Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi And The Prosperity Workers
The Prosperity Workers
There are many types of people around the world who help others in the pursuit of social justice.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Cesar Chavez, and Wangari Maathai are some of the type who
were looking for justice, equality, and equal opportunities. These human rights activists all fought
for their rights and persisted in trying to make a change in the world around them.
One of the most popular human rights activists who fought for racial equality, Mohandas
Karamchand Gandhi would stop at no length to achieve this. Gandhi developed his philosophy of
Satyagraha, or resistance through non violent civil disobedience to defend his rights and the
rights of all Indians and non whites. Practices of Satyagraha included boycotts, protest marches,
and fasts. He encouraged others to defend their rights in this manner, and to work together to
end racial injustice in South Africa (Study Synce). One for encouraging people to face their
fears,Gandhi would let people get out of their comfort zones and fight for what is theirs; With
this, Gandhi would also have people who did not agree with him. The author stated that Gandhi
was sent to prison for 6 years, Gandhi had been thrown off a train in South America because he
was Indian, and had attempts of assassination against him, the final one being successful from a
Buddhist extremist Nathuram Vinayak Godse (Sivananda). Even though Gandhi had faced
obstacles such as these, nevertheless, people still rallied to him and supported him during
troubling times, this would help Gandhi achieve racial justice. Gandhi s firm and tenacious
adherence to the cause of the poor, the downtrodden Harijans, and the common man of the
Indian village, is indeed worthy of emulation. Through all the vicissitudes of time and power and
fame, he kept before the vision of the Indian Congress the fundamental purpose for which it came
into being the amelioration of the suffering of the poor. Uncrowned king of the land, he
remained a friend of the poor; he lived for them, moved among them as one of them, and served
them with all his heart. He saw God in them, and in their service wore out his body (Sivananda).
As seen from what Gandhi had done and how people were inspired by him,

Starry Night And Van Gogh Analysis
The Starry Night (fig.1), painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1889, and Fountain (fig. 2), created by
Marcel Duchamp in 1914, are generally known as Modern Art. The professor Nalini Rao always
taught her students about the importance of analyzing artworks by various viewpoints in order to
appreciate underlying purposes of each artwork and how artworks are created, and The Starry Night
and Fountain actually have both similarities and differences. While both Vincent van Goghand
Marcel Duchamp used new methods for depicting and reinterpreting the world, they differ in
their reasons why they used new techniques. Duchamp is the pioneer of Modern Art because his
artwork is more related to modern society than Van Gogh s. One similarity between Vincent van
Gogh and Marcel Duchamp is that both sought new approaches to depicting the world. The
Starry Night has distortions of nature by expressive use of colors. For example, Van Gogh
depicted a moon and star filled night sky, but the crescent moon is as bright as the sun, and
eleven stars painted by green, yellow, white, and pink are similar to jewels. Moreover, the Milky
Way that looks a large swirling cloud gives individuals strong and powerful impressions of Van
Gogh s uniqueness. As shown above, Van Gogh distorted nature by using various colors, and no
one before Van Gogh depicted landscape energetically through colors according to Nathalia
BrodskaГЇa (88). In a similar way to Van Gogh s new approaches to art making, Marcel Duchamp

Gorbachev And The Soviet Union
This is a photo of Gorbachev giving a speech. Mikhail Gorbachev became Secretary General of
the Soviet Union in 1985, until he resigned in 1991. Gorbachev was much younger than the
previous leaders of the Soviet Union and had many ideas for reforms. After entering office,
Gorbachev began to implement a wide range of reforms. He sought to correct many problems in the
Soviet Union, including economic problems, the issues and history of harsh punishments against
dissidents, and unrest among the different groups that made up the Soviet Union. Gorbachev began
to encourage a culture of openness and honesty between the government and the Soviet people. This
policy was known as glasnost . Gorbachev also instituted a reform of restructuring the... Show more

As the United States and the Soviet Union began to normalise their relationship, many people in
the Soviet republics began to feel that they no longer needed to be part of the Soviet Union for
protection against a military threat. President Richard Nixon and Soviet Premier Leonid
Brezhnev began this process of dГ©tente in an attempt to pull back from the threat of nuclear war
and to begin increased trade between the United States and the Soviet Union. DГ©tente made
people feel safer as it decreased the threat of nuclear war and included formal agreements on arms
control and the security of Europe. However, dГ©tente contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union
as some of the Soviet republics decided that they no longer needed to be part of the Soviet Union
for protection against a military threat. Therefore, they gradually realised that if they did not need
that protection, then they did not need the Soviet Union at all. Consequently, dГ©tente planted the
seeds for some of the Soviet republics to dream of independence.

Teenage Smoking Satire
Teen Smoking
In the past few years teen smoking has lowered but is still a risk. Most of the teens like to smoke
to show that they are cool. If they do smoke, wherever parents aren t they might be smoking a
cigarette. The main problem with teen smoking is that it is bad for them but addicting as well.
They get addicted and then they can t stop smoking. The chemicals in it, the addiction, and lung
disease will kill teens if no one does anything about it.
The chemicals are horrible in cigarettes. According to The Real Cost there is rat poison, lead,
bleach, and many other harmful chemicals. The number of toxins in cigarettes is 7851. Why
would anyone put that in there body. It is insane, smoking may kill up to 6 million people who
smoked as a teen in 2030. Imagine dying at 32 because you smoked. It would not be fun. ... Show

Whitening Your Teeth Research Paper
A good majority of people desire to have whiter teeth. Luckily, there are many actions you can take
in order to prevent new stains forming on your teeth. There are a number of different ways to
whiten your teeth. This article brings you useful tips for getting you teeth white and keeping them
that way.
Mouthwash may be causing some of your teeth discoloration. All of the alcohol and excess
chemicals that are present in mouthwash cause yellowish stains, because they remove the enamel
on your teeth that keeps them white. Check with your dentist, though, to be sure that you have
healthy enough teeth to skip mouthwash.
TIP! Before you embark on a program in whitening your teeth, keep in mind that whitening agents
are only effective on natural teeth. Dont ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The high acid content of strawberry juice helps you to remove discolorations from your tooth
enamel. This does not cost a lot of money and will help provide you with a beautiful smile.
Consider using natural coconut oil for whitening your teeth. Giving your teeth a 10 minute daily
rinse in coconut oil can have great effects on the whiteness of your smile. After approximately 10
minutes, make sure to spit it out, then brush like normal. You should start seeing results after just a
few days.
TIP! These bits of food will get caught in your teeth and leave stains. A great way to avoid getting
stains is by chewing sugar free gum.
Toothpastes that claim they will make your teeth whiter usually dont work. Although these
toothpastes provide some degree of whitening, you are going to need other, stronger methods to get
your teeth as white as you want them. If you insist on buying a whitening toothpaste, make sure to
get one that has baking soda in it.
Although mouthwashes help to improve the health of your mouth, they also cause teeth
discoloration. If you still prefer to use mouthwash, opt for a formula that is not brightly colored or

Routine Treatment For MRSA
Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus; MRSA
According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH) Staphylococcus
Aureus (S. Aureus) was first discovered in the 1880s. The S. Aureus infection caused pain on site,
boils, and scaled skin. The S. Aureus infection can cause bacterial pneumonia or bacteriain the
blood stream which can have fatal effects. In the 1940s the use of the antibiotics such as penicillin
became a routine treatment for the infection. The consistent treatment using antibiotics lead to the
bacteria evolving and becoming resistant to the drugs that were fighting the bacteria. In the late
1950s scientist developed methicillin, which is a form of penicillin, ... Show more content on

aureus bacteria has developed strains that are resistant to Penicillin, Methicillin, amoxicillin, and
more antibiotics. There are even reports of strains that are resistant to Vancomycin. If this
development in MRSA continues, it is greatly feared that we will run out of defenses against
MRSA. However, doctors and scientists are strategizing and researching to prevent the
development of MRSA. One strategy that is currently in clinical trial stages is the treatment of
simple CA MRSA cases with off patent antimicrobial medications. This will limit the MRSA
bacterias exposure to the more commonly relied upon medications and hopefully reduce the
chance of it developing more resistance. Current research may even change how MRSA is treated
in the future. Scientists are analyzing how the MRSA bacteria works in attempts to develop new
and better medications in its treatment. Scientists have recently discovered Phenol Soluble
Modulin (PSM) Proteins in MRSA bacteria. It is believed that these proteins play a key role in the
strength and severity of MRSA infections. The PSM proteins destroy white blood cells and most
other immune cells. Without these cells the body cannot protect itself from MRSA. Scientists today
hope to create a drug that can prevent the PSM proteins from functioning. If this can be
accomplished, the severity and threat of MRSA will be greatly

Redhead Stereotypes
Life as a redhead is tough when you don t have a soul. It is extremely difficult living life without
sympathy or the inability to be kind towards others. In my mind I feel like I want to do these
things, but being a ginger, I just can t. I want to feel bad for people with blonde, black, brown, or
whatever other color of hair there is, but since I have red hair I just can t. I want to feel bad for
all those other hair colors who don t like as stunning as we do, but I just can t. Living without a
soul is the hardest part of being a redhead, but everything else is gravy.
The redhead stereotypes make me laugh. Obviously the one about us not having a soul, that we

I m the only one at my school with red hair so naturally I get all the attention. The benefits of
being a redhead are incredible. For starters, I never have to worry about the effects of the sun
because I am intelligent and make sure to lather myself with the highest grade of SPF sunblock
there is. My preference is Banana Boat for Men SPF 30, but anything lower than that is
unacceptable. The second benefit of my beautiful hair is all the compliments I receive from
older ladies that see me for the first time. It is almost guaranteed that when I am introduced to a
lady who appears to be a grandmother, the first thing out of her mouth is, Oh My Goodness! I
love your hair! So I feel pretty special when that happens. No other hair color can boast that like
we can. Another great benefit of being a redhead is that people automatically assume that you
are a comedian. You can say something and people will think it is the funniest thing on the
planet. People look at redheads and laugh all the time. I like to think they are laughing with us
and not at us though. But this puts a lot of pressure on us because we have to provide the world
with comedy or else it will fall into oblivion perhaps. Probably not, but it is nice getting
recognition from people that we have a sense of humor. The last benefit is the holidays that we
get. If you are a ginger and don t know about National Kiss a GInger day, then you have been
missing out. One day in the whole year where someone kisses you because you have red hair.
How incredible is that? A free kiss because you were born with red hair. In my opinion this is one
of the greatest benefits of being a ginger. In the end people may laugh at us or with us, but they
will never truly get to feel the absolute joy it is to be a redhead everyday of the

Lupus is a potentially life threatening disease that effects about 1.5 million Americans. Lupus can
effect many different parts of the body. Lupus is a type of autoimmune system disorder in which
the body cannot distinguish the difference between foreign antibodies and its own organs. So
basically what happens is that the body ends up attacking its own organs thinking they are foreign
substances. (The Lupus Foundation of America)

Some may include: Achy joints, Fever of over 100 degrees, arthritis, extreme fatigue, skin rashes,
anxiety, kidney involvement, pain in the chest area or trouble breathing, rash, light sensitivity, hair

but many people who have Lupus do not experience more then one or two of these symptoms. (The
Lupus Foundation of America, The Lupus Page)
There are many different ways to treat Lupus. The most common treatment does not cure Lupus,
but minimizes the symptoms and reduces inflammation. Support groups to help relieve anxiety and
regular exercise can help treat the disease as well. There are a bunch of drugs that can be prescribed
to help treat the specific symptoms. Most of these drugs are anti inflammatory drugs. Some of them
are as simple as over the counter painkillers like Tylenol, while others can be powerful steroids with
anti inflammatory agents in them. (The Lupus Foundation of America, The Lupus Page)
In conclusion Lupus is definitely a very serious disease that we must learn more about. My great
aunt had Lupus for over ten years and during that time suffered in ways no person should have to.
She would fall down constantly and break bones. Near the end of her life, she would break bones
doing stuff as simple as getting out of bed.

Informative Speech On The Black Sox Scandal
General Purpose: I will inform the class about an event in history.
Specific Purpose: I would like to inform people on the 1919 Black Sox Scandal in Major League
Baseball.
Introduction
Attention Getter: In 2008 the New York Giants won the Super Bowl by defeating the previously
unbeaten New England Patriots in what most sports fans call one of the greatest upsets in sports
history. What would you think if I told you the Patriots lost the game on purpose? They didn t, but
in 1919 eight members of the Chicago White Sox conspired to intentionally lose the World Series
against the Cincinnati Reds in what people now refer to as the Black Sox Scandal.
Speaker Credibility:
My uncle is a huge sports buff and he s often talked to me about this specific scandal. I remember
growing up and still hearing how upset this scandal made him. Its something that still prevalent in
todays sports.
Relate the topic to the audience:
You all probably have watched sports at some time and it should be very interesting for you guys to
know about some drama within the sports industry.
Specific purpose:
Today I want to share with you the story of the black sox scandal of 1919.
Preview of Main Points:
I will talk to you about why the Whitesoxs were the favorites, why the Whitesoxs players didn t like
their management, and how that affected how baseball changed his management.
Body
A.Transition: Heading into the World Series the White Sox were heavy favorites, and people in
both cities believed they would make quick work of the Reds.
I.Throughout the time leading up to the 1919 World Series, reporters in both Chicago and
Cincinnati spoke about how good the World Series would be, and the odds makers listed the White
Sox as heavy favorites.

Alexsandro Palombo Essay
I also chose a picture of Disney princesses created by AleXsandro Palombo. There are a few
reasons he states that are the inspiration behind the images. The first being that he suffered
paralyzation in some parts of his body after surgeries to remove a rare cancer that he had. He is
now disabled and experiences what he says is discrimination and humiliation. He wants to create
an awareness of this problem. The next reason he gives is there are no Disney movies depicting
a princess with a disability and he believes that now is the time for Disney to consider creating a
princess with a disability because there are now more than ever so many people with
disabilities. He wants Disney to get the message that Disabled people have rights and are part of
the world. I agree with what AleXsandro Palombo says about Disney, they have not had any
movies with a disabled princess and I believe now is the time. Doing so could create a bridge

about disabilities. It could create inclusion and tolerance the list is endless. Disney has the power

Why Is D-Day Important
Joseph Cooper Mr. Miller Social Study 25 October 2016 D Day D Day was one of the most
important battles of World War II. The reason why D Day was important is because it marked
the first time in the war that Allied troops threatened Germany s control of Europe ( Why Is D

Europe. We might not have won the war without winning this foot hold. D Day is the secret date

Chipping Vs Pitching
Chipping
There are some newer Golfers who confuse chipping and pitching . The difference is that chipping
is more similar to putting. A chipping swing is more restricted to just the shoulders and arms. Your
body remains still.
What makes a good chip shot is a proper setup and swing. Whenever you set up to make a chip
shot you need to use an open stance . Keep your feet and hips opened slightly toward your target.
It s natural for this stance to feel a bit odd at first. However, it s necessary for giving your arms
the room they need to swing through your target. When you make a chip shot and use a square
stance, your wrists are at risk of unhinging.
Play your ball toward the back foot while narrowing your stance. Utilize a neutral grip ... Show

ball. To have a successful down swing you ll have to accelerate your club head while making

Be sure your club enters the sand at least 1 or maybe 2 inches behind your ball. Allow your club
to do all the work while it enters the sand. Avoid trying to scoop your ball upward and out.
A crucial element of all sand shots is to accelerate through impact . This is especially true when
the sand is wet or packed tightly. The acceleration will be the one single thing keeping the club
head from stopping as it impacts its way through the sand.
A sand shot follow through has to be full as well as smooth without any sudden stops. Keep the

and recession of policy issues from the transnational policy agenda. The primary goal of this paper
is to define the current equilibrium and how it is punctuated. The secondary goal is to examine
what forces drive the punctuated equilibrium, so that we might predict punctuation in the future. To
this end, I hope to demonstrate the utility of the theory by studying structural funding (SF) policy
within the European Union.

The increasingly interdependent nature of the transnational system has resulted in national borders
becoming ever more ill matched with political and economic forces and reality. This
interdependence has made it possible for Western European states to transfer policy responsibilities
to the transnational level in order to shape, manage, control, take advantage of, and keep pace with
the modern world.
To the extent that transnational authorities attempt to control, either directly or indirectly, the
economies and social welfare of its members, the study of policymaking is a process worth
studying. EU policymaking is governed by various instruments, including treaty provisions,
regulations, and directives. While many policy studies on the EU focus on the need for, and
benefits of, general economic and social policies, the more fundamental, and I would submit
rigorous issues of specific policy formation, and its impacts, are under researched.
The central aim of this paper is to begin closing that gap by examining EU policy in terms of its
agenda setting characteristics. To do this, I explore a theory of punctuated equilibrium, based on the
emergence and recession of policy issues from the transnational policy agenda. Defining the current
equilibrium and how it is punctuated is one goal of this paper. Also, examining what forces drive
the punctuated equilibrium, that is, under what conditions it occurs will help in understanding how

The Disappearance Of Childhood Summary
The Disappearance of Childhood Summary In The Disappearance of Childhood, Neil Postman
presents his ideas on the social artifact that is childhood. While he states that childhood is a recent
invention, Postman declares that childhood is also disappearing and eroding at an alarming rate.
Postman opens the book by observing that children s clothes are becoming harder to distinguish
from that of an adult, and that this supports the fact that the line between a childand an adult is
becoming blurred. While the Greeks foreshadowed the idea of childhoodand invented the concept of
schools and educating the young, the Romans made the connection between shame and childhood.
Postman points out that there must be shame in order to have childhood, and continues to use this
concept throughout the reading. However when the Roman empire collapses and the Middle Ages
take over, shame disappears along with literacy, education, and as a consequence, childhood. In the
Middle Ages, shame was not a concept, and secrets were not kept from children, because
everything was learned orally. This changes when the printing press is invented. The printing press
lead amplified individualism, which eventually applied to children, allowing them to think logically
and form their own opinions. There developed a division... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Postman argues that because of this, the sense of shame and innocence paired with childhood
disappears, and children begin to develop adult attitudes, adding to the erosion of the defining line
between childhood and adulthood even more. With childhood disappearing, adulthood follows, and
the creation of the adult child is seen. Adults are seen acting more like children, and this is
especially demonstrated in TV. TV does not have to distinguish between child and adult simply
because they both possess the same capacity and skill to watch

Water Pollution And Its Effects On The Environment
Water covers almost 75% of the earth s surface and is undoubtedly our most precious natural
resource that exists on our planet today. There won t be any living organism on our planet without
water. Water Pollution occurs when a body of water is severely affected due to addition of large
amount of materials to the water.[Missouri Botanical Garden] Pollutions such as sewage and
fertilizers contain nutrients such as nitrates and phosphates. At high levels, nutrients can over
stimulate the growth of aquatic plants and algae. Excessive growth of these types of organisms
consequently clogs our waterways, use up dissolved oxygenas they decompose, and block light to
deeper waters.[David Krantz] This could be very harmful to aquatic organisms as it affects the
respiration ability of fish and other creatures of the sea. Pollution is also caused when silt and
other suspended solids, such as soil, washoff plowed fields, construction and logging sites,
urban areas, and eroded river banks when it rains.[David Krantz] Pollution in the form of
organic material enters waterways in many different forms as sewage, as leaves and grass
clippings, or as runoff from livestock feedlots and pastures. When natural bacteria and protozoan
in the water break down this organic material, they begin to use up the oxygen dissolved in the
water. Many types of fish and bottom dwelling animals cannot survive when levels of dissolved
oxygen drop below two to five parts per million. When this occurs, it

Essay on The Army Should Continue Random Drug Testing
Soldiers are in the spot light way to much these days, from a recruiter at a local school to a
Soldier in Iraq. The nation trust s these Soldiers to defend her against all enemies, both foreign
and domestic. With this trust comes added responsibility and scrutiny from the media. The Army
is aware of this and takes great measures to combat any disloyal acts from happening with in its

Texting And Driving Cause Death Essay
The facts are astounding and horrific. According to the Association for Safe and International
Travel, nearly 1.3 million individuals are killed in road related crashes each year. This accounts
for 3,287 deaths each day. Among the statistics, is the fact, that car related accidents are the
leading cause of death among young adults ages 15 through 29. It is also the second leading
cause of death worldwide among young people ages 5 through 14. Unless action is taken, car
related deaths are expected to become the fifth leading cause of death by 2030.
One of the actions I would propose is changing the age where teenagers can first get their license.

Characterization of Women in The Yellow Wallpaper and Desiree s Baby
There was a time (not so long ago) when a man s superiority and authority wasn t a question, but an
accepted truth. In the two short stories, Desiree s Baby , and The Yellow Wallpaper , women are
portrayed as weak creatures of vanity with shallow or absent personalities, who are dependent on
men for their livelihood, and even their sanity. Without men, these women were absolutely helpless
and useless. Their very existence hinged on absolute and unquestioning submission...alone, a
woman is nothing.
The setting of both stories reinforces the notion of women s dependence on men. The late 1800 s
were a turbulent time for women s roles. The turn of the century ... Show more content on

John s wife describes their summer retreat as a Colonial mansion, a hereditary estate, I would say a
haunted house...The windows are barred (158 161). Both dwellings are clearly symbolic of the
dark, stifling circumstances surrounding a woman of the times. In fact, the narrator of The Yellow
Wallpaper eventually perceives the very room she is in as a prison. When speaking of the paper she
says, By moonlight it becomes bars (164) it is clear that she feels trapped.
Characterization also plays a major role in conveying the sexist and generally inferior manner in
which women were treated and perceived. The men are condescending and unemotional. At first,
Aubingy is described as passionately loving his Desiree... That was how the Aubingy s fell in
love, as if struck by a pistol shot (141). However, upon finding that his baby is not the Aryan bundle
of joy he d thought it to be, the racially charged remark that Aubigny makes to his distraught wife
is I want you to go (143). How can a love so powerful, which would have caused him to forget the
importance of a name, have deserted him so readily? Almost as quickly as it came, the love light
went out of his eyes, and was replaced with unparalleled intolerance.

Labor per square foot is the given rate per square foot of floor area. Initial Preparatory Work
involves all actions required to be completed before the contractor can begin working on the
floor. There are three parts to this section. Initially, all the furniture and fixtures (toilet, sinks not
attached to walls) need to be removed. Depending on the quantity/size of furniture/fixtures that
need to be removed, contractors will typically charge between $15 and $50 per hour. Customers
can cut out this cost if they agree to have the items removed prior to the contractor arriving.
However, if it is agreed upon and the items are not removed, the contractor will usually charge
150% of the normal rate, because this will add additional time to the job, causing him to
possibly run behind schedule for another job, and he schedules jobs based on time estimates.
The next part is the removal and disposal of the existing floor. The price for this can range from
$25 to $75 per hour, based on the type of flooring being removed. Carpet and vinyl are easy to
remove, thus would be on the low end. Tile is more difficult because mortar is used to install it
and all of that has to be broken up and removed. Again, the customer can save during this phase if
they do the removal themselves, with the same penalty if not removed prior to the contractor
arrival. The final part of this phase is repairing the subfloor. Costs for this repair vary greatly on
what needs to be repaired, and are usually

Essay on Voter Habits Based on Demographics
Voter Habits Based on Demographics
Abstract
In this paper I intend to evaluate the voting habits of the American public. I will look at how race,
sex, education level, marital status, income level, current employment status, and age affects
whether or not people vote. I am also going to examine which political parties these groups have
historically voted for, why they vote for them, how this has changed over the years if it has
changed at all, and why it has changed.
I believe that from previous voting information you could fairly well predict the voters choices. I m
not saying you could foretell the outcome of upcoming elections, but you could figure out what to
expect given the state of current affairs.

This difference is made up of people who do not have United States citizenship. This is important
for the consideration of racial and ethnic differences in voting rates. Immigration has affected the
non citizen population of many groups. Only two percent of Non Hispanic whites are not citizens
and six percent of Blacks are not citizens. This is in stark contrast to the thirty eight percent of
Hispanics and thirty eight percent of Asians and Pacific Islanders who do not have citizenship.
This can be seen in the nineteen percent of voting age Hispanics, Asians and Pacific Islanders who
voted compared to the thirty percent of the voting age citizen population who voted. This is
illustrated well in the following graph.
The overall percentage of 18 and over citizens who voted in the 2002 congressional election was at
the second lowest with the 1998 election being the lowest. There has been an increase in the
overall number of people eligible to vote, but a decrease in the percentage that register to vote and
the percentage of registered voters that do. I believe this comes from an increase in the
sensationalism of the presidential elections that over shadows the congressional elections. The
hype and prominence isn t present so it tends to slide by unnoticed. You can see this in the average
difference of thirteen percent more voters in presidential elections since 1964. The people who do
vote in these elections are the ones, I

Dramatic Play As A Great Developmental Learning Tool
When I arrived to Kidwatch Plus, I was assigned to a class where the children s age range from 4
to 4.5 years old. When I walking the class the children were finishing up with lunch. After lunch
they have 30 minute of free play. The teacher asked me to pick an area where I wanted to observe
the children and I picked the dramatic playarea. In dramatic playchildren pretend to be someone or
something different than themselves. Dramatic play can be a great developmental learningtool
because it allows children to develop skills in areas such as abstract thinking, literacy, math,
natural and social studies, specially helps them to socialize with other children. The dramatic
play area was located in the right corner of the class. The dramatic play area consisted of a small
kitchen and pretend food, a cash register with cash and coins, multicultural dolls and strollers,
and a closet with dress up clothes, hats, scarves, feathers, purses, and shoppings bags. At the time of
my observation, I was able to witness free play of two girls and two boys, a third girl was on and
off of the dramatic play area.
I stayed in the corner where I had access to the entire dramatic play area. I was able to hear and
see everything without disturbing and/or making the children uncomfortable by my presence there.

Anime Of Anime And Anime
Period 1/4 History of Anime
Manga and anime are a huge part in American and the Japanese culture. Anime and Manga were
once used for war, propaganda, and recruitment, but is now used for entertainment and leisure.
Anime was not just created by one man but by many working together. Anime has had a long line
of history causing it to become more and more loved throughout the years. It not only caused
Japan a great deal of money and working jobs but it also influenced more people to see the brighter
things in life. Manga was not only just important in anime s history but it was the cause of it. The
time line of huge success in anime started in 1914 with the first manga being created.
World War II was a big part in anime history with the nation being mobilized in which the anime and
manga industry evolved quite a lot. The war caused that government to force people to conform to
the government or pay a high price. Those that didn t cooperate were banned from writing, given
preventive detention, and sometimes even social ostracism. People who spent most of their lives
criticizing and judging the government did an about face and offered support to militarists. Those
who followed the government s command Were rewarded with support from their community and

states that the mussel can attach itself to a ship s bottom or can survive in the ballast water and

The Contributions Of Science And Science
As a contemporary writer observing the timeline of modern science, and all the abridgments made
to it over the past few centuries, one cannot help but ponder upon the course that science took to
reach what it is today. We are aware of the pioneers of science such as Newton, Lavoisier, Stahl,
Joule, Maxwell, Einstein etc, and all of the groundbreaking contributions these extraordinary
individuals made to mould scienceinto what we today know it to be. Over the course of History of
Science, we have examined the various factors influencing the life and work of various men of
science, and how the society, polity and religion of their time affected their contributions to science.
We began with the classical elegance of Newtonian Enlightenment, drifted onto the chaotic
happenings of the Industrial Revolution, glanced past the Romantic Movement and finally came
upon the Einsteinian revelation. Through the course of the 300 or so years the aforementioned
periods encompassed, we have seen scientific theories envisioned, published, critiqued, lauded and
destroyed. Time is our witness as we analyze the many edits made to the holy text of science, and
keeping in mind the irony of the previous sentence , I attempt to answer the question, Is Modern
Science a result of a few abrupt revolutions, or is it a carefully cumulative accumulation of
knowledge ?
I begin with a brief introduction as to what is meant by revolution, scientific revolution,
revolutionary theories in the context

Comparison Of Edgar Allan Poe And Jacob s Story
Have you ever did something, then felt horrible later on?like guilty? Guilt is a horrible feeling,
Even more so if someone s life was ended by something you did. Edgar Allan Poe and W. W.
Jacob s story s both inform us how powerful guilt can be, in both, there s story s someone dies
and there is an extreme amount of guilt. In the monkeys paw, there s a home that house s three

different states and many other things over some drinks. The sergeant started telling a story
about something called the monkey s paw, which is what really peaked the father s interest. The
sergeant said it would grant you three wishes, but at a price. After the he finished his story the
father asked to have it as a memento. The father s friend knew there was no way he would drop
it so the sergeant gave him the paw, but before letting go he told him there were consequences if
he used it. It was getting late and the sergeant had to leave. After he left the son went to bed so he
would be ready for work in the morning, but the father and mother stayed up talking about the paw.
A hour pasted and the father wished for money not thinking about what bad may happen. I wishfor

A study carried out by the SCK CEN was done to evaluate how and how quickly the radioactive
materials could be transported to safe areas as the real danger of the tailings falling into the river
are very real. All it takes is a heavy rain fall to push the materials into the water. The people of the
area are ingesting locally grown foods and this is causing more than 90% of damage. This means
there should be close monitoring and restrictions on food crops to ensure safety. Also the dosages
due to inhaling radon in the air can be reduced by increasing ventilation in the houses and some
action should be taken to remove peoples who the ventilation cannot help. (Vandenhove et al., 2003)
Overall the DWDS does not provide good quality drinking water, and many of the wells used for
drinking water and irrigation are contaminated from the tailings seeping into the surface waters
and ground waters. The presences of arsenic in the water is well above the WHO acceptable
levels and this is very dangerous as arsenic is extremely toxic to humans and animals. Also the
levels of chlorine and selenium in some drinking wells, four in the area one located near a school
and used by a large number of children for drinking purposes, are well above the guidelines deemed
acceptable for quality of water intended for human consumption by the European Union Directive.

Sexual intercourse or palpable affection are but two, albeit very critical, factors that play to the
healthy levels of physical intimacy shared by a couple. Unfortunately, when a spouse abuses
substances a whole litany of side effects can occur. For starters, the non alcoholic spouse may be
generally less attractive due to their significant others behavior. Also, the libido of either a man or
a woman are adversely impacted by chronic substance abuse. Lastly, desire may be there for both
parties, but male addicts and alcoholics may experience some degree of erectile dysfunction. Other
than the obvious endorphins, dopamine and other feel good chemical reactions that naturally occur
when two people engage in sexual congress, couples that fall short in this part of a relationship
may feel additional frustration and inadequacies that tie into a deeper emotional intimacy concern.
Secondly, emotional intimacy is for most couples the far more important tie that will make or

other than sex. Respect, trust, value and other feelings create bonds that will dictate the success of

The Functionalist Perspective On Emotions
According to the functionalist perspective on emotions, emotions are defined as an attempt by the
individual to establish, maintain, change, or terminate the relation between the environment and
the individual (Frijda, 1986). This approach is intrinsically relational and suggests that one cannot
understand emotionwithout considering the individual within any given context. Thus, emotions are
conceptualized as being flexible, contextually bound, and goal directed, and are critical for guiding
interpersonal relations (Butler, Lee, Gross, 2007; Campos, Mumme, Kermoian, Campos, 1994). In
order to understand how emotions influence interpersonal relations one must consider the role of
cultural context. Culture influences the way in which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

one must first gain an understanding of the importance of emotional development and socialization.
Once these concepts have been explained, past research regarding culture and emotion will be
evidenced in support for the current study proposal.
Emotional Development and Socialization
Emotional development is the emergence of a child s experience, expression, understanding, and
regulation of emotions. This developmental process begins in infancy and continues through late
adolescence, with the most dramatic increase in skills often occurring during the transition from
middle childhood to adolescence (von Salisch, 2001). Emotional development is strongly related
with healthy psychological functioning, as research consistently supports the link between deficits
in emotional competency and a variety of negative social and psychological outcomes such as
increases in internalizing and externalizing symptomology (Garner Hinton, 2010; Perry Parish
Zeman, 2011). It is because of this strong association that researchers have pushed for increased
attention to identify components deemed necessary for adaptive

Social Media Oxymoron
The Social Media Oxymoron Social Media might be the best worst thing to ever happen to our
current times. Social Media is defined as websites and applications that enable users to create
and share content or to participate in social networking. The premise of social media was to help
young adults or business owners to network in order to build a following. The term has become
very broad in recent times. For many, the term means social applications such as Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. For others, the term is loosely interpreted as any site on the
internet that people can communicate on. Although the latter is technically true, we will
interpret the term as being the social applications. The advent of social media has caused both
positive and negative developments on our times. Social media has developed our times through
the access to a multitude of information or news and the access to people s personal lives. What
is Social media? Social media is becoming an important part of life online as social websites and
applications generate more of a following. Most social media sites include components, such as
comment fields for users. In business, social media is used to promote products, promote brands,
connect to current customers and create new business. Customers can use social media sites to
offer ideas for future products or the improvement of old ones. On the other hand, the integration of
social media in the business world can also caused

Jackie Robinson Perseverance
Has anyone ever advocated for you or anything you respect? Although Jackie Robinson, Melba
Patillo Beals, and Helen Keller advocated for different things, the three did make life changing
turning points to change their countries for the better. They all had one thing in common despite
their differences; perseverance. But what actions of perseverance did they commit to? For a long
time, only white people were in the major leagues. Until, however, Jackie Robinsondefied this and
made a change for the better. He was the first African Americanin America to be in the major
leagues of baseball, although many people did not agree with this. This is shown when we see
that white people had yelled insults and racial slurs at him during his games, It hadn t been that
easy to fight the resentment expressed by players on other teams, by the team owners, or by
bigoted fans screaming n . The man who helped him get to the major leagues team, The Brooklyn

Uncertainty Reduction Theory
Jonathan Quinones
Literature Review Paper
Comm 306
Uncertainty Reduction Theory Uncertainty is an unpleasant feeling and because of this feeling,
people are motivated to reduce this uncertainty by means of communication. Uncertainty reduction
theory (URT) was developed to describe the interrelationships in any type of communication
exchange using seven factors: verbal communication, nonverbal expressiveness, information
seeking behavior, intimacy, reciprocity, similarity, and liking (Berger Calabrese, 1975). During the
beginning stage information about ones sex, age, socio economic status, along with other
demographic information can be obtained. The exchange of information during this beginning stage
of communication is usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Uncertainty reduction within an instructional context is something that as not been researched
extensively, and because teacher student relations is considered to be a type of interpersonal
relationship, it seems warranted that a study in terms of proactive attributions and uncertainty in
their relationship be conducted. Communication satisfaction is an affective response to the
accomplishment of communication goals and expectations, and results when positive expectations
are fulfilled, yet is dependent on whatever expectations individuals have about an interaction
(Goodboy Myers, 2007).
With the use of certain axioms in URT such as similarity/homophily, the sharing of attitudes, beliefs,
background, demographics, and physical attributes. The 7th axiom in URT which is Liking, one of
the most common desires of individuals is the need to be liked. Berger and Calabrese (1975)
propose: increases in uncertainty level produce decreases in liking; decreases in uncertainty level
produce increases in liking . The method of this experiment included 147 participants who were
undergraduate students both men and women ranging from ages 18 to 23. Participants completed a
survey assessing their attributional confidence of their instructor from a previous class they
attended, using an Attributional Confidence Scale, Interpersonal communication Satisfaction
Inventory, Perceived Homophily Measure, and the

Effects Of Anatomical Parts Of Ephedra Sinica
Ephedra (Ma Huang) is a genus of plant, most commonly derived from the dried herbaceous stems
of the Chinese species, Ephedra sinica (Figure 1a and 1b). The natural plant source produces six
Ephedra alkaloids, chemicals which are considered to be the active constituents of the plant;
ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, norephedrine, norpseudoephedrine, methylephedrine and
methylpsuedoephedrine (Figure 2) (Veitch et al., 2013). The presence and concentrations of these
alkaloids depends primarily on the plant species, origin, growing conditions, and the raw plant
material processing, with most species largely containing ephedrineand pseudoephedrine (Haller et
al., 2004). Metabolomic studies have shown that anatomical parts of Ephedrasinica have different
therapeutic pharmacological effects and for this reason, have been used for different purposes in
medicine. This was demonstrated by Lv et al (2015), who used GC MS to compare the
concentrations of Ephedra sinica in the stems (Ma Huang) and in the roots (Mahuanggen) of
different plant samples. It was concluded that the pharmacologically important ephedrine alkaloids
were present in higher quantities in the stems. This is why Ephedra herb, sold as dry stems of
Ephedra sinica, has been used as a commercial source of ephedrine alkaloids worldwide, in
particular Europe and America (Lee 2011).
Ephedrine is a ОІ phenylethylamine widely used as a sympathomimetic in herbal preparations. The
structure of ephedrine possesses two

Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it s better to be absolutely ridiculous than

Gladys Baker, became very depressed soon after Marilyn was born and was institutionalized,
sending Marilyn into her first foster home ( Modern American Poetry 1). Albert and Ida Bolender

Creon Tragic Hero Analysis
Aristotle once spoke that A man doesn t become a hero until he can see the root of his own
downfall. A tragic hero can be defined in many different traits and definitions but what makes a
perfect tragic hero? It also can have many different meanings and actions towards it. A perfect
tragic hero must have a flaw of judgement leading to a tragic flaw also know as a Hamartia. Also
a person who is a royal birth and holds a high place in society. Lastly a tragic hero must discover
or recognize that the reversal was brought about by their own actions. Creon in Antigone is a
perfect example of meeting Aristotle s criteria as a tragic hero.
A hero s tragic flaw is usually due to the character s lack of knowledge, lack of judgment, and
overwhelming pride. The flaw leads to destructive consequences but that does not define the hero
as a bad character. More so Aristotle believes that the tragic hero brings their downfall to evoke
the feelings of pity and fear among the audience. Aristotle says that pity is aroused by unmerited
misfortune, fear by the misfortune of a man like ourselves. This is why majority a of tragic hero s
have those traits, pity and fear, in their plays. In his play Antigone, Creon can be ... Show more

and leads to the death of many innocent people. She is unwilling to admit to her lies to protect
herself, even while others are killed. Abigail lies about what happens in the forest. She
participated but lies about it. In act 1, scene 1 pg.1130 is says how she has drawn her lies to
people s attention. We did dance... and there s the whole of it . She actually drank blood to kill

Beginning in the late 1800 s, the feminist movement grasped third world females by the arm and
dragged them along the never ending fight for equality. The fight for the equality of the sexes has
accomplished many victories from granting women the right to vote in 1920 to banning female
genital mutilation in Nigeria just this year. Feminism brought numerous inequalities to light in the
past years, but one of the most underrated struggles fought by females of all ages everyday often
gets overlooked. Young girls still face large amounts of inequality in the classroom. Deborah

She believes that because women generally have smaller groups of friends, they feel
uncomfortable talking in areas with more people. And since men use their words to fight for a
higher place in their social hierarchy, they feel more comfortable arguing in a large group.
While this may be true for some cases, Tannen completely disregards the fact that women also
use words to fight for dominance. Girls are simply more discrete about it. Instead of arguing and
exchanging playful insults and put downs, (Tannen 2) women talk behind each others backs and
ruin each other s appearance that way. Arguments with females are much more verbal than
physical as they can be with guys. So if anything, women use language to argue and debate more
than men. This completely goes against Tannen s original thought that women don t use language
to compete, and it doesn t explain why women talk less in class. At a young age parents tell little
girls to be quiet and ladylike. This creates the stereotype that girls do not argue or debate. Girls
simply do not participate in large group debates because they are raised to be calm and soft

Chinese people, the power of the state and reassured the influence of Maoist principles and

Hu Yaobang and Deng Xiaoping, who would later be influential players in the government. Mao

How Were Women Treated In The 19th Century
Women played an enormous role in world history who fight for their rights and enlighten our
society. There are many women we can discuss whether she was Mother Teresa, Rosa Parks,

century namely Jane Austen and Queen Victoria. Both women discuss how women were treated
during the 18th and the 19th century. They are in deep conversation about the role of women in the
19th century.

  • 2. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi And The Prosperity Workers The Prosperity Workers There are many types of people around the world who help others in the pursuit of social justice. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Cesar Chavez, and Wangari Maathai are some of the type who were looking for justice, equality, and equal opportunities. These human rights activists all fought for their rights and persisted in trying to make a change in the world around them. One of the most popular human rights activists who fought for racial equality, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi would stop at no length to achieve this. Gandhi developed his philosophy of Satyagraha, or resistance through non violent civil disobedience to defend his rights and the rights of all Indians and non whites. Practices of Satyagraha included boycotts, protest marches, and fasts. He encouraged others to defend their rights in this manner, and to work together to end racial injustice in South Africa (Study Synce). One for encouraging people to face their fears,Gandhi would let people get out of their comfort zones and fight for what is theirs; With this, Gandhi would also have people who did not agree with him. The author stated that Gandhi was sent to prison for 6 years, Gandhi had been thrown off a train in South America because he was Indian, and had attempts of assassination against him, the final one being successful from a Buddhist extremist Nathuram Vinayak Godse (Sivananda). Even though Gandhi had faced obstacles such as these, nevertheless, people still rallied to him and supported him during troubling times, this would help Gandhi achieve racial justice. Gandhi s firm and tenacious adherence to the cause of the poor, the downtrodden Harijans, and the common man of the Indian village, is indeed worthy of emulation. Through all the vicissitudes of time and power and fame, he kept before the vision of the Indian Congress the fundamental purpose for which it came into being the amelioration of the suffering of the poor. Uncrowned king of the land, he remained a friend of the poor; he lived for them, moved among them as one of them, and served them with all his heart. He saw God in them, and in their service wore out his body (Sivananda). As seen from what Gandhi had done and how people were inspired by him, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Starry Night And Van Gogh Analysis The Starry Night (fig.1), painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1889, and Fountain (fig. 2), created by Marcel Duchamp in 1914, are generally known as Modern Art. The professor Nalini Rao always taught her students about the importance of analyzing artworks by various viewpoints in order to appreciate underlying purposes of each artwork and how artworks are created, and The Starry Night and Fountain actually have both similarities and differences. While both Vincent van Goghand Marcel Duchamp used new methods for depicting and reinterpreting the world, they differ in their reasons why they used new techniques. Duchamp is the pioneer of Modern Art because his artwork is more related to modern society than Van Gogh s. One similarity between Vincent van Gogh and Marcel Duchamp is that both sought new approaches to depicting the world. The Starry Night has distortions of nature by expressive use of colors. For example, Van Gogh depicted a moon and star filled night sky, but the crescent moon is as bright as the sun, and eleven stars painted by green, yellow, white, and pink are similar to jewels. Moreover, the Milky Way that looks a large swirling cloud gives individuals strong and powerful impressions of Van Gogh s uniqueness. As shown above, Van Gogh distorted nature by using various colors, and no one before Van Gogh depicted landscape energetically through colors according to Nathalia BrodskaГЇa (88). In a similar way to Van Gogh s new approaches to art making, Marcel Duchamp used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the United States and the Soviet Union began to normalise their relationship, many people in the Soviet republics began to feel that they no longer needed to be part of the Soviet Union for protection against a military threat. President Richard Nixon and Soviet Premier Leonid Brezhnev began this process of dГ©tente in an attempt to pull back from the threat of nuclear war and to begin increased trade between the United States and the Soviet Union. DГ©tente made people feel safer as it decreased the threat of nuclear war and included formal agreements on arms control and the security of Europe. However, dГ©tente contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union as some of the Soviet republics decided that they no longer needed to be part of the Soviet Union for protection against a military threat. Therefore, they gradually realised that if they did not need that protection, then they did not need the Soviet Union at all. Consequently, dГ©tente planted the seeds for some of the Soviet republics to dream of independence. This photograph is the mark of the Polish Trade Union, Solidarity. There are even reports of strains that are resistant to Vancomycin. If this development in MRSA continues, it is greatly feared that we will run out of defenses against MRSA. However, doctors and scientists are strategizing and researching to prevent the development of MRSA. One strategy that is currently in clinical trial stages is the treatment of simple CA MRSA cases with off patent antimicrobial medications. This will limit the MRSA bacterias exposure to the more commonly relied upon medications and hopefully reduce the chance of it developing more resistance. Current research may even change how MRSA is treated in the future. Scientists are analyzing how the MRSA bacteria works in attempts to develop new and better medications in its treatment. Scientists have recently discovered Phenol Soluble Modulin (PSM) Proteins in MRSA bacteria. It is believed that these proteins play a key role in the strength and severity of MRSA infections. The PSM proteins destroy white blood cells and most other immune cells. Without these cells the body cannot protect itself from MRSA. Scientists today hope to create a drug that can prevent the PSM proteins from functioning. If this can be accomplished, the severity and threat of MRSA will be greatly ... It is almost guaranteed that when I am introduced to a lady who appears to be a grandmother, the first thing out of her mouth is, Oh My Goodness! I love your hair! So I feel pretty special when that happens. No other hair color can boast that like we can. Another great benefit of being a redhead is that people automatically assume that you are a comedian. You can say something and people will think it is the funniest thing on the planet. People look at redheads and laugh all the time. I like to think they are laughing with us and not at us though. But this puts a lot of pressure on us because we have to provide the world with comedy or else it will fall into oblivion perhaps. Probably not, but it is nice getting recognition from people that we have a sense of humor. The last benefit is the holidays that we get. If you are a ginger and don t know about National Kiss a GInger day, then you have been missing out. One day in the whole year where someone kisses you because you have red hair. How incredible is that? A free kiss because you were born with red hair. In my opinion this is one of the greatest benefits of being a ginger. Specific Purpose: I would like to inform people on the 1919 Black Sox Scandal in Major League Baseball. Introduction Attention Getter: In 2008 the New York Giants won the Super Bowl by defeating the previously unbeaten New England Patriots in what most sports fans call one of the greatest upsets in sports history. What would you think if I told you the Patriots lost the game on purpose? They didn t, but in 1919 eight members of the Chicago White Sox conspired to intentionally lose the World Series against the Cincinnati Reds in what people now refer to as the Black Sox Scandal. Speaker Credibility: My uncle is a huge sports buff and he s often talked to me about this specific scandal. I remember growing up and still hearing how upset this scandal made him. Relate the topic to the audience: You all probably have watched sports at some time and it should be very interesting for you guys to know about some drama within the sports industry. Specific purpose: Today I want to share with you the story of the black sox scandal of 1919. The first being that he suffered paralyzation in some parts of his body after surgeries to remove a rare cancer that he had. He is now disabled and experiences what he says is discrimination and humiliation. He wants to create an awareness of this problem. The next reason he gives is there are no Disney movies depicting a princess with a disability and he believes that now is the time for Disney to consider creating a princess with a disability because there are now more than ever so many people with disabilities. He wants Disney to get the message that Disabled people have rights and are part of the world. I agree with what AleXsandro Palombo says about Disney, they have not had any movies with a disabled princess and I believe now is the time. A chipping swing is more restricted to just the shoulders and arms. Your body remains still. What makes a good chip shot is a proper setup and swing. Whenever you set up to make a chip shot you need to use an open stance . Keep your feet and hips opened slightly toward your target. It s natural for this stance to feel a bit odd at first. However, it s necessary for giving your arms the room they need to swing through your target. When you make a chip shot and use a square stance, your wrists are at risk of unhinging. To do this, a theory of punctuated equilibrium is explored, based on the emergence and recession of policy issues from the transnational policy agenda. The primary goal of this paper is to define the current equilibrium and how it is punctuated. The secondary goal is to examine what forces drive the punctuated equilibrium, so that we might predict punctuation in the future. This interdependence has made it possible for Western European states to transfer policy responsibilities to the transnational level in order to shape, manage, control, take advantage of, and keep pace with the modern world. To the extent that transnational authorities attempt to control, either directly or indirectly, the economies and social welfare of its members, the study of policymaking is a process worth studying. • 23. The Disappearance Of Childhood Summary The Disappearance of Childhood Summary In The Disappearance of Childhood, Neil Postman presents his ideas on the social artifact that is childhood. While he states that childhood is a recent invention, Postman declares that childhood is also disappearing and eroding at an alarming rate. Postman opens the book by observing that children s clothes are becoming harder to distinguish from that of an adult, and that this supports the fact that the line between a childand an adult is becoming blurred. While the Greeks foreshadowed the idea of childhoodand invented the concept of schools and educating the young, the Romans made the connection between shame and childhood. Postman points out that there must be shame in order to have childhood, and continues to use this concept throughout the reading. However when the Roman empire collapses and the Middle Ages take over, shame disappears along with literacy, education, and as a consequence, childhood. In the Middle Ages, shame was not a concept, and secrets were not kept from children, because everything was learned orally. This changes when the printing press is invented. The printing press lead amplified individualism, which eventually applied to children, allowing them to think logically and form their own opinions. There developed a division... • 25. Water Pollution And Its Effects On The Environment Water covers almost 75% of the earth s surface and is undoubtedly our most precious natural resource that exists on our planet today. There won t be any living organism on our planet without water. Water Pollution occurs when a body of water is severely affected due to addition of large amount of materials to the water.[Missouri Botanical Garden] Pollutions such as sewage and fertilizers contain nutrients such as nitrates and phosphates. At high levels, nutrients can over stimulate the growth of aquatic plants and algae. Excessive growth of these types of organisms consequently clogs our waterways, use up dissolved oxygenas they decompose, and block light to deeper waters.[David Krantz] This could be very harmful to aquatic organisms as it affects the respiration ability of fish and other creatures of the sea. Pollution is also caused when silt and other suspended solids, such as soil, washoff plowed fields, construction and logging sites, urban areas, and eroded river banks when it rains.[David Krantz] Pollution in the form of organic material enters waterways in many different forms as sewage, as leaves and grass clippings, or as runoff from livestock feedlots and pastures. When natural bacteria and protozoan in the water break down this organic material, they begin to use up the oxygen dissolved in the water. Many types of fish and bottom dwelling animals cannot survive when levels of dissolved oxygen drop below two to five parts per million. When this occurs, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Depending on the quantity/size of furniture/fixtures that need to be removed, contractors will typically charge between $15 and $50 per hour. Customers can cut out this cost if they agree to have the items removed prior to the contractor arriving. However, if it is agreed upon and the items are not removed, the contractor will usually charge 150% of the normal rate, because this will add additional time to the job, causing him to possibly run behind schedule for another job, and he schedules jobs based on time estimates. When I walking the class the children were finishing up with lunch. After lunch they have 30 minute of free play. The teacher asked me to pick an area where I wanted to observe the children and I picked the dramatic playarea. In dramatic playchildren pretend to be someone or something different than themselves. Dramatic play can be a great developmental learningtool because it allows children to develop skills in areas such as abstract thinking, literacy, math, natural and social studies, specially helps them to socialize with other children. The dramatic play area was located in the right corner of the class. The dramatic play area consisted of a small kitchen and pretend food, a cash register with cash and coins, multicultural dolls and strollers, and a closet with dress up clothes, hats, scarves, feathers, purses, and shoppings bags. At the time of my observation, I was able to witness free play of two girls and two boys, a third girl was on and off of the dramatic play area. I stayed in the corner where I had access to the entire dramatic play area. I was able to hear and see everything without disturbing and/or making the children uncomfortable by my presence there. First, the reading states that the mussel can attach itself to a ship s bottom or can survive in the ballast water and carried to the North America. The Contributions Of Science And Science As a contemporary writer observing the timeline of modern science, and all the abridgments made to it over the past few centuries, one cannot help but ponder upon the course that science took to reach what it is today. We are aware of the pioneers of science such as Newton, Lavoisier, Stahl, Joule, Maxwell, Einstein etc, and all of the groundbreaking contributions these extraordinary individuals made to mould scienceinto what we today know it to be. Over the course of History of Science, we have examined the various factors influencing the life and work of various men of science, and how the society, polity and religion of their time affected their contributions to science. We began with the classical elegance of Newtonian Enlightenment, drifted onto the chaotic happenings of the Industrial Revolution, glanced past the Romantic Movement and finally came upon the Einsteinian revelation. Through the course of the 300 or so years the aforementioned periods encompassed, we have seen scientific theories envisioned, published, critiqued, lauded and destroyed. Time is our witness as we analyze the many edits made to the holy text of science, and keeping in mind the irony of the previous sentence , I attempt to answer the question, Is Modern Science a result of a few abrupt revolutions, or is it a carefully cumulative accumulation of knowledge ? The Functionalist Perspective On Emotions According to the functionalist perspective on emotions, emotions are defined as an attempt by the individual to establish, maintain, change, or terminate the relation between the environment and the individual (Frijda, 1986). Thus, emotions are conceptualized as being flexible, contextually bound, and goal directed, and are critical for guiding interpersonal relations (Butler, Lee, Gross, 2007; Campos, Mumme, Kermoian, Campos, 1994). Effects Of Anatomical Parts Of Ephedra Sinica Ephedra (Ma Huang) is a genus of plant, most commonly derived from the dried herbaceous stems of the Chinese species, Ephedra sinica (Figure 1a and 1b). The natural plant source produces six Ephedra alkaloids, chemicals which are considered to be the active constituents of the plant; ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, norephedrine, norpseudoephedrine, methylephedrine and methylpsuedoephedrine (Figure 2) (Veitch et al., 2013). The presence and concentrations of these alkaloids depends primarily on the plant species, origin, growing conditions, and the raw plant material processing, with most species largely containing ephedrineand pseudoephedrine (Haller et al., 2004). Metabolomic studies have shown that anatomical parts of Ephedrasinica have different therapeutic pharmacological effects and for this reason, have been used for different purposes in medicine. This was demonstrated by Lv et al (2015), who used GC MS to compare the concentrations of Ephedra sinica in the stems (Ma Huang) and in the roots (Mahuanggen) of different plant samples. It was concluded that the pharmacologically important ephedrine alkaloids were present in higher quantities in the stems. This is why Ephedra herb, sold as dry stems of Ephedra sinica, has been used as a commercial source of ephedrine alkaloids worldwide, in particular Europe and America (Lee 2011).
