Brief presentation summarizing some new features introduced by BPMN 2.0, focusing on few points (made to answer to particular needs of a research project)
There are two major pitfalls in the development of extensions to the BPMN 2.0 metamodel.
First, there is a lack of methodological guides considering the extensibility approach supported by the extension mechanism of the language.
Second, BPMN does not provide any graphical notation for the representation of extensions.
This work proposes a method based on Model-Driven Architecture for the development of extensions to the BPMN 2.0 metamodel. It enables the conceptual modeling of extensions by using UML, their graphical representation in terms of the BPMN extension mechanism, and their transformation into XML Schema documents that can be processed by BPMN tools. A tool supporting the proposed method is also presented.

Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN)Peter R. Egli
Overview of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) language for modeling business processes.
When implementing business processes, there is usually a large gap between the business semantics (process, activity, participant, orchestration, choreography, data items etc.) and the technical implementation languages (REST, WSDL, transport protocol, message bus etc.). BPMN has the goal of bridging this gap by providing a standard notation for describing business processes plus a standard mapping of this notation into an executable description language like WSBPEL. The BPMN 2.0 standard even allows executing BPMN business models directly without the need of a translation.
The core notation elements of BPMN are flow objects to model activities and events, data objects to model pieces of information, connecting objects to model information and control flow, and swimlanes to model process participants. Four different diagram types allow the modeling of processes, process choreographies, collaboration between participants and conversations.

TOWARDS AUTOMATION OF SOA-BASED BUSINESS PROCESSESIJCSEA Journal
The adoption of business processes to design business activities is becoming a reality to a significant number of companies. In addition, the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is being used in diverse situations for the execution of business processes using computational resources. In this context, the need of business process automation appears with high relevance. In this work, we present a solution named BPA-SOA, which aims to automate SOA-based business processes, specified in BPMN, into WS-BPEL executable processes. In BPA-SOA, business and service information can be specified at the business level, translated into executable artifacts, deployed in execution-level resources and enforced at runtime. An illustrative scenario is presented to better illustrate and showcase the proposed solution.
The Object Management Group (OMG) has developed a standard Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) to provide a notation that is readily understandable by all business users, from the business analyst who creates the initial drafts of the processes to the technical developer responsible for implementing the technology who will execute those processes, and finally, to the business people who will manage and monitor those processes. Thus, BPMN creates a standardized bridge to fill the gap between business and technology.

"Babbo Natale va in vacanza?"
During the period of this survey more than 30 answers were collected. The intended audience of the questionnaire was a (even small) community of experts and proficient BPMN users. Thus, even if this survey can not be taken into account as representative of a public sentiment about BPMN, this work clearly represents a sight of the experts on how BPMN is used by practitioners in everyday business process modeling chores.

Representing Business Processes: Conceptual Model and Design MethodologyMichele Chinosi
My PhD Thesis: In this work we present our contributions to business processes modeling. Namely, we have undertaken a thorough analysis of the OMG standard BPMN, along with other related technologies like WS-BPEL and XPDL. Such analysis has pointed out several weaknesses that motivate our contributions. We propose a new conceptual model of BPMN called BPeX as a clear and principled way to represent and reason about business processes. We provide a three-phase design methodology to model business processes focusing on BPMN and we introduce the notion of business process normal form. We introduce also the concept of business process views and apply them to business processes access control. Finally, we provide an extension to BPMN with privacy policies. Relevant parts of BPMN conceptual model will be included as part of the forthcoming BPMN 2.0 standard.
Integrating Privacy Policies into Business ProcessesMichele Chinosi
Often, the modeled business processes involve sensible information whose disclosure is usually regulated by privacy policies. As such, the interaction between business processes and privacy policies is a critical issue worth to be investigated. Towards this end, we introduce a data model for BPMN and a corresponding XML-based representation (called BPeX) which we use to check whether a BPeX-represented business process is compliant with a P3P privacy policy. Our checking procedures are very efficient and require standard XML technology, such as XPath.
Novelle: A collaborative open source writing tool softwareMichele Chinosi
Our aim is to find a way to build new texts which is fully satisfying for authors/users/active readers and whose structure is clear, i.e. suitable for linguistic computation. These are the main ideas of Novelle.

In the Adani-Hindenburg case, what is SEBI investigating.pptxAdani case
Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

7. [BPMN 2.0 elements for dynamicity]
Business Rule Task
A Business Rule Task provides a mechanism for the Process to provide input to a
Business Rules Engine and to get the output of calculations that the Business
Rules Engine might provide. The InputOutputSpecification of the Task will allow
the Process to send data to and receive data from the Business Rules Engine.
Service Task
A Service Task is a Task that uses some sort of service, which could be a Web
service or an automated application. The Service Task inputs map to the parts
of the input Message, that is the attributes inside of the Message. For a WSDL
message, this would be expressed as message parts.
8. [BPMN 2.0 elements for abstraction]
Callable element
CallableElement is the abstract super class of all
Activities that have been defined outside of a Process
or Choreography but which can be called (or reused)
from within a Process or Choreography. It may
reference Interfaces that define the service
operations that it provides. A Callable element could
be exsposed as a Service.
Call Activity
A Call Activity identifies a point in the Process where
a global Process or a Global Task is used. The Call
Activity acts as a ‘wrapper’ for the invocation of a
global Process or Global Task within the execution.
The activation of a call Activity results in the transfer
of control to the called global Process or Global Task.
Global Task
A Global Task is a reusable, atomic Task definition
that can be called from within any Process by a Call
Activity.
