Hippocrates stated that “wine and honey are
wonderfully suited to man ,if in health and disease
you administer them appropriately and in
accordance with individual constrictions.”
He believed that in addition to being a food,wine was
excellent treatment of body and soul,taken
internally and applied externally.
In each instance when deciding on a therapeutic
regime, the quality,nature and quantity of wine had
to be decided on,with reference to the patient’s
disease,temperament,constitution and dietary
habits.

Warns that any wine taken in excess early in
adisease causes exacerbation .
