When you need to bring along the product team for help on a guerilla usability study, this is a quick intro to their role in the study and how to be a good facilitator.
Practical Tools for Keeping Your Head While Navigating a Changing World (Latest Iteration on an Ongoing Theme). Some ideas for attorneys, about how to manage change and uncertainty by adopting habits and routines (mindfulness, meditation, exercise, getting quiet) to build and maintain attention and focus.
This talk was presented at CQCON 2013 in Basel.
Learn how to master development workflows combining the power of CQ with Apache Maven and Git. Sometimes it can be hard to get up and running with other developers' Adobe CQ projects. Where is the code? How can you build it once you have it? How do you get it into CQ? What do you do with it once it's there? Anyone should be able to quickly and easily perform a git clone of a CQ project, followed by doing a Maven build and install, and then immediately be able to try it out and work on it within CQ. This session will show developers how they can structure their projects so that they are buildable "out of the box". We will provide hints and tips on how to structure your application in git, and explain which maven plugins to use in a range of circumstances.

New frameworks such as Ruby on Rails are teaching the old dogs some new tricks. With the maxims of "write less code", "don't repeat yourself" and " convention over configuration", programming has become fun again. What can the Cocoon framework learn from this?
Consider the lilies: most Java/XML developers fight with configuration and project building tools, and while they do XML situps, our Rails colleagues utter nice Zen-like 'umms' as their framework gently guesses at their thoughts.
This session will point out the ways in which we can learn from our competitors and make life easier for our users. It will also introduce Racoon: all the fun of Rails, on Cocoon.

Agile Inception Strategies : Presented by Khaarthigha SubramanianoGuild .
Agile Inception using Innovative and Collaborative techniques & Gamification came for rescue, But now this is also diluted a lot and becoming in-effective. But used well, this is highly effective even to discover more than what we are focusing and help channel the investments for the clients.
We took a real world problem that is meaningful to all attendees and used the following techniques as a real inception
– Describing the objectives of inception and inception outcomes
– Setting the vision
– Identify Competing constraints and decouple them
– Understand nuances of client relationship and being dynamic in modelling the solution
– Stakeholder mapping and communication plan
– Assumption mapping and hypotheses prioritisation
– Traceability of user needs to business goals through impact mapping.

SME" typically stands for "Subject Matter Expert." In the context of engineering design, SMEs play a crucial role in providing specialized knowledge and guidance throughout the design process. Here's how SMEs are typically involved in engineering design:
Technical Expertise: SMEs possess deep knowledge and experience in specific areas of engineering, such as mechanical, electrical, civil, or software engineering. They contribute their expertise to ensure that the design meets technical requirements, standards, and regulations.
Problem Solving: SMEs often participate in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving activities to address complex engineering challenges. Their insights help identify potential issues early in the design process and develop effective solutions.
Design Review: SMEs participate in design reviews to evaluate the feasibility, functionality, and safety of proposed designs. They provide critical feedback and recommendations to improve the design and mitigate risks.
Validation and Testing: SMEs collaborate with design teams to develop testing procedures and validate design concepts through simulations, prototypes, and experiments. They ensure that the design performs as intended under various operating conditions.
Continuous Improvement: Throughout the design process, SMEs contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for optimization, efficiency gains, and cost reductions. Their feedback helps refine the design and enhance its overall quality.
Knowledge Transfer: SMEs often mentor junior engineers and share their expertise to build the capabilities of the design team. They provide guidance on best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies relevant to engineering design.
Data management solutions always look good “on paper”. When it's just a matter of proposals and ROI projections on gleaming white stock, the “abstract” seems perfect. It's only when you go live, and real people get involved that things can get messy. If you don't have a clear, strategic implementation plan in place, who knows what could happen.
You need a plan. And Synergis has a proven plan. During this webcast, you’ll discover...
• Why creating alignment and generating positive buzz are essential to success
• What 6 critical steps must be followed to insure successful implementation
• Which best practices will make you a hero
• The most common pitfalls that impact ROI

The mobile landscape has changed quite dramatically over the past few years, with the emergence of new mobile platforms and a significant shift toward open source in mobile technologies. What are the key economic drivers for this shift, and what are the lessons that can be learnt from the mobile industry's adoption of open source?
This talk draws on Andrew's experiences as Open Source Manager for the LiMo Foundation. It looks at how and why open source has become commonplace in mobile platform development, and the advantages and pitfalls of using open source.
This workshop introduced the power of XML and XSLT to delegates. It used an innovative solution of Apache Cocoon on a single server and form-based file upload to allow delegates to quickly and simply see the effect of applying XSL transformations on their markup.
Before leaving university and starting Luminas Limited, the directors were all involved in running student union-backed web sites. While doing this, they obtained a unique perspective on what students want from a university site. In this talk, they present some ideas from this experience that you may not have considered before.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
