The Effects of Migration
Tahar Ben Jelloun, a Moroccan writer, states: Migration is no longer a solution; it s a defeat. People
are risking death, drowning every day, but they re knocking on doors that are not open. Probably, the
author is right because most of the migrants even do not know what awaits them in a new country.
Before thinking about the effects of migration, people should draw a distinction between emigration
and immigration. The immigration is beneficial, whereas the emigration is totally disadvantageous for
a country. People from industrially backward regions do not value their current lifestyle and
conditions, and they cannot resist the lure of a wonderful life in economically advanced countries.
Without thinking about the consequences that will follow their decision, people decide migrate from
own motherland. And more likely these consequences will be negative not only for emigrants but also
for countries people are going to leave and migrate to. Such a movement of people may leave a dent
on the economics of the host countries, and on the society and customs of the left countries. In 21st
century, it is already time to start actions in order to decrease the incidence of migration. Although for
some people emigration is helpful to solve their own personal problems, it is obvious that it may lead
to several effects like social devastation, brain drain and increasing the level of economy. Foremost,
emigration is guilty for emerged social and cultural devastation. Allowing own

Organizing Insurgency by Paul Staniland Essay
Organizing Insurgency by Paul Staniland, introduces the question, Do resources like diamonds, drugs,
and state sponsors turn insurgent groups into thuggish people or do they help build a more disciplined
organization? The reason this question is asked is because in some cases it suggests that resource
wealth encourages the degeneration of armed groups into greed and criminality and other evidence
shows that external sponsorship and criminal activity can help leaders build organizations in the face
of state repression (p.142). This question is being presented because with different insurgent groups
like the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and the Hizbul Mujahidden, having very similar
interactions with state sponsors, could have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within the article Staniland states The Taliban s ability to create and maintain both central and local
institutions was facilitated by its access to an overlapping social base of Islamists linked to one
another through camps and schools of western Pakistan while remaining embedded in local
communities (p.171). Within this passage, it explains that because of the basis of the Islamist religion,
the insurgent group was able to spread throughout Pakistan making the Taliban stronger. Similarly to
the Taliban, in having a strong basis, are the rebels of Darfur. Before the Darfur genocide occurred, the
conflict originally began as an insurgency group against the government. Rebel groups drew from
main African tribes of Darfur because they were being oppressed by governmental policies and were
looking for a change. The goal of theses rebels was to assert the social, economic and political rights
of all the people of Darfur; this goal was likely to resonate with the majority of the population, making
the insurgency stronger. Just like the Taliban, the rebels in Darfur had a goal in mind that represented a
basis that resonated with the majority of the population making them stronger and explaining why
they were such a threat to the government. Subsequently, the basis of the insurgency also has
something to do with the effects resources, such as diamonds,

Hannibal vs. Rome
During the Second Punic War, Hannibal, was a terror to the Roman Republic. Remembered
even today for his campaign, the hatred Hannibal felt for Rome was clearly seen on the
battlefield. He plowed his way throughout modern day France and Italy, crushing his
opponents (sometimes quite literally) under his army. However, Hannibal was not only a
general of great strength, but also an exceptional strategist, and a charismatic leader.
These qualities along with his appointed position, gave Hannibal all the tools needed to
bring Rome to its knees.
Beginning in the sixth century B.C., Rome s constant expansion now sought to lay
dominion over southern Italy. However, as the Romans reached the farther south, they ... Show more

I personally, found how the sequence of events leading to Hannibal s campaign
fascinating. The oath of hatred that Hamilcar laid upon his son fueled Hannibal when he
came to power. He began rebuilding the crumbled nation of Carthage not just to reclaim
its former glory, but for revenge. Hannibal first by established a solid army consisting of
Libyan spearmen, Nubian Calvary, Gaul and Spaniard foot soldiers, and the mighty war
elephant.
Hannibal s use of the war elephant pricked my interest the most. Though they were used
in wars before Hannibal s time, thy never reached its full functionality until Hannibal used
them in battle, charging them into the masses. Most interesting though was the fact that
this mighty beast was never used as a pack animal, but only as a weapon. I assumed that
this was the case, just as a sword is not used as a wood ax.
Hannibal s most brutal encounter with the Romans, and a snapshot of his true
military intellect took place on the plains of Cannae. After the defeat of their armies,
wave after wave, the Romans decided to play their trump card against Hannibal. The
Romans amassed a force of 70,000 troops to send after Hannibal, hoping that the sheer
number would overpower any counter offensive. However, the Romans confidence caused
them to overlook Hannibal s trap. Though he was

The Problem Of Evil And Atheism
owe to prove his thesis about the problems of evil and atheism, Rowe asks three fundamental
questions. The first question, is there an argument for atheism based on the problem of evil that could
rationally justify atheism? Supporting his question, Rowe by uses the idea of human and animal
suffering.is it reasonable for omnipotent, omniscient being(s) to permits its creation to suffer by
extinguish each other for their own personal benefits. If there is such a thing as an omnibenevolent,
omnipotent holy being how come the ultimate and unescapable suffering is this world has no vanish.
How good is a god(s) that permits humanity to suffer greatly? In religious Christian Bible study, Jesus,
many times referred to as god, vanish evil from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another view on suffering brought by theist is the suffering can lead to a greater spiritual good. In
order to gain spiritual guidance, there has to be suffering involved. The agonizing struggle brought by
human s free choice is debated since it can only be prevented by an individual s free choice. But not
all suffering is created by human s free choice. Individuals have no control over the amount of sorrow
that is brought upon them. Without warning, natural disaster brings suffering even if people are trying
their best in order to prevent any kind of unhappiness. How could theist know the meaning of such
suffering and its purpose? By trusting that the meaning of suffering is only known after death, how
can theist surely agree if none of them have experienced the afterlife?
Last, what position should the informed atheist take concerning the rationality of religious beliefs?
After giving a response to theist s argument against atheist, both are to believe that the other is
believing a false belief. There are many types of atheist with different thoughts on religious beliefs.
There are three different types of atheism discussed in Rowe s theory. Unfriendly atheism, there is no
such thing as a god(s). Indifferent atheism, has no concern in believing that a theist god(s) exists. And
friendly atheism is certain that there is a reason theist to have faith in god. Defending his argument
about friendly atheism,

The Public Sphere Within Theatre
The Public Sphere within theatre was a concept that was first delineated by philosopher Jurgen
Habermas in his book titled The structural transformation of the public sphere, in which he refers to
the right that all citizens hold, the right to participate and engage into discussions on public matters of
interest and public issues. Habermas writes: the audience does not constitute a space for spectators and
listeners but a space for speakers and addresses who engage in debate. (Habermas in Balme 2012).
The Public sphere has now become a space, a stage, for performers, speakers and protesters to have a
voice rather than for the preliminary use of entertainment for the audience, spectators and listeners.
On reading Christopher B. Balme s The theatrical public sphere, the concept of theatre s role in the
Public Sphere is explored. Balme traces the origins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Academic and artistic interest in something is usually a sure sign that matters are unclear, conceptual
boundaries are blurred and that old certainties are anything but that. There is also little doubt that the
major challenges we face: the media revolution, globalization and migration, climate change, the
erosion of public finances and services (to name just a few) have all in some way a bearing on the
public sphere, the realm where issues are debated and where citizens are free to enter and engage in
discourse. As the public sphere is primarily a discursive arena located outside and between state
bureaucracies on the one hand and economics and business on the other, it occupies a crucial role in
the functioning of so called free societies. The question to be explored here is what role theatre and
performance in practice play in this realm and how performance and theatre theory can contribute to
the debates. (Balme

The Role Of The Witches In Macbeth
In the play Macbeth the three witches managed to change the future to what they had predicted. Other
types of fantasy also played a role in making the tragic ending. These sorts of witchcraft or in other
words magic made the play what it is and conveyed character such as Macbeth to do and think of
certain things.
The witches played a huge role in the story of Macbeth and made him become who he ends up as.
Macbeth was a very honorable knight that served king Duncan till his last breath. He did not have any
distinguishing aspirations or greed. The three witches interfere in this with their so called prophecies
that would soon lead the unknowing Macbeth to his future demise. The witches foretold that Macbeth

The dagger that Macbeth saw before wondering weather to kill Duncan or not became his hope that
made him commit the deed. Macbeth was struggling to understand if he could kill the king so that he
could become king himself. At the time of confliction a ghostly dagger appeared before him. This
dagger was made into his hope and his reason to kill Duncan. He used this unreal delusion as his
backup that would get him to commit Duncan s murder. Another example of delusional fantasy
messing with Macbeth was the undead so called ghost of Banquo. After Macbeth had ordered the
assassination of his friend in order to preserve his role of king Macbeth had clearly suffered from
massive amounts of guild. This guild that was hidden deep inside of him made him see a delusional
image of a bloody Banquo. This made the calm Macbeth lose his cool and make the other people of
his castle wonder if he had killed Banquo. These acts of insanity from seeing unreal objects and
people led macbeth to commit murder and ruin his own image of a worthy king. This is relatable to a
person mistaking a mirage to be real. In desserts people arse so overcome with dehydration that they
crave water to the point that the think a mirage is real. This is very relatable to Macbeth seeing how
his real personality always makes him do things that are not meant to happen. The fake dagger ment

Summary Of The Film Every Secret Thing
American filmmaker, Amy Berg, continues to do what she knows best: documentary films. Titles like
Delivers Us From Evil (an Academy award nominated), West of Memphis , An Open Secret and
Prophet s Prey deserved every accolade they got. In 2014, Every Secret Thing probed her first
experience on fiction with disastrous results. Her new documentary about the iconic singer Janis
Joplin, graciously entitled Janis: Little Girl Blue , is probably the less riveting but still properly built.

interior conflict that found some delusive ease in alcohol and heroin, a problem that tended to

She seemed to have the strength to kick the addiction when she met the love of her life in Brazil.
According to her words, David Niehaus made her feel like a woman for the first time, not a pop star.
However, he decided to proceed with his scheduled trip to Africa, leaving her in a grievous state that
brought back the dependence on drugs.
Janis stepped into the famous Woodstock Festival bearing a visible emotional instability and counting
on the support of her new friend and lover, Peggy Caserta, who wasn t exactly the help she needed to
get rid of her obstacles.
Janis: Little Blue Girl was competently directed and structured but I was unable to feel the same

Family Relationships In East Of Eden By John Steinbeck
East of Eden published by John Steinbeck in 1952 is a great example for one to use when researching
family dynamics. The book tells the story of the Trask family living in Salinas valley California at the
turn of the 19th century. It is a tumultuous tale inspired by Cain and Able. The family consists of
Adam Trask, the father of twins Cal and Aaron Trask, and Cathy Ames their mother who abandoned
them as babies. The book starts out by going over the history of the Trask family Afterwards the book
transitions into details of Adam s life prior to the birth of his children. Details of Cathy s early life are
also revealed. The story goes on to uncover the failed marriage of Adam and Cathy. It is then
subsequently brought back to the present time. Cal and Aaron are now teenagers and Adam is starting
a new business venture. It becomes apparent that Cal is quite the rebel and trouble maker. In contrast
Aaron is the picture of perfection, has a beautiful girlfriend Abra, and can do no wrong. Unbeknownst
to Adam, Cal has developed a deep jealousy of Aaron believing that their father only has love for him.

Tattooing In Today s Society
The negative relationship that exists between age and having a tattoo best exemplifies the complexity
of tattooing s existence in today s society. Tattoos are much more prevalent among individuals of
younger generations than they were among individuals of older generations. This illustrates both
tattooing s growing popularity and its failure to gain full social acceptance. Indeed, tattooing has
become increasingly prevalent since its advancement during the tattoo renaissance. However this
growing popularity appears to have only occurred amongst the youth. Youth have always been
considered the vehicles through which social and cultural change take place. The tattooing

Censorship in Schools Essay
Censorship in Schools
There has recently been a renewed interest and passion in the issue of censorship. In the realm of the
censorship of books in schools alone, several hundred cases have surfaced each year for nearly the
past decade. Controversies over which books to include in the high school English curriculum present
a clash of values between teachers, school systems, and parents over what is appropriate for and
meaningful to students. It is important to strike a balance between English that is meaningful to
students by relating to their lives and representing diversity and satisfying worries about the
appropriateness of what is read. This burden often falls on teachers. The purpose of this research paper

Censorship can take different shapes depending on the public school system: Schools can give
teachers a list of acceptable books to teach, just provide guidelines, or leave it up to the teachers to
judge which books are appropriate (Agee, 1999). Teachers are often very nervous about including
texts that are not traditional or specifically approved by the school, especially because of the highly
publicized cases of teachers whose careers have been ruined because of censorship debates in courts
and school systems (Agee, 1999).
First Amendment Rights Relating to the Censorship of Books
Censorship cases often bring about debates over students first amendment rights. Students first
amendment rights are important to preserve so that students can not be excluded from meaningful
works or literature. It is understandable for the government to design educational plans as a way to get
its voice into classrooms, but the truth promoting function of the First Amendment provides no reason,
however, to question the right of students to explore a variety of ideas and perspectives, and to form
and express ideas of their own (Brown, 1994, p. 30). Schools already place a restriction on religious
material or material addressing current political controversy (Brown, 1994).
Censors typically feel as though the subject material of controversial books in the high school English
curriculum is too much for teenagers to handle (Shen, 2002).

Pros And Cons Of Mealtime Dilemma
Mealtime Dilemma A study done by Vegetarian Times has shown that 3.2 percent, or 7.3 million US
adults follow a vegetarian diet (Editors). The main reasons that people have chosen the vegetarian
lifestyle are due to health, the environment, and their own personal morality. When it comes to living a
healthy lifestyle, it is fairly well known that proteins, iron, and vitamins are necessary to digestive
system health. For many people, meat is the go to answer to get these things. However, meat is not
necessary to a balanced meal if these things are consumed on a regular basis. Other sources that have
an abundance of these things include leafy greens, legumes, and natural grains. The American Dietetic
Association admits that Vegetarian diets are often associated with a number of health advantages,
including lower blood cholesterol levels, lower risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure levels, and
lower risk of hypertension and type 2 diabetes. Vegetarians tend to have a lower body mass index
(BMI) and lower overall cancer rates. (American). This evidence supports the decision of becoming a
vegetarian as many of the health issues in the United States revolve around these issues. Eating meat
has a large negative effect on the environment. When it comes to deforestation, the Livestock,
Environment and Development (LEAD) Initiative says that as livestock production increases, the mass
clearing of trees is also increased. It is said that 20% of the world s pastures and

Acute Renal Failures
Acute Renal Failure The kidneys are vitals organs that are responsible for various function in the
human body such as reabsorption, secretion and excretion. They are the filters that enable us to get
waste materials that are produced by metabolism or ingested. The most important element that they
filter is blood plasma. The kidneys simultaneously eliminate unwanted substances by excreting them
into the urine and return substances that are needed back in to the blood. While filtration is the
primary function the kidneys are responsible for regulation of arterial pressure, acid base balance and
excretion of hormones. Any injury to the kidney may result in an interruption of these functions. The
kidneys are highly vascular organs that receive on average about 1100ml of blood per min. which is
20 25% of total cardiac output. This large volume is necessary to provide enough plasma for the high
glomerular filtration rate needed to effectively regulate fluid volumes and solute concentrations.
Therefore when the blood supply to the kidneys is compromised the kidneys start to show signs of
failure. The causes of renal failure can divided into three categories prerenal, intrarenal, and postrenal.
Prerenal cute renal failure is a result of decreased blood flow to the kidneys. It can be a result cardiac
failure and of intravascular volume depletion such as hemorrhage and burns. Without adequate blood
flow the glomerular filtration rate is reduced as well as the amount of

Visual Evaluation and Comparison: Analyzing the Advertisement Industry
The main goal of advertising is to motivate or persuade people to buy a particular product or service,
and among the media used to accomplish this are; radio, television, newspapers, and most importantly,
magazines. In order for advertisements to successfully portray a product, they must be directed to the
appropriate intended audience. In Rolling Stone and YM magazine, there are two advertisements that
display a very attractive person gazing and posing to the viewer. In advertising, we are bombarded by

can purchase such as: college graphics, accessories, screen savers, games, etc. All throughout the rest
of the ad is text with some graphics and a very colorful background. The text is simply listing the new
improvements to the ymobile device. It lists the new ring tones, how easy the improvements are, the

the viewer exactly what and whose product they are buying. On the right side of the ad, there is a list
of all of the songs that the viewer can download and have as their ring tone. The background is very
colorful, easily targeting a young teenage girl who probably is in the middle to upper middle class
who could afford all of these accessories to go along with their phone. The background color is a

Bossypants Analysis
In Tina Fey s memoir of her life, Bossypants, she provides many examples of challenging the ideas of
femininity in today s modern society. This is important because it shows younger women that despite
the inequalities for women in the workplace, the inequalities can be overcome, and women can go on
to live successful lives with the careers that they want. In Bossypants, Fey tells different anecdotes
about the struggles that she ran into during her position as a female writer in Saturday Night Live and
how these struggles ultimately made her a better writer and person after she had overcome them. In
today s society, one of the biggest examples of inequality in the workplace is that in the majority of
the fields, females get paid significantly less than their male co workers who do the same job. The
book Bossypants is the perfect example of how to educate the audience about important issues such as
inequalities in the workplace while also keeping the audience entertained with one liners and different
forms of comedy throughout the whole story. It is important that Fey talks about these examples
because she shows that even though she may have struggled and that her male co workers were not
always supportive of her, she did her best anyways and she worked to become the boss so that she
could be in charge of her own work. In Bossypants, Tina Fey talks about the struggles of being a
female writer in her field, and how to focus her energy on her work to become the boss. She elaborates
on the inequalities of women in the world of employment and how these inequalities can affect
women s careers. One of the most impactful anecdotes that Tina Fey writes about in Bossypants is the
encounter she witnesses between Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon while she was still a writer for
Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey talks about how men and women find different things funny, There s a
tremendous amount of overlap in what men and women think is funny (136). She also goes into detail
about an exchange between Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon that showed her that she was the only one
that had to like what she was doing, She was there to do what she wanted to do and she did not
fucking care if you liked it (144). This is an important

Witch Craft Trials Research Paper
There has been a plethora of research conducted that supports the notion that witch craft trials
occurred in Scotland primarily during the 16th and 17th centuries in England and Scotland and had an
impact on the way people chose to live their lives during this time period. Witches were seen as people
who had turned their backs on God and Christianity and entered a pact with the Devil. Due to this
belief, people were quick to prosecute potentially witches to keep the community safe. Furthermore,
there were many different elements of life that had an impact on witch craft trials and their outcomes,
such as the state/national government, local officials and arguably most importantly, the church.

In order to be tried as a witch, someone who believed themselves to be victimized would come

church to help identify witches and begin the interrogation process. In order for an individual to be
tried by a criminal court the church had to seek the approval of the Privy council. Cases with an
abundance of evidence were more likely to have a trial this is still the case today in court cases. If the
court believes there is a high success rate that the accused will be convicted they are more inclined to
bring the issue to court. In addition, the best piece of evidence in the 17th century and today is a

Similarities Between Early Human Groups
Any form of life must gather resources that allow it to survive and reproduce. The resources may be
food, water, sunlight, minerals, vitamins, shelter. Without these things, the organism dies. Since the
two most basic purposes of life are to live and to reproduce, it should do everything it can to avoid
dying through a lack of resources (Taflinger). And everything the human race did do. To thrive.
Throughout this piece, logical proven biological laws will give reasoning behind the claim that there
certainly was fighting between early human groups and tribes; Given that there was also competition
for resources. Thus subsequently this statement opposes claims towards a peaceful hypothesis of
coexistence between neighboring early human groups. That being said, both my theory and one of the

are very much rooted in animalistic biological psychology. Referenced from an article titled, The

Leadership Lessons From Ramayana And Steve Jobs
Leadership lessons from Ramayana and its relevance to Steve jobs
The world steps aside to a person who knows where he or she is going Mahatma Gandhi
The Ramayana is one of the greatest epics of Hindu Mythology. It is not just a story, but also an
educational medium used by the ancient sages to espouse the importance of doing your dharma (duty).
Lessons from Ramayana are a part of teaching leadership, management and governance at many
prestigious management institutions. Here we will talk about leadership quality of Ramayana s main
character Ram and its relevance to Apple s co founder Steve Jobs.

Middle School Then And Now Essay
I have been in Middle school for three years now and let me tell you it s not easy. My first year here I
didn t care about anything, I didn t care about my grades, attendance, homework, or my classwork. I
would do anything to not go to school and stay home. There were times that I had to actually stay
home and other times I would fake it because I just didn t want to go. I had some friends but they were
mainly friends I hung out with at the bus stop and that was it. Most of them were all friends I knew
from 4th grade. We all usually sat somewhat next to each other on the bus and would talk to everyone.
I sat next to one of my best guy friends and we didn t talk much since we were always tired in the
morning. My friend ended up being home schooled for the next two years, so I sat by myself or next
to someone that wanted to sit next to me. My third year here I made a friend name Taylor which I like
to call tater tot. I sit next to her now and we talk to each other about school and the homework we
forgot to do. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Speech On Grandparents
Nani and Pop have had many unforgettable and defining moments in our lives together. But becoming
grandparents six times (so far!) is right at the top of the list! We know that you have heard stories
about how excited we were to become your grandparents. I immediately nicknamed myself POP, and
shouted about it to the world. We fell head over heels in love with each of you the moment we met
you, and we couldn t wait to begin sharing adventures with you. And that love grows stronger and
deeper with each passing day.
What a joy it has been for us to watch you all as you have grown, and to see you develop your own
unique personalities. And we hope that you all know how important it is to us to always be here for
you, and to share with you some valuable lessons that will help you as you go through life.
We wish perhaps more than you will ever know that we could promise you a life free from pain,
temptation and suffering. But we know all too well from the personal experiences of living life in this
world that this will not be true for you. You will face many challenges. As a matter of fact, the Bible
tells us that, as Christians, we will be continually engaged in a spiritual battle, that we are at war!
The Apostle Paul tells us (Ephesians 6:13) to take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. In the next few verses, he describes the
various pieces of armor that God has given Christians to help

Listeria Monocytogenes Canada
Listeria monocytogenes is a dangerous bacterium capable of contaminating food products if not
successfully controlled. The foodborne illness listeriosis is often the result of consuming foods tainted
with this pathogen. As a result, Canada has developed a Policy on Listeria monocytogenes in Ready to
Eat foods to help protect Canadians from this bacterium and its detrimental effects. This paper will
thoroughly examine the origin of this federal policy, the influences on its creation and its amendments.
The stakeholders influencing the construction as well as the impacts this policy has had in Canada will
also be considered, leaving a well rounded understanding on this fundamental policy.

37 The purpose of this latest amendment was to ultimately improve the oversight and compliance
activities of R.T.E foods with respect to their potential to support the growth of Listeria. For example,
it is now a requirement that environmental monitoring programs are incorporated in to all plants and
are used in the production of R.T.E food products. 38 Furthermore, the definition of R.T.E foods was
updated and expanded upon with regards to which foods display the potential to grow of L.
monocytogenes and a more detailed list of foods prone to contamination. 39 This policy revision also
focused aimed to provide an even greater focus to at protecting the high risk members of society,
specifically the infants, pregnant women and the elderly. 40 This aspect of the 2011 policy decision
was greatly influenced by the European cases of listeriosis regarding the decision to utilize more
efficient risk communication programs intended to protect these vulnerable groups, specifically the
aging members of society. 41 The majority of European cases have been attributed to elderly
population, as they are exceedingly prone to becoming ill. Therefore, this provided even more need to
center the policy on these at risk groups.

The Role of Federal Agencies in Fighting Digital Crime
The Secret Service, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and other law enforcement agencies have
similar challenges when fighting computer crimes and terrorism due to the recent development of
computer technologies as well as constant threats. Federal law enforcement agencies and local law
enforcement agencies have different responsibilities that work independently instead of on the same
level, which can make it difficult to coordinate and cooperate to fight against computer crimes and
terrorist threats. Local law enforcement agencies deal with more challenges than federal law
enforcement agencies, which includes getting the necessary training, equipment, updated criminal
codes designed to complement current enforcement efforts, and resources. The lack of training in
computer crimes for most of local law enforcement agencies is a serious issue when trying to
prosecute computer crimes. Untrained patrol officers can easily destroy computer evidence by
accident, and cause the criminal to go free because there is no evidence linking the computer crime to
the criminal. Local law enforcement agencies aren t capable of deciphering encrypted computer
evidence as federal law enforcement agencies are due to the fact that they don t receive enough
funding to get equipment to read encrypted evidence. The constant changes in computer technology
have hindered legislative attempts to pass laws that are current and can apply it to the use of these new
technologies. Computer crimes would be

Cyber Bullying And Its Effects On Children
Bullying, according to Oxford Dictionary, is the use of superior strength or influence to intimidate,
typically to force someone to do what one wants. Growing up, the only bullying that I have witnessed
is on the television. The majority of people perceive a bully as a tough boy threatening another for his
lunch money, but times have changed in unison with technology evolving. One of the overwhelmingly
popular uses of the internet is to contact friends and relatives by posting pictures and sending
comments on social media websites. For example, according to Jay Baer, a social media researcher,
56% of Americans have a profile on a social networking site . The outcomes of these sites when used
appropriately are enjoyable, but for children ages ten to eighteen, cyber bullying is a frequent activity
through the sites. Social media websites need filters to decrease cyber bullying since young users have
no remote understanding of the unsafe environment and of the depth the effects cyber bullying has on
their victims, as well as themselves. Social media websites do not provide a safe and friendly
environment for all age ranges. Consequently, 81% of teens use some kind of social media making it a
popular, yet cowardly source for bullying. Since smart phones and computers surround each one of us,
teens hide behind them. It is easier to send a rude message or comment on a website than actually
saying it to someone s face. The people social media sites are molding us to be is

The Negative Effects Of Homework In Elementary Education
Homework has been a topic of conversation in elementary education for the majority of last decade,
the pros and cons have been argued and researched time and time again. While most professionals in
the field agree that homework is needed and helpful in middle and high school, when it comes to
younger grades the information strongly shows that it is a waste of time. At its core homework has two
possible effects in the home. Homework can be seen as a rule over parents from the school to manage
their children s time outside of school or as a way to inform parents on what their children are
currently and allow them participation in their children s education (Wright). Around the time leading
up to World War One the Ladies Home Journal began advocating for an end to homework for all
children under the age of fifteen. The change continued in 1901 when California passed a law
abolishing all homework for grade levels one through eight. After the launch of Sputnik, a pro
homework movement began calling for heavier student work loads in hopes to keep students up to par
with their russian counterparts. The movement was revised as researches in the late 1960 s as they
observed the amount of stress put onto students by homework. American schools began reporting
falling test scores and lower overall performance of students in the 1980 s, which lead to a rise of the
use of homework once again. During this time the US Department of Education released a pamphlet,
in which they claimed

The Alchemist Book Reflection
When I was sixteen year olds I discovered my favorite book, The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. Like
every teenager, I was full of dreams and ambitions so when I read The Alchemist I felt like I was
reading a story about myself. After reading the book the first time, I promised myself I would read it
every ten years to remind myself of the teachings I got from it, and also to see what else I could learn
from it by reading it at a different point in my life. Eager to discover what new things I would learn, I
read the entire book on a train ride from Paris to Amsterdam. Although I underlined many phrases
from the book, there was a particular sentence that reminded me of an even younger me discovering
his dreams for the future. If a person is living out his destiny, he knows everything he needs to know.

Similarly, Stanislavski s method demands for actors to develop an internal connection with a character
in order for the character to exist. Stanislavski s teachings request for actors to call upon their personal

Steven Spielberg s Jurassic Park
How exciting would it be to travel back in time and live with the dinosaurs? That is exactly the setting
Steven Spielberg wanted to create in the movie version of the Michael Crichton novel, Jurassic Park.
Science fiction adventure films, such as Jurassic Park, are exciting for all age groups. The audience is
in awe of the characters, in this case realistic looking and acting dinosaurs. After a shocking death
takes place due to an animal attack in Isla Nublar, an island 120 miles from Cuba, scientific experts
are needed to investigate further. Dr. Alan Grant and assistant Ellie Sattler, also assisted by Dr. Ian
Malcolm and Donald Gennaro, are invited by the peculiar billionaire, John Hammond, to join him in
his new unique biological attractions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The country of Costa Rica is a perfect setting with all of the diversity of species and seclusion from
other parts of the world to do experimental research with dinosaurs in secret. Isla Nublar, the specific
location leased by Hammond as a biological preserve to do research, adds to the seclusion, as it is
difficult to get to the island one hundred miles off the coast of Costa Rica and difficult to leave. Ian
Malcolm, the mathematician invited to visit the park to access risk, takes one look around the island
and says the problem with Isla Nublar is that it is an accident waiting to happen, effectively
foreshadowing the events to occur shortly after the group s arrival on the island. Once the group drives
the safari jeeps Hammond has provided through the gates of the theme park, it is as if they are in
another world. The gates are described as enormous, primitive gates, torches blazing on either side.
Again Malcolm foreshadows future events by looking up at the immense gates and asking if King
Kong is inside. The seclusion of the island and confinement of the park builds the anticipation that an
accident is imminent. This suspense is important because when the dinosaurs run free, the experts and
the children feel cut off from the outside world and must find ways to save themselves. The time at
which the park was built, the 1990s, was not long after supercomputers became prevalent. The climate
on the island also added to the mysterious, clandestine atmosphere. For example, every time a
tyrannosaurus rex came to attack the group, it was raining. When the t Rex flipped the jeep over, it
was so foggy it was difficult to see. Appropriately, the secluded location of the theme park, Isla
Nublar, means clouded island as most of it is encased in a dense fog. It was also exciting to see the

The Movie Hunger by Steve McQueen
Hunger (2008) Steve McQueen
Film Analysis
Rooted in the 1981 Irish hunger strike, artist Steve McQueen s brutally raw film Hunger retraces the
crusade of Provisional Irish Republican Army prisoners who desired Special Category Status while
imprisoned at Maze Compound Prison. Starting near the middle of a four year long stalemate,
McQueen s triptych follows the routine of a prison guard, Raymond Lohan, the introduction of a new,
IRA, non conforming prisoner Davey Gillen into the dirty protest , and culminates with Bobby Sands,
the IRA commanding officer inside Maze who volunteers to be the first of many prisoners to go on a
hunger strike for SCS, and is the first to die sixty six days later. Through visceral scenes depicting
extraordinary situations, Hunger reminds audiences of the battle of attrition that was fought thirty
years before, and how people dealt with decisions that politicians made, and the environments which
are created from those decisions, which they had to survive in. Instead of taking a side in the conflict,
Hunger portrays what one critic describes a probing, clinical, oddly beautiful examination of one man
s decision to die, to face the moment that we all must, on his own terms.
The standoff in Maze Prison was borne from conflict during The Troubles, an extremely violent period
in the political conflict waged between republicans and nationalists, who wanted to see Northern

Adoption And Abortion In The Film Cider House Rules
In the film Cider House Rules, the doctor offers two taboo services, one that is legal and the other that
is not. The movie takes place around the early 1940 s when abortion was still illegal. Dr. Larch is a
physician that offers women the choice of adoption or abortion for babies they have decided they are
unable to keep. In many ways, adoption and abortion might seem like complete counterparts, however,
they do have a few similarities that allow them to coexist. They are each an alternative to becoming a
parent. Whichever the woman chooses, she will not be pushed into raising a child before she is ready.
Each of these allows the woman to continue to follow her career and educational goals. These goals
women have in mind won t have to be put on hold to raise a child. Both of these choices are an
emotional processes that can be challenging. While these choices may be somewhat different, neither
is an easy choice to make. Homer Wells, who is the main character, is faced with many moral
dilemmas as his life develops. Homer is an orphan who was born at the orphanage and Dr. Larch takes
him under his wing as a young boy. Dr. Larch teaches Homer to be a doctor and perform deliveries,
among various other procedures. As Homer becomes a mature physician, he makes the decision not
perform abortions because he feels it is unethical. He considers every life to be precious, and is
grateful that his mother made the decision to leave him at the orphanage instead of aborting him. I feel

When I say performance, I am talking about Callaway producing a club that permitted the average
golfer to play at a higher level than they might otherwise play without a Callaway driver.
In order to achieve this higher level of performance in one s golf game, Callaway had created a club
for their target market that met yet a third need, that being the demand for forgiveness in a club. To
meet this need Callaway created a driver that allowed a less than technically proficient golfer to drive
the ball straight and accurate down the fairway, even though the golfer may have hit the ball left or the
right of center on the driver.
In other words, what the golfer lacks in technical skill can be compensated for to a noticeable degree
by the advanced design of a golf club. This is what is known as forgiveness. The fourth and final need
is that of quality. Given that Callaway customers paid a premium for Callaway clubs, they expect that
Callaway would create nothing short of a high quality club. A high quality club being one made of the
best materials, while delivering on all of the claims made such as improved performance. It was
Callaway s ability to successfully meet these four customer needs that had put them at the top of their
game for many, many years.

The Big Five Personality Traits Essay
The personality trait that I chose is one of the big five personality traits known as Extraversion.
Extraversion is a trait, within the factor called plasticity, which relates to individuals who are social
and outgoing. More specifically, they like a lot of various stimulation, it comes of no surprise that
these individuals seek out people, activities and noisy places. These individuals can seek excitement;
they are impulsive, risk taking, argumentative and unreliable, while also upbeat, optimistic, warm,
assertive, and like to be active. As well, extroverts tend to be viewed as more attractive and popular
than introverts are, and can be seen attending more parties and drinking in excess. The individual that
I will address is, Hank Moody, the main character on the T.V. show Californiacation. Hank approaches
life in a satirical manner, making everything into his own little joke, making life seem less serious.
Hank is seen as a popular, enthusiastic, assertive, dominant and attractive woman admirer, having a
way with his words, which is related to his career as a writer. His charming and warm approach also
makes him successful with so many women. Hank constantly seeks out attention and stimulating
situations, whether it be fights, or making his presence known in a room. He becomes victim to mate

with a new distributor. * Suture activity through O amp;M does not generate additional purchase
orders which allow the cost to remain low to O amp;M. Even with the added line number fees and
Alpha Fee, the savings to the client and O amp;M are obvious. Exhibit 7 | Suture Vendor Change

  • 2. The Effects of Migration Tahar Ben Jelloun, a Moroccan writer, states: Migration is no longer a solution; it s a defeat. People are risking death, drowning every day, but they re knocking on doors that are not open. Probably, the author is right because most of the migrants even do not know what awaits them in a new country. Before thinking about the effects of migration, people should draw a distinction between emigration and immigration. The immigration is beneficial, whereas the emigration is totally disadvantageous for a country. People from industrially backward regions do not value their current lifestyle and conditions, and they cannot resist the lure of a wonderful life in economically advanced countries. Without thinking about the consequences that will follow their decision, people decide migrate from own motherland. And more likely these consequences will be negative not only for emigrants but also for countries people are going to leave and migrate to. Such a movement of people may leave a dent on the economics of the host countries, and on the society and customs of the left countries. In 21st century, it is already time to start actions in order to decrease the incidence of migration. Although for some people emigration is helpful to solve their own personal problems, it is obvious that it may lead to several effects like social devastation, brain drain and increasing the level of economy. Foremost, emigration is guilty for emerged social and cultural devastation. Allowing own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Organizing Insurgency by Paul Staniland Essay Organizing Insurgency by Paul Staniland, introduces the question, Do resources like diamonds, drugs, and state sponsors turn insurgent groups into thuggish people or do they help build a more disciplined organization? The reason this question is asked is because in some cases it suggests that resource wealth encourages the degeneration of armed groups into greed and criminality and other evidence shows that external sponsorship and criminal activity can help leaders build organizations in the face of state repression (p.142). This question is being presented because with different insurgent groups like the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and the Hizbul Mujahidden, having very similar interactions with state sponsors, could have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within the article Staniland states The Taliban s ability to create and maintain both central and local institutions was facilitated by its access to an overlapping social base of Islamists linked to one another through camps and schools of western Pakistan while remaining embedded in local communities (p.171). Within this passage, it explains that because of the basis of the Islamist religion, the insurgent group was able to spread throughout Pakistan making the Taliban stronger. Similarly to the Taliban, in having a strong basis, are the rebels of Darfur. Before the Darfur genocide occurred, the conflict originally began as an insurgency group against the government. Rebel groups drew from main African tribes of Darfur because they were being oppressed by governmental policies and were looking for a change. The goal of theses rebels was to assert the social, economic and political rights of all the people of Darfur; this goal was likely to resonate with the majority of the population, making the insurgency stronger. Just like the Taliban, the rebels in Darfur had a goal in mind that represented a basis that resonated with the majority of the population making them stronger and explaining why they were such a threat to the government. Subsequently, the basis of the insurgency also has something to do with the effects resources, such as diamonds, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Hannibal vs. Rome During the Second Punic War, Hannibal, was a terror to the Roman Republic. Remembered even today for his campaign, the hatred Hannibal felt for Rome was clearly seen on the battlefield. He plowed his way throughout modern day France and Italy, crushing his opponents (sometimes quite literally) under his army. However, Hannibal was not only a general of great strength, but also an exceptional strategist, and a charismatic leader. These qualities along with his appointed position, gave Hannibal all the tools needed to bring Rome to its knees. Beginning in the sixth century B.C., Rome s constant expansion now sought to lay dominion over southern Italy. However, as the Romans reached the farther south, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I personally, found how the sequence of events leading to Hannibal s campaign fascinating. The oath of hatred that Hamilcar laid upon his son fueled Hannibal when he came to power. He began rebuilding the crumbled nation of Carthage not just to reclaim its former glory, but for revenge. Hannibal first by established a solid army consisting of Libyan spearmen, Nubian Calvary, Gaul and Spaniard foot soldiers, and the mighty war elephant. Hannibal s use of the war elephant pricked my interest the most. Though they were used in wars before Hannibal s time, thy never reached its full functionality until Hannibal used them in battle, charging them into the masses. Most interesting though was the fact that this mighty beast was never used as a pack animal, but only as a weapon. I assumed that this was the case, just as a sword is not used as a wood ax.
  • 5. Hannibal s most brutal encounter with the Romans, and a snapshot of his true military intellect took place on the plains of Cannae. After the defeat of their armies, wave after wave, the Romans decided to play their trump card against Hannibal. The Romans amassed a force of 70,000 troops to send after Hannibal, hoping that the sheer number would overpower any counter offensive. However, the Romans confidence caused them to overlook Hannibal s trap. Though he was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first question, is there an argument for atheism based on the problem of evil that could rationally justify atheism? Supporting his question, Rowe by uses the idea of human and animal suffering.is it reasonable for omnipotent, omniscient being(s) to permits its creation to suffer by extinguish each other for their own personal benefits. If there is such a thing as an omnibenevolent, omnipotent holy being how come the ultimate and unescapable suffering is this world has no vanish. Another view on suffering brought by theist is the suffering can lead to a greater spiritual good. In order to gain spiritual guidance, there has to be suffering involved. The agonizing struggle brought by human s free choice is debated since it can only be prevented by an individual s free choice. But not all suffering is created by human s free choice. Individuals have no control over the amount of sorrow that is brought upon them. Without warning, natural disaster brings suffering even if people are trying their best in order to prevent any kind of unhappiness. How could theist know the meaning of such suffering and its purpose? By trusting that the meaning of suffering is only known after death, how can theist surely agree if none of them have experienced the afterlife? Last, what position should the informed atheist take concerning the rationality of religious beliefs? After giving a response to theist s argument against atheist, both are to believe that the other is believing a false belief. There are many types of atheist with different thoughts on religious beliefs. There are three different types of atheism discussed in Rowe s theory. The Public Sphere Within Theatre The Public Sphere within theatre was a concept that was first delineated by philosopher Jurgen Habermas in his book titled The structural transformation of the public sphere, in which he refers to the right that all citizens hold, the right to participate and engage into discussions on public matters of interest and public issues. Habermas writes: the audience does not constitute a space for spectators and listeners but a space for speakers and addresses who engage in debate. (Habermas in Balme 2012). The Public sphere has now become a space, a stage, for performers, speakers and protesters to have a voice rather than for the preliminary use of entertainment for the audience, spectators and listeners. There is also little doubt that the major challenges we face: the media revolution, globalization and migration, climate change, the erosion of public finances and services (to name just a few) have all in some way a bearing on the public sphere, the realm where issues are debated and where citizens are free to enter and engage in discourse. As the public sphere is primarily a discursive arena located outside and between state bureaucracies on the one hand and economics and business on the other, it occupies a crucial role in the functioning of so called free societies. The question to be explored here is what role theatre and performance in practice play in this realm and how performance and theatre theory can contribute to the debates. (Balme ... The main reasons that people have chosen the vegetarian lifestyle are due to health, the environment, and their own personal morality. When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, it is fairly well known that proteins, iron, and vitamins are necessary to digestive system health. For many people, meat is the go to answer to get these things. However, meat is not necessary to a balanced meal if these things are consumed on a regular basis. • 16. Acute Renal Failures Acute Renal Failure The kidneys are vitals organs that are responsible for various function in the human body such as reabsorption, secretion and excretion. They are the filters that enable us to get waste materials that are produced by metabolism or ingested. The most important element that they filter is blood plasma. The kidneys simultaneously eliminate unwanted substances by excreting them into the urine and return substances that are needed back in to the blood. While filtration is the primary function the kidneys are responsible for regulation of arterial pressure, acid base balance and excretion of hormones. Any injury to the kidney may result in an interruption of these functions. The kidneys are highly vascular organs that receive on average about 1100ml of blood per min. which is 20 25% of total cardiac output. This large volume is necessary to provide enough plasma for the high glomerular filtration rate needed to effectively regulate fluid volumes and solute concentrations. Therefore when the blood supply to the kidneys is compromised the kidneys start to show signs of failure. The causes of renal failure can divided into three categories prerenal, intrarenal, and postrenal. Prerenal cute renal failure is a result of decreased blood flow to the kidneys. It can be a result cardiac failure and of intravascular volume depletion such as hemorrhage and burns. • 19. Bossypants Analysis In Tina Fey s memoir of her life, Bossypants, she provides many examples of challenging the ideas of femininity in today s modern society. This is important because it shows younger women that despite the inequalities for women in the workplace, the inequalities can be overcome, and women can go on to live successful lives with the careers that they want. In Bossypants, Fey tells different anecdotes about the struggles that she ran into during her position as a female writer in Saturday Night Live and how these struggles ultimately made her a better writer and person after she had overcome them. In today s society, one of the biggest examples of inequality in the workplace is that in the majority of the fields, females get paid significantly less than their male co workers who do the same job. The book Bossypants is the perfect example of how to educate the audience about important issues such as inequalities in the workplace while also keeping the audience entertained with one liners and different forms of comedy throughout the whole story. It is important that Fey talks about these examples because she shows that even though she may have struggled and that her male co workers were not always supportive of her, she did her best anyways and she worked to become the boss so that she could be in charge of her own work. In Bossypants, Tina Fey talks about the struggles of being a female writer in her field, and how to focus her energy on her work to become the boss. She elaborates on the inequalities of women in the world of employment and how these inequalities can affect women s careers. One of the most impactful anecdotes that Tina Fey writes about in Bossypants is the encounter she witnesses between Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon while she was still a writer for Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey talks about how men and women find different things funny, There s a tremendous amount of overlap in what men and women think is funny (136). • 27. The Role of Federal Agencies in Fighting Digital Crime The Secret Service, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and other law enforcement agencies have similar challenges when fighting computer crimes and terrorism due to the recent development of computer technologies as well as constant threats. Federal law enforcement agencies and local law enforcement agencies have different responsibilities that work independently instead of on the same level, which can make it difficult to coordinate and cooperate to fight against computer crimes and terrorist threats. Local law enforcement agencies deal with more challenges than federal law enforcement agencies, which includes getting the necessary training, equipment, updated criminal codes designed to complement current enforcement efforts, and resources. The lack of training in computer crimes for most of local law enforcement agencies is a serious issue when trying to prosecute computer crimes. Untrained patrol officers can easily destroy computer evidence by accident, and cause the criminal to go free because there is no evidence linking the computer crime to the criminal. Local law enforcement agencies aren t capable of deciphering encrypted computer evidence as federal law enforcement agencies are due to the fact that they don t receive enough funding to get equipment to read encrypted evidence. • 28. Cyber Bullying And Its Effects On Children Bullying, according to Oxford Dictionary, is the use of superior strength or influence to intimidate, typically to force someone to do what one wants. Growing up, the only bullying that I have witnessed is on the television. The majority of people perceive a bully as a tough boy threatening another for his lunch money, but times have changed in unison with technology evolving. One of the overwhelmingly popular uses of the internet is to contact friends and relatives by posting pictures and sending comments on social media websites. For example, according to Jay Baer, a social media researcher, 56% of Americans have a profile on a social networking site . The outcomes of these sites when used appropriately are enjoyable, but for children ages ten to eighteen, cyber bullying is a frequent activity through the sites. Social media websites need filters to decrease cyber bullying since young users have no remote understanding of the unsafe environment and of the depth the effects cyber bullying has on their victims, as well as themselves. Social media websites do not provide a safe and friendly environment for all age ranges. Consequently, 81% of teens use some kind of social media making it a popular, yet cowardly source for bullying. Since smart phones and computers surround each one of us, teens hide behind them. It is easier to send a rude message or comment on a website than actually saying it to someone s face. The people social media sites are molding us to be is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. The Negative Effects Of Homework In Elementary Education Homework has been a topic of conversation in elementary education for the majority of last decade, the pros and cons have been argued and researched time and time again. While most professionals in the field agree that homework is needed and helpful in middle and high school, when it comes to younger grades the information strongly shows that it is a waste of time. At its core homework has two possible effects in the home. Homework can be seen as a rule over parents from the school to manage their children s time outside of school or as a way to inform parents on what their children are currently and allow them participation in their children s education (Wright). Around the time leading up to World War One the Ladies Home Journal began advocating for an end to homework for all children under the age of fifteen. The change continued in 1901 when California passed a law abolishing all homework for grade levels one through eight. After the launch of Sputnik, a pro homework movement began calling for heavier student work loads in hopes to keep students up to par with their russian counterparts. The movement was revised as researches in the late 1960 s as they observed the amount of stress put onto students by homework. American schools began reporting falling test scores and lower overall performance of students in the 1980 s, which lead to a rise of the use of homework once again. During this time the US Department of Education released a pamphlet, in which they claimed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Like every teenager, I was full of dreams and ambitions so when I read The Alchemist I felt like I was reading a story about myself. After reading the book the first time, I promised myself I would read it every ten years to remind myself of the teachings I got from it, and also to see what else I could learn from it by reading it at a different point in my life. Eager to discover what new things I would learn, I read the entire book on a train ride from Paris to Amsterdam. Although I underlined many phrases from the book, there was a particular sentence that reminded me of an even younger me discovering his dreams for the future. • 33. Steven Spielberg s Jurassic Park How exciting would it be to travel back in time and live with the dinosaurs? That is exactly the setting Steven Spielberg wanted to create in the movie version of the Michael Crichton novel, Jurassic Park. Science fiction adventure films, such as Jurassic Park, are exciting for all age groups. The audience is in awe of the characters, in this case realistic looking and acting dinosaurs. After a shocking death takes place due to an animal attack in Isla Nublar, an island 120 miles from Cuba, scientific experts are needed to investigate further. Dr. Alan Grant and assistant Ellie Sattler, also assisted by Dr. Ian Malcolm and Donald Gennaro, are invited by the peculiar billionaire, John Hammond, to join him in his new unique biological attractions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The country of Costa Rica is a perfect setting with all of the diversity of species and seclusion from other parts of the world to do experimental research with dinosaurs in secret. Isla Nublar, the specific location leased by Hammond as a biological preserve to do research, adds to the seclusion, as it is difficult to get to the island one hundred miles off the coast of Costa Rica and difficult to leave. Ian Malcolm, the mathematician invited to visit the park to access risk, takes one look around the island and says the problem with Isla Nublar is that it is an accident waiting to happen, effectively foreshadowing the events to occur shortly after the group s arrival on the island. Once the group drives the safari jeeps Hammond has provided through the gates of the theme park, it is as if they are in another world. The gates are described as enormous, primitive gates, torches blazing on either side. Again Malcolm foreshadows future events by looking up at the immense gates and asking if King Kong is inside. The seclusion of the island and confinement of the park builds the anticipation that an accident is imminent. This suspense is important because when the dinosaurs run free, the experts and the children feel cut off from the outside world and must find ways to save themselves. The time at which the park was built, the 1990s, was not long after supercomputers became prevalent. The climate on the island also added to the mysterious, clandestine atmosphere. For example, every time a tyrannosaurus rex came to attack the group, it was raining. When the t Rex flipped the jeep over, it was so foggy it was difficult to see. Appropriately, the secluded location of the theme park, Isla Nublar, means clouded island as most of it is encased in a dense fog. It was also exciting to see the dangerous ... • 36. The Movie Hunger by Steve McQueen Hunger (2008) Steve McQueen Film Analysis Rooted in the 1981 Irish hunger strike, artist Steve McQueen s brutally raw film Hunger retraces the crusade of Provisional Irish Republican Army prisoners who desired Special Category Status while imprisoned at Maze Compound Prison. Starting near the middle of a four year long stalemate, McQueen s triptych follows the routine of a prison guard, Raymond Lohan, the introduction of a new, IRA, non conforming prisoner Davey Gillen into the dirty protest , and culminates with Bobby Sands, the IRA commanding officer inside Maze who volunteers to be the first of many prisoners to go on a hunger strike for SCS, and is the first to die sixty six days later. Through visceral scenes depicting extraordinary situations, Hunger reminds audiences of the battle of attrition that was fought thirty years before, and how people dealt with decisions that politicians made, and the environments which are created from those decisions, which they had to survive in. Instead of taking a side in the conflict, Hunger portrays what one critic describes a probing, clinical, oddly beautiful examination of one man s decision to die, to face the moment that we all must, on his own terms. The standoff in Maze Prison was borne from conflict during The Troubles, an extremely violent period in the political conflict waged between republicans and nationalists, who wanted to see Northern Ireland, a province of the United Kingdom, unified with the ... The movie takes place around the early 1940 s when abortion was still illegal. Dr. Larch is a physician that offers women the choice of adoption or abortion for babies they have decided they are unable to keep. In many ways, adoption and abortion might seem like complete counterparts, however, they do have a few similarities that allow them to coexist. They are each an alternative to becoming a parent. Whichever the woman chooses, she will not be pushed into raising a child before she is ready. Each of these allows the woman to continue to follow her career and educational goals. These goals women have in mind won t have to be put on hold to raise a child. Both of these choices are an emotional processes that can be challenging. While these choices may be somewhat different, neither is an easy choice to make. Homer Wells, who is the main character, is faced with many moral dilemmas as his life develops. Homer is an orphan who was born at the orphanage and Dr. Larch takes him under his wing as a young boy. Dr. Larch teaches Homer to be a doctor and perform deliveries, among various other procedures. In order to achieve this higher level of performance in one s golf game, Callaway had created a club for their target market that met yet a third need, that being the demand for forgiveness in a club. To meet this need Callaway created a driver that allowed a less than technically proficient golfer to drive the ball straight and accurate down the fairway, even though the golfer may have hit the ball left or the right of center on the driver. In other words, what the golfer lacks in technical skill can be compensated for to a noticeable degree by the advanced design of a golf club. This is what is known as forgiveness. The fourth and final need is that of quality. Given that Callaway customers paid a premium for Callaway clubs, they expect that Callaway would create nothing short of a high quality club.
