Reducing the cost of ownership and administration 1. Simplified Licensing 4. Integrated Installation & Setup 3. Flexible Deployment Models 5. Unified Administration 6. Sample Application & Integrated Help 2. Consistent Platforms & Languages NEW!
In the 2.0 products, creating a cross-domain CLM solution required purchase and administration of multiple client licenses for each user, in addition to a license for each server In the CLM 2011, role-based licenses enable role-appropriate read/comment access to the other two applications Buy client licenses that are authorized, floating or token-based No server pricing, no server editions Simplified Licensing Reduce Cost of Ownership & Administration Quality Professionals Developers Analysts RRC Analyst License RTC Developer License RQM Quality Professional License
The server license is included with any CLM 2011 User License Reduce Cost of Ownership & Administration Customers can now install as many servers as CLM 2011 user licenses purchased on any platform for any purpose! Customer Benefits: Jazz Team Servers in CLM 2011 can run on ANY supported platform (System z, System i, Windows, Linux, Unix) For ANY purpose Support disaster recovery installations Maintain separate test or training configurations Move servers between platforms w/o additional license fees Enables teams who need many servers for physical security isolation Simplifies trade-ups from other Rational products Easily change and grow your server topology without a licensing transaction
Role-based product license keys enable functionality in shared application architecture LEGEND R = Read-only access RW = Read/Write access NOTES: 1. All Jazz users have ability to comment on an artifact if they have at least Read ("R") access to the artifact and Read-Write ("RW") access to Jazz Foundation 2. The Jazz Foundation capability includes dashboards, review/comment, common reporting (without report customization), and server & project administration 3. Automation == Jazz Team Build with support for multiple build engines, including Build Forge. However, Build Forge licenses are sold separately 4. Point product and CLM deals will include a sufficient number of "RTC Stakeholder" licenses to support users just needing access to Change Management. 5. RTC Developer for Workgroups is distinguished from RTC Developer as follows: Limited to 50 licenses / server No floating licenses, but can be mixed with all types of Developer licenses No support for cross repository / distributed SCM No high availability support 6. An RRC analyst license is needed to modify the requirement type system and project/artifact templates For further details: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0m1/topic/com.ibm.jazz.repository.web.admin.doc/topics/c_license_mgmt_over.html

Flexible Deployment Options Shared Application Architecture Rational Team Concert Rational Requirements Composer Rational Quality Manager Role-based license keys determine product capabilities enabled for each user RTC, RRC, RQM or any combination RTC, RRC, RQM or any combination a) Standalone products – same as 2.x. Each product has its own JTS, can be deployed on a single or distributed app server. b) CLM solution deployed into a single application server, shared JTS c) CLM solution deployed into multiple application servers for increased scalability, shared JTS
Integrated Installation and Setup Simplified Installation A shared installation wizard One download contains all three applications and the Jazz Team Server Can install all applications on one application server or spread across systems for scaling Total download size is smaller than the sum of the 2.x downloads. Can run on a laptop

  • #9 For an evaluation, you can install the Jazz Team Server and the three associated applications on a single computer. In an enterprise environment, it is more likely that you will distribute the server and applications across multiple computers. However, it is important to realize that to take advantage of the product integrations, the three applications must share the same Jazz Team Server. It is also important to note that the Quality Management application requires Change and Configuration Management for defect tracking and Requirements Management for requirement tracking.
