Several studies indicate that there is an association between urinary BPA levels and increased body
mass in children and adolescents. In a cross sectional analysis , a nationally representative subsample
of 2838 participants aged from 6 to 19 year old were randomly selected, and their urinary BPA
concentration and body mass index (BMI) were measured. They found that the urinary BPA
concentration were significantly associated with obesity in participants, while obesity was not
associated with exposed to other environmental phenols in other commonly used consumer products,
such as soaps and sunscreens (Trasande et al. 2012). Another cross sectional study conducted in China
was also with the aim to investigate the association between BPA exposure and BMI. Multiple linear
regression analyses showed that urine BPA concentrations were significantly correlated with
increasing BMI in school children (Wang et al. 2012a). In addition, there is also epidemiological
evidence that an increased urine BPA concentration is associated with obesity in adults. Wang et al.
(2012b) conducted another cross sectional study based on a sample of 3390 Chinese adults with age
40 years or older. They found there is a positive correlation between urinary BPA concentration and
generalized obesity as well as abdominal obesity in adults.

revolution. This makes the engine highly efficient and lightweight compared to four stroke systems.
Rather than entering through valves, the fuel/air mixture enters through an intake port and exhaust
exits out of an exhaust port. In place of traditional valves the two stroke engine uses the piston s
position to force out exhaust or suck in fuel mixture.
Reeds are vital to a two stroke system. The reeds are placed between the intake manifold and the

William Dean Howells Editha tells the story of a young girl and her plan of manipulating her fiancé to
go off to war. Howells uses psychological realism during the readers initial encounter with Editha, her
interactions with George, and ultimately how she reacts to his death to express how romantic idealism

Problem/Purpose: How does temperature affect the rate of enzyme activity on its substrate?
Hypothesis: If the temperature increases, then rate of the chemical reaction will increase as well, and
if the temperature decreases, then the rate of reaction will also decrease.

There were three test tubes in which the experiment was held. A relatively equal sized portion of raw
potato (this contained the enzyme [a biological catalyst] hydrogen peroxidase) was placed in each
tube. Then, enough water to cover the potato was added. Proceeding this, each of the test tubes were
assigned a temperature; cold, room temperature or warm (this was written on the tag so that they were
not confused). The test tube destinated cold was placed in a ice bath for five minutes. At the same
time, the hot test tube was placed in a hot water bath for five minutes. Meanwhile, the room
temperature test tube sat at room temperature for five minutes. When the five minutes were over, the
test tubes were returned to the rack (so that they were able to be observed). Then, the test tubes were
allowed to sit at room temperature for five more minutes. Once that period of time was over, 2 ml of
hydrogen peroxide (the substrate) was added to each tube.
Once this step was completed, a timer was started and observations were made. Using the timer, how

Berbers, however the Arabs allowed the Berbers to keep the laws and customs they already had. Later,
less than a century after this conquest, the Berbers revolted and regrouped into smaller, self governed

It was October 1, 2017, at the Country Music Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada that Stephen Paddock
fired upon a concert, resulting in hundreds killed and wounded altogether (Fox). Going back further to
2011, Jared Lee Loughner killed six and injured twelve, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford
(Moon 209). As more and more mass shootings emerge, it s unfortunate to think such tragedies could
be avoided by involuntarily committing the perpetrator. As of 2017, involuntary commitment, also
known as civil commitment, is a law where the court can order the mentally ill to get treatment against
their consent so long as they pose a danger to self or other (Evans and Salekin 325). By implementing
a less restrictive version of the current law where danger is not the only criteria, the U.S. can provide
equal access to mental health treatments, help get the homeless off the streets, and prevent violent
situations.
Occasionally while walking down the streets, a homeless man is seated against a wall talking
gibberish or a lady is pushing a cart around aimlessly for hours. That same homeless man commonly
overlooked by the law and passerby has the potential to be just like the average middle class person,
working a steady job, having a family, and owning a home of his own but is unfortunately held back
by his mental illness. These people are unable to receive treatment due to having no family, money,
and because they don t impose any danger. On the other hand, less restrictive involuntary commitment
laws would allow for this person to enter a treatment facility at no cost, help them get better, and start
their life anew. For example, less restrictive involuntary commitment laws would provide housing and
proper treatment to those who cannot afford or aren t able to get the help they need on their own. By
eliminating the worry of finding housing, a patient can focus more on getting better mentally and
getting off the streets for good. Supporters of the housing first method agree that once homeless
