Where Can I See?
Epithelial Tissue
Glandular Tissue- An aggregation of epithelial cells that elaborate
secretions.
Stratified Cuboidal- Is a rare type of epithelial tissue composed of
cuboidal shaped cells arranged in multiple layers.
Simple Cuboidal- Simple cuboidal cells are classified as simple since
they consist of only a single layer of cells.
Simple Squamous Epithelium- Single layer of flat epithelial cells that
all adhere to the basement membrane.
Stratified squamous epithelium- Squamous (flattened) epithelial cells
arranged in layers upon a basement membrane. Only one layer is in
contact with the basement membrane; the other layers adhere to one
another to maintain structural integrity.
Nervous Tissue
• Nervous Tissue- Specialized to react to stimuli
and to conduct impulses to various organs in
the body which bring about a response to the
  stimulus.
Muscular Tissue
• Skeletal Tissue- Known as voluntary or striated
  voluntary muscle.
• Smooth Tissue- Muscles that are not
conscious control, also known as involuntary
  or visceral muscle.
• Cardiac Tissue- Specialized muscle that makes
  up the heart.
Connective Tissue
Connective Tissue- Tissue arising chiefly from the embryonic mesoderm that
is characterized by a highly vascular matrix and includes
collagenous, elastic, and reticular fibers, adipose tissue, cartilage, and bone. It
forms the supporting and connecting structures of the body.
Loose connective issue- Loose connective tissue or (LCT) is literally found
everywhere in the body, as filling between apposed body parts. It is also
called areolar tissue.
Adipose- Used to store fat
Reticular- Forms a network
Dense Regular Fibrosis- Found in ligaments and tendons
Bone- Is a type of mineralized connective tissue that contains collagen and
calcium phosphate, a mineral crystal
Hyaline cartilage- Is covered externally by a fibrous membrane, called the
perichondrium, except at the articular ends of bones
Fibrocartilage- Consists of a mixture of white fibrous tissue and cartilaginous
tissue in various proportions
