The Cellar Girls
Have you ever thought about being taken by a stranger and thinking you will never see you friends or
family again? I believe that could be the scariest thing that could ever happen to someone. In the the
book The Cellar girls are bing kidnapped and they are being named after flowers. The man named
Clover thinks that if he takes girls and keeps them in the basement he could make the perfect family.
But if any of the girls try to attack him they will strongly regret it and they may even get killed. In this
paper i will be using the strategy connection. In the book I can connect to some of the things in it. In
life people have happy things happen and negative things happen. Life throws too much crap at us as
it is, so why hold onto something

Analysis Of The Most Dangerous GameAndMarionettes Inc.
The main purpose of writing is to provide readers with life lessons that they can learn from to
contribute beneficially on this earth. The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, Marionettes Inc.
by Ray Bradbury, and The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant all provide much insight on one specific
lesson. The Most Dangerous Game is about a General that hunts humans, and he has never lost, but
this time he met his match with Rainsford. Marionettes Inc is about a man named Braling that replaces
himself with a identical robot so he may go to Rio without his wife finding out, but the robot may just
take over his whole existence. The Necklace is about a woman named Madame Loisel, she borrows a
necklace for a party in order to look wealthy, but she loses the necklace and goes into poverty from
buying a replacement to give to her friend. These three works all confirm that being too self absorbed
leads to selfish actions that often harm the causative person more than others; this is demonstrated
when the characters put their needs before others in order to fulfill their own personal desires.
Specifically, The Most Dangerous Game , exemplifies General Zaroff as egocentric through his
unethical actions that he thought would benefit his self worth, but really the actions destroyed his life.
Zaroff feels The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure. I am strong... I hunt the
scum of the earth: sailors from tramp ships lassars, blacks, Chinese, whites,

Self/Peer Evaluation Assignment
Self Evaluation:
Using the rubric on the back, what participation grade do you believe you earned in the Athens game?
Explain and justify your estimation in 2 or more sentences.
I believe that I received an A for participation because I attended every class/game session. During
every session, I spoke on the issue(s) at hand, while referencing the book and the works provided in
the book. I understood the goals of my faction and character and tried to persuade others to see the
issues the way the Oligarchs saw them.
Did you accomplish the goals of your character/ your faction? Explain.

If I would have spoken, Socrates might have been given more amnesty and might still be in Athens.
Was there a moment in the game where it finally clicked, where you finally felt in the game ? Explain.
During an outside meeting with the Followers of Socrates the game finally made sense to me. I was
outside of class talking in character to other classmates; I was finally making the connections the book
said I would need to make. The rest of the game seemed easier after I gained a greater understanding
of the purpose of the game.
If you could go back in time to the beginning of the game, knowing what you know now about the
game experience, what piece of advice would you offer? What do you wish you knew then?
I wish I would have known that collaboration with other factions and the indeterminates was a must to
succeed in the game. If I had known this at the beginning of the game, I would have been more
proactive in contacting the indeterminates to determine which faction they might have been siding
with.
Collaboration
One purpose of the game is to help students to develop better collaborative and leadership skills. Part
of this is identifying one s own strengths and weaknesses in this regard while also realizing what
makes an effective working group and what does not.

Toronto Road Safety Epidemic
The Toronto Road Safety Commission understands the growing safety epidemic on the streets of
Toronto. The safety of all citizens is our top priority. The problem is not being fully addressed and the
citizens of the city are at risk. Road traffic injuries put a threat on public health and deserve attention
now. On average there is more than one pedestrian death a week. In the first 15 days of 2018 there
have been seven deaths related to the road. This puts the city at a 250% increase since last year
(Toronto Star). Cycle Toronto executive director Jared Kolb reports that there is a pedestrian hit every
three hours and a cyclist hit every six hours. Those who are the most vulnerable in the city are seeing
the most impact from the crisis (CBCnews). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After these factors are understood it is important to mention that road safety is everyone s
responsibility. The target groups of Toronto must be understood to get the appropriate analysis of
audience when implementing change. The groups are as follows: vehicle operators, both private and
public transport passengers, pedestrians cyclists, older adults, motorcyclists, school children and
teachers to create safe school zones. By implementing change within these groups we can create
change and make a difference on the streets of Toronto. It should be mentioned that Toronto is set up
in four community council areas, which are North York, Toronto East York, Etobicoke York and
Scarborough. To get a better understanding of the effects in each area Figure 0.1 demonstrates the total
amount of pedestrian killed or injured by each region from 2008 2012. It is shown that Toronto East
York holds the top spot with 36% of collisions with a total of 3,129. Followed by North York holding
24% of collisions with a total of 2,021. Leading to Etobicoke York holding 20% of collisions with a
total of 1,721. Lastly with Scarborough holding 19% of collisions at a total of 1,655 (City of Toronto).

Deafness and the Power of Signing Essay examples
Deafness and the Power of Signing
When the deaf Miss America spoke to a crowd of thousands about overcoming her handicap, deaf
people across America were disgusted. Deafness is not a handicap, I have been told again and again. It
is a cultural identity, a way of life, a choice, even (some hard of hearing people speak of the time when
they had to decide, deaf or hearing), but never a handicap, never something to be overcome. The sign
for people like Miss America is the sign for hearing, with the forefinger circling up by the forehead
instead of down by the mouth. She thinks she s hearing, is what it means. There is also a sign for the
reverse: some hearing people get so involved in the deaf community that they think they are deaf, ...

One of these elements is a heightened appreciation for the margins, for the periphery.
Symmetry
According to Ronnie Wilbur of Boston University, a strict Symmetry Condition exists for signs where
both hands move, they must have the same handshapes and both hands movements must be either
identical or in polar opposition to one another (1). Some symmetrical signs: family, group class place,
love, community. The deaf community is not a mirror image of the hearing world; ASL is not English
with the sound off.
Bring the fingertips of your right hand together. Touch the fingertips to your chin near your mouth,
then up further to the right, by your ear. Home is significant for so many deaf people, for the ones who
grew up in a hearing world, missing whole conversations, falling behind in school, acting as hearing
as they could. One deaf teacher told me she was sure, as a child, that when she turned eighteen she
would become hearing: she didn t know any deaf adults, so she just assumed they didn t exist. She
didn t know what sign language was. When she turned eighteen and was still deaf, she decided to go
to Gallaudet, the only deaf liberal arts college in the country. She said she couldn t really explain it to
me, I wouldn t really know, but she felt like she was finally home had finally found

Building Relationships With Customers Is A Key Marketing...
Building enduring relationships with customers is a key marketing objective for most firms
(Elbedweihy et al., 2016). Customers choose to identify with brands they perceive as attractive,
motivated by their self definitional needs fulfillment (Bhattacharya Sen, 2003). Identifying with a
company that has an attractive perceived identity may result in benefits to customers in terms of self
enhancement (Marin et al., 2009). Customers will feel the motivational impulse to attain a
psychological attachment to a brand when they perceive the brand as attractive and as partially
fulfilling one or more of their fundamental self definitional needs (Currás Pérez et al., 2009).
Customer experience is generated from customer value and is a customer s perception based on
interactions through either direct use or distance appreciation of products (Hansen Christensen, 2003).
Holbrook s (2002) stated that there are three values measuring user experience: usability, social value
and usage pleasure. Usability can be defined through efficiency, learnability, memorability, and
represents a broader construct integrating perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Social value
accrues to the user because of possessing a particular product. Finally, pleasure is referred to as soft
functionality of a product that represent hedonic value that defines emotional relationship of a user
with a product (Cited in Mishra, 2016). There are some concepts that are related to customer brand

An Enhanced Graphical Password Scheme Using Aonv Essay
AN ENHANCED GRAPHICAL PASSWORD SCHEME USING AONV
ABRACT
Conventional textual password has been in use for authentication for a long time due to its ease of use.
However, drawbacks such as weak or stolen passwords and unrecalled passwords, has frequently
compromised security. Consequently, graphical password technique has been proposed from
literatures as a solution. However, this technique still faced with the challenge of peep attacks, tradeoff
between easy use (minima cognitive requirement) and secured strength (moderate complexity) issues.
This research presented a graphic based password scheme using Arithmetic Operators and Numerical
Value (AONV) in which the aforementioned issues are addressed. The AONV model consists of
registration and verification stages which users must successfully complete in order to be
authenticated. A hybrid technique based on recognition, cued and pure recall was adopted. The system
security was enhanced by image matching, numerical value, computational numeric secret key,
arithmetic operator and shuffling of images in grid cells. This help in frustrating shoulder surfing
attacks during the login session and maintain balance between usability security strengthen. The
model was implemented using C#.net programming language and SQL Server 2008 serves as the
backend. It was observed that out of 18 registered users, 100% remembered their images, 94.44%

Role Of Skilful Advocation In The Merchant Of Venice
Abstract: William Shakespeare is one of the greatest dramatists in the world. In fact, all the gigantic

was originated in the glamorous reign of Queen Elizabeth I, one of the most celebrated monarchs in
European history. Moreover, he is one of the most precious jewels in the dramatic world that is hoisted

Skakespeare and his style of writing
Shakespeare s plays are a product of the Elizabethan theatrical context in which they were first
performed. A lot of pressure was put on Shakespeare as he wrote his plays because he was not allowed
to upset the royal family. His style would have been different than others in those times and a lot more
thought has gone into his writing than people listening would think. Usually, the audience take for
granted the cleverness and thought of Shakespeare s writing, however, now we have studied and gone
into great detail about Shakespeare s writing, we can appreciate it more than they did:
The Globe Theatre was where Shakespeare had most of his plays performed. It had many decorations

For example, they say Bernado, and Holla Barnado and Say what, is Horatio there? He also cunningly
tells us the people in the play are: And liegeman to the Dane , the rivals of my watch and Friends to
the ground . This tells us that Horatio and Marcellus are the good guys and it also tells us their role in
the play the watch.
Also, Shakespeare sets the scene. Dialogue has to compensate for the lack of real night time. He does
this by using dialogue like: Tis now struck twelve and Who s there? Stand and unfold yourself , and
Give you good night. He also tells us what the night is like, Tis bitter cold, and Not a mouse stirring.
This all tells us that the night is cold, quiet, just gone twelve and nothing much is happening, without
the use of real darkness.
Shakespeare also uses hidden stage directions for the actors sake, for instance, Barnado says Get thee
to bed Francisco which is really telling the actor to leave the stage. Shakespeare also says Barnado
hath my place. Give you good night which tells the other actors that he will be leaving the stage. This
also tells the audience that Barnado is taking over his place from then on. Barnado also says, Sit down
a while then Horatio says Well, sit we down which means that they should sit down.
Furthermore, Shakespeare will use the actors as narrators. They would tell the audience what is
happening, but at the same time they would be playing their part in the play. For

Role Of Frugality In Colonial America
Writing Assignment Option 1C Students have often debated whether a morality based or profit based
approach proved more influential in shaping colonial American economies. Colonial Americans are
influenced by both moral and profit in their economies, when taking into consideration industry, care,
frugality, or knowledge. A morality based approach takes into consideration ethics and values, while a
profit based approach focuses on making as much money as possible. Although there were ways
colonial American economies were influenced by profit, colonial American economies were more
influenced by morals due to the features and values of their economic system. To begin with, people

This can be seen in luxurious lifestyles such as William Byrd s, in which he constantly reads, such as
Homer, Hebrew and Dutch. Franklin also expresses the idea of knowledge in a sense of morality by
explaining that it is important to be able to be advised, for without that one cannot be helped, and
therefore cannot learn. It was important to be able to learn in order to know what things lead to wealth.
For example, agriculture was a vital aspect of the colonial economy. It was important to note that
Staple Crops, such as tobacco, wheat, and corn, were the crops that helped provide a foundation in
which the colonies were able to grow rapidly. This is because most Puritans were farmers, and in order
for them to keep up with the economy and obtain more wealth, they had to take a morality based

Due Process
Due Process

Abstract
We all wonder what the words life, liberty, and property derived from. In this paper I will be
explaining what due process is and how it relates to life, liberty, and property. I will also explain
where due process came from and what 2 amendments relate to due process. Before we start though I
would like you to know that due process is there to protect the defendant under proving guilty.
Define due process and its origin? Due process refers to a set of established legal principles, derived
from the Constitution, that seek to protect the rights if citizens. It is done to insure that the government
treats all the individuals properly and does not abuse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Substantive refers to the specific rights being denied, even if the process is deemed fair. Actions are
taken by the state in a process that would be considered fair, but could still be challenged on the basis
that it improperly denies a right. Substantive is which includes all your basic amendment rights. An
example could be Griswold vs. Connecticut (1995). Connecticut law made it illegal for doctors to
dispense birth control to their patients. The court ruled that the law violated the Constitution not
because it was passed or applied improperly, but because it denied that patients their right to privacy.
Another example could be the law that Pennsylvania has that everyone that wants to vote will need to
show a valid ID to prove that no laws are being broken. This applies because it goes against a person
right to speech and freedom. One good example I like to think due process came from was from the
Bible on the Garden of Eden, because God did not immediately punish them. The first thing that God
did was ask Where art thou Adam? Thereby giving him notice. God gave him a chance to be heard by
asking Didn t thou eat the forbidden fruit (The Beginning, 2007)? In my options this in when due
process came into affects; no one would like to relate due process to the Garden of Eden time.

My Research For Brave New World
Cultural Clash In my research for Brave New World, I came across literary criticism that unveiled
fresh perspective of the work when it comes to the psychology of characters. The idea of a perfectly
stable world versus a world of recklessness and savagery that shape every aspect of human morale and
convictions held at society s core beliefs; which through psychological analysis of characters and how
their external influences can vindicate questionable actions displayed by those in the novel. The
dichotomy of inherited and learned behavior in society, clashes with diffusions of culture ands impacts
on instinctive culture, all accentuated by John the Savage and his intricately fervent relationships with

Torture, being defined by the 1984 Convention Against Torture is the cruel, inhumane, or degrading
infliction of severe pain or suffering, physical or mental, on a prisoner to obtain information or a
confession, or to mete out a punishment for a suspected crime (Beehner), is condemned and
considered illegal by the United States of America and carries severe punishment for those that carry

What would the United States be like if Americans couldn t practice their customs, culture, or even

native countries and cultures have faced this type of dilemma. The Spanish influence on the Aztecs
and the English on Native Americans are two examples of this imperialistic move. If only these
cultures had a strong network of men and women who devoted their lives towards keeping their
culture and history alive for future generations. The Gaelic League was based upon this definition.

The congestion led to the activation of the Irish Poor laws in 1838 by Great Britain s Queen Victoria.
These laws were enforced in an attempt to promote emigration to areas like the United States and
Australia. All the outcomes of the Famine were not necessarily negative. One such incentive was
modernization. According to Garvin, Ireland has been a modernizing society since the Famine, and the
tragedy of the Famine was itself the occasion of a great modernizing change (469). The demand for an
institution of education was in order.
To answer the demand would eventually lead to, The Gaelic League, the dominant institution of the
third revival, (Hutchinson 484) with the second revival being the Irish Protestant/ Catholic liberation
of 1829. With the loss of so many people, religion became a large part of the community. Such a
devastating event left the Irish vulnerable to outside influences, especially the British. A powerful
nation could easily push its culture, society, and government on a weak country like Ireland in the mid
to late 1800s. To counter the British, religion took on a stronghold on Irish living. The Catholic
Church, through the work of dedicated priests throughout the southern regions of Ireland, grew in
popularity and even united small rural towns. This action rebuilt trust in communities and aided the
most devastated of areas. The major Christian groups, Irish Protestants and Catholics, would be

Diversity In Downtown Areas
The vision for downtown districts will vary from city to city; however, there are a number of policies
in place to help preserve and provide affordable housing for low income at risk populations
throughout downtown districts. Therefore, the vision for downtown districts should always include
some sort of diversity of incomes. Diversity should always be a key component and downtown
managers, leaders, and developers are committed to providing and building homes that are reasonably
priced. Low income housing is generally defined as housing affordable to households that make below
50 percent of the area median income. In many instances this means that these individuals will receive
public subsidies, or either direct payment goes to the project owner through vouchers and certificates.

The report goes on to say that in order to maintain healthy balance within downtown districts, the new
low income residents will include teachers, policeman, and fireman, child care workers, medical
technicians, elderly, and the disabled, and single parent families. So as I read this information I realize
there are several contradictions. In one breath, the downtown district is suitable for certain classes of
people which make a clear distinction between what the downtown district considers healthy and
unhealthy. As a social worker this raises some red flags for me. This leads me to believe that a certain
classes of people are preferred and accepted. They may be low income but they are still preferred
because they are considered the working class, and to hear that the concept of affordability shifts as
the economy shifts is disheartening. So I can see that the vision will include diversity among incomes;

Taking a Look at Holden s Inmaturity
Catcher in The Rye Essay
Holden s Immaturity Holden is just a young man, but he is going through a very cruel and unforgiving
world that will change him forever. He overcomes many obstacles and barley gets out of it with his
sanity still in tact. Holden is a different kind of person and he is just not wired like everybody else. He
is represented as an outsider that is clearly different. Holden can change in his views quickly and they
can stay that way for quite a long time. Holden in the beginning is very very innocent, and doesn t
exactly know how bad of a place the world is and know how bad people can become. Holden is also
very immature and doesn t understand what he is doing wrong in being immature. Holden has many
emotions and views that he does not exactly know how to deal with, or when to deal with. He has
certain views that are very hypocritical and immature. He thinks that he wants to do something, that in
the end he would only regret, and he never does do these things, but the fact that he thinks about it
clearly shows off his immaturity. Holden fails to grow up, and that hurts him throughout the novel
multiple times causing, ultimately his path to be very different than he expected. In J.D. Salinger
Catcher in the Rye, the main character, Holden Caufield, is fails to evolve maturely throughout the
whole novel, regarding women, thinking out his actions, and killing. Holden has very hypocritical and
wrong views about women and taking advantage of them

The Importance Of Public Surveillance
With the increase in public surveillance by governments and big coperations, there has grown a need
to combat it and its effects on society today. It s mainly a question of privacy to everyone, can we
really trust him, so what s Public surveillance and automated face recognition? Public Surveillance is
the monitoring of conduct, exercises, or other changing data to influence, oversee, coordinate or
protect individuals. This can incorporate the use of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) or capturing of
electronically transmitted data, for example, through phone calls. Besides that, it s no longer a dusk to
dawn activity but 24/7. Automated Face Recognition can be best described as the use of specialised
software to identify individuals in digital images or videos using sophisticated algorithms that are
linked to databases. This kind of software is able to compare several facial features of a person and
uniquely identify them amongst a million others accurately.
In 2013, the act of public surveillance and automated face recognition by world governments was
raised after Edward Snowden exposed the global surveillance documents. Revealing in view of

freedoms and the privilege to security in this Digital Age. So how is it carried out. As stated above

Stylistic Patterns In Darkness And Darkness By Joseph Marowe
Stylistic texture as part of the implicit characterization process is established as a characteristic of the
literary text. First, the reader/audience is faced with the question of the way individual sentences of a
speech relate to one another. Whether they are connected in a strictly logical way, whether they form a
more associative series, they always emphasize the structure of a character s level of awareness. All
significant deviations from the normal frequencies in the areas of syntactic and lexical selection and
combination can also serve to delineate a character: the frequency of certain sentence types (such as
statements or questions), the predominance of active or passive forms, the use of parallelisms and

But fixed now in the meridian line,

And cause the sun to borrow light of you; (p.44)
This is a form of expression which Marlowe nowhere else uses as often as in this play. Marlowe can
use imagery to differentiate his characters, for example, Bajazeth s speeches contain images from the
underworld and are full of monsters and darkness,

Before I yield to such a slavery. (p.43)
Then, as I look down to the damned fiends,

Tamburlaine speaks of the frame of heaven, the triple region of the air, his imagery referring to the
heavens and the classical heroes. The playwright ultimate goal was amplification. Tamburlaine s
speech is not redundant rhetoric, but it seems rational and also it seems to express what will happen.
There are sections in the play which compare Tamburlaine with rulers whose incapacity is marked by
their linguistic disability. Mycetes finds himself insufficient to express his sense of grievance, other

questions could not be found in a book. I soon realized that memorizing formulas would not suffice; I
needed a way to visualize intricate ideas on the subatomic level. But this is what made me love the
experience the challenge. Everything we did used chemistry concepts but took it a step further. The
goal was not to get the right answer; with each step we were closer to a solution for patients struggling
with cancer. This topic hit home to me because it felt as though I was personally leave a touch on lives
of each person I knew who the disease had affected. Through working for a purpose greater than just
myself, I found a new love for chemistry.
Chemistry is a very challenging field of study and would provide the obstacles needed for me to grow
as a student and young adult.

Tanning Beds Usage Among High School Students
Tanning Bed Usage Among High School Students
Introduction here
Tanning Beds and Health Outcomes
Among the general public the use of tanning beds is associated with a variety of health risks.
According to Madigan and Lim (2016), some of the risks include an increased occurrence of skin
cancers (melanoma and nonmelanoma) and becoming psychologically dependent on using tanning
beds. Another interesting health outcome linked to tanning bed use is people who use them tend to
participate in other high risk health behaviors (Madigan Lim, 2016, 640). For the purpose of this
paper, I will focus on the skin cancer and high risk behavior outcomes linked with tanning bed use.
Melanoma Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer
According to International Agency for Research on Cancer s (2007) systematic review about sunbeds
and melanoma cancer worldwide, First exposure to sunbeds before 35 years of age significantly
increased the risk of melanoma (1116). Further research strengthens the link between tanning beds and
melanoma. Lazovich et al. (2010) studied the diagnosed cases of melanoma in the state of Minnesota
between 2004 2007. The age group they studied was 25 59, and asked the study participants about
their tanning bed practices (1557). They found out that the odds ratio for the likelihood of melanoma
in relation to having ever tanned indoors was 1.74...Melanoma risk increased markedly with frequency
of use (Lazovich et al., 2010, 1564).
There is also considerable evidence regarding the use

Women in The Count of Monte Cristo
Women in The Count of Monte Cristo possess unique personalities, but intensely similar restrictions.
Currently, women in the United States, as well as other countries, are able to have jobs, travel, and
participate in many other activities that the ladies Dumas portrays are not allowed to. Feminist
analysis of this book reveals the ways of the time and the delicate balance of society s typical
structure. In The Count of Monte Cristo, Alexandre Dumas realistically conveys that when women
violate their traditional roles, the balance of life is disrupted. This is evident through descriptions of
instances in which females are in the home as well as when they are not. When women are kept in
their classical role of mother and caretaker, all is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eugénie Danglars is another example of the destructiveness that comes when women are not
following society s standards. An independent and atypical woman, Eugénie defies her father, leaves
home, and disguises herself as a man. Her decision to run away with Louise d Armilly was a true
statement of women s lack of rights. As she declares on page 411, I told him about my fear of
traveling as a woman. He understood me perfectly and offered to get a man s passport for me. I
received this one two days later; I wrote in the words, traveling with his sister myself . Whether or not
this fear was legitimate, it shows how both society and individuals viewed women as weaker and
lesser. Because Eugénie left her stereotypical role, she faced challenges that she overcame only
because she cut her hair off and dressed like a man. Therefore, her defiance of classic responsibilities
shows that women are viewed as problematic, lesser, and pathetic compared to males. Lastly, Madame
Danglars also represents the consequences of breaking the mold. She dishonors her husband by having
an affair, and is thus the mother of Benedetto, the illegitimate son whom she thinks has died. When
Madame Danglars later discovers the child is actually alive, she feels unbelievably guilty. Her
daughter, Eugénie, despises her and her husband. Furthermore, her marriage is a mess, shown when
Madame Danglars says, If he d thought I

I have chosen Wal Mart Stores Inc for my final paper topic selection they are also known as WMT on
the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) . I am intrigued with their success but also scared about how
dependant I have become with my shopping at their stores. This store is not only a retail giant it is also
retail bully that forces other stores to go out of business. Wal Mart not only specializes in retail items
such as clothing, jewelry, lawn, and garden they also have super stores that specialize in pharmacy,
groceries, auto repair, and check cashing in addition to the services mentioned above. The only other
store that has similar retail items and services is Super K Mart which has seriously declined in retail

Stress Management Techniques Analysis
The four techniques that I used to help manage my stress were art therapy, time
management/scheduling, social support and doing a hobby to take my mind off of stressors. I was
hesitant to practice these techniques because I feel like I am able to manage my stress well anyways,
but as I started consciously using these techniques, I realized that my mind was a lot clearer and I did
not feel as overwhelmed. I was already doing these techniques on a smaller scale, but when I decided
to go all out and focus on using them, I realized that I was not that good at managing my stress, I was
just used to having this stress in my life.
Benefits
Some benefits that I received when I practiced the stress management techniques were that I was able
to worry less and have a clearer mind. I was able to spend my time taking care of what causing the

Before this semester, I thought I was pretty good at managing stress but these techniques showed me
that I was not as good as I thought I was. For the first couple of weeks I did not use any of the
techniques because I thought that it was pointless and that I did not need them. I eventually decided to
try them out because I need to do it for this assignment and I figured that it could not be any more
hurtful than helpful and it did not take too much effort. The first technique that I practiced was art
therapy and I came to love it. I taught myself how to watercolor paint and now I can paint for hours at
a time. When I paint I focus on what I am doing and all of my worries escape my mind. I am so
focused that my mind does not have room to think about the stressors and it is so relaxing. Painting is
now a hobby and something that I can do to relieve stress. If I had not started practicing art therapy
then I might not have discovered my love for watercolor. I will definitely continue to use art therapy to

William Wallace s Speech In Braveheart
In the movie Braveheart, William Wallace, played by Mel Gibson, gives one of the greatest speeches
known to man. Wallace is the leader of the Scottish warriors, who are at war with England. This
speech was very persuasive and effective in preparing his troops for battle. Many of his troops did not
even believe it was him; William Wallace had become more of a myth than a man. This will just show
the audience how influential this man and his speech was. Wallace s speech to the Scottish warriors is
persuasive and effective because he keeps his soldiers from retreating and gives them courage by
inspiring the soldiers to value their freedom.

He had fought and won many battles for the freedom of Scotland and obviously knew what it meant to
fight for his freedom. He was a legend in Scotland and was more of a myth than a man in many people
s eyes. In the beginning of the speech, a young soldier is interrupts Wallace in saying that William
Wallace is 7 feet tall. Wallace sarcastically remarks back, Yes, I ve heard. Kills men by the hundreds,
and if he were here he d consume the English with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from
his arse (Gibson). This statement proves that William was immortalized in the eyes of the Scottish
through the mere fact that they thought all of these impossible things about him. This recognition and
immortalization of Wallace caused extreme loyalty and admiration for him as a person and his cause.
Therefor, Wallace was credible enough that people would listen to him and take his speech seriously.
No one had lost more by the hands of the English than Wallace himself. He had lost his father, his
wife, and the lives of many of his fellow brothers of Scotland through this war. If anyone had a reason

Essay on The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
In an article on sin, Samuel Taylor Coleridge defines sin as an evil which has its ground or origin in
the agent, and not in the compulsion of circumstances. (65). Coleridge s definition of sin excludes any
outside cause of sin, besides the agent himself. Coleridge s poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is
a poem of sin, but it is also a poem that questions etiology. John Livingston Lowes writes The
relentless line of cause and consequence runs likewise, unswerving as the voyage, through the poem
(68). Cause and consequence in the poem, however, should not be taken at face value. Certainly the
violent act of the Mariner has consequences, but Coleridge also brings a logical fallacy into light: Post
hoc ergo propter hoc, or after this, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because it is unprovoked, it fits Coleridge s definition of sin: A sin is an evil which has its ground or
origin in the agent, and not in the compulsion of circumstances ( On Original Sin 65). The mariner s
assault had no foundation or rhyme or reason. In fact, the assault is a rejection of an extension of
hospitality from nature. True hospitality requires a suppression of selfish desire. Although the bird s
presence was hospitable, it was out of the mariner s control, threatening his self. The rising up of self,
striving to assert its power, inhibits fellowship. D.W. Harding asserts that The Mariner s sin...was that
in killing the albatross, he rejected a social offering...The Mariner wantonly obliterated something
which loved him and which represented in a supernatural way the possibility of affection in the world
(78). The Mariner s rejection of the albatross s extension of hospitality or of fellowship to the Mariner
is self assertion, but it also paves the way for a self caused isolation. Harding goes on to claim that the
Mariner s rejection of the albatross s affection was the most terrible possibility among the sins (78).
The one stanza describing the Mariner s violence against nature sets the stage for the entirety of the
poem. It is hard to avoid religious associations with the murder of the albatross. The albatross is
described as a pious bird (Coleridge 432). As if it had been a Christian soul, the seamen on the

Michael Jackson s Influence On Pop Culture
Albert Einstein, Robin Williams, Shakespeare, every one of the people have greatly influenced the
world today. Among the list of extremely influential people lies, Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson
was born in 1958 in Gary, Indiana. Jackson was a man of many talents, an entertainer, a philosopher, a
recording artist, and the list goes on. With his extravagant personal life, his contribution to music and
fashion, and his widely known dance moves/skills, he turned out to be the most influential person in
popular culture for over forty years. Throughout his life, Michael Jackson heavily influenced today s
top artists, the technological realm of music videos and the TV industry, and heavily impacted
charities.

The first and most evident Jackson follower was Usher. For many years, Usher has been depicted as
the next Michael Jackson (Montgomery). Similarly to Michael Jackson s Thriller, Usher s album,
Confessions, contains an abundance of styles. Starting with an intense classic, and ending with a deep,
raw ballad. Like Jackson, Usher used his musical talent to move beyond simple pop balladry and
develop a pure, singular artistic vision (Keyes). Usher himself states, I wouldn t be who I am today
without Michael Jackson. Although Jackson s influence on pop music artists was far more evident, one
can still see his influence in hip hop artists such as, Kanye West. Kanye portrays the superstar
ambition, which is the desire to accomplish everything bigger and better than anyone and everyone
and the power to bring one unified vision to a mass of people, that Jackson portrayed as well.
Additionally, Justin Timberlake was greatly influenced by Michael Jackson. Just like Michael,
Timberlake outgrew the band he started with and launched his solo career. Timberlake kick started his
career with a music video that was undeniably similar to Michael Jackson s video with the
choreography to the costuming. Another famous pop singer that uses Michael Jackson s methods is,
Katy Perry. Jackson and Katy Perry have been some of the only musicians to be able to oscillate
between universal anthems and personal ballads (Beaumont Thomas). Finally, considerably most
influenced by Michael Jackson is, Chris Brown. From his seemingly impossible dance skills to his
Michael Jackson inspired fedoras, Chris Brown dedicates almost his entire style for singing, dancing,
and fashion to his idol, Michael Jackson. Brown himself states, Michael Jackson is the reason why I
do music and why I am an entertainer. Although Michael Jackson died over seven years ago, he still

respiratory, and eye protection. The personal protective equipment (PPE) must be gas tight, vapor tight

The prospect of employment in the United States has always been somewhat of an economic magnet

events in our history along with others, have caused an increase in undocumented immigrants. As the

Congress s lack of actions to pass the legislation led to establishing a bill that would create the Select
Commission on Immigration and Refugee Policy (SCIRP). Then in 1981 Reverend Theodore
Hesburgh, who was the commission chair for SCIRP made some suggestions that were similar in
approach for penalties against employers hiring illegal immigrants, also granting amnesty once to
illegal immigrants, but allowing a modest growth with legal immigration. At this time President
Reagan had barely taken office and stated he would support a compromise on immigration that was
suggested by the Hesburgh Commission. The following year in March 1982, there were two
Commission members that introduced the first versions of what would be IRCA to Congress. They
were Senator Alan Simpson and Senator Romano Mazzoli, which it became better known as the
Simpson Mazzoli Act. IRCAs introduction into Congress was the initial step to the laborious process
to become a bill, but in the 97th Congress the bills died with the House of Representatives. In 1984
just two years after IRCA was first introduced in Congress and failed to pass within the House of
Representatives, it was reintroduced with the 98th Congress, but failed again to pass due to
disagreement within the House and the Senate. This piece of legislation dealt with an abundance of
opposition coming from powerful groups. Immigration advocates advised there would be
discrimination against Hispanic workers.

Robert Frost Duality
It is without a doubt that Robert Frost is one of the most famous and revered American poets of the
20th century, having been made distinct not only by his lyrical poems but also by his kind
grandfatherly appearance. However, it is important to note that despite this public image he conveys,
or perhaps the image that the public perceives, underneath Frost s seemingly light themed works are
indications of his darker, more contemplative themes. While his poems are very lyrical to an almost
melodic degree which lends a charming tone to them, close analysis of these reveals certain meanings
that can be considered as much deeper than the superficial message embodied in his words. In a way,
it can be said that Robert Frost is a master of poetic duality in the sense that whereas his works are
light from the outside, they possess a dark meaning. Which can be seen in three of his works ... Show

Three poems were used to illustrate this and each attests to the opposing nature of their literal and
figurative meanings. In In a Disused Graveyard, Frost explores fact of mortality as opposed to the
literal meaning of fooling the inanimate. In Stopping By Woods On a Snowy Evening, he ponders
escape from responsibility in contrast to a simple stopover beside woods. And finally, in Leaves
Compared with Flowers, Frost intimates the co existence of light and dark moods in a person. Yet
whereas one can identify certain meanings in his poems, it cannot be discounted that as poetry, Frost s
works remain ambiguous which opens many doors to various interpretations. What is universal,
nevertheless, is the co existence of different meanings which may range from the light and superficial
to the dark and profound. It is this vulnerability to various interpretations that Frost s poems prove to
be haunting as it is

Voltaire and the Enlightenment Essay
Voltaire and the Enlightenment
During the eighteenth century a group of French writers and critics known as the Philosophes favored
change and reform. They believed in the power of the human mind, which was an idea that was
inspired by the Scientific Revolution. The philosophes had faith in the power of rational criticism to
challenge the tradition of the past. They also sought to apply the rules of reason and common sense to
nearly all major institutions and social practices. The philosophes proposed a new kind of organized
religion, a social religion which encouraged harmony and tolerance while strengthening the bonds of
moral obligations within society. One of the major French philosophes during the eighteenth century
was Voltaire. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Voltaire stressed the need for people to use reason to make decisions about life.
Throughout Voltaire s life, he inspired people to use their reason to make decisions about religion. He
believed in social religion which was the belief in God and in a world of future rewards and
punishments.3 Social religion was as old as creation and believed by most people. However, it did
contradict organized Christianity with its miracles, supernatural doctrines, and its religious duties.
Voltaire made many attacks on the Bible and historic churches. He focused on the contradictions in the
Bible and the improbabilities of miracles. The greatest of his attacks was on the Old Testament.
Voltaire doubted the existence of Moses, said that the Pentateuch was absurd, and believed the Old
Testament was just a collection of fables. On the other hand, he also attacked the New Testament. He
called Jesus a good fellow, a coarse peasant, and a fanatic. 4 Many people read Voltaire s writings on
religion and so there was much dispute and conflict among the church. His attacks on the Bible made
people think and use reason in their lives.
Voltaire believed in God and that an afterlife was the most powerful force of moral constraint within
society, but as a philosophe he believed in the modern view of deism.5 Through the socialization of
deism, social religion was

satisfies high radiance similarity with the ground truth HDR images. The problem appears when using
linear model that usually fails when luminance value of a local patch changes abruptly. Also, the
dynamic range of the dark region will be compressed at the same rate as the bright pixels, which
causes losing details in this patch. Nonlinear model synchronize with the nonlinear relationship

  • 3. Analysis Of The Most Dangerous GameAndMarionettes Inc. The main purpose of writing is to provide readers with life lessons that they can learn from to contribute beneficially on this earth. The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, Marionettes Inc. by Ray Bradbury, and The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant all provide much insight on one specific lesson. The Most Dangerous Game is about a General that hunts humans, and he has never lost, but this time he met his match with Rainsford. Marionettes Inc is about a man named Braling that replaces himself with a identical robot so he may go to Rio without his wife finding out, but the robot may just take over his whole existence. The Necklace is about a woman named Madame Loisel, she borrows a necklace for a party in order to look wealthy, but she loses the necklace and goes into poverty from buying a replacement to give to her friend. These three works all confirm that being too self absorbed leads to selfish actions that often harm the causative person more than others; this is demonstrated when the characters put their needs before others in order to fulfill their own personal desires. Specifically, The Most Dangerous Game , exemplifies General Zaroff as egocentric through his unethical actions that he thought would benefit his self worth, but really the actions destroyed his life. Zaroff feels The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure. I am strong... I hunt the scum of the earth: sailors from tramp ships lassars, blacks, Chinese, whites, ... • 4. Essay About Self And Peer Evaluation Assignment Kylie Ellington HN 210 Clay Reacting to the Past: Athens, 403 BCE Self/Peer Evaluation Assignment Self Evaluation: Using the rubric on the back, what participation grade do you believe you earned in the Athens game? Explain and justify your estimation in 2 or more sentences. I believe that I received an A for participation because I attended every class/game session. During every session, I spoke on the issue(s) at hand, while referencing the book and the works provided in the book. I understood the goals of my faction and character and tried to persuade others to see the issues the way the Oligarchs saw them. Did you accomplish the goals of your character/ your faction? Explain. During Game Session One, I accomplished my personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If I would have spoken, Socrates might have been given more amnesty and might still be in Athens. Was there a moment in the game where it finally clicked, where you finally felt in the game ? Explain. During an outside meeting with the Followers of Socrates the game finally made sense to me. I was outside of class talking in character to other classmates; I was finally making the connections the book said I would need to make. The rest of the game seemed easier after I gained a greater understanding of the purpose of the game. If you could go back in time to the beginning of the game, knowing what you know now about the game experience, what piece of advice would you offer? What do you wish you knew then? I wish I would have known that collaboration with other factions and the indeterminates was a must to succeed in the game. If I had known this at the beginning of the game, I would have been more proactive in contacting the indeterminates to determine which faction they might have been siding with. Collaboration One purpose of the game is to help students to develop better collaborative and leadership skills. Part of this is identifying one s own strengths and weaknesses in this regard while also realizing what makes an effective working group and what does not. Some of the things that are important for a

  • 6. Toronto Road Safety Epidemic The Toronto Road Safety Commission understands the growing safety epidemic on the streets of Toronto. The safety of all citizens is our top priority. The problem is not being fully addressed and the citizens of the city are at risk. Road traffic injuries put a threat on public health and deserve attention now. On average there is more than one pedestrian death a week. In the first 15 days of 2018 there have been seven deaths related to the road. This puts the city at a 250% increase since last year (Toronto Star). Cycle Toronto executive director Jared Kolb reports that there is a pedestrian hit every three hours and a cyclist hit every six hours. Those who are the most vulnerable in the city are seeing the most impact from the crisis (CBCnews). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After these factors are understood it is important to mention that road safety is everyone s responsibility. The target groups of Toronto must be understood to get the appropriate analysis of audience when implementing change. The groups are as follows: vehicle operators, both private and public transport passengers, pedestrians cyclists, older adults, motorcyclists, school children and teachers to create safe school zones. By implementing change within these groups we can create change and make a difference on the streets of Toronto. It should be mentioned that Toronto is set up in four community council areas, which are North York, Toronto East York, Etobicoke York and Scarborough. To get a better understanding of the effects in each area Figure 0.1 demonstrates the total amount of pedestrian killed or injured by each region from 2008 2012. It is shown that Toronto East York holds the top spot with 36% of collisions with a total of 3,129. Followed by North York holding 24% of collisions with a total of 2,021. Leading to Etobicoke York holding 20% of collisions with a total of 1,721. Lastly with Scarborough holding 19% of collisions at a total of 1,655 (City of Toronto). • 7. Deafness and the Power of Signing Essay examples Deafness and the Power of Signing When the deaf Miss America spoke to a crowd of thousands about overcoming her handicap, deaf people across America were disgusted. Deafness is not a handicap, I have been told again and again. It is a cultural identity, a way of life, a choice, even (some hard of hearing people speak of the time when they had to decide, deaf or hearing), but never a handicap, never something to be overcome. The sign for people like Miss America is the sign for hearing, with the forefinger circling up by the forehead instead of down by the mouth. She thinks she s hearing, is what it means. There is also a sign for the reverse: some hearing people get so involved in the deaf community that they think they are deaf, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of these elements is a heightened appreciation for the margins, for the periphery. Symmetry According to Ronnie Wilbur of Boston University, a strict Symmetry Condition exists for signs where both hands move, they must have the same handshapes and both hands movements must be either identical or in polar opposition to one another (1). Some symmetrical signs: family, group class place, love, community. The deaf community is not a mirror image of the hearing world; ASL is not English with the sound off. Bring the fingertips of your right hand together. Touch the fingertips to your chin near your mouth, then up further to the right, by your ear. Home is significant for so many deaf people, for the ones who grew up in a hearing world, missing whole conversations, falling behind in school, acting as hearing as they could. One deaf teacher told me she was sure, as a child, that when she turned eighteen she would become hearing: she didn t know any deaf adults, so she just assumed they didn t exist. She didn t know what sign language was. When she turned eighteen and was still deaf, she decided to go to Gallaudet, the only deaf liberal arts college in the country. She said she couldn t really explain it to me, I wouldn t really know, but she felt like she was finally home had finally found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Building Relationships With Customers Is A Key Marketing... Building enduring relationships with customers is a key marketing objective for most firms (Elbedweihy et al., 2016). Customers choose to identify with brands they perceive as attractive, motivated by their self definitional needs fulfillment (Bhattacharya Sen, 2003). Identifying with a company that has an attractive perceived identity may result in benefits to customers in terms of self enhancement (Marin et al., 2009). Customers will feel the motivational impulse to attain a psychological attachment to a brand when they perceive the brand as attractive and as partially fulfilling one or more of their fundamental self definitional needs (Currás Pérez et al., 2009). Customer experience is generated from customer value and is a customer s perception based on interactions through either direct use or distance appreciation of products (Hansen Christensen, 2003). Holbrook s (2002) stated that there are three values measuring user experience: usability, social value and usage pleasure. Usability can be defined through efficiency, learnability, memorability, and represents a broader construct integrating perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Social value accrues to the user because of possessing a particular product. Finally, pleasure is referred to as soft functionality of a product that represent hedonic value that defines emotional relationship of a user with a product (Cited in Mishra, 2016). • 9. An Enhanced Graphical Password Scheme Using Aonv Essay AN ENHANCED GRAPHICAL PASSWORD SCHEME USING AONV ABRACT Conventional textual password has been in use for authentication for a long time due to its ease of use. However, drawbacks such as weak or stolen passwords and unrecalled passwords, has frequently compromised security. Consequently, graphical password technique has been proposed from literatures as a solution. However, this technique still faced with the challenge of peep attacks, tradeoff between easy use (minima cognitive requirement) and secured strength (moderate complexity) issues. This research presented a graphic based password scheme using Arithmetic Operators and Numerical Value (AONV) in which the aforementioned issues are addressed. The AONV model consists of registration and verification stages which users must successfully complete in order to be authenticated. A hybrid technique based on recognition, cued and pure recall was adopted. The system security was enhanced by image matching, numerical value, computational numeric secret key, arithmetic operator and shuffling of images in grid cells. This help in frustrating shoulder surfing attacks during the login session and maintain balance between usability security strengthen. The model was implemented using C#.net programming language and SQL Server 2008 serves as the backend. It was observed that out of 18 registered users, 100% remembered their images, 94.44% were remembered their numerical value and operator and 88.89% computed their secret key ... A lot of pressure was put on Shakespeare as he wrote his plays because he was not allowed to upset the royal family. His style would have been different than others in those times and a lot more thought has gone into his writing than people listening would think. Usually, the audience take for granted the cleverness and thought of Shakespeare s writing, however, now we have studied and gone into great detail about Shakespeare s writing, we can appreciate it more than they did: The Globe Theatre was where Shakespeare had most of his plays performed. For example, they say Bernado, and Holla Barnado and Say what, is Horatio there? He also cunningly tells us the people in the play are: And liegeman to the Dane , the rivals of my watch and Friends to the ground . This tells us that Horatio and Marcellus are the good guys and it also tells us their role in the play the watch. Also, Shakespeare sets the scene. Dialogue has to compensate for the lack of real night time. He does this by using dialogue like: Tis now struck twelve and Who s there? Stand and unfold yourself , and Give you good night. He also tells us what the night is like, Tis bitter cold, and Not a mouse stirring. This all tells us that the night is cold, quiet, just gone twelve and nothing much is happening, without the use of real darkness. Shakespeare also uses hidden stage directions for the actors sake, for instance, Barnado says Get thee to bed Francisco which is really telling the actor to leave the stage. Shakespeare also says Barnado hath my place. Give you good night which tells the other actors that he will be leaving the stage. This also tells the audience that Barnado is taking over his place from then on. Barnado also says, Sit down a while then Horatio says Well, sit we down which means that they should sit down. Furthermore, Shakespeare will use the actors as narrators. They would tell the audience what is happening, but at the same time they would be playing their part in the play. For ... Colonial Americans are influenced by both moral and profit in their economies, when taking into consideration industry, care, frugality, or knowledge. A morality based approach takes into consideration ethics and values, while a profit based approach focuses on making as much money as possible. In this paper I will be explaining what due process is and how it relates to life, liberty, and property. I will also explain where due process came from and what 2 amendments relate to due process. Before we start though I would like you to know that due process is there to protect the defendant under proving guilty. Define due process and its origin? Substantive refers to the specific rights being denied, even if the process is deemed fair. Actions are taken by the state in a process that would be considered fair, but could still be challenged on the basis that it improperly denies a right. Connecticut law made it illegal for doctors to dispense birth control to their patients. The court ruled that the law violated the Constitution not because it was passed or applied improperly, but because it denied that patients their right to privacy. Another example could be the law that Pennsylvania has that everyone that wants to vote will need to show a valid ID to prove that no laws are being broken. This applies because it goes against a person right to speech and freedom. One good example I like to think due process came from was from the Bible on the Garden of Eden, because God did not immediately punish them. The first thing that God did was ask Where art thou Adam? Thereby giving him notice. God gave him a chance to be heard by asking Didn t thou eat the forbidden fruit (The Beginning, 2007)? One such incentive was modernization. According to Garvin, Ireland has been a modernizing society since the Famine, and the tragedy of the Famine was itself the occasion of a great modernizing change (469). Although the bird s presence was hospitable, it was out of the mariner s control, threatening his self. The rising up of self, striving to assert its power, inhibits fellowship. D.W. The one stanza describing the Mariner s violence against nature sets the stage for the entirety of the poem. It is hard to avoid religious associations with the murder of the albatross. Congress s lack of actions to pass the legislation led to establishing a bill that would create the Select Commission on Immigration and Refugee Policy (SCIRP). Then in 1981 Reverend Theodore Hesburgh, who was the commission chair for SCIRP made some suggestions that were similar in approach for penalties against employers hiring illegal immigrants, also granting amnesty once to illegal immigrants, but allowing a modest growth with legal immigration. At this time President Reagan had barely taken office and stated he would support a compromise on immigration that was suggested by the Hesburgh Commission. The following year in March 1982, there were two Commission members that introduced the first versions of what would be IRCA to Congress. They were Senator Alan Simpson and Senator Romano Mazzoli, which it became better known as the Simpson Mazzoli Act. IRCAs introduction into Congress was the initial step to the laborious process to become a bill, but in the 97th Congress the bills died with the House of Representatives. In 1984 just two years after IRCA was first introduced in Congress and failed to pass within the House of Representatives, it was reintroduced with the 98th Congress, but failed again to pass due to disagreement within the House and the Senate. This piece of legislation dealt with an abundance of opposition coming from powerful groups. Immigration advocates advised there would be discrimination against Hispanic workers. ... • 34. Robert Frost Duality It is without a doubt that Robert Frost is one of the most famous and revered American poets of the 20th century, having been made distinct not only by his lyrical poems but also by his kind grandfatherly appearance. However, it is important to note that despite this public image he conveys, or perhaps the image that the public perceives, underneath Frost s seemingly light themed works are indications of his darker, more contemplative themes. While his poems are very lyrical to an almost melodic degree which lends a charming tone to them, close analysis of these reveals certain meanings that can be considered as much deeper than the superficial message embodied in his words. In a way, it can be said that Robert Frost is a master of poetic duality in the sense that whereas his works are light from the outside, they possess a dark meaning. Which can be seen in three of his works ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Three poems were used to illustrate this and each attests to the opposing nature of their literal and figurative meanings. In In a Disused Graveyard, Frost explores fact of mortality as opposed to the literal meaning of fooling the inanimate. In Stopping By Woods On a Snowy Evening, he ponders escape from responsibility in contrast to a simple stopover beside woods. And finally, in Leaves Compared with Flowers, Frost intimates the co existence of light and dark moods in a person. Yet whereas one can identify certain meanings in his poems, it cannot be discounted that as poetry, Frost s works remain ambiguous which opens many doors to various interpretations. What is universal, nevertheless, is the co existence of different meanings which may range from the light and superficial to the dark and profound. It is this vulnerability to various interpretations that Frost s poems prove to be haunting as it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They believed in the power of the human mind, which was an idea that was inspired by the Scientific Revolution. The philosophes had faith in the power of rational criticism to challenge the tradition of the past. They also sought to apply the rules of reason and common sense to nearly all major institutions and social practices. The philosophes proposed a new kind of organized religion, a social religion which encouraged harmony and tolerance while strengthening the bonds of moral obligations within society. Voltaire stressed the need for people to use reason to make decisions about life. Throughout Voltaire s life, he inspired people to use their reason to make decisions about religion. He believed in social religion which was the belief in God and in a world of future rewards and punishments.3 Social religion was as old as creation and believed by most people. However, it did contradict organized Christianity with its miracles, supernatural doctrines, and its religious duties. Voltaire made many attacks on the Bible and historic churches. He focused on the contradictions in the Bible and the improbabilities of miracles. The greatest of his attacks was on the Old Testament. Voltaire doubted the existence of Moses, said that the Pentateuch was absurd, and believed the Old Testament was just a collection of fables. On the other hand, he also attacked the New Testament. He called Jesus a good fellow, a coarse peasant, and a fanatic. 4 Many people read Voltaire s writings on religion and so there was much dispute and conflict among the church. His attacks on the Bible made people think and use reason in their lives. Voltaire believed in God and that an afterlife was the most powerful force of moral constraint within society, but as a philosophe he believed in the modern view of deism.5 Through the socialization of deism, social religion was ... • 37. Nonlinear And Nonlinear Model Linear Model in a spatially variant manner because mapping function processes for each individual pixel. Local operators characterized that more satisfactorily than global operators in terms of the detail preservation and compression ratio of the dynamic range. Also, there are two tone mapping model linear tone mapping model and nonlinear tone mapping model. Linear model does not need multiscale decomposition or segmentation of the images into binary or fractional maps, where the problems associated with layer decomposition are not found. Linear model not only interested in making the output images look natural by enhancing pixel intensity more significantly in highlights, but also satisfies high radiance similarity with the ground truth HDR images. The problem appears when using linear model that usually fails when luminance value of a local patch changes abruptly. Also, the dynamic range of the dark region will be compressed at the same rate as the bright pixels, which causes losing details in this patch. Nonlinear model synchronize with the nonlinear relationship between the physical magnitudes of effects and the perceived intensity of the effects. Nonlinear model function depends on instead of linearly compressing the contrast of a patch in an input HDR image, it adopt the local gamma correction strategy which can not only effectively compress the bright pixels but also enhance the dark ones in one hit even in challenging patches Compared with the locally linear model, nonlinear ...
