Racism By Kwame Anthony Appiah
Racism is a widely discussed topic, and everyone agrees that it is something that only causes
harm. People with racist views can view others from other groups as people who are lesser than
them and might use physically actions to show their dislike. In response to that, more and more
people are having their own ideas of how to identify and end racism. For example, Kwame Anthony
Appiah who brought out the idea of extrinsic racism, the perspective of utilitarianism, and the
Kantian ethic are views that show why racism is wrong and how it can be ended. Kwame Anthony
Appiah who wrote Racisms , believes that extrinsic racism is when people has a belief that different
races are different genetically and that results in different treatments. members of different races
differ in respects that warrant the differential treatment, respects, such as honesty or courage or
intelligence that are controversially held (held at least in most contemporary cultures) to be
acceptable as basis for treating people differently. (p.691) This is morally wrong to Appiah because
it is not true at all. Humans are humans, even if there are different races, the genes that contributes
to race does not set different races intelligence and moral standards, it is the teaching and
environment that shapes the people. the genes that account for the gross morphological differences
that underlie our standard racial categories are not linked to those genes that determine, to whatever
degree such matters

Persuasive Speech On Spotting Scope
They say that there s a right tool for every job. In the case of spotting scopes, their job is to
provide close up visual access to anything on land while staying a safe distance away. Something of
a cross between binoculars and a telescope, spotting scopes have uses from nature photography, bird
watching, and even hunting.
While a telescope is usually used at night to observe the stars, a spotting scope is meant only to be
used during the day. When comparing a spotting scope to a telescope or a set of binoculars, there are
some important distinctions, such as the size and the level of magnification.
Today I ll be discussing the best spotting scopes as well as how to choose the right one for your
needs. Whether you need a scope for spotting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simply put, the larger the aperture, the more light comes in. If you want a beautiful, clear, bright
image, choose a scope with a sufficiently large aperture. Since spotting scopes are meant to be
used during the daytime, a large aperture will help you capture the best image possible, even if the
sky is overcast or darker than usual.
If you are uп»їsing the scope for hunting, a bright image will help you identify your prey much
easier, making you more efficient in your process.
Durability
Because spotting scopes are meant to be used outdoors, many times this means that they are brought
into rough terrain. If you plan on carrying your scope into the wilderness, you have to be prepared
for any eventuality, including severe weather. Make sure that your spotting scope is as weather
proof as possible, and hopefully, it can withstand drops or bumps without damaging the internal
components.
In addition to the scope itself, make sure the tripod you use is just as rugged and dependable.
You don t want to have your scope fall over because of a weak tripod, so make sure the unit and all
accessories are hardened against the weather as much as possible.

Taking a Look at the Management Process
An organizations goals and objectives can be accomplished through leadership. Leadership refers to
inspire people to contribute and perform well in the management. It is a role of management and
leading others towards the achievement of the common goals (Channappa, 2012). Daft (2012)
reported that In today s world, industries, technologies, economies, governments, and societies are
in constant flux, and managers are responsible for helping their organizations navigate through the
unpredictable with flexibility and innovation (p. 4). A good manager is needed in every management
because he or she is the one who determine the successes and future of the management (Daft,
2012). He or she is also the one to persevere unremittingly in facing the failure. As elaborated by
Griffin Ebert (1996), there are four vital steps in the management process which are planning,
organizing, leading and controlling (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1). The first step in the
management process is planning. The process starts with managers setting the objectives and
identifying the goals to ensure that mission is achieved (Daft, 2012). Firstly, an overall plan is
developed by managers to ensure that the management runs smoothly and effectively in long term
(Daft, 2012). The future of an organization to be heading and how to achieve them is determined
by the manager (Daft, 2012). The second step in the planning is the managers analyze the risks
facing their organization in terms of

Boston Beer Company SWOT Analysis
The Boston Beer Company is currently the largest craft beer company in the United States,
however, the craft beer industry is growing in an otherwise shrinking market increasing the amount
of serious competition that The Boston Beer Company is facing.
In order to stay on top of the industry, The Boston BeerCompany needs to find new, innovative
ways of being the most appealing craft beer available to the average consumer. While The Boston
Beer Company offers many different varieties of seasonal beer, they should begin to shift their
focus to year round specialty beers, such as a line of regional flavors based on their consumer s
regional taste preferences.

The committee will then determine the cities with the most potential to move forward with.
Representatives from the Real Estate Department will search the area for existing small, already
existing brewery locations available to lease or rent. If no pre existing locations are available,
then competitors with the potential to buy out will be identified. Ideally, leases will be signed
for a 7 year term, with the option to extend the lease after 5 years. All locations should be
determined by the end of the third quarter. As soon as the areas are identified, members of the
Human Resource Department will begin searching for Brew Master to run and operate each of the
new nano brewery locations. These Brew Masters can be identified from current brewery locations
or from competitors local to the new locations. Training on the methods and policies of the Boston
Beer Company should be immediately upon identification.
Boston Beer Company should then conduct regional market studies to determine potential flavors
for each specific region based off existing local craft breweries and popular regional flavor
combinations. Each smaller market study should be conducted by local consulting firms who
already have an understanding of the demographics and culture of the region they are studying.

Adelaide s Beaches Analysis
The coast is the buffer between terrestrial land and the marine, it is the boundary of where land
meets water which is known as the coastline. Tides, waves and currents are what help form
coastlines. However, when waves meet or crash on the shore, they erode the land, leaving behind
tiny parts of the sea such as shells, seaweed and marine life. Although, over the past 30 years
central beaches are continually eroding because sand is pushed along the coastby waves. (BAC
Australia, n.d) Coastlines are badly affected by erosion and The Coast Protection Board is urgently
needed to protect and manage Adelaide s beaches. Without them managing the beaches, several of
Adelaide s southern metropolitan beaches will be left with very little sand on them.... Show more

Geological history has ancient records of Australia being connected to Antarctica land mass,
being apart of Gondwanaland. This mass of land was mainly above sea level, which began to
change due to the tertiary period because of extreme climates and erosion. Australia was separated
from Gondwanaland approximately 55 million years ago. (Department for environmental heritage
and Aboriginal Affairs, n.d) The separation of the continents occurred along the continent that is
now known as the southern boundary. (ibid) The what seems like simple separation of land
caused huge movements and resurfaced a lot of land. For example, the St Vincent basin which is
located north/south of Australia was dramatically changed and formed step able rocks, and the
Adelaide hills were also formed. Sea levels were also dramatically sunken 120 meters below the
average level than what sea levels show today. In the 21st century the movements still exist and
happen daily, however, that are at a very slow rate.

Good People, by David Foster Wallace Essay
David Foster Wallace s Good People, is a very touching, powerful story about a young, unwed,
Christian couple facing an extremely difficult decision and the moral and religious implications
that may result. As the story begins, we are allowed into the head of Lane Dean, a college student,
as he sits on a park bench with his girlfriend, Sheri. Lane and Sheri find themselves faced with an
unplanned pregnancy, which causes them to battle with several moral and religious dilemmas.
Both of them are devout Christians who have built their moral beliefs upon God and their religious

When Wallace writes ...the air suffused with honeysuckle and lilacs both, which was almost too
much (1) readers can literally almost catch a whiff of the honeysuckle and lilacs in the air.
Wallace s precise and purposeful style of language allows us to get a true feeling for Lane, our
protagonist, and the terror, desperation and nervousness he feels in making a horribly difficult
decision. He hated himself for sitting so frozen. He could almost visualize himself tiptoeing past
something explosive. A big stupid looking tiptoe, like in a cartoon. The whole last black week had
been this way and it was wrong (1) portrays the sheer terror and desperation that Lane is feeling.
Wallace tells this story from a limited omniscience point of view, only allowing us into Lane s
head. This point of view complements Lane s character as well as the tone of this story as it
helps to set the frightened and worried mood of the story as it permits us, as readers, to
experience the inner conflict and desperation that Lane is feeling. The setting, in my opinion,
has hints of foreshadowing that work nicely with Lane s inner conflict. When Wallace writes
[t]hey were up on a picnic table at that park by the lake, by the edge of the lake... (1) the word
edge prompts a feeling that the story is on the verge of change. When Wallace writes of springtime
and storms , it provokes a feeling of newness and change. In my opinion, all of the literary elements

Deadly and Destructive Hurricanes
Deadly and destructive. These are two words that describe the horrible natural disaster we now
call a hurricane. An average hurricane can cause thousands, millions, or billions of dollars in
repairs! Scientists are always trying to warn people when a hurricane could be coming, but even
scientists make mistakes so, just like other natural disasters, you should always be prepared if a
hurricane does come your way. A hurricane can be very deadly if people are not prepared or on
high land. A hurricane can be very deadly and destructive even if you are ready for the oncoming
hurricane. Deadly and destructive.
A hurricane is a huge, swirling storm with winds ranging from 74 MPH to over 155 MPH
(Manolis 5, 10 11). The name hurricane comes from the name of the god of evil and wind
(Gibbons 3, Woods and Woods 6). A hurricane starts when warm, evaporated water rises at the eye.
This air spins upwards and sucks up more water and water vapor. If the temperature of the water
gets up to or more than 81 degrees Fahrenheit, the winds get stronger, and cumulonimbus clouds are
formed. The whole
process keeps getting bigger and rain starts to fall. When the wind speed is up to 74 MPH, the
storm is called a hurricane (Gibbons 4 5).
Hurricanes are classified with the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Sale. This scale was created around
1970, when Herbert Saffir and Robert Simpson invented it so meteorologists could warn people
about hurricanes (Gibbons 9). The hurricane scale has five

Analysis of My Antonia by Willa Carter Essay
My Antonia is a classic story originally published in 1918 by Willa Cather. Cather was a famous
author in the early mid 1900s, placing her work in an era of a formal, illustrative, sophisticated
writing style. She wrote numerous books about life on the great plains, where she was born and

and the public continues to praise her work almost a century after its publishing date. Her free

Jim s relationship with Antonia shapes him as a character and provides him with the tools to grow
from a child to a young adult.
Main Idea/ Theme My Antonia is a philosophical story, with dream like ideas left and right. Even
so, the book s main theme was clearly the transition or journey from childhood to adulthood. This
theme applied to both the main characters, Jim and Antonia, who were children when the story
begins and adults when it ends. At ten years old, Jim Burden moved to the plains of Black
Hawk, Nebraska. His parents had died in an epidemic, and Jim was sent to live with his father s
parents on their Nebraska farm. In his new home, he met a Bohemian girl named Antonia, a free
spirited, lively, unique personality. He fell in love with her, and although his feelings were not
returned, he and Antonia became great friends. The book has numerous examples of traditional
obstacles that people their ages go through, along with additional hardships such as poverty and
death of close family members. Antonia developed a sense of independence that became her most
prominent trait throughout the book. The characters found activities and places where they felt
like they belonged, and they began to discover who they were. As Jim (the narrator) states, The
new country lay open before me: there were no fences in those days, and I could choose my own
way over the grass uplands, trusting the pony to get me home again. Jim was speaking of a place

Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine History
Prince William Forest Park YM Sgt. John Williams Date Established: November 14 1936
Location: Prince William County, Virginia Landmarks: Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine, One day a
Baltimore man named John Detrick was hiking along Quantico Creek during which near the
meeting of the North and South Forks, he noticed something gleaming in the water. It was
Pyrite, known commonly as fool s gold and Iron Sulfide. One of the great ironies of this area
was that Pyrite would prove more profitable than the real gold found in the Greenwood Gold
Mine. The Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine began operations in 1889. The large number of patents in
the mid nineteenth century and industrial growth after the Civil War made pyrite profitable.
Sulfur was a necessary ingredient in several household products such as soap, textiles, paper, and
fertilizer. When World War I began, the Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine contributed to the production
of gunpowder. After World War I, the price of pyrite dropped. Nationwide, in many industries,
workers struck. While there is no evidence of union activity, workers at the Cabin Branch Mine
started to strike in 1920. They demanded a 50 cent raise. By this time, cheaper sources of sulfur
were found overseas. The mine closed later that year Greenwood Gold mine, The Greenwood gold

A natural monopoly is an industry in which one business already exists is not economical because

transporting troops, aircraft and equipment from the United Kingdom to the operational theatre.
Further, the British at that has limited number of ships required for the long transit of troops,

New Frontier Philosophy
According to the more factor of Laurence Shames, the frontier belief that America would keep on
booming has rooted deeply in American s way of life while it still influents the American people in
the twenty first century. This could be reflected in two aspects, which are the motivation of advance
and the desire to own more. On one hand, the new frontier philosophy pushes the American people
to achieve progress in different areas, which is well embodied in the advancement of technology. In
the 1960s, the technology of railroad went through a flourishing period because people were
encouraged to explore the new area in this continent to build new residency and industry
construction there. Thus, large freight transportation was needed to

Carl Freud And Freud s Three Stages Of Development
The third stage of development in Freudian theory is the Phallic stage , which starts at the age of
three and goes on until the age of six. During this particular stage according to Freud, children
are said to take pleasure in their genitals and they also struggle with sexual desires, especially
strong desires towards their opposite sex parent (girl desiring her father and boy desiring his
mother). This kind of behavior in boys is called as Oedipus complex , which according to Freud
means that the boys during this stage desire their mother and want to replace their fathers, who
are seen to be seeking the mother s attention, because of this desire the boy is afraid that his
father might find out and punish the boy by the process of castration(cutting off the penis) due
to which they may develop castration anxiety. And the same desire called Electra complex
which is the desire developed in girls for their fathers and in the thought of replacing their
mothers is discussed during later on by Carl Jung. This stage helps in the development of
Superego in life. The fourth stage of development according to Freudian theory is the Latency
stage , which starts at age six and continued until puberty or twelve years of age. During this
particular stage, the child s sexual desires than to subside and they start to additionally develop
their conscience or superego. They begin to act and behave socially accepted by learning
appropriate values from their parents or caregivers as their sex instincts are sublimated into
hobbies, school activities, and sports and they also start focusing on developing and maintaining
same sex friendships amongst their groups. The fifth and last stage of development according to
the Freudian theory is the Genital stage , which starts from puberty to adulthood. During this
particular stage, the sexual desire re emerges if every stage was developed correctly. In this stage,
adolescents join in appropriate sexual behavior with their partners and develop a secure relationship
which can later lead to lifelong commitment, marriage and focus more on reproducing their future
offsprings through sexual intercourse. During this stage, individuals find satisfaction in their work
and love. In order

Cobalt is of relatively low abundance in the Earth s crust and in natural waters, from which it is
precipitated as the highly insoluble cobalt sulfine CoS.
The world s major producers of cobalt are the Democratic Republic of the Congo, mainland China,
Zambia, Russia and Australia. It is also found in Finland, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan.
World production is 17.000 tonnes per year.
Cobalt cannot be destroyed once it has entered the environment. It may react with other particles
or adsorb on soil particles or water sediments. Cobalt will only mobilize under acidic conditions,
but ultimately most cobalt will end up in soils and sediments. Soils that contain very low
amounts of cobalt may grow plants that have a deficiency of cobalt. When animals graze on these
grounds they suffer from lack of cobalt, which is essential for them. Cobalt is usually recovered as
a byproduct of mining and refining nickel, silver, lead, copper and

Field Education Goals
The children/youth had great ambitions and goals for their future. Therefore, I encouraged
them to keep God in their life and to obey their parents, teachers, and their leaders. Therefore,
being obedient is valuable, and it will take them a long way in life, and help them to become
successful. However, some stated they wanted to play different sports; others wanted to become
doctors, and lawyers. I replied always keep God first in your life; whatever your dreams always
seek the Lord and He will direct your path. They were encouraged and they were determined to do
their part, and to depend on the Lord to bring it to pass. The younger children had great expectations
too. They wanted to be teachers, doctors, and nurses. They also said; I can do all things through
Christ which strengthened me.
Therefore, as we proceeded into the eighth week; we discussed different people of the Bible. Our
discussions came from some of these books, I Samuel, Psalms, Matthew, and others. I continued to

Case Law And Other Legal Literature
Recent case law has clearly bright to the fore the benefits of property owners declaring their
beneficial interests. Over the years, the UK tenancy law and especially Joint tenancy law, has held
the intention part of the parties in a joint tenancy contract under presumption . Declaration of
interests at the onset of any propertytransaction serves to provide clarity about parties intention and
may help in the future to avoid disputes. This essay seeks to establish the various intention
uncertainties that are the cause of peril for the UK joint tenancy and tenancy in common lawand the
best ways to go about them. This will be done through reference to case law and other legal
literature.
For property joint owners, there has always been some uncertainty especially for those who have
not made express declaration of their interests. During the Stack v Dowden case, it was expected
that the House of Lords would clarify the position, but the House s decisions, as well as the
subsequent of the Supreme Court in Jones v Kernott , have only served to demonstrate the complex
issues surrounding this particular legislation.
Joint ownership
In cases where two or more individuals purchase a property in joint names, the law states that the
parties involved will hold the legal estate as joint tenants and the beneficial interest in the property
as either joint tenants or tenants in common . While joint tenants are entitled to an equal share of
the property, tenants in common are able to

The best thing to give someone is a chance. If someone makes a mistake then you should forgive
him or her and start over, and over and over. In Things Change forgiveness is all Johanna knows.
No matter the mistake she always gives Paul another chance, even when it becomes difficult,
harmful and deadly. I can describe the importance of room 127, a memory, the firebird as a safe
and deadly place, and chocolate chip ice cream as an apology. Room 127 is a room full of
despair for Paul. In that room is where he goes to be alone, to think, to be like his father. Room
127 holds nothing more than memories of a pathetic man and a computer, which Paul uses to
talk to him. The computer holds many letters that say everything about Paul s life, everything
his father never got to hear from him or experience because of his death. Paul uses the computer
and those words for a sense of closure, telling his dad what he though of him and all of the
mistakes he made, while he drinks his sorrows away just like his father. Leaving Paul was one of
the worst things his father could have done, following the note that he left: Dear Paul I am
leaving, please tell your mother. Everything is going to be okay. Trust me, Dad (Jones 162). Now

vast amount of their supplies from organic farms and other Fairtrade suppliers. Furthermore they
get a small amount of their produce from the small amount of farms which they own, one
example is Leckford Farm. At this particular farm they would be able to supply a small amount of
produce to a local Waitrose store in the surrounding area. The suppliers are an important
stakeholder to any supermarket because if the supplier delivers stock for the supermarket late then
Waitrose would not be able to continue with selling that particular item until the stock is delivered,
furthermore if this item is bought regularly by customers then there would be a lot of complaints
unless there would be stock reserved in case an issue such as this would occur. The

The Importance Of The National Anthem
The decision, made by Colin Kaepernick and a handful of other NFL players, to kneel or sit down
during the playing of the American Nation Anthem is an immature and disrespectful gesture to this
country and to our flag. There are better more respectful ways to protest and put out word about
your cause. While it is our first amendment right to not stand up for the National Anthem, it is my
opinion that kneeling for the flag shows disrespect for this country, our armed forces, and the flag
itself.
The flag has a section of code in the U.S. law books called the flag code. This was adopted on
June 14, 1923, by the National Flag Conference which Navy and Army representatives attended.
Title 4 chapter 1 section 9 states, All other persons present should face the flag and stand at
attention with their right hand over the heart, or if applicable, remove their headdress with their
right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. While there are no legal
repercussions to violating these codes, it shows a great disrespect to the flag and to the country.
This section of code also states that citizens of other countries should stand in attention to show
respect for the nation.
A great example of a foreign athlete showing respect to the United States National Anthem would
be Usain Bolt. During a trackside interview that was being conducted with Mr. Bolt, the U.S.
National Anthem started to play at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, Usain politely interrupted

the data mining process. More recent research on data mining and knowledge discovery
w20,26,27x has further enhanced our understanding of the application of data mining and the

process of pattern discovery and a narrow set of applications such as fraud detection or risk

environment, there is a need for a simple and integrated framework for a systematic management of
customer knowledge. But, there is a surprising lack of a simple and overall framework to link the
extraction of customer knowledge with the management and application of the knowledge,
particularly in the context of marketing decisions. While data mining studies have focused on the
techniques, customer relationship studies have focused on the interface to the customer and the
strategies to manage customer interactions. True customer relationship management is possible
only by integrating the knowledge discovery process with the management and use of the
knowledge for marketing strategies. This will help marketers address customer needs based on

The Moral Principle Of The Right
The moral principle of the right to die, is a way of thinking where a human being has the choice
to end their life on their own terms. The right to die, also known as physician assisted suicide, is
heavily contemplated in patients who are diagnosed as terminally ill. Being diagnosed as
terminally ill may come at any point in one s life. Once a patient is given this news it puts a
greater weight on their shoulders as now they must adjust to accommodate a new reality. Many
patients fear that their near future will consist of becoming a burden to their family members
financially as well as mentally, since they may not be able to afford the medical bills. Those who
are terminally ill may worry that they are not going to be able to control their level of pain when it
worsens as their physical condition deteriorates. With the diagnosis of a terminal disease many
believe what follows will be unnecessary suffering that is brought on by the symptoms, many of
which individuals would avoid at all costs. Currently there are only four states that have the Right
to Die Law enacted; California, Oregon, Washington, and Vermont. Within these states patients
have the option of physician assisted suicide, if their medical condition meets certain requirements
to obtain this option. Terminally ill patients who live outside of these four states do not have the
option of physician assisted suicide available to them. In this position paper I argue, that enacting a

How To Do Things With Words Analysis
In How to do Things with Words , Austin tells how some words are actually used in speaking
and how others are merely utterances. How are utterances so important if it is only a simple
statement that is being made? Why does society put so much value on these statements, such as
I do ? First we must establish what exactly an utterance is according to Austin is. According to
Austin, an utterance is a spoken word or sound that is made to provide information. Sometime
these words are understood other times it may just be a sound that does not make sense at all. A
popular utterance that is used heavily is the I do statement used in weddings. Why does such a
simple statement have so much weighing on it? These two simple words mean so much to the
two people that are getting married. For them it means that they are choosing to spend the rest of
their lives together. A question proposed by Austin is why isn t a full statement used at weddings
since it is so important? Is it much simpler to use a two worded phrase instead of a longer
sentence? I believe that the answer is yes, it is much simpler to use a shorter phrase rather than a
much longer statement. This can relate to how in today s society everything is has a much simpler...

Office of Grants Giveaway (OGG) the company allocates medical donations to hospitals. The
Health Body Wellness Center s (HBWC) through OGG takes an initiative of tracking the grants
distributed to small hospitals, to achieve this, the company has contracted We Automate Anything
(WAA) and given them the responsibility of implementing the small hospital grant tracking system.
This system enables them to allocate and track the gifts within a specified period. OGG assigns
awards to one hospital and follows how they have been utilized within a period of one month. The
unused portion of the subsidy is recalled and issued to another hospital. This is done in a
continuous and rotational manner.
The organization has a security objective of protecting the database from being altered. Since the
data is held in the system, there are regulations that have been set to the users, and there are also
limits to the functions that each user performs. In this case, there are three categories of users each
with clearly defined responsibilities. For instance, the administration team has been given full
control of the application in that they can even alter codes and perform any variations to the
database objects. The other groups of users are the executives; these have the ability to access all
the information

Theme Of Masculinity In If And Do Not Go Gentle
What images of masculinity appear in If and Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night? How do
the two poems compare? (30)
In both If and Do not go gentle, there is an obvious theme of masculinity flowing through both
poems.
In If Rudyard Kipling has written the poem to showcase what unspoken rules you should follow to
be a good man. Many of the descriptions following very masculine stereotypes. In line four and
five, Kipling writes, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, but make allowance for
their doubting too; . Kipling prompts the individual to preserve a sense of self even when that
self is threatened by the outside world. Nonetheless, he also advises against erring too far in the
other direction and conducting the risk of isolation, self righteousness, and ignorance. Kipling is
proposing a middle path. Rather than deciding to live life a certain one way (trusting yourself) or
the other (doubting yourself when others do), he inspires the reader to both trust yourself and
allow for the world s and your own doubts. On the other hand, Kipling may appear to be middle of
the road, a people pleaser, afraid to confront adversary. Creating his confrontation of opposition
through his writing, instead of lashing out.
Whereas in Do not go gentle , Dylan Thomas shows that men can still show emotion and have
intense feelings, but also be seen as masculine. But Thomas also says that to be good all your life
could devise regrets when on your death bed, in

The Rise Of Hezbollah
Origin and Rise in Influence The origins of Hezbollah can be traced from the residual effects of
oppression the Shiite community faced by Christians and Sunni elites (Masters and Laub, 2014).
However, the tipping point came after the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, that same year
Hezbollah was formed with the help of Iran; ideologies stemming from the ones displayed during
the Iranian Revolution (Masters and Laub, 2014). Hezbollahgained legitimacy when they repelled
the French and American peacekeepers from Lebanonthen ultimately caused by the withdrawal of
Israeli forces (Global Security, n.d.). Iran s support came with the agreement that with their support
the newly formed Hezbollah would establish an Islamic Republic within Lebanon... Show more

The civil war was the catalyst that nurtured Hezbollah enough so that their influence would
transform form just a thorn on the Lebanese government side to a political party having their own
seat at the table (Wiegand, 2009). Hezbollah s political ambitions have not affected their terrorist
activities however, from political infiltration, guerilla force capability, a media empire to global
organized crime syndicates (Wiegand, 2009). Boasting some of the most well trained operatives in
their military faction, Hezbollah continues to operate politically and militaristically (Badran, 2009).
The United Nation created a distinction between their political and military factions, which allowed
them to avoid the United Nation s terrorist list and similarly, the British government only
blacklisted their military wing (Badran, 2009). However, Hezbollah s leadership remained adamant
that no such distinction exist between the two that they operate congruently (Badran, 2009). This
further reinforces Hezbollah s ambition to see their Islamic Republic come to fruition; actions
whether violent or politically are the means they use to accomplish this (Wiegand,

Sacrifice In The Book Of Romans
The Book of Romans was written by the Apostle Paul to the church in Rome while he himself
was in Corinth. The church at Rome, which was mixed with Jewish and Gentile saints. Paul,

Rome, sacrifice was not foreign. Rome was a city whose with numerous gods, many of them
having multiple roles to meet the various needs of Rome. Growing up in Rome one was very
familiar with sacrifices. As a christian we have to make sure that Godgets the glory out of
everything that we do. In order for God to truly get the glory out of our lives, we have to be
consecrated for his use. Not an on and off again relationship, but to be wholly consecrated to the
spiritual service of God. Jesussacrificed himself on the cross that we might have an opportunity to

Jesus, when he was sacrificed was our first God s fist living sacrifice , now as his followers we
must present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable
service. It s only what we are susposed to be doing anyway. If I can help someone out, Sacrifice
is Painful! When jesus was on the cross it was not on a bed of ease, he had to go through so
much pain for us because he bore the sin, sickness, depression, opression, disappointment...
anything you can think of he bore it on the cross for you and I. So while you are fasting, praying,
seeking God, denying your flesh and striving to enter into the kingdom of heaven, we realize that
we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. And having these promises, let
us not forget, If we suffer (((WITH))) him, we shall reign with him. If we can but endure
hardships, suffering for his sake, suffering with him as our king and ruler, if we can do this in life,

people do not trust and be aggressive to each other. In Malaysia, racial tension has deepened
recently. The Indian government has released an advisory for its foreign students that studying in
Australia which showed that racial tension appeared around the White and Indian. Racial tension
between the Han and Uighur communities in Xinjiang, Chinawas enhanced in July 2009. There are

some religions are mostly held by certain races. Most of people have religion when these is a

religion. Meanwhile, religion is their spiritual sustenance. To them, their religions are together

They will be very supportive and oppose those who cross them. Normally, people won t criticise

The Three Major Arguments For The Existence Of God
Some of the three major arguments for the existence of God are cosmological, ontological, and
teleological arguments. Cosmological argument is the reasoning that the being of the universe is
powerful proof for the existence of a God who made it. There are two main forms of cosmological
argument, the modal and temporal. Modal cosmological argument, also known as the argument
from contingency, recommends that because the world may not have existed, we then need some
clarification of why it does exist. When there is more than one likelihood, something has to decide
which of the possibilities is understood clearly. Therefore the world is contingent, because there
has to be a logical reason for its existence. This form of argument also claims that the only type of
existence that doesn t need any clarification is a being that does not failed to exist such as God.
Temporal cosmological argument, also known as the Kalam argument, contends that all evidence
are that there is a point in life at which the world began to exist, and that this starting must either
have been caused or uncaused. The cosmological argument used by Aquinas declares that since
nothing originates from nothing. Therefore the world must have been brought into reality by
something outside it, which can be called God .
Ontological argument is an argument that is not based on inspection of the universe, but rather on
rationality alone. This type of argument reasons from the study of being or existence (ontology).

How Did The Seven Days Battle Of 1862
The Seven Days Campaign of 1862 was a sequence of battles that took place along the Virginia
Peninsula east of Richmond between the Union Army of the Potomac and the Confederate
Virginia Army. The campaign consisted of the following six battles: Mechanicsville, Gaines Mill,
and Savage Station, engagement at Oak Swamp Bridge, and battles of Frazier s Farm and Malvern
Hill over a seven day period. Major General George B. McClellanled the Union Army of nearly
104,000 soldiers, while General Robert Edward Lee led the Confederate Army of nearly 92,000
soldiers during this campaign. General Lee s tactical plan and use of several mission command
principles during the Seven Days Campaign from June 25 to July 1, 1862 won a quick and
decisive victory for the VirginiaArmy, and drove the Union troops to retreat down the Virginia
Peninsula. General Lee s success in those seven days remains among the most important in U.S.
history because they gave new life to the Confederacy.
The day after General Joseph E. Johnston suffered wounds during the Battle of Seven Pines on
June 1, 1862, President Jefferson Davis appointed General Lee to command the Virginia Army.
Although, President Davis was initially reluctant with his appointment of General Lee as he had
had limited success and suffered a string of defeats in the early stages of the Civil War, he had no
alternatives. When General Lee took command, the Confederacy was in crisis. A well equipped

Analysis Of The Novel Dracula
Analysis of Dracula Although Dracula was not the first vampire novel, the effect that Bram Stoker s
creation had on the vampire genre is undisputable. At the time, it was written intellectual revelations
during the 19th century had begun to change what people fear. Archaic legends like vampire stories
no longer inspired terror in industrializing areas like Britain. What made Draculawidely successful
was the incorporation of modern themes and anxieties with the renowned archetype of the vampire.
By analyzing what makes Dracula a formidable monster, its becomes apparent what people feared
during that time it was written. This is true for modern adaptations of Dracula and the vampire
monster as well. Movies like Priest (2011) and the television show, The Strain (2014) both have
unique twists that play off modern anxieties. What makes Dracula appealing to me lies in his
personality, or lack thereof. After hundreds of years of being a vampire, Dracula has lost his
humanity. He manipulates, charms, and uses brutal force to live. However, Mina once infected,
fights passionately to keep her humanity. When reading Dracula, I often wondered how I would
react if infected, to desperately cling to humanity, or plunge into the darkness? Vampires are one of
the oldest and widespread monster stories in existence dating back to cultures such as the
Mesopotamians, Ancient Greeks, and Romans. These ancient cultures had myths about blood
drinking spirts and demons. Although many specific

Metalloids Lab
Introduction The periodic table is composed of metals, nonmetals, and metalloids. Each of these
materials have their own properties that are used to define and identify them. Metals are commonly
solids at room temperature, malleable and ductile, they often have high tensile strength, they
commonly have a silver or grayish white luster, and they are good conductors of heat and
electricity. However, there are exceptions; mercury is a liquid at room temperature rather than solid,
gold and copper are yellow and reddish brown rather than silver, and manganese and bismuth are
brittle rather than malleable. Nonmetals as opposed to metals are not good conductors of electricity
and heat, they are gases at room temperature, and nonmetals tend to be brittle. The exemption of
non metals are carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, and selenium are nonmetals however they are solid at
room temperature rather than gaseous. Finally, metalloids have combined properties of both metals
and nonmetals however all metalloids are solid at room temperature.... Show more content on

When a material is conductive, the conductivity probe will have a solid and visible red light.
However if it is not conductive there will be no light and if it is a semi conductor there will be a
dim and possibly flashing light. If an element reacts with acid it will create bubbles when the
sample comes into contact with the acid. Metals will be shiny in luster, malleable, conductive, and
they will react with hydrochloric acid to create hydrogen gas. Nonmetals on the other hand will be
dull in luster, brittle or not malleable, they will not conductive, and they will not react with acid.
Finally, metalloids will will have properties of both nonmetals and

The Average Age Of Onset Of Generalized Anxiety Disorder
The average age of onset of generalized anxiety disorder is 31 years old. Generalized anxiety
disorder affects about 6.8 million American adults. This disorder can develop at any point in the
life cycle, but the highest risk is between childhood and middle age.
Individuals who suffer from GAD can t relax; they startle easily, and have difficulty concentrating.
Often they have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Some physical symptoms include fatigue,
headaches, muscle tension, muscle aches, difficulty swallowing, trembling, twitching, irritability,
sweating, nausea, lightheadedness, having to go to the bathroom frequently, feeling out of breath,
and hot flashes.
Researchers have found that several parts of the brain are involved in fear and anxiety. Researchers
are also looking for ways in which stress and environmental factors may play a role.
GAD has many relations to associated problems from obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder
Agoraphobia, post traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, depression,
stress to suicide, and more.
Freud distinguished that chronic anxiety was prevalent in the general population, and to this day,
there is inadequate information about the natural history of this disorder.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is an effective treatment for many people, it helps them to identify,
understand, and modify faulty thinking and behavior patterns. This enables people with GAD learn
to control their worry. Some

Charles Dickens Great Expectations
Many people say that writing is nothing more than a way of the author to express himself. This is
true in many cases but none as much as in Great Expectations. In many ways the narrator
/protagonist Pip is Charles Dickens in body and mind. While there are many differences between
the story and Charles Dickens life there remains one constant. This constant is the way Pip as the
narrator feels, because these feelings are Dickens s own feelings about the life he lead. Since Great
Expectationswas written towards end of Charles Dickenslife, he was wiser and able to make out the
mistakes and regrets of his life, and Pip experiences them all. While Great Expectations is seen as
a tragic book not many people really think about where these themes come from, and when the
book is read with the knowledge of Dickens life it truly reveals new meanings.
Charles John Huffam Dickens born February 7th, 1812, was born a poor man. When Charles
Dickens was 12 his father John Dickens was sent to jail because he had too much debt. Since
Charles father was sent to jail Charles had to drop out of school and join a shoe blacking
company. When Charles no longer had to work he felt betrayed by his parents for making him do
what was their rightful job, taking care of the family. He thought that the second he started
working for that company his youth was gone. Once his father had received the family inheritance
Charles was able to go to school again and his father was released from jail. When

The Tactics Of Combat Civil Wars And Instill Peace
The three main tactics used to combat civil wars and instill peace in an area are peacekeeping,
peace enforcement, and counterinsurgency. The first tactic I will address is peacekeeping. Once the
two parties of a conflict have agreed to a truce, peacekeepers will come in to guarantee the
implementation of the truce and try to maintain peace. The duty of peacekeepers is not only [to]
monitoring troops, but also with human rights monitoring, protecting and delivering humanitarian
aid, demobilizing and retraining troops, reforming police forces, protecting civilians, reforming
legal systems, assisting in economic reconstruction, and sometimes administering the entire state
until a new government can take over. In other words, after civil wars, peacekeepers are often
charged not only with military monitoring duties, but with reforming the essential institutions of the
state (Peacekeeping, Peace Enforcement, and UN Reform Lise MorjГ© Howard, P 1 2). There
are three ways that peacekeepers are able to use their power in order to succeed. These three
ways include coercion, inducement, and persuasion. Coercion involves a display of power, like
swagger, to wield off attacks. Troops use swagger in several scenarios. One of the most common
times the use of swagger will occur is during policing, where troops will patrol the area. Since one
of the main doctrines of peacekeeping involves not using force, this type of coercion has been
deemed useful. Even though the majority of the time

  • 2. Racism By Kwame Anthony Appiah Racism is a widely discussed topic, and everyone agrees that it is something that only causes harm. People with racist views can view others from other groups as people who are lesser than them and might use physically actions to show their dislike. In response to that, more and more people are having their own ideas of how to identify and end racism. For example, Kwame Anthony Appiah who brought out the idea of extrinsic racism, the perspective of utilitarianism, and the Kantian ethic are views that show why racism is wrong and how it can be ended. Kwame Anthony Appiah who wrote Racisms , believes that extrinsic racism is when people has a belief that different races are different genetically and that results in different treatments. members of different races differ in respects that warrant the differential treatment, respects, such as honesty or courage or intelligence that are controversially held (held at least in most contemporary cultures) to be acceptable as basis for treating people differently. (p.691) This is morally wrong to Appiah because it is not true at all. Humans are humans, even if there are different races, the genes that contributes to race does not set different races intelligence and moral standards, it is the teaching and environment that shapes the people. the genes that account for the gross morphological differences that underlie our standard racial categories are not linked to those genes that determine, to whatever degree such matters ... • 4. Persuasive Speech On Spotting Scope They say that there s a right tool for every job. In the case of spotting scopes, their job is to provide close up visual access to anything on land while staying a safe distance away. Something of a cross between binoculars and a telescope, spotting scopes have uses from nature photography, bird watching, and even hunting. While a telescope is usually used at night to observe the stars, a spotting scope is meant only to be used during the day. When comparing a spotting scope to a telescope or a set of binoculars, there are some important distinctions, such as the size and the level of magnification. Today I ll be discussing the best spotting scopes as well as how to choose the right one for your needs. Whether you need a scope for spotting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Simply put, the larger the aperture, the more light comes in. If you want a beautiful, clear, bright image, choose a scope with a sufficiently large aperture. Since spotting scopes are meant to be used during the daytime, a large aperture will help you capture the best image possible, even if the sky is overcast or darker than usual. If you are uп»їsing the scope for hunting, a bright image will help you identify your prey much easier, making you more efficient in your process. Durability Because spotting scopes are meant to be used outdoors, many times this means that they are brought into rough terrain. If you plan on carrying your scope into the wilderness, you have to be prepared for any eventuality, including severe weather. Make sure that your spotting scope is as weather proof as possible, and hopefully, it can withstand drops or bumps without damaging the internal components. In addition to the scope itself, make sure the tripod you use is just as rugged and dependable. You don t want to have your scope fall over because of a weak tripod, so make sure the unit and all accessories are hardened against the weather as much as possible. Other ... Fear Of The Blue Essay Fear of the Blue Alton Sterling, Nolan Ryan, and Philando Castile; average people who are now household names because of their murders by the hands of those meant to protect and serve . They are three among many that were unarmed and killed by law enforcement. Each lived in different states, each lived different lives, and each had different dreams, but their lives were cut short by the discretion of a Police Officer. The First Amendment allots people to have the freedom of speech. The Second Amendment allots people to bear arms. The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable search and seizure. One would think with all the rights given, people should be allowed to express their opinions, carry a registered gun, and not have to fathom the fact they may not survive after an encounter with the law. Police brutality is on the rise because many officers use their power unjustly, are not adequately trained, and are not held accountable for their actions. • 7. Taking a Look at the Management Process An organizations goals and objectives can be accomplished through leadership. Leadership refers to inspire people to contribute and perform well in the management. It is a role of management and leading others towards the achievement of the common goals (Channappa, 2012). Daft (2012) reported that In today s world, industries, technologies, economies, governments, and societies are in constant flux, and managers are responsible for helping their organizations navigate through the unpredictable with flexibility and innovation (p. 4). A good manager is needed in every management because he or she is the one who determine the successes and future of the management (Daft, 2012). He or she is also the one to persevere unremittingly in facing the failure. As elaborated by Griffin Ebert (1996), there are four vital steps in the management process which are planning, organizing, leading and controlling (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1). The first step in the management process is planning. The process starts with managers setting the objectives and identifying the goals to ensure that mission is achieved (Daft, 2012). Firstly, an overall plan is developed by managers to ensure that the management runs smoothly and effectively in long term (Daft, 2012). The future of an organization to be heading and how to achieve them is determined by the manager (Daft, 2012). The second step in the planning is the managers analyze the risks facing their organization in terms of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to stay on top of the industry, The Boston BeerCompany needs to find new, innovative ways of being the most appealing craft beer available to the average consumer. • 10. Adelaide s Beaches Analysis The coast is the buffer between terrestrial land and the marine, it is the boundary of where land meets water which is known as the coastline. Tides, waves and currents are what help form coastlines. However, when waves meet or crash on the shore, they erode the land, leaving behind tiny parts of the sea such as shells, seaweed and marine life. Although, over the past 30 years central beaches are continually eroding because sand is pushed along the coastby waves. (Department for environmental heritage and Aboriginal Affairs, n.d) The separation of the continents occurred along the continent that is now known as the southern boundary. For example, the St Vincent basin which is located north/south of Australia was dramatically changed and formed step able rocks, and the Adelaide hills were also formed. • 12. Good People, by David Foster Wallace Essay David Foster Wallace s Good People, is a very touching, powerful story about a young, unwed, Christian couple facing an extremely difficult decision and the moral and religious implications that may result. As the story begins, we are allowed into the head of Lane Dean, a college student, as he sits on a park bench with his girlfriend, Sheri. Lane and Sheri find themselves faced with an unplanned pregnancy, which causes them to battle with several moral and religious dilemmas. Both of them are devout Christians who have built their moral beliefs upon God and their religious upbringing. Although torn Sheri schedules an abortion, which weighs on Lane deeply. He hated himself for sitting so frozen. He could almost visualize himself tiptoeing past something explosive. A big stupid looking tiptoe, like in a cartoon. The whole last black week had been this way and it was wrong (1) portrays the sheer terror and desperation that Lane is feeling. Wallace tells this story from a limited omniscience point of view, only allowing us into Lane s head. This point of view complements Lane s character as well as the tone of this story as it helps to set the frightened and worried mood of the story as it permits us, as readers, to experience the inner conflict and desperation that Lane is feeling. The setting, in my opinion, has hints of foreshadowing that work nicely with Lane s inner conflict. When Wallace writes [t]hey were up on a picnic table at that park by the lake, by the edge of the lake... (1) the word edge prompts a feeling that the story is on the verge of change. • 13. Deadly and Destructive Hurricanes Deadly and destructive. These are two words that describe the horrible natural disaster we now call a hurricane. An average hurricane can cause thousands, millions, or billions of dollars in repairs! Scientists are always trying to warn people when a hurricane could be coming, but even scientists make mistakes so, just like other natural disasters, you should always be prepared if a hurricane does come your way. A hurricane can be very deadly if people are not prepared or on high land. A hurricane can be very deadly and destructive even if you are ready for the oncoming hurricane. Deadly and destructive. A hurricane is a huge, swirling storm with winds ranging from 74 MPH to over 155 MPH (Manolis 5, 10 11). The name hurricane comes from the name of the god of evil and wind (Gibbons 3, Woods and Woods 6). A hurricane starts when warm, evaporated water rises at the eye. This air spins upwards and sucks up more water and water vapor. If the temperature of the water gets up to or more than 81 degrees Fahrenheit, the winds get stronger, and cumulonimbus clouds are formed. The whole process keeps getting bigger and rain starts to fall. When the wind speed is up to 74 MPH, the storm is called a hurricane (Gibbons 4 5). Hurricanes are classified with the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Sale. This scale was created around 1970, when Herbert Saffir and Robert Simpson invented it so meteorologists could warn people about hurricanes (Gibbons 9). The hurricane scale has five ... Cather was a famous author in the early mid 1900s, placing her work in an era of a formal, illustrative, sophisticated writing style. She wrote numerous books about life on the great plains, where she was born and raised. She received many awards for her artistic novels throughout her lifetime. She died in 1947, and the public continues to praise her work almost a century after its publishing date. Her free spirited writing has made her an icon ever since her books reached the shelves. Main Idea/ Theme My Antonia is a philosophical story, with dream like ideas left and right. Even so, the book s main theme was clearly the transition or journey from childhood to adulthood. This theme applied to both the main characters, Jim and Antonia, who were children when the story begins and adults when it ends. At ten years old, Jim Burden moved to the plains of Black Hawk, Nebraska. His parents had died in an epidemic, and Jim was sent to live with his father s parents on their Nebraska farm. In his new home, he met a Bohemian girl named Antonia, a free spirited, lively, unique personality. He fell in love with her, and although his feelings were not returned, he and Antonia became great friends. The book has numerous examples of traditional obstacles that people their ages go through, along with additional hardships such as poverty and death of close family members. Antonia developed a sense of independence that became her most prominent trait throughout the book. The characters found activities and places where they felt like they belonged, and they began to discover who they were. • 16. Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine History Prince William Forest Park YM Sgt. John Williams Date Established: November 14 1936 Location: Prince William County, Virginia Landmarks: Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine, One day a Baltimore man named John Detrick was hiking along Quantico Creek during which near the meeting of the North and South Forks, he noticed something gleaming in the water. It was Pyrite, known commonly as fool s gold and Iron Sulfide. One of the great ironies of this area was that Pyrite would prove more profitable than the real gold found in the Greenwood Gold Mine. The Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine began operations in 1889. The large number of patents in the mid nineteenth century and industrial growth after the Civil War made pyrite profitable. Sulfur was a necessary ingredient in several household products such as soap, textiles, paper, and fertilizer. When World War I began, the Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine contributed to the production of gunpowder. After World War I, the price of pyrite dropped. Nationwide, in many industries, workers struck. While there is no evidence of union activity, workers at the Cabin Branch Mine started to strike in 1920. They demanded a 50 cent raise. By this time, cheaper sources of sulfur were found overseas. During this particular stage according to Freud, children are said to take pleasure in their genitals and they also struggle with sexual desires, especially strong desires towards their opposite sex parent (girl desiring her father and boy desiring his mother). This kind of behavior in boys is called as Oedipus complex , which according to Freud means that the boys during this stage desire their mother and want to replace their fathers, who are seen to be seeking the mother s attention, because of this desire the boy is afraid that his father might find out and punish the boy by the process of castration(cutting off the penis) due to which they may develop castration anxiety. And the same desire called Electra complex which is the desire developed in girls for their fathers and in the thought of replacing their mothers is discussed during later on by Carl Jung. The Importance Of The National Anthem The decision, made by Colin Kaepernick and a handful of other NFL players, to kneel or sit down during the playing of the American Nation Anthem is an immature and disrespectful gesture to this country and to our flag. There are better more respectful ways to protest and put out word about your cause. While it is our first amendment right to not stand up for the National Anthem, it is my opinion that kneeling for the flag shows disrespect for this country, our armed forces, and the flag itself. The flag has a section of code in the U.S. law books called the flag code. This was adopted on June 14, 1923, by the National Flag Conference which Navy and Army representatives attended. Title 4 chapter 1 section 9 states, All other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, or if applicable, remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. While there are no legal repercussions to violating these codes, it shows a great disrespect to the flag and to the country. This section of code also states that citizens of other countries should stand in attention to show respect for the nation. Nonetheless, he also advises against erring too far in the other direction and conducting the risk of isolation, self righteousness, and ignorance. Kipling is proposing a middle path. Rather than deciding to live life a certain one way (trusting yourself) or the other (doubting yourself when others do), he inspires the reader to both trust yourself and allow for the world s and your own doubts. • 47. The Three Major Arguments For The Existence Of God Some of the three major arguments for the existence of God are cosmological, ontological, and teleological arguments. Cosmological argument is the reasoning that the being of the universe is powerful proof for the existence of a God who made it. There are two main forms of cosmological argument, the modal and temporal. Modal cosmological argument, also known as the argument from contingency, recommends that because the world may not have existed, we then need some clarification of why it does exist. When there is more than one likelihood, something has to decide which of the possibilities is understood clearly. Therefore the world is contingent, because there has to be a logical reason for its existence. This form of argument also claims that the only type of existence that doesn t need any clarification is a being that does not failed to exist such as God. Temporal cosmological argument, also known as the Kalam argument, contends that all evidence are that there is a point in life at which the world began to exist, and that this starting must either have been caused or uncaused. The cosmological argument used by Aquinas declares that since nothing originates from nothing. Therefore the world must have been brought into reality by something outside it, which can be called God . Ontological argument is an argument that is not based on inspection of the universe, but rather on rationality alone. This type of argument reasons from the study of being or existence (ontology). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. The Tactics Of Combat Civil Wars And Instill Peace The three main tactics used to combat civil wars and instill peace in an area are peacekeeping, peace enforcement, and counterinsurgency. The first tactic I will address is peacekeeping. Once the two parties of a conflict have agreed to a truce, peacekeepers will come in to guarantee the implementation of the truce and try to maintain peace. The duty of peacekeepers is not only [to] monitoring troops, but also with human rights monitoring, protecting and delivering humanitarian aid, demobilizing and retraining troops, reforming police forces, protecting civilians, reforming legal systems, assisting in economic reconstruction, and sometimes administering the entire state until a new government can take over. In other words, after civil wars, peacekeepers are often charged not only with military monitoring duties, but with reforming the essential institutions of the state (Peacekeeping, Peace Enforcement, and UN Reform Lise MorjГ© Howard, P 1 2). There are three ways that peacekeepers are able to use their power in order to succeed. These three ways include coercion, inducement, and persuasion. Coercion involves a display of power, like swagger, to wield off attacks. Troops use swagger in several scenarios. One of the most common times the use of swagger will occur is during policing, where troops will patrol the area.
