The Weary Blues By Langston Hughes Tone
Black Soul The Weary Blues by Langston Hughes illustrates someone singing blues on Lenox Avenue
in the streets of Harlem, the tone of the poem and the location can imply that both the speaker and the
singer are African American. Hughes uses the genre of blues to portray the significance to African
American culture. He also utilizes melancholy tone and word choice to strengthen the connection to
Blues style music. In addition, he writes the poem in free verse to mimic the pattern of speech and
music. All of these aspects allow for Hughes to show the way of coping with the immense sadness
developed by African American culture at the time. Hughes alludes to the blues style of music all
throughout the poem. The title of the poem is the first

The Journey Essay
The Journey is the first chapter in the book called Survival in Auschwitz, written by Primo Levi;
which originally appeared in English under the title If This Is a Man in 1958. This first chapter brings
you through Levi s journey from Turin, Italy to the work camp, Auschwitz, while detailing the routine
of blatant inhumanity. The chapter begins as Levi states the fact that he was captured by the Fascist
Militia when he was 24, only after being forced to flee into the mountains because of his segregated
life filled with racial laws. The night he was captured, three fascist militia companies broke into their
refuge and took him as a suspect person. While being interrogated, Levi decided to admit that he was

The morning came quickly, emotions ran high, and after a night of panic, everyone realized they said
and did things they wished they hadn t, but the morning continued on. Suddenly the Germans held the
roll call. When completed, the officer asked the question `How Many? The corporal replied that there
were 650 pieces, and that everything was in order. From there, the humans, who had just been referred
to as `pieces were loaded onto busses and brought to a waiting train, this is where they received their
first blows, the captives had to question themselves as of how these men can hit them without anger.
Waiting for them were twelve goods wagons, the notorious transport trains, which would never return.
Men, women, and children were herded inside and pressed together like merchandise; packed in for a
journey with an undeclared destination. Next, everyone was packed in, the doors were shut, but the
train didn t begin to move until the evening. When the trains began to move, the captives inside had
finally learnt of their destination with relief; Auschwitz. This name meant nothing to them, but as long
as they knew they were going somewhere, that was all that mattered. The train moved slowly, and
through slits in the wagon, they could make out familiar cities, until everything familiar was out of
sight. The passengers suffered from cold and thirst, but their constant pleas for something to quench
their thirst, were dismissed. Through the slits in the wagon, the

Indeed, employee empowerment is a well known tool for retaining employees, boosting operation
productivity and recovering customer services. Improper use of empowerment can also impact
negatively on such things as employees poor decision making 3
and management s fear of giving up control. However, employee empowerment has more positive
impacts on the front desk operations and this paper will suggest how to overcome those negative
aspects by showing the best practices used in hotel operations. Constraints One of the main constraints
in this study is the limited access to certain research materials that might be relevant to certain aspects
of the importance of empowering employees at front desk operations. All of the research will be based
on interviews with hotel professionals in successful resorts located in Las Vegas and the use of
published literature. Glossary Empowerment Empowerment is an idea which includes many
disciplines and areas of study such as economics, community development, education, psychology,
and studies of social movements and organizations, among others. According to the definition of The
World Bank, empowerment is providing individuals or groups with enough knowledge to allow them
to make educated choices so that the result of those choices leads to responsible decision making.
Hopefully these decisions will not

The Negative Impacts Of Rock NRoll
Rock N Roll made its first debut in the late 1940s, early 1950s. Creating a new genre of music based
on heavy beats and simple melodies. As the years began to evolve so did the opinion of Rock N Roll.
Rock N Roll began influencing people s everyday lives from their fashion, attitudes, and even
language. The most influential genre found in Rock N Roll was heavy metal, due to its strong beats
and violent or fantastic imagery. Motley Crue was neither the first nor the last heavy metal band in
Rock N Roll. They were, however, the band social critics loved to hate. By placing Motley Crue
within the development of heavy metal, one can discover how Rock N Roll, even in the 1980s,
continued to divide American society. Motley Crue was founded in the early 1980s with numerous
other astonishing heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Scorpion, Def Leppard, and Metallic. These
bands choose to be associated with the genre heavy metal, because they knew the impact it would
leave on their fan base. Yet many people had their doubts about this new style of music due to its
negative outlooks. Heavy metal was believed to split our society by encouraging rebellious tendencies
against authority figures such as parents, adults, schools, and the work force. Even after all these
negative impact heavy metal recieved, it did not stop Motley Crue from continuing to produce the
music they believed to explain their feelings at the time. This also showed others that their style of

Imperialism In The Congo Research Paper
In the Congo, many people were affected by Imperialism in many different ways. For some people
were shamed, had curfews, and some were often banned from white people establishments. Therefore,
it was like segregation to the Congolese people. They had religion forced onto them by the Roman
Catholic and some Protestant Churches. However, they gained formal education systems and slowly
improved their healthcare. The government even sponsored teaching a handful of languages in the
schools. When imperialism first hit, the Congo experienced withdrawal of resources due to lack of
farming, therefore having a small population was vital to the Congolese people would support
themselves. It was not until after the Congo gained their independence back, did the population start to
grow back. Sadly, among the small population in the Congo, most were receiving callus treatment
from Leopold and many died in war, or from starvation, slavery, and also disease. Since there was a
withdrawal of resources, the Congo built railroads and mines. In doing so, it created more jobs for the
Congolese people. Although some people gained jobs, many others went into forced labor and were
unable to farm or hunt, ended up making people all over the country ... Show more content on

quality of life, resources, imports and exports, and education. Violence has also become a problem
since the Rwandan Genocide that caused many wars. Statistics say the Congo has great potential to be

Montana Tribe Research Paper
I felt that it was incredibly important to learn the background in all Montana Tribes and history first
before choosing a tribe to learn more about. Long before Montana became known as the last best
place, Indian people knew this area as the first best place (Whitford, p.2). The Native Americans were
promised many things. That they still have not received to this day. Later in the 1800 s, treaties started
to begin between the U.S. Government and the Native Americans (Whitford, p.2). The treaties were
over the land.
In Montana, there are twelve tribal nations. Only eleven have their own homelands. This is because
they have either treaties set or have an order. The only Tribe that doe not have their own homeland is
Little Shell Band of Chippewa (Whitford, p.3). I think it is very important to understand that each
Tribe has its own story about what happened between them as a tribe and the U.S. Government
(Whitford, p. 3). How that particular tribe has overcome things that happened in the 1800 s and today.

Blackfeet southern boundary was moved 200 miles north by Presidential orders and Congressional
Acts (Whitford p.11). The tribe was continuously moved. Not only were they moved, but also hunting
for buffalo was a lot harder. They had to learn new ways to survive (Whitford p.11). In 1888, the

Loneliness in Cannery Row, by John Steinbeck
As night falls on Cannery Row actuality and fear overwhelms the souls as they lay awake at night. At
this very moment they are alone to think to ponder their existence their importance their meaning.
During the day the things the people of Cannery Row use to fill their void. To give them happiness is
gone and for those long hours of the night they are truly alone. The cats, the parties, and companions
are gone just for a second. But they return in the morning to calm the weary and the broken spirits of
the people in Cannery Row. Each of us just like the people in Cannery Row uses something or
someone to compensate for the loneliness in our lives. Money, relationships, and personal struggles

Although Frankie has never had much love he knows what it means and he finds it in Doc. With Doc
he is not alone. Doc is his protection, his comforter. He is also a father figure who he looks up to.
Undoubtedly Doc and Frankie share something and it is there intellectual capacities. Their intellect
predisposes them to a certain form of loneliness. It is of course on the opposite spectrum. Doc is
highly and unusually intelligent while Frankie is on the slow side. They find it hard to fit in with the
people of Cannery Row because they cannot find a place where they fit in intellectually. We can all
think back to the smart kid or who we would refer to as the nerd in high school. They were the kids
who always sat alone at lunch who did not go to dances or social events. Never got asked to prom and
had very little friends. If you are too smart you are a nerd and if you are too slow you are dim witted.
Therefore is safe to say intelligence plays a huge role in loneliness. Doc chooses to be to put all his
time and effort into his work which brings him true happiness. Without Western Biological doc would
feel alone and isolated. Western Biological fills the void in his life. Although Doc has not reached self
actualization all his basic needs have been met. He is satisfied with where he is. No doubt Cannery

The Most Common Form Of Dementia
The second most common form of dementia is vascular dementia, which happens when there is a
blockage in the blood vessels that is in the vast system of the arteries that feeds the brain. Vascular
dementia is known to affect the thinking process and older people are generally more prone to
developing this disorder. Vascular Dementia, also known as multi infarct dementia, occurs when cells
in the brain are deprived of oxygen. Mini strokes, also known as silent strokes, are the cause of partial
blockage of the blood vessels. The people that suffer from strokes have a 30% chance of getting
dementia within three months of their stroke (Kumral and Özgören, 2017).
The vascular system oversees the blood vessels and provides the brain with oxygen. ... Show more

Which older people are more prone to blockage of these arteries
Correspondingly, there are two pathways that transports blood to the brain called internal carotid
artery and vertebral artery. The internal carotid artery has three layers call the tunica adventitia, tunica
media, and tunica intima. Tunica intima is made up of smooth muscle cells and elastin. The basilar
artery forms and it branches out to the posterior cerebral arteries. The posterior cerebral arteries form
the internal carotid arteries and when they connect they make cerebral arterial circle ( circle of willis).
The middle cerebral arteries branch out two separate arteries called the anterior cerebral arteries. Each
of these arteries are the force that direct the blood flow to the brain. There are three tiny vascular
systems that work together to profuse the deep brain. Which are the pial, subependymal, and
lenticulostriate arteries. The small area of white matter that depends on blood flow is called the
subcortical shed water area. The subcortical is more prone than other areas of the brain to have
ischemia. The leading cause of ischemia is the fibrin builds up and this cause a narrowing of the
lumen. Which does not allow the flow of red blood cells and deprives the white matter of tissue of
oxygen. The tissue then losses density and produces white matter lesions. The neurons become
demyelinated which leads to loss of cognitive ability.
Furthermore, the symptoms displayed by vascular dementia will

Is The Use Of Indirect Characterization In Natasha...
The Cellar, by Natasha Preston, is a book about a teenage girl named Summer who gets kidnapped.
Summer gets kidnapped by a man named Clover, who is trying to make his, perfect family. He keeps
four girls in his basement at a time and calls them all by names of flowers, Lilly, Poppy, Rose, and
Violet. Summer, who is referred to as Lilly while she is kidnapper, spends seven months with three
other girls in the cellar trying to survive until they finally escape. While Lilly is in the cellar she has to
watch many horrible things happen, for example, girls getting stabbed to death by Clover. At the end
of the book the police arrive at Clover s house to rescue the girls. After the girls are found Lilly returns
to live a normal life with her family and new friends.
Natasha Preston used indirect characterization to reveal her characters. We know indirect
characterization was used because, we learned more about Summer as time went on and as she
interacted with other characters. The reader learned her character traits by the way she acted and who
her friends were, rather than the author coming out and telling us about her. By the author using
indirect characterization we learned Summer is an outgoing teenage girl who is strong and has great
friends.

Electronic Mass Planets Orbiting The Pulsar Psr B1257
irmed detection came in 1992, with the discovery of several terrestrial mass planets orbiting the pulsar
PSR B1257+12.[31] The first confirmation of an exoplanet orbiting a main sequence star was made in
1995, when a giant planet was found in a four day orbit around the nearby star 51 Pegasi. Some
exoplanets have been imaged directly by telescopes, but the vast majority have been detected through
indirect methods such as the transit method and the radial velocity method.
Early speculations
This space we declare to be infinite... In it are an infinity of worlds of the same kind as our own.
Giordano Bruno (1584)[32]
In the sixteenth century the Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno, an early supporter of the Copernican
theory that Earth and other planets orbit the Sun (heliocentrism), put forward the view that the fixed
stars are similar to the Sun and are likewise accompanied by planets.
In the eighteenth century the same possibility was mentioned by Isaac Newton in the General
Scholium that concludes his Principia. Making a comparison to the Sun s planets, he wrote And if the
fixed stars are the centers of similar systems, they will all be constructed according to a similar design
and subject to the dominion of One. [33]
In 1952, more than 40 years before the first hot Jupiter was discovered, Otto Struve wrote that there is
no compelling reason why planets could not be much closer to their parent star than is the case in the
Solar System, and proposed that

Interaction And Labeling Theory
Interaction and Labeling Theory
The interaction and labeling theories are focused on the meaning of crime and criminality. (Bohm
Vogel). The criminalization process is the primary focus instead of the peculiarities of the criminal
actor. They believe that criminals are the product of a negative social reaction.
The interactionism and labeling theory comes from the symbolic interactionism of George H. Meade.
(Bohm Vogel). Meade based his ideas on 3 propositions. The first is that human beings act toward
tings based on the meaning things have for them. People interpret the same events based on the
meanings attached to them the second is that the meaning of things are based on the social interactions
that one has with his fellows.

Causes Of The Crusades
The Crusade of Children The Crusades were a series of religious wars between Muslims and
Christians for Jerusalem, the Holy Land. These wars started when the Byzantine Emperor wanted to
regain Jerusalem and Constantinople and to accomplish this, he allied with the Count of Flanders.
There was a total of nine Crusades, but not all of them were battles. In 1212, somewhere between the
fourth and fifth crusades there was a peasant revolt. This revolt was presumably spurred by the many
failed crusades in the previous years as well as the desire to regain the Holy Land. Incredibly, this
revolt was made up of thousands of children. Although it is called The Children s Crusade , is not

Marseilles, quite a few of the children were lured onto ships, where they were captured and sold as
slaves by sailors and were never seen again. As before mentioned there were two groups in the
Children s Crusade, the second being the German children. This group was gathered up much like the

He did the same as Stephen but only gathered about 20,000 children. The journey they planned was to

and grueling, killing thousands of children. Many died from starvation like in Stephen s group but
because of the cruel weather and the children s inadequate comprehension and preparation countless
more children died in Nicholas s group. Once they got over the mountains they started on their way to
Rome, with many children choosing to stop and settle in the italian villages and towns they had
stopped at temporarily. The army of children lost about a thousand to villages where they had chosen
to take on a new life. In fact, a huge chunk of the group of German children decided

The Woman Who Walked Into Doors

Paula is the woman who walked into doors [1] because she explains her cuts, bruises, and broken
bones by her clumsiness walking into doors, falling down stairs rather than their real causes, her
husband s violent physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. This euphemism shows the contradiction of
subaltern speech: it can suggest and imply but it cannot truly speak in a language that society is
willing or able to decode. In fact, the entire novel rests on the inherent contradiction of subaltern
speech because Paula, a subaltern figure, narrates the entire book. The book shows Paula as she
struggles to know and speak [herself], to borrow a phrase from Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak s Can the

Rhetorical Analysis Of Disney s Frozen
Rhetorical Analysis: Disney s Frozen
Walt Disney Productions prestige is to never disappoint and their latest movie Frozen, is no exception.
The movie centers around the lives of two sisters, kind hearted Anna and the frightened Snow Queen
Elsa. Fearless Anna sets off on a journey to find her sister, who flees to an icy mountain after she
accidentally traps the kingdom of Arendelle in an eternal winter with her ice powers. Disney s 2013
animated film reeled in its target audience and more; the film intended to appeal to children s of all
ages surprisingly enough enticed a wider audience largely comprised of non families. Disney s
reputation for promoting happiness and the well being of American families led to the direct success
of the movie Frozen. The film met its purpose, depicting a touching storyline showing the importance
of family and undermining the traditional concept of true love. Furthermore, Walt Disney Productions
established sufficient credibility within its viewers and audience with the use of artistic proofs such as;
ethos, logos, and pathos. Disney s tradition is to provide the audience with an educational piece of
entertainment, Frozen is undeniably one of those Disney animated films worth seeing. Walt Disney
Productions strategic use of rhetoric made it evident that the movie was going to be an all time hit
some may even say the biggest children s film of all time simply because it was just that, a Disney
movie.

Murray Bowen Differentiation Of Self
The term Differentiation refers to a developmental process when a skill becomes more sophisticated
and broken into subsets. According to Professor Murray Bowen, differentiation of self is one s ability
to separate one s own intellectual and emotional functioning from that of family. He states, The one
most important goal of family systems therapy is to help family members toward a better level of
differentiation of self. Murray is saying that through family therapy, one can develop their true self.
He continues by saying that families are actually stuck to each other and this background affects a
person/people. Bowan talks about someone with low differentiation and describes them as being sewn
to family emotions. People with low differentiation depend more on others for acceptance and
approval. They either conform to others or attempt to force others to conform to themselves. These
particular people become more vulnerable to the deterioration of stress. Having a well differentiated
self is ideal in life. In family therapy, the triangle method is often used. He states, There was a
different emphasis on the triangle between self and parents, which is the most important primary
triangle in life. The relationship with self and parents develops a background that could change
someone s life. Whenever two people are having issues with each other, they may triangle in a third
participant. Bowen clearly emphasizes this specific idea. He says that anxiety is

operations of Congress Essay
Throughout history, there have been many factors that seem to have influenced the operations of
Congress. Some of these factors have been the committee system, seniority, and political parties.
These are only a few of the factors that actually have an influence on Congress s decisions of certain
operations.
The first factor that seems to have influenced the operations of Congress is the committee system.
Congress has four different types of committees. The four committees are the joint committees,

The Committee chairpersons are the ones with the real power. There is an unwritten rule that the
majority party member with the longest continuous service on a committee becomes chairperson when
a vacancy occurs. The committee chairperson is the only one in the committee that actually has a real
say in what is going on, and that opportunity is given to the one that has served his time the longest.
However, that is no longer allowed. A historical event that has influenced Congress s operations is the
Legislation Reorganization act of 1970.This act ensures that there will be no more seniority because.
Now a secret ballot elects them, however, the member with the most seniority usually wins anyway.
The third factor that seems to have an influence on the operations of Congress is the public opinion.
Logically, if the public thinks that a certain congressman doesn t know how to do his job, then he won
t get elected. That s why the public opinion has a major influence the operations of Congress because
the public has say if that Congressman or Congressmen will get elected again.
In conclusion, there are many factors that influence Congress s decisions of certain operations
throughout history. Some of those factors include the committee system, seniority, and the public
opinion. Most of the factors have to do with making sure that there are no corrupt congressmen, or

Cartierville Urban Analysis
Introduction The area of the city I chose to analyze is located in Cartierville. The specific area spans
about four blocs from Dudemaine street all the way up to Salaberry, it is bordered by Rue Fillion and
St Germain. This block of the borough of Cartierville is mostly residential and suburban but if there
would only be that aspect this paper wouldn t be too interesting. So I decided to go one block over to
Obrien which has more of a commercial side to it. So we can see the shift between the two types of
areas. INITIAL EXPECTATIONS/FIRST IMPRESSIONS At first glance this neighbourhood this
neighbourhood seemed very quiet, very boring. And for the most part this is true. Most of the area

Non Verbal And Verbal Communication
Communication is important in any industry. There are many forms of communication and it is
constantly evolving. One such field that communication is important in is physical therapy. There is
constant interaction between patients, physical therapists, physical therapists assistants, other
employees, other health professionals, etc. This report will look at communication within different
levels of employment, non verbal and verbal communication, communication impacted by the
audience, technology, interpersonal skills, and feedback.
First and foremost is non verbal communication. The very first impression you have of someone is
their physical appearance. Nonverbal communication plays a large role in the dynamics of how people
relate to one another in the workplace (Perkins, 2010). It is important for workers in the physical
therapy profession to dress appropriately and show confidence. When working with patients there is a
lot to consider. What type of message do you send, consciously and unconsciously, in the way you
dress, your facial expression, your greeting rituals, your displays of emotion, your gestures, your tone
of voice, or your use of space? (Perkins, 2010, p. 51). It is important to consider all these because the
patient wants to know and feel they are in good hands.
Nonverbal communication is also important within the work area. Employers want to know they can
trust their employees especially with patients. An individual also wants to get along with their

Persuasive Essay On Cyberbullies
Fighting Cyberbullies Before technology took over our society, bullying was limited to physical and
verbal harm. Today, technology has allowed bullies to attack someone at anytime and say as much as
they wish. This allows for the victim to read and re read his or her threats over and over again. When
the threats become too harsh, the victim feels unsafe in public areas, such as school, and the victim
misses out on school work and activities. Although there are more serious problems that should be
addressed at school, school officials should fight cyberbullying because dealing with cyberbullying
issues teaches students to become better and stronger people in the future, the disturbing comments
that are made online affect the students mental and emotional health, and when addressing this issue,
both the bully and the victim could be helped. Cyberbullying is the inappropriate use of the internet,
online networks, and social media in which someone attacks an innocent person using offensive
comments and/or pictures. In the past, traditional bullying was limited to harassing people face to
face. Outside witnesses could interfere at anytime and stop situations from getting worse. However,
the development of technology has opened the doors for people to hurt others anonymously. The
internet has no boundaries, giving bullies the ability to harass others as much as they feel. Dealing
with cyberbullying issues teaches students to become better stronger people in the future. It is

Cannibalism Or The Consumption Of Human Flesh By Human
Cannibalism Culture
Cannibalism or the consumption of human flesh by humans is an act in which many people feel
uneasy about and is ethically immoral to participate in ( Cannibalism , 2008: 427). However, it is a
ritual that is practiced in some parts of the world. There are still cultures that feel that the eating of
humans by humans (Lawless, 2006: 435), is perfectly conventional and acceptable. This may create a
culture shock for many individuals that don t engage in such rituals The reasons why people
participate in cannibalism are due to many factors, but it all narrows down to the culture that an
individual is introduced and/or indulged in. It is common to think that Cannibalism can be seen as a

how you the individual was raised and in which culture was he/she raised in. In many cultures,

How Personal Values And Beliefs Influenced The Black...
How Personal Values and Beliefs Influenced the Black American Slave Narrative: Incidents in the Life
of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass Compared.
Throughout the abolition movement, both men and women slaves were trying to escape from slavery,
and find their way to freedom in the North. Many of wrote their stories down. Some with the aid of
ghost writers, and often under pseudonyms to protect their safety. These slave narratives spoke of the
sufferings of the slave experience in America (Campbell 1). Because black men and black woman
experienced slavery differently, they wrote about them differently. Those differences can be seen in a
comparison of Frederick Douglass s, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave
(1845), and of Harriet A. Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Written by Herself (1861).
Jacobs and Douglass have similar backgrounds. Both write of their experiences while enslaved, yet as
their narratives are compared a distinction can be made between the core values and purposes between
the two. Douglass s audience is towards anyone who will listen, and underscores the brutal violence,
and dehumanization of the American slave. Jacob s views are more emotional and directed towards
the upper class white woman whose sympathies she believes will align with her own as a mother and a
woman.
Douglas writes, You have seen how a man was made a slave; you shall see how a slave was made a
man (Douglass).

and the connection to the organisation.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a tool that is used to define the work elements of a project and
identify its entire scope. It is the map of the project which identifies all elements of the project and
allows managers to keep track and control of it. It is made of a hierarchy which facilitates the

The project scope has been explained in regards to the WBS, it has been explained in order to
elaborate the project scope, herby going onto the project priorities.
The project priorities are in regards what should be prioritised in the project. What is to be taking in
regards in terms of cost is (budget), time (schedule), and performance (scope) of the project. What is
important to emphasise on here is how these three correlate with one another. In a case where time is
important it would be necessary to perform faster, which will prevent a quality outcome, hence lead to
reduced costs. The importance of a project manager is to control the trade offs between budgets and
scope. The project managers functions as a link between upper management and project customers.
The project manager needs to have keen understanding of project scope in order to fulfil the
requirements for the customers and how prioritize the demands. The customer can also add
requirements and then the manager needs to prioritize the requirements in regards to the project. An
important method is to use the priority matrix to identify what is worth prioritizing more. The
constrain is stick and have to be obliged to the first agreements made between the customer, this
includes, the specifications and scope of the project or the budget. The enhance includes time and
costs. The enhance is an essential factor seeing where to emphasize on either on reducing costs or

Management Is The Basic Function Of Management
Q1.
Management is a common and important term involving in all kinds of organizations such as
businesses, political, cultural or social. Management has been described as the process of dealing with
things or people (Oxford Dictionary). There are four basic functions that make up the effective
management process: Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling. Catriona Noble, who started
from a 14 year old casual crew member to the first female CEO of One of McDonald s top ten
subsidiaries in the world, applies successfully these functions in operating McDonald s Australia.
Planning is the basic function of management which involves in defining goals, setting up strategy,
and developing plans to best achieve of the goals. Typically, planning also involves flexibility in the
organization and knowledge of the company s recourses. Thus it is important to have planning skills to
establish the right strategic objectives before making tactical decision (Burrows, 2016). Understanding
planning is a key in running business, Catriona Noble has been a crucial driving force in changing
McDonald s menu. She endeavours to find out the different opinion of customers about the food in
order to modify menu items that suit consumer tastes. She also really concerns about criticisms
towards McDonald s fattier items and aims to use a lower fat and healthier way to cook. As a business
leader, she effectively uses planning skills to develop and monitor individual aspects of projects, and

Managerial Decision Making Is Not Only Influenced By An...
Thesis Statement: Managerial decision making is not only influenced by an individual s personality
but also by some social factors. What is decision making? Defining decision making is a hard task just
as it would be to define knowledge: it is a process we use on a daily basis, but when it comes to find a
way to describe how it works we encounter many obstacles. That is due to the fact that each one of us
has his/her unique decision making process, which is continuously built in time. Several academic
definition of decision making exist, depending on the kind of situation in which the decision takes
place. For a manager, the decision making is a core process, and unfortunately half of the decision
taken by management in an organization fail (Nutt, 1999), thus key importance has been given lately
in researching this field. A business related definition states that decision making is the thought
process of selecting a logical choice from the available options . This definition highlights that despite
the wish of giving to this process an objective and constant trait, both time and subjectiveness are
instead crucial. As a matter of fact, when a decision has to be made, even if it is a business decisions,
not only rationality comes into the picture: past experience, cognitive biases, age and individual
differences, belief in personal relevance, and an escalation of commitment, all influence what choices
people make (Dietrich, 2010). In other words, analyzing the above

became a great threat to the United States of America, after tensions between the two intensified,
following World War II. The US was afraid that the Soviet Union would attack and there would be no

COPD Case Study Essay
RATIONALE
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains a major financial burden to our healthcare
system. In 2015, the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services started imposing a financial penalty for
hospitals with excess rates of COPD readmissions. We investigated the effectiveness of a Discharge
Checklist in reducing the rates of 30 day readmission in a cohort of high risk patients admitted with
COPD exacerbation.
METHODS
We conducted a 12 month randomized prospective case control study on patients diagnosed with acute
COPD exacerbation from December 2016 to November 2017. The case cohort was administered a
Discharge Checklist at the time of hospital discharge while the patients in the control group underwent
usual discharge care. The Discharge Checklist included identification of factors such as non
compliance, inappropriate oxygen use, inappropriate inhaler technique and lack of follow up. In
addition, we measured the Peak Inspiratory Flow (PIF) and adjusted the home inhalers based on the
PIF. The electronic health record was used to look for evidence of readmissions. The primary outcome

The Dark Side of the Brain
The reason people are able to communicate, connect, feel, and understand the world around them is
because of their highly intelligent minds. People often take this gift for granted, and do not fully
comprehend how capable their minds are of absorbing and processing information. Two authors with
two very different circumstances for their essays are able to support their arguments through
psychology and ongoing brain research. In Embrace by the Needle (2001), Gabor Mate explores the
psychological reason behind why addictions can develop in drug users. While in Is Google Making Us

However, the authors use two different methods of portraying their argument. Mate s argument is
strong and compelling with his research evidence. Using an ethos approach, he persuades the reader
that he can be trusted and that his evidence is compelling. He suggests that he is an expert in the field
of research and treatment of addictions. He develops the majority of his argument by explaining his
research findings on the psychological effects of drug abuse. He uses anecdotes from his patients at
the harm reducing, non profit Portland faculty to provide further proof that his research findings are
factual. He leaves the reader with a conclusive argument that is hard to argue with. In contrast, Carr
uses a logos approach to portray his argument, he develops the majority of his argument through
anecdotes instead of research facts. His argument is based on the conclusion he makes from his set of
facts and statistics. He shares his own personal anecdote and other people s anecdote of how they are
finding it hard now to focus on reading a book. He then uses the results from a published study of
online research habits to support his anecdote evidence. By using the logos approach, he forms an
argument that is logical and appeals to the reader intellect. However, since the research on how digital
media affect people cognitive development is still ongoing, there is still not enough concrete evidence.

Texas A M University Kingsville should provide ceiling fans to different areas of the school
Description of Problem: The proposal is that most school areas including Texas A M University
Kingsville should provide fans in every part or unit of the school which includes the classrooms and
your room areas. Fans are used mainly for creating a current of air or breeze, especially a machine
using an electric motor to rotate and in order to move air that is used for cooling the area. The problem
of the proposal leading to making a change in convincing the school to provide fans in different areas
can come in many different ways. There are several problems that I want to discuss that leads to
schools providing fans to different areas. It includes that without fans in the school area it can affect
your health status, it can lead to dehydration in which your body loses more water than it takes in and
it can also lead to death. The first problem of the fans not being provided to different parts of the
school area is that it can lead to affecting your health. In general, a fan helps to cool the surrounding
when people are inside their rooms during the day. When there is no presence of fan, most people
would sweat and in a hot area with no cold atmosphere coming in through it could lead to suffocation
due to the presence of much heat.
The second problem is that it can lead to dehydration. In this aspect where a place or a surrounding is

Ex Conscientious Objectors In Ww1
Bread was not rationed, but by law had to be sold by weight and not by the loaf. Even so, the
government took steps to decrease its consumption further by banning the sale of bread until twelve
hours after it had been baked. The government decided that fresh bread was very difficult to cut thinly
so, if everyone cut their loaves in thick slices, they would consume more. Additionally, the more
appetising taste of fresh baked bread could encourage people to eat it immoderately. Plans were put in
place to substitute the established white loaf with a national loaf made from wholemeal grain. It is a
loaf we are familiar with today but in 1918 many thought the taste and colour unappetising, and some
blamed it for a variety of digestive problems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the outbreak of war I looked upon taking life as a horrible and wicked thing something I, with my
religious training, could never do, and had genuine conscientious objections to becoming a soldier for
that reason, but as the weeks went by and instance after instance of Hun brutality the fruits of
militarism became common knowledge I had often to take myself to task. Before Xmas, 1914, the
truth dawned on me I had been selfish ignoring the fact that thousands of fine, brave fellows had
already given their lives good Christian men most of them and presumed to put my conscientious
objections before my country s need and the cause of God. The Germans have relinquished all claim
to humanity and have gravitated to the level of vermin even conscientious objectors must grant this.
Would they permit any other kind of vermin to do the same amount of evil and create as much misery
without attempting to exterminate it? A few months of active service teaches one a great deal, things
that once counted diminish to details of no importance; a man s reasoning power is broadened, he is
more balanced when coming to conclusions, and he becomes more reliable if more silent. In warfare,
particularly at that stage when a man meets a man, killing is merely a matter of self preservation your
opponent the aggressor is determined to rob you of your life the only effective way to prevent this is to
take his if you do not attempt to do so then you are guilty of self murder. When on lookout duty in a

Causes Of Water Scarcity
The Global Water Institute stated that approximately 700 million people in 43 countries are currently
suffering from water stress and scarcity in 2013 , by 2025 2.8 billion people will face water stress and
scarcity (Hameeteman, 2013, p.3). The global water supply is approximately 2.5% freshwater and
97.5% is saltwater (Hameeteman, 2013, p.4). Hence, it is crucial that the Earth s population tries to
manage the water stress and scarcity. There are many causes of water stress and scarcity, for instance:
overuse of water due to economic reasons, pollution of water, drought, governmental access and
policies, and many more. In Africa, many children and women are responsible in collecting water,
thus, traveling large distances to collect clean or unclean water. In addition, sanitation facilities are
inadequate causing half the population to suffer from waterborne diseases (Hameeteman, 2013, p.6).
As a result, unclean water and poor sanitation are a leading cause of illness and death in this region.
There are a few approaches to providing clean water to the African population, for example: piped
water, stand posts and wells. Moreover, poor sanitation can be alleviated with pit latrines, urine
diversion dry toilets and pour flush toilets (Septien, 2015). However, such methods can be expensive.
Hence, it is important to understand the household s income and the economic situation of the country.
Contrary, different strategies are needed to provide clean water in the developed

The Financial Struggles Of The Future
Everyday we are faced with the financial struggles of the future. As college students we are worried
about pay rent, bills, and wondering how many times we can defer our student loans because our bank
accounts are on E. Then here are words like savings, retirement, and 401 k plans and it is a completely
foreign language to us. In our heads, how is it even plausible to think about saving money, when all
we see in our current life is money just being taken from us. We spend so much on going through
college trying to get somewhere in life because we were always told you need a degree to make
money. So here we are 4 years later, diploma in hand, and started the career, but have 50,000 dollars in
student loans and trying to plan for when we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my head student loans were not an options because I did not want to owe a bank just because I
wanted to further my education. Thats when I decided that I would start out at a local college and
would transfer. After fighting with the university I wanted to go to and working in a nursing home, I
changed my major and ended up staying at the local college. Which made my tuition a whole lot less.
Although my tuition is now taken care of I still have to worry about rent, and bills. My part time job
barely covers everything, and if I were ever to get shorted on hours I would be tapping in to the weak
saving I have. So here I am living pay check to pay check and not only trying to plan and gauge my
future for the next 5, 10, 20 years but the big retirement. In my head I know how important it is
because I have watched my grandparents suffer over the years. My grandfather is 73 and works 6 days
a week so him and my grandmother can back pay everything they missed when she lost her job. I
know I don t want to be that old, and working that much. I will want to be taking care of grandkids
and traveling everywhere I haven t already seen.
With every good retirement plan there needs to be an end goal. My end goal is to live comfortably; I
do not need a fancy house or expensive things. I wanting to have a car and house completely paid off,
with no plan on moving into a retirement

RECOMMENDATIONS
AirAsia will be the best airline company as having the cheapest price tickets and letting everyone can
fly around the world. To remain leader in the market in serving customers, AirAsia has to re evaluate
their current strategy. Recommendation for improvement can be outlined as follows:
AirAsia should make any major changes to their strategy after proper technical and feasibility study to
avoid unnecessary risks.
Oil price is a big factor to low fare airlines. So this company should make longer contracts with fuel
suppliers for more stability.
As Airasia operates their fight very frequently, so they should have a spare aircraft at each location to
avoid delays.
AirAsia should consider environmentally friendly operation system as such as carbon offsetting to
save environment.
Extending current services into new markets may be helpful to further growth of this company. It is
possible to achieve this strategy by launching existing services into new geographical area or new
market segments.
Adding new routes and destinations are possible; especially there is growth Malaysia and East Asia

The contribution of George Martin (producer of Sgt Pepper) also played a major part in the success of
Sgt Pepper, his knowledge of classical music training is also apparent throughout the album.
This unique way of recording created a culturally significant album. They used innovative ideas in the
studio some of which were being used for the first time in history on such a commercial level thus
creating a genre very much their own. Using all the techniques in song writing and technology they
have made a lasting impact on popular music. Their ideas have helped redefine pop music as a
culturally significant art form. Sgt. Pepper has influenced so many other artists to explore different
styles and techniques in song writing and recording, it has opened new doors in to worldwide culture;
bringing together a collective of worldwide music into a single album which has lead the way in
defining popular music in our society.
Jonathan Gould describes it as a rich, sustained, and overflowing work of collaborative genius whose
bold ambition and startling originality dramatically enlarged the possibilities and raised the
expectations of what the experience of listening to popular music on record could be. (2008. Can t

Lyssavirus Research Paper
Rabies (lyssavirus) attacks the human s nervous system, and is later discharged in the saliva. The
lyssavirus keeps out of sight from the immune system, so there is no immune response and it is hard to
fight back with the hidden virus. If the person infected does not get immediate treatment, the disease
will evolve. After the person gets bitten, they should receive first aid immediately. After that, the only
way to stop the rabies from growing is a preventive treatment. The treatment is giving certain
immunoglobulin, which is an inactive immunization, and giving a normal vaccination, which is an

Mis De Los Familiares Analysis
The first and last time Miss Coronado crossed the border was in May of 1992. During this time

  • 2. The Weary Blues By Langston Hughes Tone Black Soul The Weary Blues by Langston Hughes illustrates someone singing blues on Lenox Avenue in the streets of Harlem, the tone of the poem and the location can imply that both the speaker and the singer are African American. Hughes uses the genre of blues to portray the significance to African American culture. He also utilizes melancholy tone and word choice to strengthen the connection to Blues style music. In addition, he writes the poem in free verse to mimic the pattern of speech and music. All of these aspects allow for Hughes to show the way of coping with the immense sadness developed by African American culture at the time. • 3. The Journey Essay The Journey is the first chapter in the book called Survival in Auschwitz, written by Primo Levi; which originally appeared in English under the title If This Is a Man in 1958. This first chapter brings you through Levi s journey from Turin, Italy to the work camp, Auschwitz, while detailing the routine of blatant inhumanity. The chapter begins as Levi states the fact that he was captured by the Fascist Militia when he was 24, only after being forced to flee into the mountains because of his segregated life filled with racial laws. The night he was captured, three fascist militia companies broke into their refuge and took him as a suspect person. While being interrogated, Levi decided to admit that he was an `Italian citizen of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Suddenly the Germans held the roll call. When completed, the officer asked the question `How Many? The corporal replied that there were 650 pieces, and that everything was in order. From there, the humans, who had just been referred to as `pieces were loaded onto busses and brought to a waiting train, this is where they received their first blows, the captives had to question themselves as of how these men can hit them without anger. Waiting for them were twelve goods wagons, the notorious transport trains, which would never return. Men, women, and children were herded inside and pressed together like merchandise; packed in for a journey with an undeclared destination. Next, everyone was packed in, the doors were shut, but the train didn t begin to move until the evening. When the trains began to move, the captives inside had finally learnt of their destination with relief; Auschwitz. This name meant nothing to them, but as long as they knew they were going somewhere, that was all that mattered. The train moved slowly, and through slits in the wagon, they could make out familiar cities, until everything familiar was out of sight. The passengers suffered from cold and thirst, but their constant pleas for something to quench their thirst, were dismissed. Through the slits in the wagon, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Improper use of empowerment can also impact negatively on such things as employees poor decision making 3 and management s fear of giving up control. However, employee empowerment has more positive impacts on the front desk operations and this paper will suggest how to overcome those negative aspects by showing the best practices used in hotel operations. Constraints One of the main constraints in this study is the limited access to certain research materials that might be relevant to certain aspects of the importance of empowering employees at front desk operations. All of the research will be based on interviews with hotel professionals in successful resorts located in Las Vegas and the use of published literature. • 6. The Negative Impacts Of Rock NRoll Rock N Roll made its first debut in the late 1940s, early 1950s. Creating a new genre of music based on heavy beats and simple melodies. As the years began to evolve so did the opinion of Rock N Roll. Rock N Roll began influencing people s everyday lives from their fashion, attitudes, and even language. The most influential genre found in Rock N Roll was heavy metal, due to its strong beats and violent or fantastic imagery. Motley Crue was neither the first nor the last heavy metal band in Rock N Roll. They were, however, the band social critics loved to hate. By placing Motley Crue within the development of heavy metal, one can discover how Rock N Roll, even in the 1980s, continued to divide American society. Motley Crue was founded in the early 1980s with numerous other astonishing heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Scorpion, Def Leppard, and Metallic. These bands choose to be associated with the genre heavy metal, because they knew the impact it would leave on their fan base. Yet many people had their doubts about this new style of music due to its negative outlooks. Heavy metal was believed to split our society by encouraging rebellious tendencies against authority figures such as parents, adults, schools, and the work force. Even after all these negative impact heavy metal recieved, it did not stop Motley Crue from continuing to produce the music they believed to explain their feelings at the time. This also showed others that their style of music ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Imperialism In The Congo Research Paper In the Congo, many people were affected by Imperialism in many different ways. For some people were shamed, had curfews, and some were often banned from white people establishments. Therefore, it was like segregation to the Congolese people. They had religion forced onto them by the Roman Catholic and some Protestant Churches. However, they gained formal education systems and slowly improved their healthcare. The government even sponsored teaching a handful of languages in the schools. When imperialism first hit, the Congo experienced withdrawal of resources due to lack of farming, therefore having a small population was vital to the Congolese people would support themselves. It was not until after the Congo gained their independence back, did the population start to grow back. Sadly, among the small population in the Congo, most were receiving callus treatment from Leopold and many died in war, or from starvation, slavery, and also disease. • 8. Montana Tribe Research Paper I felt that it was incredibly important to learn the background in all Montana Tribes and history first before choosing a tribe to learn more about. Long before Montana became known as the last best place, Indian people knew this area as the first best place (Whitford, p.2). The Native Americans were promised many things. That they still have not received to this day. Later in the 1800 s, treaties started to begin between the U.S. Government and the Native Americans (Whitford, p.2). The treaties were over the land. In Montana, there are twelve tribal nations. Only eleven have their own homelands. This is because they have either treaties set or have an order. The only Tribe that doe not have their own homeland is Little Shell Band of Chippewa (Whitford, p.3). I think it is very important to understand that each Tribe has its own story about what happened between them as a tribe and the U.S. Government (Whitford, p. 3). Vascular dementia is known to affect the thinking process and older people are generally more prone to developing this disorder. Vascular Dementia, also known as multi infarct dementia, occurs when cells in the brain are deprived of oxygen. Which older people are more prone to blockage of these arteries Correspondingly, there are two pathways that transports blood to the brain called internal carotid artery and vertebral artery. The internal carotid artery has three layers call the tunica adventitia, tunica media, and tunica intima. Tunica intima is made up of smooth muscle cells and elastin. The basilar artery forms and it branches out to the posterior cerebral arteries. The posterior cerebral arteries form the internal carotid arteries and when they connect they make cerebral arterial circle ( circle of willis). The middle cerebral arteries branch out two separate arteries called the anterior cerebral arteries. Each of these arteries are the force that direct the blood flow to the brain. There are three tiny vascular systems that work together to profuse the deep brain. Which are the pial, subependymal, and lenticulostriate arteries. The small area of white matter that depends on blood flow is called the subcortical shed water area. The subcortical is more prone than other areas of the brain to have ischemia. The leading cause of ischemia is the fibrin builds up and this cause a narrowing of the lumen. Which does not allow the flow of red blood cells and deprives the white matter of tissue of oxygen. The tissue then losses density and produces white matter lesions. The neurons become demyelinated which leads to loss of cognitive ability. There was a total of nine Crusades, but not all of them were battles. In 1212, somewhere between the fourth and fifth crusades there was a peasant revolt. This revolt was presumably spurred by the many failed crusades in the previous years as well as the desire to regain the Holy Land. Incredibly, this revolt was made up of thousands of children. As before mentioned there were two groups in the Children s Crusade, the second being the German children. This group was gathered up much like the first, but instead of Stephen of Cloyes it was led by a young German boy called Nicholas of Colongne. Paula is the woman who walked into doors [1] because she explains her cuts, bruises, and broken bones by her clumsiness walking into doors, falling down stairs rather than their real causes, her husband s violent physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. This euphemism shows the contradiction of subaltern speech: it can suggest and imply but it cannot truly speak in a language that society is willing or able to decode. In fact, the entire novel rests on the inherent contradiction of subaltern speech because Paula, a subaltern figure, narrates the entire book. • 20. Murray Bowen Differentiation Of Self The term Differentiation refers to a developmental process when a skill becomes more sophisticated and broken into subsets. According to Professor Murray Bowen, differentiation of self is one s ability to separate one s own intellectual and emotional functioning from that of family. He states, The one most important goal of family systems therapy is to help family members toward a better level of differentiation of self. Murray is saying that through family therapy, one can develop their true self. He continues by saying that families are actually stuck to each other and this background affects a person/people. Bowan talks about someone with low differentiation and describes them as being sewn to family emotions. People with low differentiation depend more on others for acceptance and approval. They either conform to others or attempt to force others to conform to themselves. These particular people become more vulnerable to the deterioration of stress. Having a well differentiated self is ideal in life. In family therapy, the triangle method is often used. He states, There was a different emphasis on the triangle between self and parents, which is the most important primary triangle in life. The relationship with self and parents develops a background that could change someone s life. Whenever two people are having issues with each other, they may triangle in a third participant. How Personal Values and Beliefs Influenced the Black American Slave Narrative: Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass Compared. Throughout the abolition movement, both men and women slaves were trying to escape from slavery, and find their way to freedom in the North. Many of wrote their stories down. Some with the aid of ghost writers, and often under pseudonyms to protect their safety. These slave narratives spoke of the sufferings of the slave experience in America (Campbell 1). Because black men and black woman experienced slavery differently, they wrote about them differently. Those differences can be seen in a comparison of Frederick Douglass s, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave (1845), and of Harriet A. Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Written by Herself (1861). Jacobs and Douglass have similar backgrounds. Both write of their experiences while enslaved, yet as their narratives are compared a distinction can be made between the core values and purposes between the two. Douglass s audience is towards anyone who will listen, and underscores the brutal violence, and dehumanization of the American slave. Jacob s views are more emotional and directed towards the upper class white woman whose sympathies she believes will align with her own as a mother and a woman. What is decision making? Defining decision making is a hard task just as it would be to define knowledge: it is a process we use on a daily basis, but when it comes to find a way to describe how it works we encounter many obstacles. That is due to the fact that each one of us has his/her unique decision making process, which is continuously built in time. Fans are used mainly for creating a current of air or breeze, especially a machine using an electric motor to rotate and in order to move air that is used for cooling the area. The problem of the proposal leading to making a change in convincing the school to provide fans in different areas can come in many different ways. There are several problems that I want to discuss that leads to schools providing fans to different areas. It includes that without fans in the school area it can affect your health status, it can lead to dehydration in which your body loses more water than it takes in and it can also lead to death. The first problem of the fans not being provided to different parts of the school area is that it can lead to affecting your health. In general, a fan helps to cool the surrounding when people are inside their rooms during the day. When there is no presence of fan, most people would sweat and in a hot area with no cold atmosphere coming in through it could lead to suffocation due to the presence of much heat. The second problem is that it can lead to dehydration. In this aspect where a place or a surrounding is hot you would sweat. This will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Ex Conscientious Objectors In Ww1 Bread was not rationed, but by law had to be sold by weight and not by the loaf. Even so, the government took steps to decrease its consumption further by banning the sale of bread until twelve hours after it had been baked. The government decided that fresh bread was very difficult to cut thinly so, if everyone cut their loaves in thick slices, they would consume more. Additionally, the more appetising taste of fresh baked bread could encourage people to eat it immoderately. Plans were put in place to substitute the established white loaf with a national loaf made from wholemeal grain. It is a loaf we are familiar with today but in 1918 many thought the taste and colour unappetising, and some blamed it for a variety of digestive problems. ... At the outbreak of war I looked upon taking life as a horrible and wicked thing something I, with my religious training, could never do, and had genuine conscientious objections to becoming a soldier for that reason, but as the weeks went by and instance after instance of Hun brutality the fruits of militarism became common knowledge I had often to take myself to task. Before Xmas, 1914, the truth dawned on me I had been selfish ignoring the fact that thousands of fine, brave fellows had already given their lives good Christian men most of them and presumed to put my conscientious objections before my country s need and the cause of God. The Germans have relinquished all claim to humanity and have gravitated to the level of vermin even conscientious objectors must grant this. Would they permit any other kind of vermin to do the same amount of evil and create as much misery without attempting to exterminate it? A few months of active service teaches one a great deal, things that once counted diminish to details of no importance; a man s reasoning power is broadened, he is more balanced when coming to conclusions, and he becomes more reliable if more silent. In warfare, particularly at that stage when a man meets a man, killing is merely a matter of self preservation your opponent the aggressor is determined to rob you of your life the only effective way to prevent this is to take his if you do not attempt to do so then you are guilty of self murder. • 42. Causes Of Water Scarcity The Global Water Institute stated that approximately 700 million people in 43 countries are currently suffering from water stress and scarcity in 2013 , by 2025 2.8 billion people will face water stress and scarcity (Hameeteman, 2013, p.3). The global water supply is approximately 2.5% freshwater and 97.5% is saltwater (Hameeteman, 2013, p.4). Hence, it is crucial that the Earth s population tries to manage the water stress and scarcity. There are many causes of water stress and scarcity, for instance: overuse of water due to economic reasons, pollution of water, drought, governmental access and policies, and many more. In Africa, many children and women are responsible in collecting water, thus, traveling large distances to collect clean or unclean water. In addition, sanitation facilities are inadequate causing half the population to suffer from waterborne diseases (Hameeteman, 2013, p.6). As a result, unclean water and poor sanitation are a leading cause of illness and death in this region. There are a few approaches to providing clean water to the African population, for example: piped water, stand posts and wells. Moreover, poor sanitation can be alleviated with pit latrines, urine diversion dry toilets and pour flush toilets (Septien, 2015). However, such methods can be expensive. Hence, it is important to understand the household s income and the economic situation of the country. Contrary, different strategies are needed to provide clean water in the developed ...
