Hitchhiker's guide to Cloud-Native Build Pipelines and Infrastructure as CodeRobert van Mölken
As more and more application deployments move to the cloud the scale and complexity becomes harder to manage. Instead of a handful of large instances, you might have many smaller instances, so there are many more things you need to provision. Because of this cloud vendors provide API abstraction of their compute, storage, network and other platform services. In this talk I present a guide to provision these services, such as a Kubernetes cluster, using infrastructure as code and deploy your applications through cloud-native build pipelines. Get to know the concepts behind these DevOps practices and come hear which tools to use like Terraform and Oracle Container Pipelines to automate these laborious tasks on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

The document provides an overview of Core Data Services (CDS) in SAP, including:
- CDS allows developers to move data logic from the application layer to the database layer through reusable views. There are ABAP and HANA versions of CDS.
- ABAP CDS views are created in Eclipse and correspond to views generated on the HANA database. Views can include parameters, associations, and aggregate functions.
- CDS views can be extended, previewed in Eclipse, and used in ABAP programs through Open SQL statements. This allows pushing code to the database for improved performance compared to traditional coding approaches.

Farm solutions and sandboxed solutions differ in how they are hosted, deployed, and their level of access. Farm solutions are hosted in the IIS worker process and have full trust access, while sandboxed solutions are hosted separately and have restricted access. Deploying farm solutions recycles application pools, while sandboxed solutions do not. Sandboxed solutions are limited in what code they can run for security reasons.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
