Difference Between Virtualization And Client Server...
Virtualization vs Client Server Architecture
1.Virtualization
The term virtualization is the separation of a resource or request for a service from the underlying
physical delivery of that service.
a.Virtualization Overview
Virtualization allows converting one physical server into multiple virtual machines (VM) where
each of the virtual machines (VM) will operate as a unique physical device. The VMs are capable
of running their own Operating System (OS) and working independently. This allows the
administrator to create enough virtual servers to use all of the physical machines processing power.
Figure 1 Before and After Virtualization (Ref: Virtualization Overview, VMWare)
To sum it up, Virtualization means to create a virtual version of a device or resource, such as a
server, storage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Virtualization Advantages and Drawbacks
Let us now check the advantages and disadvantages of Virtualization.
a.Advantages
i.Hardware Abstraction: The service vendors create clusters of hardware consisting of storage,
compute resources like CPU and Memory, networks etc., at a preferred location or at different
locations, and then use virtualization techniques to provide access to these clusters. The
customer can ask for the required capacity which can provided immediately. ii. Scalability:
Hardware can be added to the existing setup anytime. Ina client server setup, whenever hardware
was added, there was always downtime associated to it. This is a major benefit that virtualization
brings, because if the requirements is increasing at a rapid rate, then adding the required hardware
can actually keep up without downtime. iii. Consolidation of Workloads: In a client server setup,
most physical boxes are incredibly under used because of software limitations or usage capacity.
But with Virtualization, resource utilization can be increased by performing load balancing
algorithms as the workloads can be placed on a single piece of hardware reducing the number of

Temple University Personal Statement
When I was accepted to Temple University, I was not sure what I wanted to do because I was
painfully torn between business and tourism and hospitality management. Fortunately, I was able to
participate in a program where I could explore both study fields.
In the beginning, I was overwhelmed with the excitement and thrill of becoming a college student
on a journey to discover my ambition and aspiration. I had made many good friends at Temple,
and I had studied with a number of fantastic professors. Yet shortly after, I realized that it was not
enough for me. I want to be in an environment surrounded by people who would challenge me and
push me further to do great things outside of the typical college classes.
One of the things that have led

Walnut Venture Asociates Deal Terms
Harvard Business School 9 899 097 Rev. November 19, 1998 Walnut Venture Associates (D):
RBS Deal Terms It was Friday, June 5, 1998, and Bob O Connor was headed home for the
weekend. He knew it would be a busy one, for he had many decisions to make. He had been
trying to raise capital for his Company the RBS Group, a software firm for almost a year. He felt
like he was finally nearing the end of this process, but now more issues had arisen. First, his
prospective investors wanted to increase the amount of their investment. While he would be happy
to have the extra money, he felt that the valuation on RBS was already lower than he had hoped,
and he was reluctant to take more money at this price. Second, he had received a draft... Show more

From Great Inflation To Great Moderation
From Great Inflation to Great Moderation At the end of President Jimmy Carters administration
(1976 1980), the economic environment in the United States was heading toward the 8th
recession since World War II ( The Reagan Years ). Oil prices continued to rise from $4 a barrel
in 1973 to $37 a barrel (Sloan 31) creating an energy crisis, business investments slowed (Michael),
Congress repealed usury laws allowing credit card companies to increase interest rates up to 20
percent or higher, (Foner1048) and a move toward automation and outsourcing manufacturing
created loss of employment. By 1980 the rate of inflation was at 13.5% and unemployment rates
were at 7.1% (Foner 1045 [table 26.1]). The country had deteriorating public confidence... Show

On January 20, 1981 Ronald Reagan was inaugurated to the office of the presidency and with this
inauguration came a report from Arthur Laffer, Congressman Jack Kemp, and David Stockman
which declared a crisis situation due to government regulation and disastrous overtaxation
(Samuelson 60). The solution to this problem became what is now known as Kemp Laffer
Stockman supply side economics. This type of economics held that a greater supply of goods
and services, made possible by measures to increase business investment, was the swiftest road to
economic growth ( The Reagan Years ). To implement this plan a cut in tax rates for three years
had to be implemented. These tax cuts the administration argued would increase capital
investment and corporate earnings which would increase government revenues ( The Reagan
Years ). In 1981 Reagan succeeded in getting Congress to pass the Economic Recovery Tax Act
of 1981 (Sloan 7) initiating the beginning of what would be later dubbed Reaganomics. Later,
another act would be passed, the Tax Reform Act of 1986, which reduced tax rates for all groups
(Sloan 7). At the initial onset of Reaganomics there was a recession from 1981 1982. Conservatives
painted this recession as being the result of inherited problems from the Carter administration and
not as a failure of Reaganomics. Instead Conservatives point out that following the lowest point of

Good health means the yin and yang is in balance and in harmony with each other. According to
Jarvis (2012), foods are classified in this theory; yin foods are cold, and yang foods are hot; cold
foods are eaten with a hot illness and hot foods are eaten with a cold illness. Chinese people have
practiced acupuncture for thousands of years for the reduction of pain and for various disorders
using fine needles at specific meridian points on the body (Edelman Mandle, 2010). The Chinese
believe that when there is an imbalance in a person s system is when a person has illness. For
health maintenance, they use preventive measures such eating healthy. Chinese people enjoy
drinking a variety of tea after meals for the cleansing effect. Health protection means wearing an
amulet or jade, eat correctly and with compatible food (Jarvis, 2012). Chinese people use cupping,
acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbs such as ginseng roots, and usually will consult with
herbalists, for health restoration.
The second culture to be discussed is the Hispanic culture. When looking at the Hispanic culture,
family is the source of support. During time of crisis or illness, the family is there for the
individual, and older family members are consulted for important matters (Edelman Mandle, 2010).
Hispanics attribute disease and illness to many supernatural and psychological

The Death Of A Mint Oil
The queue grew thinner until Morgana reached the counter and purchased her mint oil.
Although she could feel the familiar warmth of magic reviving itself in her body, and had been
able to re light candles in her room last night by concentrating on them, her powers were nowhere
near their peak. Again: was it simply due to the injuries sustained in King Lothar s tomb? This
sabbatical couldn t stretch on forever. Still, she had to admit that over the last three weeks, Lydil
had grown on her. Despite the injuries, clean air, a proper bed and wholesome food had begun
their good work, if ever so slowly. Remembering to keep her head down, she passed both

She had often seen Princess Mithian, completely immersed in her own world, knowing that
manipulating her would be child s play. Out of all the plans she had hatched in order to secure
Camelot s Throne, this should have ranked as the most successful. Odin needed no persuasion to
invade Nemeth, particularly when she advised him of the gold, silver, jewellery and fine cloth to
be found in abundance indeed, he had almost wept for joy! Out of all Odin s failings, she
preferred his greed to his cowardice. Who had melded him into this trembling specimen of
subservience? Another one of Arthur s misty eyed speeches on peace, unity and working together
for the common good? Well, men had been bought for far less. Rare fine wines, judging from the
conversation she had just heard. Still... as much as she might scoff at Odin, Camelot gained much
from it. Other kingdoms still disputing land and titles with Camelot would be encouraged by it and
possibly reach further agreements. After all, Nemeth had still abided by the terms Arthur set
forward, even after he rejected Mithian s hand in marriage. Without money or access to an army,
what chance would there be in future to attack? No use fretting about the future when trying to
recover right now. One step at a time. Remaining in Lydil had been an excellent idea and once her
magic returned... Yes; everything would turn in her favour. In this

The Book Of Luke Essay
Luke According to Hindson and Towns, Luke was a gentile from Syrian Antioch and was a brother
of Titus. There is little documented information concerning the beginning of Luke s life, and the
exact date of his birth is unknown. The Bible does say that Luke was a well educated physician and
a companion to Paul who taught him the Gospelof JesusChrist. Luke spent a lot of time with Paul
and accompanied him on many of his trips to preach the Gospel. Luke authored the Biblical
books of Luke and Acts and was the only Gentile to write any Biblical books. In the book of
Luke, Luke tells the story of Jesus s life on earth and highlights Jesus s compassion and the role of
women in his ministry. Luke himself was not alive during the days that Jesus... Show more content

The main characters in Philippians include the author himself, Paul, Timothy, Epaphroditus,
Euodia, Syntyche, and most importantly Jesus Christ. Timothy was staying with Paul while he
was in prison and Paul had planned to send Timothy back to Philippi to the church to deliver his
letter to the people. Epaphroditus had also desired to return to Philippi but was sick and dying.
The Lord healed Epaphroditus so that he could travel to Philippi. Paul s main intent in writing his
letter was to express his thanks and appreciation to God for the Philippians and to provide them
with words of encouragement. Ten years prior to the letter, Paul was obeying a vision to preach the
gospel in Europe and established the church of Philippi (Acts 16). Paul s letter to the Philippians
affirmed that Christians have the opportunity to experience true joy if they adopt an attitude of
remembrance, prayer, selflessness, confidence, unity, humility, evangelism, servitude, gratitude,
commitment, joy and support (Hindson Towns, 2013). In the final chapter of Philippians, Paul

Book Review Of Rodman Philbrick s Freak The Mighty
Freak the Mighty Essay
In the novel, Freak the Mighty, author Rodman PhilBrick wrote about a boy(Max) who had a
learning disability, hated school, and was a social outcast to the rest of the world. Later in the
novel Max met Kevin, a boy who had a physical disability. The two boys instantly became friends
and as their friendship grew, they grew both mentally and physically. Both Kevin, who was
nicknamed Freak , and Max gained a good friend when they met each other. By gaining a good
friend, they changed people s lives. One way the author showed how a good friend can change
one s life is by showing how different Max acted after he became friends with Freak. Another way
Rodman Philbrick showed that in the novel, is by telling how Freak the Mighty, a nickname that
Freak came up with for him and Max, changed how other people looked and acted towards both
Max and Freak when they were together. This was shown a final time when Max and Freak the
Mighty changed Freaks life. If one has a good friend by his side, then together the two friends can
change lives.
One way the author showed how Freak the Mighty changed people s lives in more than one way
is by telling how different Max acted when he was around Freak. An example of this happened
when Max began to like reading and going to school. Max state s, And now that I ve written a book
who knows, I might even read a few. No big deal (Philbrick 183). This goes to show that after only
a year of being friends with Freak,

Rebecca, published in 1938, was Daphne du Maurier s most successful novel. In 1940, film
director Alfred Hitchcock won the Best Picture Oscar with his first Hollywood film, Rebecca,
based on the book Rebecca and starring Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine. The narrator of the
story, a naГЇve young woman, marries Maxim de Winter, an aristocrat several years older than
herself. They return to his large country home, Manderley, in Cornwall, to a life that his new
wife knows little about. Inexperienced, self conscious and lacking in confidence, the new Mrs de

Mrs Danvers is unusually kind to her and suggests that she wear a costume replica of one of the

and intimidated, Mrs de Winter begins to doubt her relationship with her husband; she thinks
that Maxim is still in love with the perfect Rebecca. Things, however, change dramatically when
the sunken boat is discovered. Rebecca s body is found in the boat at the bottom of the sea, and
this leads Maxim to confess the truth to his new wife. He and Rebecca hated each other.
Rebecca had series of love affairs, and then she claimed to be pregnant by another man and
threatened to burden Maxim with the responsibility of raising the child. Maxim killed her and
took the body out in the boat, which he sank at sea. Instead of being scared of the murderer, Mrs

The Roman Colosseum is one of the great wonders of ancient Rome. Built by Emperor Titus
Vespasian in AD 72 and finished in AD 80, the main parts of the colosseum still stand today. The

Gender Roles Are The Way People Act
Gender in Baby Daddy TV show, Essay
Gender roles are the way people act, what they do and say, to express being a girl or a boy, a
woman or a man. These characteristics are shaped by society, (Gender Roles) These roles constitute
the standards of the society and they are transmitted from one generation to another by education.
Children learn these standards since their birth. Parents teach them how to act, to say and to behave
according to their sex. Also, children learn the gender roles from other sources like school,
neighborhood and television. Actually, television is playing a significant role in the education of
people. From different programs presented on television, children acquire many knowledge
about how to live, to speak and to behave according to the roles attribute to men and women. In
the USA, Baby Daddy television show is one of the program which teaches people about the
gender roles. Baby Daddy show spreads the gender roles by three different ways, first by the way
the personal characters of men and women are described, secondly, by the attitude of men and
women toward the Domestic behaviors, finally, by the way professional occupation of men and
women are presented.

Watching The Republican Gop Debates
Watching the Republican GOP debates was very interesting, seeing how they are unique
candidates. I chose to watch the Republican debates because I am not familiar with the candidates
as well as I should be. The March 3rd and the March 10th debates enlightened me to their leadership
styles, their plan and their character in general. Let s get the most prominent and most talked about
candidate out of the way, Donald Trump. I should first say that I am not a fan by any means. With
this being said, I tried to watch the debates with an open mind and tried to look solely at his
leadership style. I found Trump to be very defensive, childish, inappropriate, and all over the
place. During the debates he loved to talk about how great he is; mentioning four times about his
endorsements, about his great friends, and his wealth. Needless to say, he was not able to sway
me. I will admit, Trump has extreme confidence. This is a great quality. However, he might just
be too confident. It comes off as arrogant. Confidence is great to a certain degree, but it can also
get you in trouble. He feels he is the best and everyone would listen to him because he is Donald
Trump . He is so egotistical. There was one questionasked about how Trump would order the
military to target families of suspected terrorist after the military testifying the expansive use of
torture is inexcusable and will refuse orders because they are illegal. His response: They won t
refuse; they won t refuse, believe me .

Competitive Market Demand
CESARANO FRANCESCO
ESSAY N.3
SUPPLY AND DEMAND WITH THE FOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKET
The concept of competitive market can be explained by saying that there is a large number of
firms competing each other with a large number of buyers, selling an identical product. There is
also perfectly freedom to entry and to leave the industry.
One of the consequence of this type of market is that the firms are price taker, which means that if
they try to raise the price by one unit for example, the consumers will buy somewhere else and
therefore they will leave, due to the competition from the other firms. This lead to a perfectly
elastic demand curve for any given product.
The last presumption is that the producer and consumers are aware of the ... Show more content on

Due to the high volume of participants, either a central bank or a single individual cannot interfere
with the current price against market speculation and therefore they are price taker .
There are many theories developed by economist trying to explain how exchange rate move, but
none of them has so far proved to be very accurate with the future exchange rate moves predicted.
On one side there are the technical analysts which believe that all the economic studies such as
inflation, interest rate, etc. are already known by the market and are reflected in the current price.
The chartists as they are also known, study charts that represents price movement over a period and
claim that future repetition of certain patterns can be predicted. Although Economist don t approve
Technical analyst approach, in the last two decades it had great influence on the forex market.
On the other side there is the theory of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) which states that the rate will
adjust to the point where international purchasing power is equal.
In other word that mean that the price of any good would be the same in every country, a simple
example would be like The Economist states in its Big Mac index.
This means that one of the most important factor for exchange rates movement is the different

Atticus s Honesty
In this journal, I will be evaluating the theme of walking in someone s shoes. An example of the
theme walking in someone s shoes is with Tom Robinson and Atticus Finch. To start, Atticus is
able to walk in Tom s shoes because they are both honest. One example of honesty would be when
Atticus told his kids he could not win this court trial because of racism, but he would still try.
Atticus being able to be honest with his kids is important because it shows that he is an honest
person. An example of Tom Robinson being honest could be when he was defending himself at the
court trial. Tom did not lie at his court trial; that has great importance because it shows that he is an
honest person. Atticus and Tom both being honest allows them both to... Show more content on

An example of Atticus being selfless is when he decided to help Tom Robinson. Atticus knew
that he would be separating himself socially and mentally, but he still decided to help Tom
because he is a selfless person. Tom is also selfless for many reasons; one reason is that he chose
to help Mayella Ewell. Tom Robinson knew that there were many consequences for a black man
just being around a white woman, but he decided to help her anyways with no pay because he is
selfless. Tom does not care if he gets in trouble or not; he helps her because he knows it is the
right thing to do. With Atticus and Tom both being selfless, their actions can allow each other to
walk in each other s shoes. Similar to Tom and Atticus walking in each other s shoes; Calpurnia
and Walter Cunningham are also accurate examples of the theme walking in someone s shoes .
To illustrate my point, Calpurnia and Walter are both different because of their family s
incomes. Both Calpurnia and the Cunningham family have a lower income compared to most
others in the city of Maycomb. An example of Walter s family having less money could be when
the father has to pay back the Finch family in lumber because they do not have the money to pay
them. The father paying in lumber displays that the Cunningham family has less money; that
could separate Walter emotionally from the rest of his classmates. Walter could feel like he is
not as good as his classmates because of his family s lower income. He could also be separated
socially from his classmates, if his classmates left him out from their games because nobody
would want to play with the poor kid. Similarly, Calpurnia is a maid for the Finch family, so she
makes less money than the average family in Maycomb. Calpurnia is making less money because
she is a maid, and that allows her to walk in Walter s shoes because both of their families make
less money than average. Next, Calpurnia and Walter are able to walk in

The s Model Of Culture Care Theory
Healthcare in the United States of America is an ever increasing field of diversity. Many
healthcare workers are uneducated in diversity, resulting in insufficient patient care. As a result
patients from different backgrounds do not receive proper treatment, and refuse to seek medical
attention, or are over charged for simple procedures. Educating healthcare workers is the key to
decreasing unnecessary physician visits as well as providing patients with the sense of
understanding and respect regarding their health decisions. The preceding information will
provide a brief overview of Leinigner s Model of Culture Care Theory, Leinigner s theory
applied to the Colombian Culture for medical professionals, feelings about access to health care,
barriers in healthcare, alternative medicine and food preferences. The Leininger s Culture Care
Theory focuses on culturally congruent care for diverse clients based on healthcare workers
becoming cultural competent. Leininger s model can be applied to any healthcare practice as a
clinical assessment tool (Leininger, 2002). A practicing nursing professional should focus on
providing culturally adapted care, functions, and acknowledge any social norms for the client.
The client s health should also be adapted based on what is culturally defined as a positive or
negative state of well being (Creasia Friberg, 2011). If a nurse incorporates Leiniger s theory, then

goes with this decision. Not only only do they have to pay close attention to their vehicle s exterior

As the owner of the vehicle, you will most likely know your car or truck fairly well and can tell

what is wrong, it is something that could have been avoided. This is actually a common

A Deep Space Hassam Analysis
As for the use of space, Hassam creates the illusion that there is three dimensional space in this
work. By making the buildings, trees, and people all appear to grow smaller in the background
creates the illusion of a deep space, which in turn allows the painting to feel more realistic. The
artist makes all of the objects that are closer up (or larger), to remain the focus because the
farther away the other objects appear, the more they become blurred and indecipherable . Often
times, this is how our eyes perceive things in reality as well, so this illusion successfully gives the
work a more natural, three dimensional feel. Another element used in this work that really stands
out to the viewer would most likely be color. The use of color

drinks had to be done during a specific time of day for four days a week for three weeks of their
last trimester, and the first two months after giving birth. The participants could not drink carrot
juice other than from the experiment, or eat carrots. This was reinforced by keeping a log of what
they ate and drank during the period of the study. The participants in the groups were roughly
around the same age. The sex ratio and body mass index of the infants were not too different. The
major difference was the body mass index of the male infants was higher than that of female infants

The Role Of Destruction In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
To be able to cause destruction is one similarity that all entities in nature can relate to. But to be
able to wreak havoc and reflect back on one s actions thereafter is an action that may be the only
trait humans have that distinguishes them from the rest of the animals of the world. Why are
humans so dominant and powerful on Earth? Is it because they have the ability accept their vices
and grow as a whole? In PensГ©es, Blaise Pascal, the famous child prodigy from France,
connected to this idea when he wrote Man s greatness comes from knowing he is wretched: a tree
does not know it is wretched. Thus it is wretched to know that one is wretched, but there is
greatness in knowing one is wretched . Pascal s declaration that humans are unique... Show more

Unbeknownst to him at first, the monster is an ugly and intimidating creature that does not appear

Genghis Khan Impact
Life and Impact of Genghis Khan Genghis Khan (1162 1227) was a Mongol leader who rose from
a humble background to become the emperor of the largest continuous empire in history. He
conquered large regions of Central Asia and China after uniting the nomadic tribes of the
Mongolian Plateau. After his death, his descendants expanded the empire s boundaries even further,
until it stretched to places such as Poland, Syria, Vietnam, and Korea. At the height of their power,
the Mongols ruled over 11 to 12 million contiguous square miles, which is an area approximately
the size of Africa. Throughout this conquest many people were slaughtered by the Mongolian

When the first Mongolian caravans arrived, however, they were ambushed. All of their goods
were stolen and their merchants were killed. Even though their army was outnumbered, the
Mongols rapidly conquered one city after another. Some notable cities involved in this conflict
include Bukhara, Samarkand, and Urgench. Soldiers who resisted and aristocrats were usually
killed, while skilled workers and artisans were often saved. Common citizens were captured and
used as human shields for the next attack. The number of deaths during Chinggis Khan s wars is
unknown, most likely because the Mongols enhanced their terrifying image as a way of
spreading fear throughout the world. By the time Chinggis returned to his home in Mongolia in
1225, he ruled over a vast territory ranging from the Sea of Japan to the Caspian Sea. He did not
rest for long, however, before he turned his attention to the remaining Xi Xia kingdom. The Xi
Xia had refused to send troops to Khwarezm with Khan s army. Early on in 1227 Chinggis was

The Complexity Of Friends In The Tv Show
The tv show Friends is the most funniest and meaningful sitcom of all time. It is about six friends,
three men and three women, who live in the same apartment complex in New York and face life
together as a family. This wonderful sitcom displays the real meaning of friendship and loyalty.
They live their most crazy, funny, and sad moments together. They help guide and support each
other through their tough times. Even though, many people, including myself, may consider the
sitcom Friendsas the funniest show ever, many other people disagree; some people think it is
boring, not funny, and very predictable. Each of the characters in the sitcom have a funny
personality of their own. One of the characters is Monica Geller played by Courteney Cox.... Show

One of the odd traits about Chandler is that he hates Thanksgiving. When he was nine years old,
his parents announced that they were getting a divorce while eating Thanksgiving dinner and
also his father was having an affair with the houseboy. As a result, he refuses to celebrate
Thanksgiving traditionally and eat Thanksgiving dinner. Another character is Phoebe Buffay.
She is played by Lisa Kudrow. Her personality is very outgoing, impulsive, spontaneous, and
friendly. She also has an unbelievable imagination; she created a doll house out of shoe boxes
with a slide, an aroma room, licorice room, and a bubble machine. Also, she has a weird side
which she really shows with her songs. One of her famous songs is called smelly cat.
Furthermore, Rachel Green is another character in this great sitcom. She is played by Jennifer
Aniston. Rachel is caring, loyal, and dependable. One of the most enjoyable episodes with
Rachel is when she sings with Ross, her baby s father, Baby Got Back to her baby daughter to
make her laugh. Finally, Ross Geller is one of the characters that I most enjoyed in the sitcom. He
is introverted, caring, shy, and trustworthy. In one episode, he wanted to show his friends that he
knew how to flirt so he was going to flirt with the pizza delivery girl. Instead Ross ended up talking
about different smells of gas with her. All of the characters have different personalities, but that

Foreign Direct Investment And Developing Countries
Foreign direct investment plays a critical role in financing the development of emerging economies.
Foreign direct investment benefits countries through a transfer of resources in the form of capital,
technology, management of resources, creation of work opportunities, and a positive impact on the
country s balance sheet, typically through an increase in export volumes. These benefits are
essential for sustainable growth and developmentof a country, especially for developing countries.
Despite the important role that foreign direct investmentplays in helping to achieve the Sustainable
Development Goals, many developing countries face challenges in accessing this source.
Many countries that do have access to foreign direct investment are only given access in specific
areas of business or of the country. Other countries, often those that needs it most, are overlooked
by investors, missing out on this source of finance entirely. In Indonesia, eighty percent of foreign
direct investment are confined to Java where the country s capital is. Geographically focused
approach of foreign direct investment prevents investors from capturing the full opportunity offered
by developing countries. Resources need to be allocated to match the shifting distribution of each
country s growth. Understanding the priorities of central and local governments as well as
determining how or where these align with business priorities is a tremendous challenge.

Grief Theory
1. Arnold and Boggs (2016) defined grief as a holistic, adaptive process that a person goes through
following a significant loss. Grief varies from person to person. Grief is most likely associated with
a death of a loved one, but can also be associated with any loss. Certain events and holidays can
cause the griefto resurface. Grief is more than sadness and is described as an unexpected punch
in the gut (Arnold and Boggs, 2016). The patterns of grief are: acute grief, anticipatory grief,
chronic sorrow, and complicated grieving. Acute grief occurs as somatic distress and lasts a short
time. Anticipatory grief is the response before a person dies and a person thinking about their
death can cause it too. Chronic sorrow is as a normal grief response associated with ongoing
living loss that is permanent, progressive, recurring, and cyclic in nature (Arnold and Boggs,
2016). Complicated grieving is longer and an intense expression of grief.
The five stage model of death and dying of Elisabeth KГјbler Ross is a theoretical framework
related to the grieving process. The five stages are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and
acceptance. Denial can be either temporary or last throughout one s illness. Denial is when a
person refuses to believe that they have an illness, No, not me. Anger produces feelings of
unfairness and they become angry at God and projects anger on to close loved ones. Bargaining is
when the person requests extra time. In the depression stage,

Unemployment and Its Effect on the Economy and Society
Unemployment is an ongoing problem throughout the world. One may asked, what is
unemployment? It is the number of persons who are willing and able to work but are unable to find
jobs. Unemployment is harmful to a country because it imposes costs on a Society. The cost of
employment to a nation can be categorised under three heading, namely В·The Social Cost В·The
Cost to the Exchequer В·The Economic Cost The Social Cost of Unemployment The social cost of
involuntary unemployment is incalculable. For an individual, the demoralising effect that it can
have clearly depends upon whether the period of unemployment is short term or long term. Short
term unemployment may have no serious effect on an individual whilst long term unemployment

This means that society has experienced a lower standard of living than would have been possible
without rising level of unemployment. The loss of potential output resulting from involuntary
unemployment is clearly a serious matter for an economy. Resources which are willing and able
to work in order to raise the rate of output and to boost living standards are failing to be employed.
This is a true waste of resources. It is not so clear, however, whether the loss of potential output
through voluntary unemployment is so serious. It may simple mean that be that more people are
taking advantage of higher social security benefits to spend more time searching for suitable jobs.
There are numerous causes to the problem of unemployment which may vary from country to
country. Amongst them are Natural unemployment The level of natural unemployment can be
defined as the number of persons who are employed even when the labour market is in long run
equilibrium that is when the total demand for labour is equal to the supply of labour at the
prevailing level of real wage rates. In this situation, people may be unemployed because: В·they are
between jobs and are taking time to search for the most appropriate job with the highest
wage(search unemployment) В·the industry in which they have traditionally worked have
experienced a structural decline or has been influenced by technological advances (structural
unemployment) В·there has been a seasonal

Cassius as Tragic Hero in Julius Caesar Essay
Cassius as Tragic Hero in Julius Caesar
William Shakespeare wrote Julius Caesar around 1599. The role of the `tragic hero is extremely
important as many of the characters in Julius Caesar exemplify the `tragic hero qualities. Marcus
Brutus, and Julius Caesar, display all the qualities of the `tragic hero : they are great men, with
character flaws, and as a result of a mistake in decision making many people suffer. In Cassius one
can see these same qualities. Cassius can be seen as another tragic hero in Shakespeare s Julius
Caesar.
Cassius is a talented general, and does not like the fact that Caesar has become `god like in the
Roman people s minds (see above quote Act I, Scene ii). Cassius can be seen as a ... Show more

However, this ultimate answer goes horribly wrong, for it strays from the ideal vision he held: in
the end war erupts and the people end up being no better off than they were under Caesar s rule,
one could even say worse off. Looking at what diverged Cassius ideal vision of Rome we see
Marcus Brutus.
The qualities a tragic hero, in Shakespeare s plays, normally displays consists of the hero falling
from a place of glory, or rank, or happiness. We are astounded by the extent to which they fall, or
allow themselves to stoop. The resulting catastrophe from the hero s mistake is of monumental
proportions. With the discussed play Julius Caesar, Cassius exhibits Jealousy, Rashness, and
Impulsive behaviour. Cassius makes mistakes, each with a disastrous effect.
The play Julius Caesar may be considered a failure as a tragedy: although many characters display
tragic hero properties, the play does not.

Analysis Of Gulliver s Travels
Even in today s society, jokes about the repercussions of educating women find their way into the
popular culture, though they are generally very tongue in cheek. For example, in Pitch Perfect 2, a
recent film, a comedic relief, narrating character says of the girls acapella performance, This is
what happens when you send girls to college (Pitch Perfect 2). The character implies that when girls
are given educationand freedom, they will default to partaking in foolish behavior. This was a
common idea in the eighteenth century as people legitimately denied women schooling based on
such a concept. In the last paragraph on page 55 of Gulliver s Travels (1726), Swift comments on
the education and roles of women in Lilliputian society using specific word choice and
juxtaposition of male and female schooling. With this, he asserts that, while the Lilliputians
regarded women with similar gender based expectations as the English, they did offer women some
form of equality through the basis of education. This, of course, contrasts the treatment of women in
European society which feared that female education would empower women to leave behind their
traditional roles. Through his addressal of the fact that women can be educated and still succeed as
mothers and wives, Swift presents that society could benefit from teaching girls basic information
while still keeping them in their customary places.
For instance, he comments that Chambermaids practiced common Follies (Swift 55).

The Theme Of Plot In Sweat By Zora Hurston
In her short story Sweat , Zora Hurston uses plot to expose the theme that what goes around comes
around. Plot is an author s careful arrangement of incidents in a narrative in order to achieve a
desired effect. In Hurston s case, the desired effect is shaping the theme of the story. Throughout
Sweat , all of the events are carefully thought out in order to show the reader that Sykes got what he
deserved, therefore creating the theme what goes around comes around. The main highlighted
events in this plotare the verbal conflict that Delia and Sykes have, the town scene where Sykes is
being discussed by local townspeople, Sykes bringing home a rattlesnake, and Sykes getting bit by
the snake.
The first major incident in the plot of Sweat is a verbal conflict between Delia and Sykes in the
beginning. It starts with Delia being scared with a bullwhip by Sykes. She reacts in fear, saying,
Sykes, what you throw dat whip on me like dat? You know it would skeer me... (Hurston). Delia
and Sykes go back and forth about how scared Delia is scared of snakes, and how Sykes
purposely wants to scare her. Delia, however, stays calm until she seizes a skillet and strikes a
defensive pose. Sykes is shocked, so he just leaves the house, slamming the gate after him
(Hurston). At this point in the story, the reader gets a good idea of the relationship between
Delia and Sykes. The reader knows Delia and Sykes are opposites, Sykes badness outlines the good,
hardworking side of Delia. This first scene serves as rising action to get to know the life of Delia
and Sykes. The theme is not yet clear, because the plot is only beginning. However, Delia
foreshadows Sykes fate at the end of this part of Hurston s story. Delia thinks out loud before
sleep when she says, Oh well, whatever goes over the Devil s back, is got to come under his belly.
Sometime or ruther, Sykes, like everybody else, is gointer reap his sowing (Hurston).
The next scene of this story is the conversation the townspeople have. When they see Delia, they
spark a conversation about how badly Sykes treats Delia (Hurston). A few of the townspeople
comment angrily, He useter be so skeered uh lookin huh...We oughter take Syke an dat stray oman

The City Of Pompeii And Pompeii
In ancient Pompeii, there were many important establishments in the Forum. It was seen as the
primal hub of the town, and due to the busy trading nature, a commercial centre for exchanging
foreign goods was a necessity. However in Herculaneum, being a quiet fishing village, the
structure of the Forum would have been very different to that of Pompeii. Most of the Italian
municipalities in their time had a Forum, a square in their town where the political, commercial,
and social lives are all intertwined. Not only did it act as a social meeting place for the residents,
but it also functioned as the primary religious and economic sector of the city. In Pompeii the
Forum was a large area measuring at around 157 by 38 metres, not including all the surrounding
buildings (Unfortunately in Herculaneum, the forum is still uncovered). The Forum was lined
with the most important buildings in the city. (See figure 1) In Pompeii particularly, the forum
held the Municipal offices (A), Basilica (B), Temple of Apollo (C), Forum Olitorium (vegetable
market) (C), Latrines (public toilets) (D), Temple of Jupiter (E), Macellum (marketplace) (F),
Temple of the Lares (G), Temple of Vespasian (I), Building of Eumanchia (J), and a Comitium
(voting house) (K). On the western side of the forum, there is a pedestal, built for outspoken
orators. This served as a location where people could express their views on current situations,
usually political. A typical day in the Pompeian forum consisted of

novel. We read that Janie is hardly effected by this so we begin to question why. Her character
finally had developed a voice and she shows it by accepting the beating, saying that she is strong
enough to handle him and will only speak when she chooses to. In previous chapters we

chapter in which Tea Cake, Janie, and Motor Boat wait out the storm is the most direct example of
this conflict. Here we see humans against god, Janie and her friends against nature. The

Therefore, researchers at MIT trusts the making of caring machines . For this reason, Turkle
indicates roboticists are not by any means the only individuals with this thought, there has been
chatter from others that is not in the robotic world (2015). Therefore, humans trust the idea of
having robots taking care of the elderly rather than people. The reasons is that humans are thought

grown ups have turned out to be so contributed with technology, believing a robot can talk and care

the ability of a human being. Furthermore, this creates the lack of living life and facing reality. As a

Banana Yoshimoto comparative essay
Garber 1 Dylan Garber Ms. Ursula Misztal The Contemporary Short Story May 6th, 2013 How
Banana Yoshimoto Brings The Unconscious to Life in Newlywed and Helix Banana Yoshimoto
effectively portrays various common themes and motifs in both Helix and Newlywed , in revealing
the subconscious state of mind of the respective protagonists. Although the storylines are quite
different, we get the feeling that many themes and strategies such as isolation, incredible poetic
effect, and the recurring use of a helper figure used to develop the characters, are relatively
interchangeable. These literary patterns allow for the protagonists to both escape the shallowness
that plagues them, and bring to light the deeper meaning behind their... Show more content on

This dramatization brings the reader to the realization that the protagonist s stream of
consciousness narration is very unpredictable, yet will ultimately lead to his ability to expose his
true feelings as the story develops. The author clearly likes to represent this feeling of indecision
with poetic illustration as it is used several times in both stories. In Newlywed , the narrator
vividly describes his mixed feelings toward his wife, Atsuko, during the peak of his epiphany
like experience: For me, the beautiful, all encompassing web spun by this creature is at once so
polluted, yet so pure that I feel compelled to grab on to it. I am terrified by it but find myself
unable to hide from it. At some point I have been caught up in the magical power she has.
(Newlywed, 16) Banana doesn t strictly limit her poetic language to the story s character
development; she also uses it to depict specific moods in order to contextualize certain situations
that shake up the intensity of the story itself. Coincidentally, in both Helix and Newlywed , the
feeling of isolation is commonly portrayed throughout both stories with the unique use of grandiose
language. This allows the protagonists to avoid any outside

Descriptive Essay On Hippies
Hippies
When I think about the mountains my mind automatically goes to hippies. So I thought visiting
Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg was fitting for this essay. During my time in Tennessee, I attended a
car show and I saw many Hippie vans and old style classic Volkswagen beetles. We walked the
strip in Gatlinburg and I came in close contact with many people who I thought were pretty close to
Hippies. The strip had tons of restaurants on each side and stores were filled with so many
different people. But mostly everyone was in touch with their hippie side or nature side. Many
men had long untamed beards while the women had super long hair and they all seemed to dress
free . There was a moonshine tasting store and right in front of it had a stage and three guys (very
in touch with the natural look) with long beards and they were playing banjos and guitars.
They were very much in touch with their hippie side . There was one certain store that stood out
to me because it had so many crazy colors and peace signs everywhere. It also had 420 written
everywhere and Bob Marley blankets displayed along with hoodies which I m sure you
understand what they were referring to. At the car show, I also observed the people around the
cars. Many men like I had seen before in Gatlinburg sported the long straggly beards. Pigeon
Forge had a lot of RV campgrounds and tons of gorgeous cabins you can rent out and stay in.
Much like I said in my outline, Hippies love to hang out in social events and I m sure there were
many more hippie like groups/people in TennesseeI just didn t get the chance to see them. I
noticed there was a lot of older women at the car show dressed what you would put in the same
category of a hippie. I also associate drinking (not much like the alcohol we have today) with
hippies. Almost every of age person was drinking or already drunk. Since marijuana is illegal in
Tennessee so I didn t see anyone out in public smoking marijuana. Hippies are known as the free
spirited group and they love to congregate together to create peace instead of violence. During my
time in Tennessee I heard a lot of music, it overpowered everything. Guitars and banjos being
played, to just a song

As Cabeza de Vaca continues, his encounters seemingly becomes harsher and he starts to relate
these outcomes to God. Cabeza de Vaca also relates the losses to not only the surprising attack of
the Indians and their camouflage within the surroundings but also to weaponry they used and
the way they used them, The bows they use are as thick as the arm, of eleven or twelve palms in

Common Stereotypes In Native American Film
In the film The Searchers, Ethan Edwards returned from the civil war hoping that he would find
his home, family and the woman he secretly admired. However, the Comanche Massacre
shattered his hopes. This made him swear to himself that he would pursue all his relatives and
bring them home. Together with his Indian nephew Martin, he embarked on a long journey in
search for his niece, who had been kidnapped by the Indians. In the process of the search, Martin
correctly suspects his uncle of intending to kill his niece, as she had been defiled by being
assimilated by the Indians (Owens). Just like in many others films, it did not take long to know that
Indians inhabited a troubled and troubling space in John Wayne s movies (Owens). Fortunately, due
to Martin s intervention Ethan spares his niece s life. It was Ford s classic movie, The Searchers
that fully illustrated John Wayne s violently ambiguous relationship with the native inhabitants of
America, the Indians. Wayne is portrayed as a bitter Indian hater (Owens). On the other hand, the

Love And Love In The Book Of Love Possessed By Gabriel...
In the book Of Love and Other Demons written by Gabriel Marquez, Main Character Sierva
Maria is a young child whose existence had been neglected from birth by her father, The second
Marquis of Casalduero, and her mother, a once powerful Merchant. She lives her life, peacefully,
among the slaves in their quarters until she is one day bitten by a rabid dog. Once the news had
spread of the bite, the question of not only life and death, but demonic possessionand lovecome into
play. The article, By Love Possessed written by A.S Byatt, closely analyzes the life Sierva suffered
after the bite and if the demons in the title of the work are really the ones the Church believes is
possessing her. Love is subliminally introduced throughout the piece and the only demonnamed in
the title. Knowing that love is the worst demon of all, the other demons mentioned in the work
never resided in Sierva, but in the sins of man. When Sierva was bitten, the only people who
knew about it were the slaves. After a few rituals, the bite slowly began to heal and she showed
no signs of contracting the deadly disease of rabies. Once her father, the Marquis, made the
discovery of what had occurred, he made Sierva live within the house instead of the slave quarters.
Not suited to the environment, Sierva never spoke and rarely showed any form of emotion. The
Marquis did everything he could to figure out how to save her, not only from possibly contracting
rabies, but from what was making her act

  • 2. Difference Between Virtualization And Client Server... Virtualization vs Client Server Architecture 1.Virtualization The term virtualization is the separation of a resource or request for a service from the underlying physical delivery of that service. a.Virtualization Overview Virtualization allows converting one physical server into multiple virtual machines (VM) where each of the virtual machines (VM) will operate as a unique physical device. The VMs are capable of running their own Operating System (OS) and working independently. This allows the administrator to create enough virtual servers to use all of the physical machines processing power. Figure 1 Before and After Virtualization (Ref: Virtualization Overview, VMWare) To sum it up, Virtualization means to create a virtual version of a device or resource, such as a server, storage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Virtualization Advantages and Drawbacks Let us now check the advantages and disadvantages of Virtualization. a.Advantages i.Hardware Abstraction: The service vendors create clusters of hardware consisting of storage, compute resources like CPU and Memory, networks etc., at a preferred location or at different locations, and then use virtualization techniques to provide access to these clusters. The customer can ask for the required capacity which can provided immediately. ii. Scalability: Hardware can be added to the existing setup anytime. Ina client server setup, whenever hardware was added, there was always downtime associated to it. This is a major benefit that virtualization brings, because if the requirements is increasing at a rapid rate, then adding the required hardware can actually keep up without downtime. iii. Consolidation of Workloads: In a client server setup, most physical boxes are incredibly under used because of software limitations or usage capacity. But with Virtualization, resource utilization can be increased by performing load balancing algorithms as the workloads can be placed on a single piece of hardware reducing the number of physical ... Temple University Personal Statement When I was accepted to Temple University, I was not sure what I wanted to do because I was painfully torn between business and tourism and hospitality management. Fortunately, I was able to participate in a program where I could explore both study fields. In the beginning, I was overwhelmed with the excitement and thrill of becoming a college student on a journey to discover my ambition and aspiration. I had made many good friends at Temple, and I had studied with a number of fantastic professors. Yet shortly after, I realized that it was not enough for me. I want to be in an environment surrounded by people who would challenge me and push me further to do great things outside of the typical college classes. One of the things that have led ... November 19, 1998 Walnut Venture Associates (D): RBS Deal Terms It was Friday, June 5, 1998, and Bob O Connor was headed home for the weekend. He knew it would be a busy one, for he had many decisions to make. He had been trying to raise capital for his Company the RBS Group, a software firm for almost a year. He felt like he was finally nearing the end of this process, but now more issues had arisen. First, his prospective investors wanted to increase the amount of their investment. While he would be happy to have the extra money, he felt that the valuation on RBS was already lower than he had hoped, and he was reluctant to take more money at this price. Second, he had received a draft... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We held ourselves up as value added investors and this was our opportunity to show that we meant it. Wagner and other Walnuters contacted several New England area VC firms who they believed might have an appetite for an investment in RBS. Based on the appeal of RBS s business and the Walnut recommendation, 3 or 4 firms initiated serious due diligence efforts. But, these efforts came to naught. • 6. From Great Inflation To Great Moderation From Great Inflation to Great Moderation At the end of President Jimmy Carters administration (1976 1980), the economic environment in the United States was heading toward the 8th recession since World War II ( The Reagan Years ). Oil prices continued to rise from $4 a barrel in 1973 to $37 a barrel (Sloan 31) creating an energy crisis, business investments slowed (Michael), Congress repealed usury laws allowing credit card companies to increase interest rates up to 20 percent or higher, (Foner1048) and a move toward automation and outsourcing manufacturing created loss of employment. By 1980 the rate of inflation was at 13.5% and unemployment rates were at 7.1% (Foner 1045 [table 26.1]). The country had deteriorating public confidence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On January 20, 1981 Ronald Reagan was inaugurated to the office of the presidency and with this inauguration came a report from Arthur Laffer, Congressman Jack Kemp, and David Stockman which declared a crisis situation due to government regulation and disastrous overtaxation (Samuelson 60). The solution to this problem became what is now known as Kemp Laffer Stockman supply side economics. This type of economics held that a greater supply of goods and services, made possible by measures to increase business investment, was the swiftest road to economic growth ( The Reagan Years ). To implement this plan a cut in tax rates for three years had to be implemented. These tax cuts the administration argued would increase capital investment and corporate earnings which would increase government revenues ( The Reagan Years ). In 1981 Reagan succeeded in getting Congress to pass the Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981 (Sloan 7) initiating the beginning of what would be later dubbed Reaganomics. Later, another act would be passed, the Tax Reform Act of 1986, which reduced tax rates for all groups (Sloan 7). At the initial onset of Reaganomics there was a recession from 1981 1982. Conservatives painted this recession as being the result of inherited problems from the Carter administration and not as a failure of Reaganomics. Odin needed no persuasion to invade Nemeth, particularly when she advised him of the gold, silver, jewellery and fine cloth to be found in abundance indeed, he had almost wept for joy! Out of all Odin s failings, she preferred his greed to his cowardice. Who had melded him into this trembling specimen of subservience? Another one of Arthur s misty eyed speeches on peace, unity and working together for the common good? Well, men had been bought for far less. Rare fine wines, judging from the conversation she had just heard. Still... as much as she might scoff at Odin, Camelot gained much from it. Other kingdoms still disputing land and titles with Camelot would be encouraged by it and possibly reach further agreements. After all, Nemeth had still abided by the terms Arthur set forward, even after he rejected Mithian s hand in marriage. Without money or access to an army, what chance would there be in future to attack? No use fretting about the future when trying to recover right now. One step at a time. Epaphroditus had also desired to return to Philippi but was sick and dying. The Lord healed Epaphroditus so that he could travel to Philippi. Paul s main intent in writing his letter was to express his thanks and appreciation to God for the Philippians and to provide them with words of encouragement. Ten years prior to the letter, Paul was obeying a vision to preach the gospel in Europe and established the church of Philippi (Acts 16). Paul s letter to the Philippians affirmed that Christians have the opportunity to experience true joy if they adopt an attitude of remembrance, prayer, selflessness, confidence, unity, humility, evangelism, servitude, gratitude, commitment, joy and support (Hindson Towns, 2013). • 10. Book Review Of Rodman Philbrick s Freak The Mighty Freak the Mighty Essay In the novel, Freak the Mighty, author Rodman PhilBrick wrote about a boy(Max) who had a learning disability, hated school, and was a social outcast to the rest of the world. Later in the novel Max met Kevin, a boy who had a physical disability. The two boys instantly became friends and as their friendship grew, they grew both mentally and physically. Both Kevin, who was nicknamed Freak , and Max gained a good friend when they met each other. By gaining a good friend, they changed people s lives. One way the author showed how a good friend can change one s life is by showing how different Max acted after he became friends with Freak. Another way Rodman Philbrick showed that in the novel, is by telling how Freak the Mighty, a nickname that Freak came up with for him and Max, changed how other people looked and acted towards both Max and Freak when they were together. This was shown a final time when Max and Freak the Mighty changed Freaks life. If one has a good friend by his side, then together the two friends can change lives. One way the author showed how Freak the Mighty changed people s lives in more than one way is by telling how different Max acted when he was around Freak. An example of this happened when Max began to like reading and going to school. Max state s, And now that I ve written a book who knows, I might even read a few. No big deal (Philbrick 183). I chose to watch the Republican debates because I am not familiar with the candidates as well as I should be. The March 3rd and the March 10th debates enlightened me to their leadership styles, their plan and their character in general. Let s get the most prominent and most talked about candidate out of the way, Donald Trump. I should first say that I am not a fan by any means. With this being said, I tried to watch the debates with an open mind and tried to look solely at his leadership style. I found Trump to be very defensive, childish, inappropriate, and all over the place. During the debates he loved to talk about how great he is; mentioning four times about his endorsements, about his great friends, and his wealth. Needless to say, he was not able to sway me. I will admit, Trump has extreme confidence. This is a great quality. However, he might just be too confident. It comes off as arrogant. Confidence is great to a certain degree, but it can also get you in trouble. He feels he is the best and everyone would listen to him because he is Donald Trump . He is so egotistical. Competitive Market Demand CESARANO FRANCESCO ESSAY N.3 SUPPLY AND DEMAND WITH THE FOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKET The concept of competitive market can be explained by saying that there is a large number of firms competing each other with a large number of buyers, selling an identical product. There is also perfectly freedom to entry and to leave the industry. One of the consequence of this type of market is that the firms are price taker, which means that if they try to raise the price by one unit for example, the consumers will buy somewhere else and therefore they will leave, due to the competition from the other firms. This lead to a perfectly elastic demand curve for any given product. The last presumption is that the producer and consumers are aware of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On one side there are the technical analysts which believe that all the economic studies such as inflation, interest rate, etc. are already known by the market and are reflected in the current price. • 16. Atticus s Honesty In this journal, I will be evaluating the theme of walking in someone s shoes. An example of the theme walking in someone s shoes is with Tom Robinson and Atticus Finch. To start, Atticus is able to walk in Tom s shoes because they are both honest. One example of honesty would be when Atticus told his kids he could not win this court trial because of racism, but he would still try. Atticus being able to be honest with his kids is important because it shows that he is an honest person. An example of Tom Robinson being honest could be when he was defending himself at the court trial. Tom did not lie at his court trial; that has great importance because it shows that he is an honest person. Atticus and Tom both being honest allows them both to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of Atticus being selfless is when he decided to help Tom Robinson. Atticus knew that he would be separating himself socially and mentally, but he still decided to help Tom because he is a selfless person. Tom is also selfless for many reasons; one reason is that he chose to help Mayella Ewell. Tom Robinson knew that there were many consequences for a black man just being around a white woman, but he decided to help her anyways with no pay because he is selfless. Tom does not care if he gets in trouble or not; he helps her because he knows it is the right thing to do. With Atticus and Tom both being selfless, their actions can allow each other to walk in each other s shoes. Similar to Tom and Atticus walking in each other s shoes; Calpurnia and Walter Cunningham are also accurate examples of the theme walking in someone s shoes . To illustrate my point, Calpurnia and Walter are both different because of their family s incomes. Both Calpurnia and the Cunningham family have a lower income compared to most others in the city of Maycomb. An example of Walter s family having less money could be when the father has to pay back the Finch family in lumber because they do not have the money to pay them. The father paying in lumber displays that the Cunningham family has less money; that could separate Walter emotionally from the rest of his classmates. Walter could feel like he is not as good as his classmates because of his family s lower income. He could also be separated socially from his classmates, if his classmates left him out from their games because nobody would want to play with the poor kid. Similarly, Calpurnia is a maid for the Finch family, so she makes less money than the average family in Maycomb. Calpurnia is making less money because she is a maid, and that allows her to walk in Walter s shoes because both of their families make less money than average. A practicing nursing professional should focus on providing culturally adapted care, functions, and acknowledge any social norms for the client. By making the buildings, trees, and people all appear to grow smaller in the background creates the illusion of a deep space, which in turn allows the painting to feel more realistic. The artist makes all of the objects that are closer up (or larger), to remain the focus because the farther away the other objects appear, the more they become blurred and indecipherable . Often times, this is how our eyes perceive things in reality as well, so this illusion successfully gives the work a more natural, three dimensional feel. Grief is most likely associated with a death of a loved one, but can also be associated with any loss. Certain events and holidays can cause the griefto resurface. Grief is more than sadness and is described as an unexpected punch in the gut (Arnold and Boggs, 2016). The patterns of grief are: acute grief, anticipatory grief, chronic sorrow, and complicated grieving. Acute grief occurs as somatic distress and lasts a short time. Anticipatory grief is the response before a person dies and a person thinking about their death can cause it too. Chronic sorrow is as a normal grief response associated with ongoing living loss that is permanent, progressive, recurring, and cyclic in nature (Arnold and Boggs, 2016). Complicated grieving is longer and an intense expression of grief. The five stage model of death and dying of Elisabeth KГјbler Ross is a theoretical framework related to the grieving process. The five stages are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Denial can be either temporary or last throughout one s illness. The character implies that when girls are given educationand freedom, they will default to partaking in foolish behavior. This was a common idea in the eighteenth century as people legitimately denied women schooling based on such a concept. In the last paragraph on page 55 of Gulliver s Travels (1726), Swift comments on the education and roles of women in Lilliputian society using specific word choice and juxtaposition of male and female schooling. With this, he asserts that, while the Lilliputians regarded women with similar gender based expectations as the English, they did offer women some form of equality through the basis of education. This, of course, contrasts the treatment of women in European society which feared that female education would empower women to leave behind their traditional roles. Through his addressal of the fact that women can be educated and still succeed as mothers and wives, Swift presents that society could benefit from teaching girls basic information while still keeping them in their customary places. Plot is an author s careful arrangement of incidents in a narrative in order to achieve a desired effect. In Hurston s case, the desired effect is shaping the theme of the story. Throughout Sweat , all of the events are carefully thought out in order to show the reader that Sykes got what he deserved, therefore creating the theme what goes around comes around. The main highlighted events in this plotare the verbal conflict that Delia and Sykes have, the town scene where Sykes is being discussed by local townspeople, Sykes bringing home a rattlesnake, and Sykes getting bit by the snake. The first major incident in the plot of Sweat is a verbal conflict between Delia and Sykes in the beginning. It starts with Delia being scared with a bullwhip by Sykes. She reacts in fear, saying, Sykes, what you throw dat whip on me like dat? You know it would skeer me... (Hurston). Delia and Sykes go back and forth about how scared Delia is scared of snakes, and how Sykes purposely wants to scare her. Delia, however, stays calm until she seizes a skillet and strikes a defensive pose. Sykes is shocked, so he just leaves the house, slamming the gate after him (Hurston). At this point in the story, the reader gets a good idea of the relationship between Delia and Sykes. The reader knows Delia and Sykes are opposites, Sykes badness outlines the good, hardworking side of Delia. This first scene serves as rising action to get to know the life of Delia and Sykes. • 36. Chapter Analysis Of Tea Cake By Zora Neale Tea Cake s beating of Janie early in chapter 17 is one of the most confusing incidents in the novel. We read that Janie is hardly effected by this so we begin to question why. Her character finally had developed a voice and she shows it by accepting the beating, saying that she is strong enough to handle him and will only speak when she chooses to. In previous chapters we watched as Jody played god, and now we see this trait in Tea Cake. The storm, however, is thought to be simple and safe by Tea Cake, when in reality it is a force to be reckoned with. The chapter in which Tea Cake, Janie, and Motor Boat wait out the storm is the most direct example of this conflict. Here we see humans against god, Janie and her friends against nature. The ... The reasons is that humans are thought to be cruel where the overseer can steal or be abusive (Turkle 2015). Although the storylines are quite different, we get the feeling that many themes and strategies such as isolation, incredible poetic effect, and the recurring use of a helper figure used to develop the characters, are relatively interchangeable. This dramatization brings the reader to the realization that the protagonist s stream of consciousness narration is very unpredictable, yet will ultimately lead to his ability to expose his true feelings as the story develops. The author clearly likes to represent this feeling of indecision with poetic illustration as it is used several times in both stories. In Newlywed , the narrator vividly describes his mixed feelings toward his wife, Atsuko, during the peak of his epiphany like experience: For me, the beautiful, all encompassing web spun by this creature is at once so polluted, yet so pure that I feel compelled to grab on to it. I am terrified by it but find myself unable to hide from it. At some point I have been caught up in the magical power she has. • 42. Descriptive Essay On Hippies Hippies When I think about the mountains my mind automatically goes to hippies. So I thought visiting Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg was fitting for this essay. During my time in Tennessee, I attended a car show and I saw many Hippie vans and old style classic Volkswagen beetles. We walked the strip in Gatlinburg and I came in close contact with many people who I thought were pretty close to Hippies. The strip had tons of restaurants on each side and stores were filled with so many different people. But mostly everyone was in touch with their hippie side or nature side. Many men had long untamed beards while the women had super long hair and they all seemed to dress free . There was a moonshine tasting store and right in front of it had a stage and three guys (very in touch with the natural look) with long beards and they were playing banjos and guitars. They were very much in touch with their hippie side . There was one certain store that stood out to me because it had so many crazy colors and peace signs everywhere. It also had 420 written everywhere and Bob Marley blankets displayed along with hoodies which I m sure you understand what they were referring to. At the car show, I also observed the people around the cars. Many men like I had seen before in Gatlinburg sported the long straggly beards. Pigeon Forge had a lot of RV campgrounds and tons of gorgeous cabins you can rent out and stay in. Much like I said in my outline, Hippies love to hang out in social events and I m sure there were many more hippie like groups/people in TennesseeI just didn t get the chance to see them. I noticed there was a lot of older women at the car show dressed what you would put in the same category of a hippie. I also associate drinking (not much like the alcohol we have today) with hippies. Almost every of age person was drinking or already drunk. Since marijuana is illegal in Tennessee so I didn t see anyone out in public smoking marijuana.
