Group Voting Behavior Analysis
Group Voting Behavior The two major parties in the United States political system, Democratic and
Republican, have many the differences about the policies and the political positions such as taxes, the
role of government, gun control, gay rights, immigration, etc. Those differences are influenced by all
of the American people s political ideology in society. Absolutely, every single person in the United
States have their own choices for those problems. Therefore, each party has its special groups that
support for their policies, and it also shows the people s expectation on each party. In race and
ethnicity group, most non Hispanic whites have a tendency to vote for Republican party while African
Americans, Latinos and Asian likely vote for the Democratic party. The reason why having this
division because Republican believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, has
opposed in gay marriage and abortion, those people who are Christian and Catholic also against this.

People with higher income will have different expectation on government than lower income.
Obviously, lower wage earners should vote for the party that help them economically. The Democrats
favor a higher minimum wage, protection of union rights, higher tax rates for higher income brackets
and medical care for working class, which meets lower income expectation. They support higher taxes
on the rich should pay for public programs, which is most of higher income opposing. On the other
hand, Republicans want to reduce tax on the rich, limit union rights, oppose Obamacare, against
raising the minimum wage because it will hurt business (Democrats). Both lower income and higher

Technology And The Field Of Education Essay
With improved living conditions, healthcare, communication, and evolution of human intelligence,
technological advancement in the world today has grown to unprecedented levels. For example, as a
result of technology, patients can remotely interact with medics located in different parts of the world
through telehealth/telemedicine. In the field of education, students do not necessarily need to visit
libraries to access books. There are several soft copies of books online that they can access from the
comfort of their desktop computers, laptops, or even mobile phones. On a more advanced level,
learning does not necessarily have to occur only through reading books and other traditionally
accepted academic sources. The internet is awash with educational information that is typically the
most up to date source. In her article Project Classroom Makeover, Davidson discusses the potential
shift in paradigm presented by technological advancement in the field of education. She argues that
with technological advancement, it is no longer necessary to have students sit in class and wait to be
guided, instructed, and examined by experts. On the other side, Sherry Turkle discusses the human
machine interaction in her work Selections from Alone Together: Why We Expect More from
Technology and Less from Each Other as an aspect of the changing paradigm. Nafisi s article
Selection from Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books then presents a society deficient of
modern technology. The

Media Concentration Is More Sensitive Than The Largest...
Nevertheless, these changes in the instrument point in the right direction, improving some of the
deficiencies mentioned earlier. The new measurement, for example, assigns more weight to criteria
such as pluralism and media concentration. The questionnaire section on Pluralism and editorial
independence includes, for the first time, the following questions, all on a scale from 1 to 10.:
D.2 Do media reflect the range of opinions among members of the public?
D.3 Do public media provide coverage of and access by all political currents?
D.4 Is investigative journalism developed enough to uncover matters of significance?
D.9 To what extent do radio and television stations with the largest audiences present independent and
critical news?
Question D.11 on media concentration is more sensitive than before, since respondents are asked to
evaluate it from a scale from 1 to 10. Moreover, another question is included to assess economic
concentration in general and possible conflicts of interests:
D.12 What proportion of general interest media is owned by companies with other interests in non
media sectors of the economy? (5 if 50%; 10 if 100%)
The questionnaire introduces several questions on self censorship:
D.7 Do journalists practice self censorship for fear of the following consequences?
a) Civil lawsuits or criminal prosecution
b) Professional reprisals or attacks on reputation
c) Threats to physical safety of the journalist or his family and friends, to his

Physics Archimedes Principle Lab Report
Measurement of Mass, Volume, and Density through
Archimedes Principle
Overview:
The purpose of this experiment was to measure the density of a solid and a liquid using Archimedes
principle. Archimedes is one of the greatest inventors and mathematicians of all time. The principle
we used in this experiment was discovered when Archimedes stepped into a full bath tub. Using
Archimedes principle, we were able to determine the density of a lead rod, water, and an unknown
liquid.
Physical Data: Name | MW (g/mol) | ρ (g/cm3) | bp (˚C) | mp (˚C) | water | 18.01 g/mol | 1 g/cm3 | 100
˚C | 0 ˚C | lead | 207.2 g/mol | 11.34 g/cm3 | 1749˚C | 327.5˚C |

The spring constant that was found from the previous lab was 0.023 N/m. In part B of the experiment,
we were able to determine the change in mass of the lead rod from the air to the water and the volume
of the lead rod. After conducting five trials, we were able to find the change in mass of the lead rod by
using the spring constant formula of F=kx. After modifying the formula to solve for mass, we were
able to find the change in mass for each trial by multiplying the spring constant and displacement of
the lead rod in air versus water, then dividing by gravity. The average change in mass was found to be
9.38X10 4g. Once we had found the mass of the lead rod, we were able to find calculate the volume of
the lead rod by modifying the buoyancy force formula to solve for the volume of the object. Find that
formula, we divided the mass of the lead rod by the density of water as shown in the table of literature.
The average volume of the lead rod was found to be 3.422 cm3. In part C of this experiment, we were
able to determine the change in mass of the lead rod from air to an unknown liquid and the density of
the unknown liquid. We used the same method in part B to calculate the change in mass of the lead
rod. The average change in mass of the lead rod in the unknown liquid was found to be ... Since the

What Role Did The Art Of Sculpture Play In Romanesque Church
The name Hagia Sophia actually means Holy Wisdom . Hagia Sophia was built in Istanbul which was
formerly known as Constantinople. Hagia Sophia was built over 1400 years ago in 537 BC by
Emperor Justinian I. Hagia Sophia was built to replace the old church that was torched and burned
down. Hagia Sophia was a Greek Orthodox Church. The church incorporates Christian beliefs with
murals of Jesus Christs but also hanging from the ceiling are Islamic writings. The way the structural
lighting of church was designed, it creates a halo type effect giving a heavenly feel. The sunlight
reflects off of glass and gold which lightens the famous Hagia Sophia dome. Hagia Sophia remained a
church until 1453 when the Turks converted the church into a mosque. 2. What role did the art of

In the sense that Romanesque churches lacked light, the gothic style churches required much more
lighting where it would feel as if the lighting was coming from the heavens above. In addition to, the
gothic style incorporated less heavy walls but instead, the use of lighter fly buttresses used to support
church or cathedral walls. The flying buttresses were of double use. They provided structural support
but incorporated another form art found amongst a lot of gothic style cathedrals. Gothic style also
replaced the hefty walls of the Romanesque art by using columns that were much thinner. Gothic style
also introduced the Rose Windows as seen on many gothic cathedrals. Rose windows were just stain
classes that form massive, colorful windows seen in the front of many gothic cathedrals and churches.
The gothic style often had many more naturalistic sculptures in comparison to the Romanesque art
style. The sculptures decorated the walls of cathedrals in massive numbers. The idea of the gothic
style was to create a less heavy atmosphere in the sense of lighting and

Intertextuality Of Love
Throughout the ages, many have tried to comprehend the human experience of love and its ineffable
and mysterious force that leads us to complete euphoria or utter despair, with songs, paintings, and
stories. In Plato s Symposium, six guest including Socrates, tackle and attempt to define love amongst
each other. With each attempt, and our study of Johns gospel, the intertextuality between the
symposium and John 15:8 17 helps one better understand the portrait that John portrays of Jesus as the
ultimate lover and only way to being fully complete.
In the Farewell Discourse of Johns gospel, Jesus speaks of his abiding love and ultimate
commandment given to his disciples. He tells his disciples, As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love... I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be
complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you (John 15:9 12). This guide he
gives to his disciples, as a way to live in relation to each other, can connect with that of Phaedrus idea
of love. In the Symposium, Phaedrus speaks of love as a great god who gives the greatest goods and
there is no greater good given to a boy than a lover. The lover is the guidance, to hold accountable the
boy, just as we are held accountable by Jesus. He gives us this commandment of simply loving each
other as he loves us and the Father him. Just as the Lover in Phaedrus definition of love, the Lover is
guiding the boy to be his companion and to love

Versailles contribute to the start of World war II? The Treaty took away much of Germany s land,
gridlocked the German military, forced war reparations on the German government, and ordered them

Annotation Of Sappho s Fragment 16
The Greeks produced some of the greatest literature in the Archaic Age; stories were dauntless,
delightful, and passionate whilst sustaining a worldly and rich composition. Poetry became one of the
arts that grew favorable to the citizens of Greece due to the mellow melody of the art while preserving
the significant principles and values of their culture. The poem Fragment 16, written by the illustrious
poet of the Archaic Age ca. 600 BCE, Sappho, expresses the admiration of Anactoria and her
commendable beauty. This poem, translated by Jim Powell, is an example of one of Sappho s
renowned lyric poetry, demonstrating the intricate practice of love and passion. Lyric poetry is the art

In the Archaic Age, beauty is sought by the citizens of Greece all throughout the various forms of
artistic expression. For example, Greek sculptures before the Archaic Age were widely influenced by
the mesopotamians and egyptians, with rigid postures and ceremonious gestures. However, in the
Archaic Age, we see a little more change throughout the art of sculpting in Greece. Greek sculptors
began incorporating lively, athletic, and healthy attributes to the work of art, such as the Anavysos
Kouros, (page 52) a Greek korari sculpture based by the Archaic Age. Health and beauty in art was
commenced in the Hellenic Era, almost as much as the religious aspect of the art. In addition,
Architecture grew of the idea of beauty and beautiful buildings. Greek temples became very intricate
with design and beautifully delicate with aesthetic ethics incorporated into their fundamental
principles. Developments such as the post beam triangle construction, pediments, cornice, and
stylobate was implemented to integrate beauty into their architecture. An example of this art would be
the Temple of Aphaia, (page 49) Aegina, created in 510

A Deeper Look Into Child Welfare Services
A Deeper Look into Child Welfare Services

In the United States, there are programs designed to protect children. There are foster care, group
homes, and other services for children safety. The Child Protective Services in Alabama has the sole
purpose of helping children in cases of neglect and abuse (Child Protective Services). These services
include foster care programs where children who are at risk of harm from birth family, or who suffers
from mental, emotional, or physical issues. These services provide care to all children who meet the
state qualifications and removed from their current home (Introduction of Foster Care). The foster care

With the media portraying foster care as a negative solution to a very serious issue, does not work well
with getting children out of their current situations. No one really exhibits how the children feel in
foster care in the media, but studies show, children in the foster care system may not view their
situation as negative. These children may have a great experience in foster care, even though there are
a few flawed areas in the system. Their perception of foster care may be very different from the
workers of child protection services and the media s perception (Chapman, Wall, Barth, 2004;
Ellingsen, Stephens, Storksen, 2012; Fernandez, 2007; Jones Kruk, 2005). The children s perception
of foster care is the most important perception dince they are the ones who has to live in the system.
The Foster Care System
The foster care system in the United States is viewed negatively and the media portrays it as such. The
public only knows what the media tells them about the foster care system. The stereotypical views are
mostly what is thought the foster care system consisted of, not what goes on behind the scenes (Leber
LeCroy, 2012). The only people who would have a good insight on what goes on behind the scenes are
the people that are involved, which are the caregivers, the social workers, the biological families, and
the children. Their placements, relationships with their caregivers, and stability all had factors of how
the foster care system was

The Lottery, And Mansfield s Third Person Perspectives
A story is never without a point of view a perspective in which the story is foretold. This perspective
can come in a variety of forms, from first person, second person, to third person, with each shaping
the specifics and details of the background or characters of the tale. Further broken down into three
categories is the third person perspective, which ranges from omniscient, objective, to limited. To
understand the impact the differences in third person perspectives can make on a story and the reader s
understanding of it, a closer look at the readings of Jackson s The Lottery in third person objective and
Mansfield s Miss Brill in third person omniscient is in order. Overall, there s a similarity between the
two perspectives in how they capture and convey obvious information within the story. However, the
distinct disparity between the two becomes rather apparent as the actions of the characters become
focused upon. Jackson, The Lottery. Third Person, Objective. Kids receive rocks. Mansfield, Miss
Brill. Third Person, Omniscient. Drawing conclusions of individuals around her. Insight to her
thoughts. Fundamentally, both the third person objective and third person omniscient have the ability
to describe the actions and outward appearances of characters either known or unknown to the
protagonist. In the story of Miss Brill, the readers are presented an imagery of an everyday Sunday

Malcolm Gladwell s Blink
Can we know something without knowing how we know it? This is precisely the question that
Malcolm Gladwell sets out to ponder in his book Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking.
Looking at scientific experiments from laboratories nation wide, Gladwell explores the fascinating
phenomenon of thin slicing , or making snap judgments without consciously engaging in the decision
making process. These thin slices , Gladwell asserts, are surprisingly accurate sometimes even more
so than the decisions we make after long hours of careful consideration and reflection. One
particularly interesting question raised by this study is the implications it brings to bear on the process
of thought. Our brains, home to both our conscious and unconscious ... Show more content on

Gladwell calls for the acceptance of the notion that sometimes we can know something without
knowing how we know it, and he criticizes American culture for demanding that all knowledge by

to scientifically justify and foot note the process of the adaptive unconscious and thin slicing. What
bothers us so much about the notion of a thinking unconscious that even its most vocal advocate

Speech On Molecular Gastronomy
I What is molecular gastronomy?
A Definition
Ice sphere cocktails, grenadine sirop caviar and disappearing transparent raviolis are all examples of
Molecular gastronomy. This discipline is a mixture of physics and chemistry and is used to transform
the taste and the texture of food. We commonly use the term Molecular Gastronomy in order to
describe a new style of cuisine. Chefs now use tools from the science laboratory, and unusual
ingredients from the food industry to expend their culinary possibilities. Officially, it is the scientific
discipline that explains the chemical and physical transformations and mechanisms that occur while
cooking. It also studies the social, artistic and technical side of gastronomy.

Descriptive Essay On A Great Vacation
I was sitting on a hot steamy white sand beach where the ocean was washing into the shore. Cinque
Terre was a nice vacation spot to chill, relax, and go for a swim. Ninety Five degree weather all day
long, everyday. My family and I were staying in a small, no air conditioning house with only 3
bedrooms. During our sleep, we forget to close the windows so little lizards come into our house and
crawl up our walls. Cinque Terre is a great vacation spot for many family activities! Our first day in a
new country, I was having a great time so far! We ran down to the beach and swam for the whole day.
Some local people were hiking up the side of a mountain from the ocean. We noticed there was a large
platform that they created at three top. Us as a whole family wanted to adventure up to the platform to
see what all of the commotion was. Then as we reached the top of the cliff, people were jumping off
and diving, doing all sorts of tricks. We decided to jump as well, this was a fun activity for us. As we
continued hiking to a higher spot we found out that there was several different platforms on the
mountain. People even made a small rocky path for people to walk up to. The tallest platform was too
high for anyone to go on, but we went on the second highest one which was still very scary. On the top
of the mountain, we can see all around the town of Cinque Terre. Also when we looked down at the
clear sea water, we can see all the way to the bottom and see the white sand. Sometimes fish will stroll
by and we can see them swim around our area.
The next day in Cinque Terre was a beautiful day. The ocean waves were rolling in, the bright sun was
shining high. As we were exploring the town looking for activities to do, a friendly tourist came up to
us and told us all about the things him and his family has done for the past week. This gave us some
ideas. We were told to go hiking. Scuba Dive. Explore all the local towns. Or enjoy a nice day at the
beach. Since we have already spent time at the beach we decided to just walk around the many towns
and enjoy our last day their. As we were walking around one of the neighboring towns of Cinque
Terre, we remembered our local guide man told us about hiking. We found a small

Summary Of Salinger s The Rye
The Theme of Innocence in Salinger s Novel In today s world innocence is a difficult quality to
achieve and maintain because of the corruption that exists everywhere among us. Many say that
children are the most innocent of beings. However, a child can never be shielded by the danger and
risk that constantly encompasses them in our society today. Children are subjected to this world and
once they are exposed to the corruption it is difficult to maintain the innocence that they once
embodied. In J.D. Salinger s Catcher in the Rye there is an evident need and desire to preserve a sense
of innocence among the characters in a world that lacks innocence. Holden Caulfield, the main

Dimmesdale Rapture
INSERT WILDLY CLEVER TITLE HERE Many classic story arcs employ what, in ancient Greek
dramas, are called instances of deus ex machina, or god from the machine. In these stories, an
unforeseen factor arrives and offers an apparent solution to what would otherwise be an insoluble
problem. Toward the end of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, the Puritan minister
Dimmesdale seems to find such a resolution for the inner torment he has imposed on himself in
atonement for his affair with Hester. While Dimmesdale s emotions escalate toward rapture at the
suggestion of leaving his life of outward piety and private shame behind, he remains constrained by

This ambiguity parallels the way he relishes the chance to start anew, but refuses to appreciate the
woman who grants him this chance, the human light source. Dimmesdale identifies the sense of
luminosity he feels as something his pleasure threw upon him. The verb to throw recalls the biblical
verse of John 8:7 when Jesus instructs a group of men who are stoning a woman to death for adultery
that whoever is without sin should be the first to cast a stone. The joy Dimmesdale feels in this scene
delivers itself to him with a verb which the bible applies to punishment. Consideration of the justice
which has not been administered disrupts the revelry that lands over the trouble of his breast. Because
of the magnitude of his past sin, present joy hovers above his troubles, rather than eclipsing them. So
long as Dimmesdale fails to take public responsibility for his actions, he will never feel pure joy. The
trouble remains upon his breast, in the very place where his female accomplice was forced to bear the
public consequence of their shared action alone. Still, the illusion of total joy intensifies.
Without the impositions of any outside religious organization, Dimmesdale believes himself to be
entirely free, though his devout, masochistic past continues to manifest itself. The second sentence is
far longer than the first, illustrating Dimmesdale s growing comfort with the once alien joy of
freedom. Dimmesdale enjoys the exhilarating

The Problem Of Homelessness And Homelessness Essay
There is an ever growing number of homeless persons within our society. While it has become a
popular topic of discussion as to why people become homeless little discussion has occurred about the
homeless reintegrating back into society. Many steps must be taken in order for a homeless person to
be able to create and maintain a steady life. There must be an acknowledgment of the barriers that led
to homelessness. These barriers may be a numerous amount of things such as substance abuse,
personal trauma, unhealthy relationships, health problems, or unemployment. No matter the barrier,
goals need to be set and must be realistic. If the goals seem impossible to reach they will be. Finally,
there must be a commitment to following through with the set goals and a realization that this is an
ongoing process that will not change overnight.
There is a misinformed stigma of homelessness, which is that all homeless persons are in their
situation because of substance abuse or this is at least, in part, why they are unable to overcome
homelessness, and that all homeless persons are unemployed. While mental illness and chronic
substance abuse are the most common disabilities within homeless communities (Schutt, 2009) they
are not the only factors as to why an individual may become homeless. As mentioned above, personal
traumas, health problems, unhealthy relationships and lack of employment can lead to homelessness.
An alarming amount of veterans are now homeless due to coming home

Remember The Titans Character Analysis
Remember the Titans Group Dynamics
Remember the Titans looks at the beginning of integration, both racism and friendships of the team, as
they overcome prejudice. The movie starts, the head coach of the Titans is replaced by an African
American coach from North Carolina. Tensions arise when players of different races are forced
together on the same football team. Many of these tensions are eased during the two week training
camp, unites the team mates. As the football season progresses the team s success causes the
community to accept the changes of integration.
Herman Boone is a black man and head coach of the football team, his perfectionist tendencies come
across as tough. But his toughness is fair; he treats all his players equally whether they re black or
white. Boone s style of coaching is different than coach Bill Yoast, a white man, highly respected both
as a coach and member of the community. Yoast cares a great deal about his players, enough to stay
and work as the assistant coach when Boone is unexpectedly offered the head coaching position over

Issues in the Business World: An Anthropological Perspective Michael P. Lillis and Robert Guang
Tian Department of Business, Medaille College, New York Abstract: The significance of cultural
influence on business has been widely recognized in both academic and business circles. A number of
authors suggest that an anthropological approach is the most appropriate way to study cultural factors
and assess their impact on an organizational environment. This investigation draws attention to several
important cultural issues in business utilizing an anthropological perspective. It probes the relationship
between culture and human behavior, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anthropology, especially cultural anthropology, seeks to understand how and why peoples of the
world differ in various ways as well as how and why peoples of the world share certain similarities. It
is not at all unusual for people to assume that their own ways of thinking and acting are
unquestionably rational normal or human. Cultural anthropological study provides us a look at the
enormous variations in thinking and acting found in the world today due to the cultural differences
and at same time anthropological literature has documented many different solutions generated for
solving the same problems cross culturally. Therefore, anthropologists do more than simply document
the enormous variations in human cultures by identifying and describing the commonalities of humans
amid the great diversity, which are the regularities found in all cultural contexts regardless of how
different those contexts might appear at first glance (Ferraro, 2005). Anthropologists have traditionally
used a qualitative research approach to study human behaviors in different cultures. Such an approach
is well suited to many of the complex questions confronting researchers interested in quality and
culture. Qualitative research, more than just a set of data collection methods, is an approach that seeks
to understand events, activities, norms and values from the perspective of the people who are being
studied, anthropologists refer this way of research as the Emic approach. Qualitative

Percutaneous Medical Image And Ultrasound Image
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Objectives
It has been proved that ultrasound imaging is the main and primary device that is used as guidance for
percutaneous medical procedures (Gray 2006). However, poor needle tip localization needs to be
solved. Also, localize the needle tip in deep locations (`Cheung Rohling 2004) and slope insertion
angles (Edgombe Hocking 2010). Enhancing the needle visibility will lead to decrease procedures
failure.
Mohammad mentioned that in his studies in 2013, an ultrasound actuated needle with a transducer can
be visualized under ultrasound colour Doppler mode, which also, can reduce the force during needle
penetration process. However, the validity of the actuating needle in this study needs to be proved.

2.3. A biopsy and nervous system are mentioned in section 2.4. And 2.5. 2.6 And 2.7 sections are

types are illustrated in section 2.9. Finally, an ultrasound actuated needle device piezoelectric, and its
components are presented in Section 2.10.
2.1 Background
There are many clinical practices which involve skin percutaneous diagnosis and therapies. A thin tool
such needle, catheter, tissue ablation probe etc, is inserted into a tissue to reach a target (Abolhassani
et al., 2006). Take a biopsy from (breast, kidney, and liver), nerve block, drug delivery and blood
sampling, are some applications of percutaneous needle procedures (Bishoff et al. 1998). The accuracy
of needle insertion determines the efficiency of a percutaneous diagnosis or therapy (Youk et al.,
2007). According to Abolhassani et al., (2006), the type of application or procedure determines the
required accuracy of the procedures. For example, biopsy, anaesthesia, and brachytherapy, are
required accuracy of millimetres while in other producers such as eye, brain, ear, and foetus are
required much higher accuracy in nanometres. According to Kohn et al., (2000), the target could be in
the millimetre neighbourhood of another organ, nerve or vessel. Hence, needle insertion producers

The Theory Of The Discontinuity Effect Between Japan And...
A number of research have proven that people commonly assumed that intergroup relationships are
more competitive than of interindividual ones, and they also experience competitive intergroup
contacts more often in their daily lives. Kosuke Takemura and Masaki Yuki of Hokkaido University in
Sapporo, Japan conducted an experimental research to test the theory of the discontinuity effect
existing in East Asia as it does in the United States, wherein the participants played a 10 trial prisoner
s dilemma game repeatedly. They initially believed that if East Asians are collectivists, then a group of
East Asians should be more competitive than East Asians individually, and that the discontinuity effect
should be stronger than what was perceived in the United States. This study was an attempt to imitate
Insko et al. s experiment (1990) but using a Japanese sample. The purpose of this was revealed to be
to observe the cross cultural difference, or lack thereof, in the magnitude of the discontinuity effect
between Japan and the United States.
In the experiment, one hundred and sixty (134 male, 26 female) Japanese students from Hokkaido
University participated, which they were randomly drawn from a pool of roughly 1500 students who
volunteered. The experimenters compared the assessments made between two 3 person groups in an
intergroup condition with those made between two characters in the same condition. Hence, each
sessions required eight participants; two participated in the

Conservation Of Matter Lab
The objective of this lab was to use prior knowledge about the Law of Conservation of Matter and of
different types of chemical reactions in order to evaluate if aluminum disappears during the reaction
and copper appears. The reaction that occurred between Copper (II) Chloride and aluminum was a
single replacement reaction. Clear signs that a chemical reaction took place include heat
release/temperature change, color change, and formation of a precipitate. When a single element, in
this instance aluminum, replaces another element in a compound, copper, a single replacement
reaction occurs. A basic formula for these reactions is AB + C → AC + B.
The reaction between Copper (II) Chloride and aluminum has a formula that follows this basic single
replacement formula. Aluminum was able to replace copper during the reaction because it is higher on
the activity series. If aluminum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually, the percent is a good amount less than 100 because of multiple factors including transfer
between different lab tools and when an unfulfilled reaction takes place. In the case of this experiment,
copper most likely was lost between transfers of the Copper (II) solution, although loss was attempted
to be minimized. Also, after the reaction, the copper was filtered and some mass could have lost if the
reaction was not fully carried out and all of the copper did not precipitate out of the solution. But,
when the copper oxidized overnight on the heater, the reaction with oxygen added mass to the ending
mass of copper. These areas of losing and gaining mass throughout the procedure equaled out in the
end because the percent yield was very close to 100% as the actual yield was 0.7 grams of copper and
the theoretical yield was 0.71 grams of copper. If the copper did not oxidize, it is believed that the
percent yield would not have been as close to 100% as it was because the oxygen gave mass back that
was lost along the way of the

Amiri Baraka Soul Food
The argument of fact that Baraka was explaining is how black Americans have their own language and
their own characteristic food because a young Negro novelist mentions that there is a flaw with black
Americans. For example, the young novelist proclaimed that blacks neither have their own
characteristic food nor their own language and how many people do not know what soul food is. Also,
some slang terms have developed the names for soul food which creates the foods own uniqueness.

people thought how some of the food was made and prepared. Also, Baraka argument of fact

Vidal explains how it s the United States Governments fault because the crime spree would be
decreased. Vidal also believes that fighting against drugs is nearly as a big business as trying to stop
them because people always want what they can t have. By legalizing drugs will enable people easier
access to them but also, taking away the thrill of getting them. For example, giving people their wants
only makes the person lose less value of their excitement which has to do a big role in reverse
psychology. To confuse people of their wants and needs.
2. Vidal addresses my concerns because drug dealing and the mafia business will decrease rapidly and
there would not be as much crimes in the American society. Yes, Vidal does consider both sides of the
issue because he there is a combination of sin and money between the mafia and the American people.
Both of the combinations of sin and money are two most valuable things because are irresistible and it
has been repeated for many centuries. In addition, Vidal claims that forbidding people to do something
they hold in interest of will only cause the person to pursue their interest more.
3. The effect in Vidal last paragraph is that he tries to persuade the reader for a change because in time
things will only get worse if things don t change. The reasonable solution to America s drug problem
is unrealistic because people will pursue things they cannot

Human Resource Practices With Business Goals
In today s ever increasing competitive business environment, Human Resource practices with business
outcomes in mind is a necessary first step in aligning business goals with employee motives, a well
rounded compensation plan precedes attainment of these business goals(Martocchio 3). As can be seen
by this statement, compensation is a major concern for all players in the business world today. As a
matter of fact, if a company fails to properly manage their compensation package they will find
themselves being left behind by the competition. In particular, what exactly does being left behind in
compensation and benefits mean? It stands that other companies will have an advantage in attracting
high performers who can create an impact for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Concerning this highly important subject of fair and equal compensation to motivate employees, a fair
and equitable compensation system should be free of bias which can only serve to increase profits for
a company verse a substandard compensation package which can only result in undeniable failure of
such a company. By the same token, this can serve to attract employees that can truly make a
difference for the company and it s bottom line. What is more, a fair system can serve to add to the
perceived distributed justice of that company. Theories of distributive justice seek to specify what is
meant by a just distribution of goods among members of society (Internet Encyclopedia of
Philosophy). Notably, if an employee witnesses lower level performer s receiving higher
compensation than their own. Than that employee is likely to grow resentment against the company
and its compensation packages. Thus, this may cause a high performer to leave elsewhere where they
will receive improved compensation. In particular, companies would want to avoid such resentment
because it will lead to a less motivated workforce and talent pool. By the same token, if the employee
is an especially high performer the chances of that employee leaving are even greater because he or
she will value their pay to the amount of effort applied. Hence, if a company wants to retain and keep
great performers then the company needs to attract employees that can make a difference through a

Sleet Vs Ice Storm
The ice storms start out, begins, with warm air and some layers of cold. Then as the rain freezes as it is
falling from warm air to cold air, everything melts as it falls, and when it hits the ground it attaches
itself as water and it freezes. Soon everything, will be covered with ice, power lines, roads, bridges,
and trees. Then we have a good ole ice storm, which around here these up or down hill travels aren t

Federalists vs. Anti-Federalists

POS 442 American Political Tradition
12 October, 2006
During the period between its proposal in September 1787 and ratification in 1789, the United States
Constitution was the subject of numerous debates. The contending groups consisted of Federalists,
those who supported ratification, and Anti Federalists, those opposed to the constitution. Each group
published a series of letters known as the Federalist and Anti Federalist Papers. The Anti Federalist
papers objected to provisions of the proposed constitution while the Federalist Papers defended the
rationale behind the document. Anti Federalist objections included that; the United States was too

In what is considered the first anti federalist paper, Brutus writes: In a republic, the manners,
sentiments, and interests of the people should be similar. If this be not the case, there will be a
constant clashing of opinions; and the representatives of one part will be continually striving against
those of the other. This will retard the operations of government, and prevent such conclusions as will
promote the public good. This clash of ideas, opinions and lifestyles, he argued, did not lend itself to
any overarching federal government. He continues: The United States includes a variety of climates.
The productions of the different parts of the union are very variant, and their interests, of consequence,
diverse. Their manners and habits differ as much as their climates and productions; and their
sentiments are by no means coincident. The laws and customs of the several states are, in many
respects, very diverse, and in some opposite; each would be in favor of its own interests and customs,
and, of consequence, a legislature, formed of representatives from the respective parts, would not only
be too numerous to act with any care or decision, but would be composed of such heterogenous and
discordant principles, as would constantly be contending with each other (Anti Federalist 1). The
Federal Farmer adds: Different laws, customs, and opinions exist in the different states, which by a
uniform system of laws would be

Medical Errors And Health Care
Every day, millions of people enter some type of health care facility seeking medical treatment. They
go to these places because they trust the physicians, nurses, and all other medical personnel are there
to provide them with adequate, quality care with hopes that they will be discharged in a healthier state.
Inadvertently, each day millions of people entering these facilities and experiencing more
complications than expected due to some type of medical error. Medical errors are becoming more and
more frequent every day and its costing patients more than ever. Medical errors have become one of
the major focuses of the health care industry since the Institute of Medicine released its report in the
year 1999, The Err Is Human. During that time there was an estimated ninety eight thousand people
dying a year in hospitals due to medical errors. Naturally this struck fear into people and caused many
to question a lot of things being done in health care facilities. According to more recent studies, it has
been noted that as many four hundred and forty four thousand people die each year from a preventable
medical error. That is only the death toll as a result of a medical error, not the actual number of
individuals that endure a medical error each year. With statistic numbers like these, health care
facilities are sacrificing large numbers of patients that equal out to the number people within fairly
large cities and states. With this number of people dying alone as a result of

How Is Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead
Parody, Pastiche and Their Contribution to Configuring the Theme of Identity in Tom Stoppard s play
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is written by Tom Stoppard. It is a parody for the
Shakespearean play, Hamlet. The play starts with the two major characters, Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern flipping a coin. Rosencrantz always won the game and Guildenstern was trying to
understand the laws of mathematics. Even from the beginning of the play we are told that Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern are called Ros and Guil. This fact meant that they are pop culture representants and
it is a reduction of the Shakespearean play. From the title it can be seen the fact that they were dead
from the beginning (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). They also ... Show more content on

It satirized the Elizabethan play through characters and how they act and even through the fact that
now the play centers on Ros and Guil. When the other Shakespearean characters are introduced, the do
not appear like in Hamlet , but they are puppets, without life, or personality. They did not have much
significance in the play. Now they are minor characters which used the two main characters for their
own purpose. Gertrude wanted to understand what happened to her son and Claudius also used them
to kill Hamlet. Ros and Guil were their servants because they responded to the call of Claudius and
Gertrude. Hamlet was also a minor character here. Like in Shakespeare s play he followed his own
interest, but here Ros and Guil were sent to understand his plans. The parody here came from the fact
that the most major characters from Shakespeare s play are now minor and the minor characters are
major. The tragic effect from Hamlet is now given to clowns, Ros and Guil, which are stupid
characters; they do not know who they are. It is an exaggeration of the human condition and this
makes a play a tragicomedy. Like Hamlet tried to understand the meaning of life and death in the
original play, now Ros and Guil tried to do

The Causes Of Firebrand Storms
Firebrand storms are understood as the only mechanism that can initiate a spot fire at long distances
from the fire front. The surface area of the firebrands play an important role in speeding of fire via
firebrand. In this paper, the surface area of 1400 firebrands was measured via image processing
techniques and then, the uncertainty of the measurement is calculated. It was found that the mean,
variance and skewness of the projected area are 3.90, 41.01 and 6.62 respectively. Moreover, the
standard and combined uncertainties in measuring the skewness are 0.17 and 0.25 cm2 respectively.
Large open fires threaten lives and properties worldwide. In the United States, only in 2016, over one
million fires were reported which has caused 3390 civilian death and 10.6 million dollars property loss
[1]. In open fires, three mechanisms have been renown for spreading of fire: (1) direct flame contact,
(2) radiant and convective heat flux, and (3) firebrands. A 2008 study found that the direct flame and
radiant/convective heat flux mechanism is relatively weak and ultimately incapable of initiating
another fire when the distance is more than 100 feet [2]. Therefore, the first two mechanisms are
conceivably less dangerous with distance. On the other hand, firebrands are capable of initiating spot
fires miles away from the fire line. These flying hot particles can be either burning combustible
materials (woods) or high temperature non combustible materials (metals) depending on their origin at
which they have been lofted. Given both the firebrands ignition capabilities at great distances as well
as the diversity of the firebrands origins [3], the natural problem culminates around the firebrands
potential for catastrophic destruction. The lethality of a firebrand depends on various parameters such
as mass, projected area and lying distance. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct experiments and
measure the above mentioned parameters. This papers addresses the measurement of the projected
area (the measurand) and the uncertainty in this measurement.
Numerous tests to generate firebrands in different conditions have been performed at Insurance
Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS) located in South Carolina.

To Serve God And Wal-Mart Analysis
In Bethany Moreton s book To Serve God and Wal Mart: The Making of Christian Free Enterprise,
dutiful employees of Wal Mart praise the comfortable, familial, and friendly atmosphere at work.
These attitudes are no accidental, however: Moreton asserts that Wal Mart utilized gendered notions in
order to structure a new sexual hierarchy onto the workplace. Wal Mart s successful exploitation of
business techniques such as altering the perception of women s work in the home versus at work,
reinforcing masculinities through normalized displays and gendered spectacles, and asking for
personal sacrifice from workers for the good of the family (and thus the business) along gender lines
all compounded to adjust and confirm notions of gender, race, ... Show more content on

Indeed, service labor was often viewed as women s work , which directly challenged the authority and
the masculinity of men. With women flooding the service sector, the meekness of Jesus and
Christianity did not fit in with ideals of masculinity, independence, and power and thus posed an
ethical problem. In order to subvert this, a new trend of servant leadership began, with men acting as
transitory and moving managers, and women acting as long term low wage workers. Instead of
focusing upon the managers labor, the focus was placed squarely upon the natural prerogatives of men
as men, not as managers , reinforcing a hegemonic and sexual chain of command promoting the
masculinity, autonomy, and skill of men. Subsequently, these men became symbolic heads of house,
effectively owning the labor of their employees. In this way, the man could remain the master of his
small world , effectively translating his dominion of influence from the household to the aisles of Wal
Mart. Furthermore, Moreton states that prominent philosophy must explain how the authority of men
has increased with service sector work in order to contain the threat posed by the effeminate , the
androgynous , and sissified men. For instance, a female clerk might impend the masculinity of men,
conversely, a female clerk working deferentially

Comparing the Supernatural in William Shakespeare s...
Comparing the Supernatural in William Shakespeare s Hamlet and Macbeth
In the time of William Shakespeare there was a strong belief in the existence of the supernatural.
Therefore, the supernatural is a recurring theme in many of Shakespeare s plays. In two such plays,
Hamlet and Macbeth, the supernatural is an integral part of the structure of the plot. It provides a
catalyst for action, an insight into character, and an augmentation of the impact of many key scenes.
The supernatural appears to the audience in many varied forms. In Hamlet there appears perhaps the
most notable of the supernatural forms, the ghost. However, in Macbeth, not only does a ghost appear,
but also a floating dagger, witches, and prophetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamlet, having no suspicion of the ghost after the production by the players, encounters the ghost next
in his mother s room. In this scene the ghost makes an appearance to whet Hamlet s almost blunted
purpose (III.iv.126). Hamlet is now convinced of the ghost and he no longer harbors any suspicion. He
now listens to it, Speak to her, Hamlet (III.iv.130). The supernatural is the guiding force behind
Hamlet. The ghost asks Hamlet to seek revenge for the King s death and Hamlet is thus propelled to
set into action a series of events that ends in his own death.
The supernatural occurs four times during the course of Macbeth. It occurs in all the appearances of
the witches, in the appearance of Banquo s ghost, in the apparitions with their prophecies, and in the
air drawn dagger that guides Macbeth towards his victim. Of the supernatural phenomenon evident in
Macbeth the witches are perhaps the most important. The witches represent Macbeth s evil ambitions.
They are the catalysts that unleash Macbeth s evil aspirations. Macbeth believes the witches and
wishes to know more about the future so after the banquet he seeks them out at their cave. He wants to
know the answers to his questions regardless of whether the consequence is violent and destructive to
nature. The witches promise to answer and, following Macbeth s wishes, they add further unnatural

  • 3. Technology And The Field Of Education Essay With improved living conditions, healthcare, communication, and evolution of human intelligence, technological advancement in the world today has grown to unprecedented levels. For example, as a result of technology, patients can remotely interact with medics located in different parts of the world through telehealth/telemedicine. In the field of education, students do not necessarily need to visit libraries to access books. There are several soft copies of books online that they can access from the comfort of their desktop computers, laptops, or even mobile phones. On a more advanced level, learning does not necessarily have to occur only through reading books and other traditionally accepted academic sources. The internet is awash with educational information that is typically the most up to date source. In her article Project Classroom Makeover, Davidson discusses the potential shift in paradigm presented by technological advancement in the field of education. She argues that with technological advancement, it is no longer necessary to have students sit in class and wait to be guided, instructed, and examined by experts. On the other side, Sherry Turkle discusses the human machine interaction in her work Selections from Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and Less from Each Other as an aspect of the changing paradigm. The new measurement, for example, assigns more weight to criteria such as pluralism and media concentration. The questionnaire section on Pluralism and editorial independence includes, for the first time, the following questions, all on a scale from 1 to 10.: D.2 Do media reflect the range of opinions among members of the public? D.3 Do public media provide coverage of and access by all political currents? D.4 Is investigative journalism developed enough to uncover matters of significance? D.9 To what extent do radio and television stations with the largest audiences present independent and critical news? Question D.11 on media concentration is more sensitive than before, since respondents are asked to evaluate it from a scale from 1 to 10. Moreover, another question is included to assess economic concentration in general and possible conflicts of interests: D.12 What proportion of general interest media is owned by companies with other interests in non media sectors of the economy? • 5. Physics Archimedes Principle Lab Report Measurement of Mass, Volume, and Density through Archimedes Principle Overview: The purpose of this experiment was to measure the density of a solid and a liquid using Archimedes principle. Archimedes is one of the greatest inventors and mathematicians of all time. The principle we used in this experiment was discovered when Archimedes stepped into a full bath tub. Using Archimedes principle, we were able to determine the density of a lead rod, water, and an unknown liquid. Physical Data: Name | MW (g/mol) | ρ (g/cm3) | bp (˚C) | mp (˚C) | water | 18.01 g/mol | 1 g/cm3 | 100 ˚C | 0 ˚C | lead | 207.2 g/mol | 11.34 g/cm3 | 1749˚C | 327.5˚C | Equations: Spring ConstantF= kxThe equation was used to calculate the spring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The spring constant that was found from the previous lab was 0.023 N/m. In part B of the experiment, we were able to determine the change in mass of the lead rod from the air to the water and the volume of the lead rod. After conducting five trials, we were able to find the change in mass of the lead rod by using the spring constant formula of F=kx. After modifying the formula to solve for mass, we were able to find the change in mass for each trial by multiplying the spring constant and displacement of the lead rod in air versus water, then dividing by gravity. The average change in mass was found to be 9.38X10 4g. Once we had found the mass of the lead rod, we were able to find calculate the volume of the lead rod by modifying the buoyancy force formula to solve for the volume of the object. Find that formula, we divided the mass of the lead rod by the density of water as shown in the table of literature. The average volume of the lead rod was found to be 3.422 cm3. In part C of this experiment, we were able to determine the change in mass of the lead rod from air to an unknown liquid and the density of the unknown liquid. We used the same method in part B to calculate the change in mass of the lead rod. The average change in mass of the lead rod in the unknown liquid was found to be ... Hagia Sophia was a Greek Orthodox Church. The church incorporates Christian beliefs with murals of Jesus Christs but also hanging from the ceiling are Islamic writings. The way the structural lighting of church was designed, it creates a halo type effect giving a heavenly feel. The sunlight reflects off of glass and gold which lightens the famous Hagia Sophia dome. In addition to, the gothic style incorporated less heavy walls but instead, the use of lighter fly buttresses used to support church or cathedral walls. The flying buttresses were of double use. They provided structural support but incorporated another form art found amongst a lot of gothic style cathedrals. Gothic style also replaced the hefty walls of the Romanesque art by using columns that were much thinner. Gothic style also introduced the Rose Windows as seen on many gothic cathedrals. Rose windows were just stain classes that form massive, colorful windows seen in the front of many gothic cathedrals and churches. Intertextuality Of Love Throughout the ages, many have tried to comprehend the human experience of love and its ineffable and mysterious force that leads us to complete euphoria or utter despair, with songs, paintings, and stories. In Plato s Symposium, six guest including Socrates, tackle and attempt to define love amongst each other. With each attempt, and our study of Johns gospel, the intertextuality between the symposium and John 15:8 17 helps one better understand the portrait that John portrays of Jesus as the ultimate lover and only way to being fully complete. In the Farewell Discourse of Johns gospel, Jesus speaks of his abiding love and ultimate commandment given to his disciples. He tells his disciples, As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love... I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you (John 15:9 12). This guide he gives to his disciples, as a way to live in relation to each other, can connect with that of Phaedrus idea of love. In the Symposium, Phaedrus speaks of love as a great god who gives the greatest goods and there is no greater good given to a boy than a lover. The lover is the guidance, to hold accountable the boy, just as we are held accountable by Jesus. He gives us this commandment of simply loving each other as he loves us and the Father him. Cinque Terre was a nice vacation spot to chill, relax, and go for a swim. Ninety Five degree weather all day long, everyday. My family and I were staying in a small, no air conditioning house with only 3 bedrooms. During our sleep, we forget to close the windows so little lizards come into our house and crawl up our walls. Cinque Terre is a great vacation spot for many family activities! Our first day in a new country, I was having a great time so far! We ran down to the beach and swam for the whole day. Some local people were hiking up the side of a mountain from the ocean. We noticed there was a large platform that they created at three top. Us as a whole family wanted to adventure up to the platform to see what all of the commotion was. Then as we reached the top of the cliff, people were jumping off and diving, doing all sorts of tricks. We decided to jump as well, this was a fun activity for us. As we continued hiking to a higher spot we found out that there was several different platforms on the mountain. People even made a small rocky path for people to walk up to. The tallest platform was too high for anyone to go on, but we went on the second highest one which was still very scary. On the top of the mountain, we can see all around the town of Cinque Terre. Also when we looked down at the clear sea water, we can see all the way to the bottom and see the white sand. Sometimes fish will stroll by and we can see them swim around our area. The next day in Cinque Terre was a beautiful day. The ocean waves were rolling in, the bright sun was shining high. As we were exploring the town looking for activities to do, a friendly tourist came up to us and told us all about the things him and his family has done for the past week. This gave us some ideas. We were told to go hiking. Scuba Dive. Explore all the local towns. Or enjoy a nice day at the beach. In these stories, an unforeseen factor arrives and offers an apparent solution to what would otherwise be an insoluble problem. Toward the end of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, the Puritan minister Dimmesdale seems to find such a resolution for the inner torment he has imposed on himself in atonement for his affair with Hester. The joy Dimmesdale feels in this scene delivers itself to him with a verb which the bible applies to punishment. Consideration of the justice which has not been administered disrupts the revelry that lands over the trouble of his breast. Because of the magnitude of his past sin, present joy hovers above his troubles, rather than eclipsing them. So long as Dimmesdale fails to take public responsibility for his actions, he will never feel pure joy. The trouble remains upon his breast, in the very place where his female accomplice was forced to bear the public consequence of their shared action alone. Still, the illusion of total joy intensifies. Without the impositions of any outside religious organization, Dimmesdale believes himself to be entirely free, though his devout, masochistic past continues to manifest itself. While it has become a popular topic of discussion as to why people become homeless little discussion has occurred about the homeless reintegrating back into society. Many steps must be taken in order for a homeless person to be able to create and maintain a steady life. There must be an acknowledgment of the barriers that led to homelessness. These barriers may be a numerous amount of things such as substance abuse, personal trauma, unhealthy relationships, health problems, or unemployment. No matter the barrier, goals need to be set and must be realistic. If the goals seem impossible to reach they will be. Finally, there must be a commitment to following through with the set goals and a realization that this is an ongoing process that will not change overnight. There is a misinformed stigma of homelessness, which is that all homeless persons are in their situation because of substance abuse or this is at least, in part, why they are unable to overcome homelessness, and that all homeless persons are unemployed. While mental illness and chronic substance abuse are the most common disabilities within homeless communities (Schutt, 2009) they are not the only factors as to why an individual may become homeless. Cultural anthropological study provides us a look at the enormous variations in thinking and acting found in the world today due to the cultural differences and at same time anthropological literature has documented many different solutions generated for solving the same problems cross culturally. A number of research have proven that people commonly assumed that intergroup relationships are more competitive than of interindividual ones, and they also experience competitive intergroup contacts more often in their daily lives. Kosuke Takemura and Masaki Yuki of Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan conducted an experimental research to test the theory of the discontinuity effect existing in East Asia as it does in the United States, wherein the participants played a 10 trial prisoner s dilemma game repeatedly. Thus, this may cause a high performer to leave elsewhere where they will receive improved compensation. In particular, companies would want to avoid such resentment because it will lead to a less motivated workforce and talent pool. By the same token, if the employee is an especially high performer the chances of that employee leaving are even greater because he or she will value their pay to the amount of effort applied. Hence, if a company wants to retain and keep great performers then the company needs to attract employees that can make a difference through a fair ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then as the rain freezes as it is falling from warm air to cold air, everything melts as it falls, and when it hits the ground it attaches itself as water and it freezes. Soon everything, will be covered with ice, power lines, roads, bridges, and trees. Then we have a good ole ice storm, which around here these up or down hill travels aren t good, since we have no guard rails over most of it. • 28. Federalists vs. Anti-Federalists Mark Sheen 529794668 POS 442 American Political Tradition 12 October, 2006 During the period between its proposal in September 1787 and ratification in 1789, the United States Constitution was the subject of numerous debates. The contending groups consisted of Federalists, those who supported ratification, and Anti Federalists, those opposed to the constitution. Each group published a series of letters known as the Federalist and Anti Federalist Papers. The Anti Federalist papers objected to provisions of the proposed constitution while the Federalist Papers defended the rationale behind the document. Anti Federalist objections included that; the United States was too extensive to be governed by a republic, the constitution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In what is considered the first anti federalist paper, Brutus writes: In a republic, the manners, sentiments, and interests of the people should be similar. If this be not the case, there will be a constant clashing of opinions; and the representatives of one part will be continually striving against those of the other. This will retard the operations of government, and prevent such conclusions as will promote the public good. This clash of ideas, opinions and lifestyles, he argued, did not lend itself to any overarching federal government. He continues: The United States includes a variety of climates. The productions of the different parts of the union are very variant, and their interests, of consequence, diverse. Their manners and habits differ as much as their climates and productions; and their sentiments are by no means coincident. The laws and customs of the several states are, in many respects, very diverse, and in some opposite; each would be in favor of its own interests and customs, and, of consequence, a legislature, formed of representatives from the respective parts, would not only be too numerous to act with any care or decision, but would be composed of such heterogenous and discordant principles, as would constantly be contending with each other (Anti Federalist 1). The Federal Farmer adds: Different laws, customs, and opinions exist in the different states, which by a uniform system of laws would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They go to these places because they trust the physicians, nurses, and all other medical personnel are there to provide them with adequate, quality care with hopes that they will be discharged in a healthier state. Inadvertently, each day millions of people entering these facilities and experiencing more complications than expected due to some type of medical error. Medical errors are becoming more and more frequent every day and its costing patients more than ever. Medical errors have become one of the major focuses of the health care industry since the Institute of Medicine released its report in the year 1999, The Err Is Human. During that time there was an estimated ninety eight thousand people dying a year in hospitals due to medical errors. Naturally this struck fear into people and caused many to question a lot of things being done in health care facilities. According to more recent studies, it has been noted that as many four hundred and forty four thousand people die each year from a preventable medical error. That is only the death toll as a result of a medical error, not the actual number of individuals that endure a medical error each year. With statistic numbers like these, health care facilities are sacrificing large numbers of patients that equal out to the number people within fairly large cities and states. With this number of people dying alone as a result of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. How Is Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead Parody, Pastiche and Their Contribution to Configuring the Theme of Identity in Tom Stoppard s play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is written by Tom Stoppard. It is a parody for the Shakespearean play, Hamlet. The play starts with the two major characters, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern flipping a coin. Rosencrantz always won the game and Guildenstern was trying to understand the laws of mathematics. Even from the beginning of the play we are told that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are called Ros and Guil. This fact meant that they are pop culture representants and it is a reduction of the Shakespearean play. From the title it can be seen the fact that they were dead from the beginning (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). They also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It satirized the Elizabethan play through characters and how they act and even through the fact that now the play centers on Ros and Guil. When the other Shakespearean characters are introduced, the do not appear like in Hamlet , but they are puppets, without life, or personality. They did not have much significance in the play. Now they are minor characters which used the two main characters for their own purpose. Gertrude wanted to understand what happened to her son and Claudius also used them to kill Hamlet. Ros and Guil were their servants because they responded to the call of Claudius and Gertrude. Hamlet was also a minor character here. Like in Shakespeare s play he followed his own interest, but here Ros and Guil were sent to understand his plans. The parody here came from the fact that the most major characters from Shakespeare s play are now minor and the minor characters are major. The tragic effect from Hamlet is now given to clowns, Ros and Guil, which are stupid characters; they do not know who they are. It is an exaggeration of the human condition and this makes a play a tragicomedy. Like Hamlet tried to understand the meaning of life and death in the original play, now Ros and Guil tried to do ... • 33. The Causes Of Firebrand Storms Firebrand storms are understood as the only mechanism that can initiate a spot fire at long distances from the fire front. The surface area of the firebrands play an important role in speeding of fire via firebrand. In this paper, the surface area of 1400 firebrands was measured via image processing techniques and then, the uncertainty of the measurement is calculated. It was found that the mean, variance and skewness of the projected area are 3.90, 41.01 and 6.62 respectively. Moreover, the standard and combined uncertainties in measuring the skewness are 0.17 and 0.25 cm2 respectively. Large open fires threaten lives and properties worldwide. In the United States, only in 2016, over one million fires were reported which has caused 3390 civilian death and 10.6 million dollars property loss [1]. In open fires, three mechanisms have been renown for spreading of fire: (1) direct flame contact, (2) radiant and convective heat flux, and (3) firebrands. A 2008 study found that the direct flame and radiant/convective heat flux mechanism is relatively weak and ultimately incapable of initiating another fire when the distance is more than 100 feet [2]. Therefore, the first two mechanisms are conceivably less dangerous with distance. On the other hand, firebrands are capable of initiating spot fires miles away from the fire line. These flying hot particles can be either burning combustible materials (woods) or high temperature non combustible materials (metals) depending on their origin at which they have been lofted. Given both the firebrands ignition capabilities at great distances as well as the diversity of the firebrands origins [3], the natural problem culminates around the firebrands potential for catastrophic destruction. The lethality of a firebrand depends on various parameters such as mass, projected area and lying distance. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct experiments and measure the above mentioned parameters. This papers addresses the measurement of the projected area (the measurand) and the uncertainty in this measurement. Numerous tests to generate firebrands in different conditions have been performed at Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS) located in South Carolina. ... • 34. To Serve God And Wal-Mart Analysis In Bethany Moreton s book To Serve God and Wal Mart: The Making of Christian Free Enterprise, dutiful employees of Wal Mart praise the comfortable, familial, and friendly atmosphere at work. These attitudes are no accidental, however: Moreton asserts that Wal Mart utilized gendered notions in order to structure a new sexual hierarchy onto the workplace. Wal Mart s successful exploitation of business techniques such as altering the perception of women s work in the home versus at work, reinforcing masculinities through normalized displays and gendered spectacles, and asking for personal sacrifice from workers for the good of the family (and thus the business) along gender lines all compounded to adjust and confirm notions of gender, race, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Indeed, service labor was often viewed as women s work , which directly challenged the authority and the masculinity of men. With women flooding the service sector, the meekness of Jesus and Christianity did not fit in with ideals of masculinity, independence, and power and thus posed an ethical problem. In order to subvert this, a new trend of servant leadership began, with men acting as transitory and moving managers, and women acting as long term low wage workers. Instead of focusing upon the managers labor, the focus was placed squarely upon the natural prerogatives of men as men, not as managers , reinforcing a hegemonic and sexual chain of command promoting the masculinity, autonomy, and skill of men. Subsequently, these men became symbolic heads of house, effectively owning the labor of their employees. In this way, the man could remain the master of his small world , effectively translating his dominion of influence from the household to the aisles of Wal Mart. Furthermore, Moreton states that prominent philosophy must explain how the authority of men has increased with service sector work in order to contain the threat posed by the effeminate , the androgynous , and sissified men. For instance, a female clerk might impend the masculinity of men, conversely, a female clerk working deferentially ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Comparing the Supernatural in William Shakespeare s... Comparing the Supernatural in William Shakespeare s Hamlet and Macbeth In the time of William Shakespeare there was a strong belief in the existence of the supernatural. Therefore, the supernatural is a recurring theme in many of Shakespeare s plays. In two such plays, Hamlet and Macbeth, the supernatural is an integral part of the structure of the plot. It provides a catalyst for action, an insight into character, and an augmentation of the impact of many key scenes. The supernatural appears to the audience in many varied forms. In Hamlet there appears perhaps the most notable of the supernatural forms, the ghost. However, in Macbeth, not only does a ghost appear, but also a floating dagger, witches, and prophetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hamlet, having no suspicion of the ghost after the production by the players, encounters the ghost next in his mother s room. In this scene the ghost makes an appearance to whet Hamlet s almost blunted purpose (III.iv.126). Hamlet is now convinced of the ghost and he no longer harbors any suspicion. He now listens to it, Speak to her, Hamlet (III.iv.130). The supernatural is the guiding force behind Hamlet. The ghost asks Hamlet to seek revenge for the King s death and Hamlet is thus propelled to set into action a series of events that ends in his own death. The supernatural occurs four times during the course of Macbeth. It occurs in all the appearances of the witches, in the appearance of Banquo s ghost, in the apparitions with their prophecies, and in the air drawn dagger that guides Macbeth towards his victim. Of the supernatural phenomenon evident in Macbeth the witches are perhaps the most important. The witches represent Macbeth s evil ambitions. They are the catalysts that unleash Macbeth s evil aspirations. Macbeth believes the witches and wishes to know more about the future so after the banquet he seeks them out at their cave. He wants to know the answers to his questions regardless of whether the consequence is violent and destructive to nature. The witches promise to answer and, following Macbeth s wishes, they add further unnatural ingredients to the cauldron and call up their masters. This is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
