On September 10th 2017 Mr. Striker placed out 10 dead baby piglets in the body farm at Wabash
Heartland Career Center. The piglets all had different factors and the piglets where all still born.
Before the body farm even started we wrote theories on questions that we were given and what
we would think would happen to each piglet in different factors. We started observing these
piglets on September 11th 2017. We observed these piglets for three weeks until mostly all of the
piglets where decomposed all the way to bones. The piglet that was burned (piglet 2) was the
one to decompose the fastest out of the natural state piglet in the grass (piglet 1) and a buried
piglet (piglet 10). My initial thought was correct that piglet 2 would decompose fastest due to
less skin for the bugs to get through the skin and get inside of the piglet. Piglet 2 decomposed on
day 9 it was completely bones with no skin or flesh left on the bones due to maggots and other
insects. Piglet 1 still had maggots on its legs on day 9 and was decomposed on day 11 with only
bones left. The piglet 10 still has not been completely decomposed on day 15. The speed of
decompositionis different when the piglet is naked on the black top (piglet6) or a clothed piglet

Food insecurity is a fact for millions of American every day in our country. Children, adults, and
the elderly of all races, living in poverty or in lower middle class families, are at a higher risk of
not having enough to eat. The United States, in 2012, used roughly 40% or 915 million acres of
all US land as farmland (USDA 2014, 1), yet as a nation we cannot feed all of our people. The
American government subsidizes commodity crops, such as corn, wheat, and soy more than any

In my previous English courses, I had no knowledge of writing an essay, or even a proper
sentence. Writing did not seem like anything important in my life, or that it would affect me
anyway in the future. I had despised my own writing and loathed having to write essays for any
of my classes. When I had enrolled in Composition I, I had no idea what I was going to do to pass.
However, in class, we had done collaborative work, which had helped me progress myself.
Collaborative work had consisted of multiple students helping each other, sharing ideas, and
peer reviews. This was a change of pace for me since I had not done that before. In previous classes,

Guido, Joshua, and the rest of the Jewish community presented in the film were treated
with disrespect and injustice. Every person has worth and value that cannot be lost or
taken away. Although Guido was oppressed because of his religion, his human dignity
could not be taken from him. Guido knew very well that he was not to blame for the
brutality that he and his family faced. Guido knew that it was wrong for the fascists to
decide when and how the Jewish population would die. Thus, Guido did not succumb to
the forces that oppressed him. Instead he fought for his life and that of his family, as
Guido knew that it was not worth surrendering himself and forgetting to live his life.
Despite having been a victim of the disaster, which was the Holocaust, Guido
proved himself to be a strong character. Rather than giving in to the oppressive forces
that seemed to dominate the entire population, Guido fought for what he believed in.

Smolinsky transitioned from being financially dependent and bound to her father, to a person

some realize. Many people who are born with developmental disabilities start their education and
therapy at a very young age and there are also those people who have been diagnosed with a
disability sometime during their lifetime. But what is there for them to do once they have
graduated from high school or are told they are too old to continue in a regular school or they are

But the issue is that not everything in these policies or standards is being acted upon. On a more
personal level my only sister is 23 years old and she is down syndrome. She graduated from high
school almost 2 years ago and both myself and my mother are having an extremely hard time
finding some sort of service or even a facility that can help my sister continue to learn
independence as well as continue some type of education. We have tried everything from the
local community college, which turned her down because she isn t able to read at an 8th grade
level, to the El Paso Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center, who wouldn t help her

governments regulations purposes and policies, there still isn t enough being done to help
people with developmental disabilities lead a somewhat normal life or to continue an education
so that they are able to fit into the normal community, as well as not sit at home for the rest of
