Essay about Capital Markets and Investment Banking Process
Capital Markets and Investment Banking Process Capital Markets and Investment Banking Process
The investment environment is vast and can be overwhelming if not entered into correctly. Firm s
issuing new securities to enhance revenues understand the complexities and risks involved when
entering the primary market, and will employ investment bankers to mitigate those risks. Described
throughout this paper is the investment banking process and portfolio construction, factors for
selecting the portfolio asset classes, the capital market instruments used in portfolio construction, and
recommendations for the composition of an investment portfolio. Investment Banking Process and

This is an important factor to consider when deciding asset classes because asset classes that perform
better long term, such as stocks, could create a portfolio loss if the investor had only required a short
term investment and sold the stocks too soon while they were down (Investor Guide, 2010). If the
investor had realized their short term time horizon they could have purchased securities in the money
market, such as a U.S. Treasury Bill, and avoided the portfolio loss. The last factor to consider in
creating an investment portfolio, and during the asset allocation process, is the level of the investors
risk tolerance. The risk tolerance factor is very important to consider because depending on the level
of risk the investor is willing to take on will determine the asset class with the best suited securities,
and the level of diversification needed to maintain that desired level of risk. Creating an investment
portfolio can be overwhelming for investors when deciding on the asset classes that work best for their
portfolio. However, during the asset allocation process investors should consider three factors in their
investment needs to aid in the elimination of the asset classes that least fit those needs. An investor
that factors in their goals, investment time horizon, and level of risk tolerance will narrow down the
asset classes that will likely meet their investment

A Research Field On My Life Career
Research is a very important aspect of any professional field that many students fail to notice. As far
as my understanding, backbone of any professional field consists of two important parts, the academic
part; knowledge and practical aspect, and the research part. The academic part helps the professionals
to apply the knowledge in the practical life, but the research part is the one that provides all the
knowledge and does mostly all the behind the scene work. That is why it would be preferred for every
student in their respective discipline to participate and explore research in their respective field. This is
the reason as to why I want to participate in the research field relating to my Medicine career.
Research is very useful because it helps in expanding previous knowledge and adding new knowledge
for any particular discipline. Not only that, research helps students to get the better understanding of
what they are studying in classes and lectures. It provides student the background knowledge of the
stuff they learn in a classroom. This prepares students to expand their horizon, think outside the box,
critically analyze using the scientific method, and helps students to use their behind the scene
knowledge to experiment and discover new things. Thus research ultimately helps in the adding new
knowledge to the disciple.
My academic goal is to get a bachelor degree in biomedical sciences and biotechnology from the
University of Central Florida and then apply to medical

Similarities Between Cat People And Cat People
Both
Jacques Tourneur s 1942 film Cat People, along with Gunther von Fritsch 1944 follow up, Curse of
the Cat People, remain legendary pieces of artistic restraint. While many horror films of the era
painted their monsters in broad strokes, Both Cat People films play like steady handed psychological
dramas; maneuvering in the shadows with subtle detail and control. While the films dutifully touch on
a wide array of themes, I believe each picture has an overarching theme Cat People s theme being the
fear of women/women s sexual agency and sexual repression, while The Curse of the Cat People
about imagination and parenting. I will be picking scenes from each film that I feel reinforce these
themes.

SCENE 1: (55:50 58:09)
Dr. Judd sits in his office, questioning our protagonist, Irena. He stands up and sits on his desk, now
above her asserting a dominate position. In an attempt to put a hole in her narrative, while at the same
time making a subtle sexual advance, the doctor asks, And if I should kiss you? Clearly she is
uncomfortable. Irena is telling the truth, she loves her husband and just wants to be helped however,
Dr. Judd tells her that she is bordering insanity; he tells her to forget about her fears and live her life.
She begins to believe him. In a sense he fixes her by gas lighting her fears and making her out to be an
irrational woman. Once Irena is off balance, he reverts to his charming self again. In the BFI Film

Outline For The Catcher In The Rye
At the beginning of the story, Holden is introduced as an apathetic person. He has failed four out of
five of his classes and has received a notice that he is being expelled at Pencey Prep school in
Agerstown, Pennsylvania. Holden was scheduled to return home on a Wednesday, so he decided to go
and visit Mr. Spencer, his history teacher, to say his goodbye. Mr. Spencer advises Holden to find
direction in his life, which got Holden annoyed and dismissed everything Mr.Spencer has said. Holden
returns to his dormitory, where he finds his neighbor, Robert Ackley and Ward Stradlater, a arrogant
and self centered slob. Stradlater then asks Holden to write an English paper for him, while he
prepares for his date with Jane Gallagher, a girl whom Holden has a crush on and used to date. When
Stradlater returns, Holden asks Stradlater if he tried any sexual act with Jane. Stradlater tease Holden
by indicating that he might have had sex with her, which result Holden becoming angry and punching
Stradlater. That night Holden decide to leave Pencey and return to New York, where he would stay in
a hotel instead of going home. When Holden arrives at the Edmont Hotel, Holden sees a transvestite
and a couple who spits drinks onto each other s faces and started to laugh like crazy. He interprets the

Reflection Paper On Public Relations
Throughout the semester, the speakers have reaffirmed the fact that I would like to go into Public
Relations. They have told me everything I already know about the business including writing is key
and that networking is important. However, they have also mentioned things that I had not yet thought
of before such as business papers are a lifesaver, charity is a must, getting to know your client is
important and plenty more. Being able to hear first hand about the business and what it takes to be
successful in the future has helped me prepare for any future jobs or internships. In our first class with
a speaker, Kelly Rossman discussed about while the social media and writing is a key aspect of Public
Relations you must also look at the business part of Public Relations. The business aspect you should
have includes partner agreements, no competition contracts, confidentiality agreements and more. All
of these things help your business run smoothly and ensure that your customers are protected. When
dealing with people you never know what is going to happen because they are so unpredictable.
Having the safety guard to protect you is not only important for your business but for yourself also. It
gives you peace at mind knowing that if you were to wake up the next morning to bad news at least
you have something to fall back on. This will help you focus on being the best Public Relations
specialist you can be and take away unnecessary worry. Going forward I will make sure that

Differences Between Igbo And American Culture
Igbo and Americans share various cultural aspects, such as language, and weddings. Although the two
cultures are not alike completely they do have some similarities. The Igbo and American cultures have
many commonalities and differences. In the Igbo culture language is regularly used to express honor
towards one another. They have a unique way of addressing each other, and their Gods.

Boston Massacre Happened
What Really Happened at the Boston Massacre It was a cool night in Boston in early march. I was
passing by the customs house while a group of boys began to yell and hollering at some British
soldiers. As the boys continued the soldiers began to fluster, so much to the point that he strikes one of
the boys with his rifle. And as soon as I can blink, I was in the middle of a crowd surrounding the
soldier. As the crowd grew, more soldiers came to his side. The crowd started to get out of control so
one of the soldiers picked up his musket and fired into the crowd and so his allies followed suit with
one of the musket shots nearly missing me. All of the citizens run in all directions and the crowd
nearly trampling children. I returned home and later discovered that the soldiers were placed under
house arrest and soon after taken to jail and charged for the death of several people. As things heated
up in court, more and more British soldiers arrived in Boston. They did this to bring peace to Boston
but it did not do that it all. It did the exact opposite and caused even more chaos. And as chaos spread

the number of soldiers that witnesses say shot somebody. Then I focused on what was said. Witnesses

3 overall objectives, political climate, and pre feasibility studies. In the development phase, the
discussion addresses the overall planning, feasibility studies, financing, and conceptual design. In the
implementation phase, the discussion addresses detailed design, construction, installation, testing, and
commissioning. Finally, in the closeout phase, the discussion reflects on overall performance,
settlement of claims, financial status, and post project evaluation.
The Inception Phase
During the inception phase, the initial scope of the Chunnel was to create a fixed transportation link
between England and France. The expectation was that this would spur economic development,
improve European trade, and provide an alternative high speed transportation method to the existing
modes (planes and ferry boats).
In 1984, the British and French governments agreed to some common safety, environmental, and
security concerns prior to opening up the project to bidders. In 1985, the French and British
governments asked for proposals. Various proposals were submitted, and in 1986 the project was

Child Labor Reform Movement Essay
During the 1900s, America s children went to school and played. Children spent their summer in the
sun by doing outside activities like swimming as well as reading books and enjoying an ice cream
break. However, as recently as the early years of this century, there were many poor children that did
not live the same lifestyle. These children did not have time to play because they spent their days in
factories, coalmines, and in fields. Over two million children in America under the age of 16 had jobs
that consisted of twelve hours without stopping. Many children were forced to work because many
came from poor families who needed the extra help. The brutal conditions of working long hours and
unsafe environments lead some individuals to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Identity Of The American Identity
The American culture is made up of bits and pieces combined into one American Identity. Throughout
the process of finding this identity, came with courage, religion, and fear. These three concepts
provide compelling examples and experiences that have shaped Americans into the best country there
is. Having courage in life is often half the battle. John Smith encounters so many hardships that prove
he dares to keep pursuing his goal. Eventually, after defeating and beheading a succession of three
Turkish officers in single combat in Rumania, Smith was wounded in battle, taken as a prisoner and
sold into slavery to a Turk. Smith was passed from place to place until held prisoner on the Black Sea,
he murdered his master and fled back to Rumania via Russia and Poland, returning to England in the
winter of 1604 05. (Smith, pp. 82). Most people at this point would typically become slightly
discouraged because he has gotten beaten up and is questioning if he can accomplish this or fail. The
lesson we should take from Smith in this story is that no matter how hard things get if you have a goal
achieve it. There will defiantly be hardships that come your way, but nothing in this life comes easy.
For example, the British encounter many hardships such as hunger, sickness, and unfamiliarity. Being
thrown into adapting to new situations is often hard. The natives saw many things they were not
accustomed to, a few of which include, muskets, clothes, horses, compasses, and

provided by music is that it allowed people to discuss their dissatisfaction with the American dream of

looking out of his window at the city he lives in. He describes a fog that surrounds the town as that of
a smoke like nature. Many men are walking along the streets covered in soot, smoke, and they were
covered in black. The narrator goes on to describe that they were working in the metal factories all
night, slaving over boiling cauldrons of metal and that during the day, they normally are in a state of
drunkenness and infamy. There is smoke coming from the chimneys of the iron foundries, which is
where all the smoke and fog came from. The unnamed narrator goes on to describe a story about life

In the time of the Butterflies, by Julia Alverez, is a story about love. This story also
reviels how the Mirabel sisters get involved in the revolution against Trujillo s politics and how
they deal with their family and friends in the meanwhile. It is remarkable and catching story
because it explains how these sisters achieve liberty throughout their union during a terrible reign
where women have few rights and brave people are massacred because there s no freedom of

uncomfortably in that prison because their cellmates don t get that opportunity to be free. In this
case, they make this decision out of the act of love; not completely ignoring their role in the
revolution by staying in prison, but postponing that responsibility until they get freed the way
they think is right. One of the sisters, Dédé, truly proves herself as a strong and caring woman for
her sisters when she declares to be Minerva to the SIM, showing less fear of being in trouble with

Legal Positivism Over Natural Law Theory
Introduction This article discusses the conceptions of legal normativity, both moral and strictly legal
conceptions. According to Spaak, regarding the normative force of legal justification, legal positivists
can still embrace the moral idea and not be in conflict with their generally held belief in the strictly
legal concept of law. In Torben Spaak s opinion, there is a reason to desire legal positivism; he
explains this through introducing the concept of jurisprudence. When discussing the nature of law,
Spaak states, that while the moral conception is what is likely favored on a smaller scale, the strictly
legal conception is more appealing because it is broader, (478). Spaak is arguing, his belief that
validity based explanations come nearer to the truth, (483) rather than belief based explanations. He
concludes that we are to prefer legal positivism over natural law theory. That is why in this article I
have been concerned with the law itself rather than our views about it. (483) Spaak actually states that
his focus has been exclusively on the law rather than people s opinions of the law. He does not appear
to be consistent in this focus. Rather, he fluctuates many times between agreeing and disagreeing with
whether morals have a base in law itself or in just the application or theory of law.
Summary I agree mostly with what Ronald Dworkin is quoted as stating in this article. His opinion of
the moral conception of law s normativity (479) is what

Protein Recovery
There are three separate discussions that cover protein basics, protein for recovery and protein during
exercise. Dr. Martin Gibala, Dr. Jeff Zachwieja and Dr. Chris Rosenbloom are three peer reviewed
experts that help provide answers to common questions concerning protein and its role in an athlete s
diet. The first discussion covers the basics of protein. Amino acids are the building blocks that bind
protein together. According to Dr. Zachwieja there are specific sequences of amino acids that gives the
protein its structure, its integrity, and, ultimately, its functionality as well. Dr. Rosenbloom explains,
the body requires roughly 20 amino acids. Nine of the 20 can not be created by our bodies, they can

Dr. Zachwieja explains four studies have been published that are worthy because they were peer
reviewed cases. Two out of three of these studies have shown benefits of protein during exercise,
where the other two has not. Zachwieja states there is no benefit for consuming carbs and protein
during exercise. Dr. Gibala agrees with Zachwieja, there is little evidence supporting 4 to 1
carbohydrate to protein is beneficial. However, Gibala believes adding protein to an athlete s diet can
add energy to perform longer. According to Dr. Rosenbloom, there are carbohydrate needs and protein
needs and fluids, and we have to make sure we meet those necessities around the training schedule
(cite). He also, states protein is not a good source of fuel for the body. Rosenbloom explains, the
primary source of energy comes from the consumption of carbohydrates, however protein and
hydration is necessary for recovery and energy. I agree with Rosenbloom, our body requires a
combination of carbohydrates, proteins and fluids to meet the demands of our training schedule. Also,
I believe consuming protein during exercise might benefit us by providing additional energy,
especially on high intensity and volume workouts, long distance running and cycling. However,
predominately, carbohydrate is king when it comes to supplying energy for the body, then fat, and the
third choice is amino acids from protein. The amount

Like The Greedy Wolf Analysis
In the years of 1807 to 1831, tragedy struck for The Blackfoot Indians, the British, and American
citizens. In Like the Greedy Wolf, the article focuses more on the history and events people assume
took place at the time, but did these events actually happen? The article does not go into detail on the
impact it made upon the leaders and people involved, nor does it give the most accurate, in stone
details. This article places emphases on a collection of documents rather than an informational article.
In paragraph one, disaster hit the city of St. Louis on the fifteenth of July in 1823. News eventually
spread by the Missouri Republican. The newspaper stated, The Blackfoot had attacked trappers on the
Yellowstone River near the Crow village. The newspaper goes along to explain the attack on the
leaders, Robert Jones and Michael Immell. It is explained after these two were shot down, the soldiers
fighting under the two leaders, had no guidance. These soldiers were quickly slaughtered and robbed

an article, then it is presumed to be accurate and true. Also, the use of the word, they, should not be

GOD Personal Statement
I started my journey working for an adult behavioral program at our local hospital. I worked there for
5 years with amazing people. I now work for a substance abuse facility as support staff that treats not
only the substance abuse but the mental health of the clients as well. I have seen the love and caring
that the counselors have for their clients. They have helped me understand the problems that the
clients are going through. I have become aware of the link between addiction and mental health. These
amazing ladies have inspired me to want to help and hopefully bring my faith in GOD as basis for my
career in counseling. I feel led in this direction, GOD has put me in this position to witness and help
people through his love and mercy. I have traveled many roads ... Show more content on

Because of their dedication and caring for the people coming into this facility it has made such a
difference in the client s positive road to recovery. I have seen many transformations in some of the
client s and have seen some fail because they are not ready to make the commitment to change. It
breaks my heart to see this happen. I know all I can do is pray for them. I do believe that all things are
possible through Jesus Christ. I have been asked to pray for family members from some of the girls
which I am more than happy to do. I hope that I am a positive example of GOD s love through the
action of my life. I have had many trials in my life and GOD has always seen me through them no
matter how difficult they were. The clients and other employees are often curious how come I take bad
things with a smile and keep going. My husband and I often talk about how thankful we are to have
GOD in our lives we see how people without GOD react in similar situations. In closing I am so
blessed and thankful that GOD has put the people I work with and come in contact with at work in my
life. May GOD bless you and I am looking forward to starting my new

Essay about The Role of Humanism in the Poems of E.E....
It can be said that poetry is very much like its poet, seeing as they both contain two different sides:
one that is seen while taking your very first glance and another that can only be unearthed and
understood through the study of its underlying influences. So it is not unusual that in order to gain a
complete and comprehensive outlook on a poem, one must first study nonfiction sources to see the
motivation and purpose behind each chosen word. E.E. Cumming s works, a notable World War I era
poet of the modernist movement, were heavily affected by the hatred and atrocities of warfare, which
is seen in the way that his resentment towards humanity grows within this period, and thusly reflects
in the poems he created around this time. One of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What gives the largest intimation as to the complete message of Cummings poem is the clearly
evident satirical tone that Cummings often uses when the subject matter of his poem is something that
disgusts him. Cummings writes,
Humanity i love you/ because you would rather black the boots of/ success than enquire whose soul
dangles from his/ watch chain which would be embarrassing for both/ parties... (Cummings 1 5)
Here, Cummings basically, with much added sarcasm, says he loves how humanity would rather shine
and maintain a rich aristocrat s shoes rather than think of the many commoners who are under his beck
and call. Such a habit of subjecting a person to the members of the higher class is not an action
deserving praise, which outlines the use of satire within this first example Cummings uses. Cummings
continues in another stanza with the use of his sardonic speech. Humanity i love you because/ when
you re hard up you pawn your/ intelligence to buy a drink ... (Cummings 9 11). Such a statement
chastises humanity for degrading themselves to drinking and defiling their intelligence when they are
having a hard time, which further contradicts the Humanity i love you... he uses to begin each
statement. Both these devices of using capitalization for emphasis of the word Humanity and of the
cynical tone depicted in the word choice both make up the theme of this poem: that ultimately, the
fortunate are irreverent and that society s

Summer Camp Descriptive Essay
Summer Camp The bus decelerated to a stop and we were there, Crystal Lake. I wasn t there willingly,
but my parents made me go with my cousin, Sandra. They said that this would help bring me closer to
God, but I think they just needed a break from me. I ve always detested summer camp, especially the
ones from church. The kids from there are always so annoying, and I m forced to put up with them for
a whole week. When we got to the camp, it was about 5:30. The group leaders assigned our cabins,
which consisted of four bunk beds, two dressers, and a small couch. After that, we all went on a hike
and came back for dinner. I was exhausted, and honestly, I was already over it. After, everyone
showered and got settled into their cabins. All ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sun was setting, and the lake sparkled under the remaining sunlight, reflecting the sky s pink and
orange hues. It was beautiful here but i still longed to be home. My thoughts were almost interrupted
when i saw it. There, on the other side of the lake stood the strange woman, staring directly at me.
Are you alright? inquired Sandra. I froze. I didn t know what to tell her. I debated whether or not I
should say something. I stayed quiet for a moment, then, I finally answered her.
Yeah, I m fine why? I replied. Sandra tilted her head and looked at me for a moment.
You seem a little...off. Are you sure you re alright? she asked, once again.
Mhm, I m fine, I told her. She looked at me for a moment then just nodded. I wasn t fine though, I felt
uneasy. When it got later, we went to our cabin, and once again, the girls stayed up talking while I
listened to my music. I turned up the volume all the way and tried, unsuccessfully to get the thought
out of my mind. I wasn t sure why she was there, or if she was even a threat, but the way she just
stood there staring at me creeped me out. The thought kept poking at me so out of curiosity, I went up
to the window and opened the curtains. I examined the forest and searched to see if the woman was
there. I was determined to find her, but she wasn t there. I went back to my bed, but I couldn t fall
asleep. The bed was too hard, the pillow was too soft, the blanket was too thick, but that

Mayan Math History
Like each other part of human advancement, mathematics has its own particular birthplace focused
around the needs of humanity in searching for understanding. Mathematics emerged from the
necessity to quantify time and number. The earliest evidence of counting occurred in mountains of
Africa were notched bones and scored pieces of wood and stone were discovered. As human
advancements started to surface in Asia and the near east, frameworks and essential appreciation of
arithmetic, geometry and polynomial math started to develop. Mathematics has made a lot of progress
from the first evidence of counting in 50,00 B.C to the current utilization of math all over the place

The importance of astronomy and calendar (18 months a year; 20 days a month) calculations to the
Mayans required mathematics, which lead them create an advanced number system of its time. The
system was on base 20 and most times base 5, which very likely originated from counting on fingers
and toes. The numerals consisted of only three symbols: zero was represented as a shell shape, one, a
dot and five a bar, so calculation was basically adding or subtracting bars and dots. In spite of not
having the idea of a division, they delivered greatly exact cosmic perceptions utilizing no instruments
other than sticks in form of crosses to view astronomical objects and had the capacity measure the
length of the sunlight based year to a far higher level of exactness than that utilized as a part of Europe
(their computations created 365.242 days, contrasted with the cutting edge estimation of 365.242198),
and in addition the length of the lunar month (their evaluation was 29.5308 days, contrasted with the
advanced estimation of 29.53059). Due to the geographic disconnect, Mayan mathematics hardly
influenced the Old World (Europe and Asia) mathematics and numbering

Macbeth (Witches Effect) Essays
Topic: How important are the witches to Macbeth? Discuss the effects of the witches on character,
plot, themes and audience.
In the play of ‘Macbeth by William Shakespeare the witches have an important effect on Macbeth,
the characters, the plot, the theme and the audience. They help construct the play and without them it
would have been a totally different story line. The three weird sisters influence Macbeth in his acts,
they effect characters lives, orientate the plot, they are related to most of the themes and appeal the
audience s attention.

The witches can predict the future, they can add temptation, and influence Macbeth, but they cannot
control his destiny. Macbeth creates his own misery when he is driven by the guilt of his actions.
Although the witches did have the power to accurately predict significant events in Macbeth s life, the
actual ‘carrying out of those prophecies was undertaken by Macbeth.
In this play, the three equivocators have a resilient effect, not only on Macbeth but on the other
characters too. ‘Lesser than Macbeth, and greater. Not so happy yet much happier. Thou shalt get
kings though thou be none. (Act 1 Scene 3) Banquo is directly involved with the three witches; he
talks to them face to face. Being at first strongly contrasted with Macbeth, as an innocent man with a
guilty one, it seems like this contrast must be continued to his death; while, in reality, though it is
never removed, it is gradually diminished. Banquo in fact may be described much more truly than
Macbeth as the victim of the Witches.
Some other characters are indirectly affected by their prophecies. If Macbeth had not been influenced
by the witches, he would not have killed Duncan. Because they are the ones who start the play and
orientate it, the witches have an effect on every ones life.
The three weird sisters prophesies orientate the plot in a certain direction, some events might not have
occurred without their sayings. Macbeth hears these words and then tries to make

Application Of The Ideas From E Learning Activity
The following blogs are divided into two sections. The first section elaborates the list of ideas
extracted from e learning activity. The second section represents the application of the ideas in an
organisation.
Section One:
Modification in production: In early 20th century, Henry Ford formed a business partnership with
Alexander Malcomson, and launched an organization with the end goal of assembling cars under the
name The Ford Motor Company . Every car was assembled by groups of skillful workers, and,
cooperating, these groups aggregately spent more than 12 hours assembling every car (EyeWitness to
History, 2005). This procedure was exceptionally costly and tedious, subsequently making it
unimaginable for Ford to mass deliver his cars at moderate costs. To streamline this procedure and
produce a bigger volume of vehicles in a shorter measure of time. Removal of excessive physical
work: Taylor s scientific management theory was established on the rule that individual specialists
would be more profitable on the off chance that they were doled out assignments that were
appropriately suited to their own abilities and qualities. Taylor further contended that the end of
pointless physical development by laborers would bring about expanded profitability. Ford contracted
Taylor to watch his workers and decide the most proficient and efficient techniques for expanding the
organization s profitability. Ford concentrated on Taylor s perceptions and, as 1908 advanced,

Hole In My Life By Jack Gantos
His dreams of college and desire to write became a living image for Jack Gantos. All he wanted to do
was become a successful writer and pursue his dreams, he didn t expect to make mistakes that would
ruin his desire to write and dreams of going to college. Jack had made many mistakes in the memoir
Hole in My Life however, he didn t let that toxic environment ruin his goals and desire to become a
writer one day. Although many people may not agree, I believe that it is likely for one to make
mistakes, but harder for one to redeem from them. Redemption is necessary in order for mistakes to be
interesting. Like any book about mistakes and redemption, the mistakes are far more interesting to
read about and write about, as said by Jack Gantos. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It Doesn t Matter Where You Came From, But It Matters Where You re Going. Unknown. This quote
stuck out like a sore thumb because of how it reminded me of myself, But also this essay. I interpreted
this quote as, your culture doesn t have to form the way you re gonna be in life. Culture is something
that defines who we are, and what we ve came from. But does culture always have a say in what you
do in your life? I believe that culture sometimes influences someone views on others and the world. In
Pico Iyer s travel essay Where worlds Collide immigrants view their experiences as positive because
of information given to them by relatives. As the immigrants disembark from their flight, they step
into the Promised Land, (63). Even though the immigrants may be confused by LAX, they re still
eager to start over in the Land of Opportunity, (64). Every Time I come back a from vacation in
Mexico, I ve always felt great coming back to America. In a sense I can connect with the
immigrants, but very vaguely. The immigrants based on their backgrounds and expectations view
America as a positive place. Parents sometimes influence their children s views of others and the
world. In the movie Bend it like Beckham (directed by Gurinder Chadha,) Jess,{the main character,}
defies her parents views and culture when she starts playing soccer for a competitive team. You

Firm s issuing new securities to enhance revenues understand the complexities and risks involved when entering the primary market, and will employ investment bankers to mitigate those risks. This is an important factor to consider when deciding asset classes because asset classes that perform better long term, such as stocks, could create a portfolio loss if the investor had only required a short term investment and sold the stocks too soon while they were down (Investor Guide, 2010). If the investor had realized their short term time horizon they could have purchased securities in the money market, such as a U.S. Treasury Bill, and avoided the portfolio loss. The last factor to consider in creating an investment portfolio, and during the asset allocation process, is the level of the investors risk tolerance. The risk tolerance factor is very important to consider because depending on the level of risk the investor is willing to take on will determine the asset class with the best suited securities, and the level of diversification needed to maintain that desired level of risk. Creating an investment portfolio can be overwhelming for investors when deciding on the asset classes that work best for their portfolio. However, during the asset allocation process investors should consider three factors in their investment needs to aid in the elimination of the asset classes that least fit those needs. An investor that factors in their goals, investment time horizon, and level of risk tolerance will narrow down the asset classes that will likely meet their investment ... • 3. A Research Field On My Life Career Research is a very important aspect of any professional field that many students fail to notice. As far as my understanding, backbone of any professional field consists of two important parts, the academic part; knowledge and practical aspect, and the research part. The academic part helps the professionals to apply the knowledge in the practical life, but the research part is the one that provides all the knowledge and does mostly all the behind the scene work. That is why it would be preferred for every student in their respective discipline to participate and explore research in their respective field. This is the reason as to why I want to participate in the research field relating to my Medicine career. Research is very useful because it helps in expanding previous knowledge and adding new knowledge for any particular discipline. Not only that, research helps students to get the better understanding of what they are studying in classes and lectures. It provides student the background knowledge of the stuff they learn in a classroom. This prepares students to expand their horizon, think outside the box, critically analyze using the scientific method, and helps students to use their behind the scene knowledge to experiment and discover new things. Thus research ultimately helps in the adding new knowledge to the disciple. Similarities Between Cat People And Cat People Both Jacques Tourneur s 1942 film Cat People, along with Gunther von Fritsch 1944 follow up, Curse of the Cat People, remain legendary pieces of artistic restraint. While many horror films of the era painted their monsters in broad strokes, Both Cat People films play like steady handed psychological dramas; maneuvering in the shadows with subtle detail and control. While the films dutifully touch on a wide array of themes, I believe each picture has an overarching theme Cat People s theme being the fear of women/women s sexual agency and sexual repression, while The Curse of the Cat People about imagination and parenting. I will be picking scenes from each film that I feel reinforce these themes. Cat People SCENE 1: (55:50 58:09) Dr. Judd sits in his office, questioning our protagonist, Irena. He stands up and sits on his desk, now above her asserting a dominate position. In an attempt to put a hole in her narrative, while at the same time making a subtle sexual advance, the doctor asks, And if I should kiss you? Clearly she is uncomfortable. Irena is telling the truth, she loves her husband and just wants to be helped however, Dr. Judd tells her that she is bordering insanity; he tells her to forget about her fears and live her life. She begins to believe him. In a sense he fixes her by gas lighting her fears and making her out to be an irrational woman. Once Irena is off balance, he reverts to his charming self again. • 20. Legal Positivism Over Natural Law Theory Introduction This article discusses the conceptions of legal normativity, both moral and strictly legal conceptions. According to Spaak, regarding the normative force of legal justification, legal positivists can still embrace the moral idea and not be in conflict with their generally held belief in the strictly legal concept of law. In Torben Spaak s opinion, there is a reason to desire legal positivism; he explains this through introducing the concept of jurisprudence. When discussing the nature of law, Spaak states, that while the moral conception is what is likely favored on a smaller scale, the strictly legal conception is more appealing because it is broader, (478). Spaak is arguing, his belief that validity based explanations come nearer to the truth, (483) rather than belief based explanations. He concludes that we are to prefer legal positivism over natural law theory. That is why in this article I have been concerned with the law itself rather than our views about it. (483) Spaak actually states that his focus has been exclusively on the law rather than people s opinions of the law. He does not appear to be consistent in this focus. Rather, he fluctuates many times between agreeing and disagreeing with whether morals have a base in law itself or in just the application or theory of law. Dr. Gibala agrees with Zachwieja, there is little evidence supporting 4 to 1 carbohydrate to protein is beneficial. However, Gibala believes adding protein to an athlete s diet can add energy to perform longer. According to Dr. Rosenbloom, there are carbohydrate needs and protein needs and fluids, and we have to make sure we meet those necessities around the training schedule (cite). He also, states protein is not a good source of fuel for the body. Rosenbloom explains, the primary source of energy comes from the consumption of carbohydrates, however protein and hydration is necessary for recovery and energy. • 25. Essay about The Role of Humanism in the Poems of E.E.... It can be said that poetry is very much like its poet, seeing as they both contain two different sides: one that is seen while taking your very first glance and another that can only be unearthed and understood through the study of its underlying influences. So it is not unusual that in order to gain a complete and comprehensive outlook on a poem, one must first study nonfiction sources to see the motivation and purpose behind each chosen word. E.E. Cumming s works, a notable World War I era poet of the modernist movement, were heavily affected by the hatred and atrocities of warfare, which is seen in the way that his resentment towards humanity grows within this period, and thusly reflects in the poems he created around this time. One of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What gives the largest intimation as to the complete message of Cummings poem is the clearly evident satirical tone that Cummings often uses when the subject matter of his poem is something that disgusts him. Cummings writes, Humanity i love you/ because you would rather black the boots of/ success than enquire whose soul dangles from his/ watch chain which would be embarrassing for both/ parties... (Cummings 1 5) Here, Cummings basically, with much added sarcasm, says he loves how humanity would rather shine and maintain a rich aristocrat s shoes rather than think of the many commoners who are under his beck and call. Such a habit of subjecting a person to the members of the higher class is not an action deserving praise, which outlines the use of satire within this first example Cummings uses. Cummings continues in another stanza with the use of his sardonic speech. Humanity i love you because/ when you re hard up you pawn your/ intelligence to buy a drink ... (Cummings 9 11). Such a statement chastises humanity for degrading themselves to drinking and defiling their intelligence when they are having a hard time, which further contradicts the Humanity i love you... he uses to begin each statement. Both these devices of using capitalization for emphasis of the word Humanity and of the cynical tone depicted in the word choice both make up the theme of this poem: that ultimately, the fortunate are irreverent and that society s ... Sandra tilted her head and looked at me for a moment. You seem a little...off. Are you sure you re alright? she asked, once again. Mhm, I m fine, I told her. She looked at me for a moment then just nodded. I wasn t fine though, I felt uneasy. When it got later, we went to our cabin, and once again, the girls stayed up talking while I listened to my music. I turned up the volume all the way and tried, unsuccessfully to get the thought out of my mind. I wasn t sure why she was there, or if she was even a threat, but the way she just stood there staring at me creeped me out. The thought kept poking at me so out of curiosity, I went up to the window and opened the curtains. I examined the forest and searched to see if the woman was there. The second section represents the application of the ideas in an organisation. Section One: Modification in production: In early 20th century, Henry Ford formed a business partnership with Alexander Malcomson, and launched an organization with the end goal of assembling cars under the name The Ford Motor Company . Every car was assembled by groups of skillful workers, and, cooperating, these groups aggregately spent more than 12 hours assembling every car (EyeWitness to History, 2005). This procedure was exceptionally costly and tedious, subsequently making it unimaginable for Ford to mass deliver his cars at moderate costs. To streamline this procedure and produce a bigger volume of vehicles in a shorter measure of time.
