A key to balanced life!
Meaning
Work–life balance is a broad concept including proper
prioritizing between “work” (career and ambition) on one
hand and “life” (Health, pleasure, leisure, family and
spiritual development) on the other.
Striving for a perfect balance?
Is it 50-50 split?
Is it 70 - 30 Split?
Or is it Seesaw?
Does not mean an equal balance.
Trying to schedule an equal number of hours for each of your various work and
personal activities is usually unrewarding and unrealistic.
Will vary over time, often on a daily basis.
The right balance for you today will probably be different for you tomorrow. The
right balance for you when you are single will be different when you marry.
There is no perfect, one-size fits all, balance
you should be striving for.
– The best work-life balance is different for each of us because we all have
different priorities and different lives.
– An effective work-life balance definition has two key everyday concepts that
are relevant to each of us. They are daily

Simple principles
– At work you can create your own best Work-Life Balance by making sure you
not only Achieve, but also reflect the joy of the job, and the joy of life, every
day.
– If nobody pats you on the back, pat yourself on the back. And help others to do
the same.
– When you are a person that not only gets things done, but also enjoys the
doing, it attracts people to you.
– They want you on their team and they want to be on your team.
Remember
It is nothing
but giving yourself PERMISSION to have more integration between
your professional and personal life.
Let's see some best practices towards WLB
1. Simplify
– Learn to say “NO”
– No one is indispensable
– Stay at HOME. Listen to music
– CHILL OUT
2. De - Stress
– Stress – higher levels of work load
– But “Take it EASY” else High BP!!
– So De-Stress
– Take up:
– Yoga
– Painting
– Mediation
– Deep Breathing!
3. Be a Child
– Read Fairy Tales to a child
– Take a pet
– Go on holiday
– An impulse outing with family
– Eat cotton candy, ice cone
– NO one’s looking!!
4. Share the Load
– In family, divide the tasks like Dusting
– In Work place: DELEGATE
“Don’t do their fishing for them, teach them how to fish”
5. Slow Down
– Do Not get pulled from different directions
– One step at a time.
– Let go to see light, discover new ways to get things done.
6. Take Care of your Health
– Take a walk, Go to Yoga or Gym
– Take up Sport, Pet, Hobby
– Well balanced food
– Please SLEEP on time
“All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy”
7. Don’t Postpone
– Never Procrastinate
– Avoidance takes up more energy than actually doing it
8. Have a positive Approach
– Look around you. So many things to be grateful about.
– Make a list of things you are thankful for…

– Plan Ahead.
– Long Term
– Medium Term
– Short Term

So how do we go about achieving the Work-Life Balance ?
No cookie cutter solution. Each person has his/ her own formula defining the
composition of career, family, friends and self into their integrated whole.
Focus on whatever u are doing
Dream
Be Selfish Yourself First
Be organized
Make lists
Prioritize
Don't procrastinate
Be flexible
Don't be a slave to your e-mail or to phone calls
Be forgiving, especially of yourself
Set boundaries and learn to say no
Relationships
Don’t try to soldier along on your own without asking for help … it can only result in
a sense of isolation, martyrdom and exhaustion.
⁻ Don’t let that day come for your loved ones without telling them what they
mean to you
⁻ Value the relationships
⁻ Taking the time to connect with those you love will bring you true happiness
⁻ Personal relationships are the fertile soil from which all advancement...all
success... all achievement in real life grows.

– Establish good, supportive relationships, both at work and home

family needs
