate that cost variations do not
significantly impact the variation of the vulnerability results. The conclusion of the paper presents
possible explanations for this and recommendations for further investigation.
The Florida Public Hurricane Loss Model (FPHLM) is a catastrophe model that predicts hurricane
related insured losses to residential infrastructure in the state of Florida. Currently, the model analyses
three different types of properties: personal residential buildings (single family buildings), commercial
residential low rise buildings (multi family buildings), and commercial residential mid/high rise
buildings (buildings in excess of 3 stories that house multiple families). The models consist of a
meteorological (hazard) component, an engineering (building vulnerability) component, and an
actuarial component.

Analysis Of The Song Drifting Through The Waves
Amey Kamat Writing 151 Prof. Domitteo November 13, 2014 Drifting Through the Waves Water has
been a main factor through human histories life. Our human body is composed mostly of water. Water
helps our body by regulating the body s temperature, hydrating the body, help clean the body and help
lubricate your bones. People don t know that you can use water for other purposes such as water
rehabilitation. So to top it all off the Song waves by Mr. Probz was a great edition to this paper. The
song Waves is about how a guy that recently broke up with his girlfriend and he s having trouble
forgetting her. At the beginning of the song Mr. Probz wakes up on a beach right in the shallow part of
the water. To me it symbolizes that the beach and water are there to help patch his wounds by
forgetting his girlfriend. So with that water rehabilitation is mainly used to help build back your
strength, endurance, posture, mobility, and many more. Water rehabilitation is used for major or even
the simplest injuries. Injuries and injured parts of your body tend to use water rehabilitation are
ACL/MCL strains, arthritis, chronic pain, neck, shoulder, back, strokes, knees and neurological
disabilities. There have been many athletes that have used water rehabilitation or aquatic rehab to help
rehabilitate their body from major injuries. Aquatic rehabilitation is one of the most useful types of
rehabilitation and can be much more relaxing then other rehabilitation techniques. Aquatic

Being A Reasonable Thinker
Being a reasonable thinker is a strategy that has benefit me. Working at a church could look like
working at a place that everybody has everything worked out. That is not even close in my experience.
People often thing that because we follow a faith that we will overlook things and let things go. I had a
time when I was working with young people in a competition to get scholarships within the church.
The competition is very hard and very physical. Being reasonable help me keep my cool when my
superiors would walk into my practices and ask me to do things that were not safe or physically
impossible for the kids that I had. I knew that I could ask these kids to do that. I was not going to
compromise their health because they wanted to win a competition.

partner violence: a systematic review and meta analysis. Trauma Violence Abuse, 16(1), 60 69. doi:

The authors of this recently published review paper studied the outcomes of six randomized control
trials. These trails used several tools for screening to identify Intimate partner violence. Specifically,
they were interested in examining the rates of intimate partner violence disclosure among adult
women when computer 18 assisted, self assisted, and face to face interview screening were used to
disclose intimate partner violence. There were no significant differences in the outcomes of the study
when compared to studying the women who were screened face to face than those that used self
administered screenings. The studies did show however, that studies which used a computer assisted
screening tool had greater odds of disclosure more than the face to face interviews. Given the
sensitivities of disclosing intimate partner violence, this data suggests methods by which screening
women may be advantageous. This study relevancy is important due to the data on the research on the
best participants in a study on victims of intimate partner violence.

comfort in our small town. I was able to form a relationship with a family that occupied one of my

their belonging were left at home. The only things the large family was able to bring was what could

Social Norms And Violatio Folktales
As society we have never given much thought as to how we function to how society . This statement
is not only true on a macro level, such as how our government functions along with other aspects of
society but also as individuals. Furthermore, we as individuals rarely stop to think about the reasons
we have to react the way we do in certain situations. It can be almost guaranteed that we react in these
ways because of norms. Norms can be defined as expectations of right behavior (Henslin 2015).
Norms such as these can be shaped by society, government or culture. These norms can also bring

think of a young adult around the age of 23 we think of someone who may be easily embarrassed or
very aware of what the public might think or say. We may also think of this norm violation as a
sanction or someone s expression of approval for upholding a norm or expressions of disapproval for
violating a norm (Henslin 2015). This can occur from those individuals who expect a grown adult to
act as such. This occurred with those who disapproved the teacher and stared at her in a disapproving.
Furthermore, those who just laughed might have done it being mean or because they just take life
lightly. As for the one person who just asked about her attire he might have done it so he would not

  • 3. Loie Fuller s Dance Critique Critique 1 On Friday, September 11th at 7:00 PM, I attended Dancestry by the Shay Ishii Dance Company. This performance was held by Texas State University s Department of Theatre and Dance. The vision for the performance was to take modern dance pioneers and highlighting their work and contributions. The first segment of the night was highlighting Loie Fuller. Fuller was a choreographer and dancer of a unique and beautiful style of dance, using dazzling and flowing silk dresses. Her breakthrough in what became known as Serpentine Dance . In Friday s performance, it was evident that the beauty of the dance wasn t because of the flowing dresses, but the lighting used to create beautiful images. When the performance started, I was very confused. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her tribute consisted of three movements from Chopin Suite. All of them involved three young women. The unique thing about these dances that separated them from the others showcased was that I was actually able to follow them. They were more story like than the rest. Duncan s dance style was similar to Fuller in that she utilized flowing scarves and dresses to enhance the dances. This part of the show was my favorite, I love dances that tell a clear cut story, and Isadora Duncan s style of dance allowed for that to happen. The last segment of the night was highlighting the work of Erick Hawkins. Hawkins vision consisted of unique dancing, costuming, and overall style of performance. He utilized traditions from New Zealand tribes in his work. I personally was not a fan of the Hawkins performances. There was a lot of nonsensical movements, and there was just too much going on the stage. Although there was only the one stage, there were at times so many separate movements going on at once, it seemed that there were 3 or 4 separate stages. I can see the appeal that some audience members could have had in viewing this dance style, though. The music was very interesting, and the costumes even more so. I was reminded at times of the Lion King. There were leaping antelope, huge porcupines, and several fish all dancing on the stage. Although I wasn t very interested in Hawkin s dance style, ... The author explain his arguments with the example of Warren Harding, one of the worst presidents in American history an incompetent man who, Gladwell argues, only won the election because he had been considered as dazzle personality for presidency. Introduction For the better part of the 20th century, those convicted of crimes and sentenced to serve time in prison, who also have an addiction have been treated unfairly. Substance use disorder has been viewed as a disease for decades now, and despite this, this disease is not being treated in America s prison systems properly. The recent sentencing of Cameron Douglas, son of legendary actor Michael Douglas, to four and one half years additionally in federal prison has brought this crucial injustice to light. Cameron was serving a five year sentence for various drug related charge and is an admitted addict of intravenous cocaine and heroin. Heroin was discovered in the cell he resided in, and in an unprecedented legal proceeding, Judge Richard Berman gave Cameron the longest sentence on record for a prisoner found to have drugs while incarcerated. Instead of receiving much needed treatment for his disorder, Cameron will spend nearly the same amount of time in prison as his original sentence called for. The Numbers Drug use and abuse is not a new problem for America s prison system, and is one which speaks to the larger issue corrupting the judicial system as a whole. As of 2013, of those prisoners serving at least a year long sentence, 51 percent (98,200) of them were serving for drug offenses (Carson, 2014). To contrast the incarcerated with those on probation and parole, some 25 percent (977,662) of the 3.9 million people on probation were charged with drug ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This sense of belonging is usually provided by family; but what happens when this vital component of an individual s development is flawed? The main characters in Traplines by Eden Robinson and The Orenda by Joseph Boyden suffer from this exact predicament. In Traplines, the most distinct form of Will s confinement lies in his routine lifestyle that involves abuse and addiction. An example of this is shown when the text states, On Christmas Eve ... The certainty behind his prediction suggests that he has been trapped in a life of such conduct for a prolonged period of time and that he might as well concede to the destructive path it provides. If the story is viewed through a lens in which Will is of Native descent, the feeling of being restricted within one s self does not only have an impact of his sense of self identity, but on other people s perception of him as well. The text states, When he [Mr. Smythe] reached over, I put my hands up and covered my face. He stopped, then took the phone out of my hands. It s okay, he said. I won t hurt you. It s okay (Robinson 461), which illustrates how his constraint to an abusive atmosphere is able to strain his relationships with those that he trusts. Will also finds himself to be confined in his inability to speak up for himself, as displayed through his altercations with Eric and when Mr. Smythe incorrectly assumes that more than one member of his family contributes to his abuse. Although these are two different circumstances, Will s inaction to both is most likely out of fear for what could result from retaliation. As for The Orenda, it is evident that Snow Falls often feels trapped within the past, most of which encompasses traumatic experiences. The mind is usually considered to be a separate, nonmaterial entity compared to the physical neurons within the brain. However, the field of neuroscience is finding many connections between the physical nature of the brain and the supposed non physical aspect of the human mind. In a sense, neuroscience seeks to understand the functioning of the mind in terms of the physical neuronal firings of the brain. In addition, neuroscience seeks further information concerning the fixity and plasticity of the brain. The field of neuropsychology was developed in response to these questions. The field of neuropsychology was born at the beginning of the 20th century, shortly after the end of World War II. Early neuropsychology was a combination of 20th century neurologist s views and experimental psychology s new behavioral techniques. The returning veterans from World War II sparked the rapid growth of the field. Many veterans developed cases of mental illness from their exposure to the horrors of war. Thus, the field of neuropsychology was born in response to a medical need. The rush in neuropsychology did not slow after World War II, but rather transitioned into the study of cognition. Introduction According to Brueggemann (2014) Communities are natural human groups, networks, and associations of people related to one another by at least one common or compelling factor in more or less loosely linked forms of connection (p.142). Communities are not only a place where a group of people cohabitate but a linkage among people sharing common interests and activities. In every community there are social workers that advocate on the behalf of the vulnerable and oppressed population. A social worker needs to become familiar with the communities that their clients reside in, to better provide local resources and aid to clients. In every community there are resources and assets that could be used to improve its social environment. For example, many communities have programs like the YMCA that promotes youth development and communication among people living in the community. In addition, a social worker that provides direct services to client needs to be aware of the resources available within the community and the population seeking the assistance. By identifying which people live in a certain community, social workers could develop cultural humility and have a better understanding of their client s values, morals and heritage. Having this knowledge is crucial since some resources are specifically tailored to certain groups. • 33. Being A Reasonable Thinker Being a reasonable thinker is a strategy that has benefit me. Working at a church could look like working at a place that everybody has everything worked out. That is not even close in my experience. People often thing that because we follow a faith that we will overlook things and let things go. I had a time when I was working with young people in a competition to get scholarships within the church. The competition is very hard and very physical. Being reasonable help me keep my cool when my superiors would walk into my practices and ask me to do things that were not safe or physically impossible for the kids that I had. I knew that I could ask these kids to do that. I was not going to compromise their health because they wanted to win a competition. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These trails used several tools for screening to identify Intimate partner violence. Specifically, they were interested in examining the rates of intimate partner violence disclosure among adult women when computer 18 assisted, self assisted, and face to face interview screening were used to disclose intimate partner violence. There were no significant differences in the outcomes of the study when compared to studying the women who were screened face to face than those that used self administered screenings. The studies did show however, that studies which used a computer assisted screening tool had greater odds of disclosure more than the face to face interviews. Given the sensitivities of disclosing intimate partner violence, this data suggests methods by which screening women may be advantageous. This study relevancy is important due to the data on the research on the best participants in a study on victims of intimate partner violence. Lacey, Krim K ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This statement is not only true on a macro level, such as how our government functions along with other aspects of society but also as individuals. Furthermore, we as individuals rarely stop to think about the reasons we have to react the way we do in certain situations. It can be almost guaranteed that we react in these ways because of norms.
