work as a sales
associate in sneaker
retail? Trust me it’s
not as easy as it
sounds!
METHODS
1.Greeting.
2.Show what the store has to offer.
3.Help the customer narrow down their choices and provide them with the sizes.
4.Allow the customer to try on the product/s.
5.Suggest additional merchandise.
6. The closing.
Materials

Method 1: Greeting
“Good Morning, is there
anything I can help you with
today?”
Procedure
1.Welcome the customer into the
store,make them aware that their presence
matters and that they have your undivided
attention.
This is your time to make the customer
comfortable, let them know you’re
there to help. Within this time find
out if they already know what they're
looking for or if they’re just browsing.
Method 2: Show what the
store has to offer
“Take a look at this wall, I
think we may have what
you’re looking for.”
1.You can’t sell product if you don’t show it!
● Find out what it is they’re looking for, if they already
know what they want and you have the product show
them their options. If they aren’t sure show them
everything you have to help them decide what it is
they may like.
Method 3: Help the customer narrow
down their choices and provide them
with the sizes.
“Well based off what you like I think you
may like these, what’s your size i’ll get
them for you to try on.”
1.Show the customer you care!
● Offer to grab options from the stock room for them,
even if they don’t know specifically what they want
show them you care by bringing out things you think
they’ll like based off what they said they were looking
for.
Method 4: Allow the customer to try
on the
product/s.
“Here try these on, take a look in the mirror and
let me know what you think.”
Procedure
1. Ge the product on their feet!
The best way to convince the
customer they need to purchase
is by letting them see the
product on, this is where they
can see themselves in the
sneakers and potentially decide
they want to buy.
Method 5: Suggest additional
merchandise.
“I think this nike hoodie will
go perfectly with your
sneakers, here take a look.”

1. HOOKUPS!!!
Hookup rates should be at 20% or higher.To get a hookup you have to sell a
sneaker and branded apparel. This is how you get your commission. It is also
called “completing the look.”
Method 6: The Closing
“You made a great decision!
Glad I could help, enjoy the
rest of your day!”
1.Remind them they made a great
decision, and conclude their experience on
a positive note!
The opening and closing are the most important part of the sales job. Open by
letting them know you’re here to help and close out by letting them know you
had a great time helping. They will remember this and be sure to return to your
store again :)
● Personality is everything.
● Be willing to hold a conversation.
● PATIENCE!!!
● Sell until they stop buying.
● You work for your commission.

  • 8. 1.You can’t sell product if you don’t show it! ● Find out what it is they’re looking for, if they already know what they want and you have the product show them their options. If they aren’t sure show them everything you have to help them decide what it is they may like.
  • 9. Method 3: Help the customer narrow down their choices and provide them with the sizes. “Well based off what you like I think you may like these, what’s your size i’ll get them for you to try on.”
  • 10. 1.Show the customer you care! ● Offer to grab options from the stock room for them, even if they don’t know specifically what they want show them you care by bringing out things you think they’ll like based off what they said they were looking for.
  • 11. Method 4: Allow the customer to try on the product/s. “Here try these on, take a look in the mirror and let me know what you think.”
  • 12. Procedure 1. Ge the product on their feet! The best way to convince the customer they need to purchase is by letting them see the product on, this is where they can see themselves in the sneakers and potentially decide they want to buy.
  • 13. Method 5: Suggest additional merchandise. “I think this nike hoodie will go perfectly with your sneakers, here take a look.”
  • 14. 20% 1. HOOKUPS!!! Hookup rates should be at 20% or higher.To get a hookup you have to sell a sneaker and branded apparel. This is how you get your commission. It is also called “completing the look.”
  • 15. Method 6: The Closing “You made a great decision! Glad I could help, enjoy the rest of your day!”
  • 16. 1.Remind them they made a great decision, and conclude their experience on a positive note! The opening and closing are the most important part of the sales job. Open by letting them know you’re here to help and close out by letting them know you had a great time helping. They will remember this and be sure to return to your store again :)
