Feasibility Assessment: Proposed B.C. LNG Facilities and Renewable PowerClean Energy Canada
Navius Research Inc. and Steve Davis & Associates produced a conceptual design for powering the LNG terminal on the North Coast that would maximize renewables at its production facility and do so reliably, affordably and on schedule—using established commercial technologies. Further, doing so reduces that plant’s carbon pollution by 45 percent, its air emissions - nitrogen oxides - by 70 percent and increases local permanent jobs by 40 percent. The cost for all these benefits? A 1 percent increase in projected sales price of the LNG.

Flinders Island Isolated Power System (IPS) Connect 2016 T MAHMOUD Western Powerjames hamilton
The energy industry is rapidly evolving to take advantage of renewable resources and Western Power is embracing new technologies that will improve service and reliability to our customers. New and improving technologies such as solar, wind, wave and most importantly batteries are changing the way we think about the delivery and storage of electricity. One of these developments is the microgrid, which is essentially a small scale power grid that can operate independently (in ‘island mode’) or connect with the main electrical grid – think of a small suburb, or estate, that shares electricity and the cost of the infrastructure. A microgrid needs to control the flow of electricity of low or medium voltage, but does not need connection to a centralised generation or transmission network. Western Power has trialled the world’s first microgrid project that combines wave energy, solar (photovoltaic) energy, a desalination plant, and energy storage that connects to our large electricity network.
Thair demonstrates extensive engineering experience focused on power systems planning and real-time operation. This includes experience in load, generation and microgrids grid connection, renewable energies, transmission networks planning and stability. This experience is supported by his academic research at the University of Tasmania and Edith Cowan University, including invitation to review international journals and conferences in the field of Energy Systems and Artificial Intelligence. Thair has previously held roles with Canegie Wave Energy and Deng Kai.

Jan Beranek is a Nuclear Campaigner at Greenpeace International.
The use of nuclear power has during the last few decades created a nuclear waste problem that no one is in control of. Hundreds of thousands of tons of world’s most dangerous waste have been stored next to nuclear reactors. The proposed new nuclear reactors would make Finland the world’s largest producer of nuclear waste per capita and a dangerous example to the rest of the world.
Capstone project completed with Alan Thai and Arthur Yip. Briefly, we describe our MATLAB model for a renewable energy hub consisting of solar panels, wind turbines and an electrolyzer for generating hydrogen. The generated hydrogen was then used to run hydrogen-powered forklifts. The environmental and financial analysis were shown to be sufficient to warrant further investigation.

Looking to the past to understand the future
To understand fully the future direction of the oil and gas sector here in WA, it is important to consider and recognise the recent history and current challenges being experienced. This history and current challenges formed the first section of the presentation highlighting the scale of expansion of the industry here over the past decade, where we have moved from around 20mtpa LNG to a anticipated output level of some 50mtpa in WA alone, which, when combined with the additional capacity being constructed in QLD and NT will make Australia the world’s largest exporter of LNG by the end of this decade.

Why You Should Replace Windows 11 with Nitrux Linux 3.5.0 for enhanced perfor...SOFTTECHHUB
The choice of an operating system plays a pivotal role in shaping our computing experience. For decades, Microsoft's Windows has dominated the market, offering a familiar and widely adopted platform for personal and professional use. However, as technological advancements continue to push the boundaries of innovation, alternative operating systems have emerged, challenging the status quo and offering users a fresh perspective on computing.
One such alternative that has garnered significant attention and acclaim is Nitrux Linux 3.5.0, a sleek, powerful, and user-friendly Linux distribution that promises to redefine the way we interact with our devices. With its focus on performance, security, and customization, Nitrux Linux presents a compelling case for those seeking to break free from the constraints of proprietary software and embrace the freedom and flexibility of open-source computing.
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
