The document provides an overview of new features in ArcGIS 10.1, including improvements to data management, mapping and visualization, geoprocessing and analysis, and GIS on the web. Key updates include enhanced feature tracking, lidar and imagery analysis tools, database management interfaces, dynamic legends, 85 new geoprocessing tools, easier workflows, and a focus on web applications using technologies like Flex, Silverlight, and JavaScript that are easier to configure and deploy. The new version also improves server performance with native 64-bit capabilities and aims to make GIS capabilities more accessible to all users.
Over the last two years the licencing model of the ArcGIS product suite has changed significantly. Licencing issues are still by far outstripping any other queries directed to our support division. These seminar notes are dedicated to discussing the challenges that our users experience with the licencing of the ArcGIS products, disusing the different ArcGIS Licencing concepts and options.
ArcGIS API for Javascript is a comprehensive application programming interface with classes designed for Web GIS purposes, many of which are built on Dojo.
These slides are from a series of presentations during Esri Ireland's "ArcGIS - The Platform Story" Road Shows that took place in Belfast and Dublin in March 2014.
The evolution of ArcGIS to the geospatial platform it is today is bringing about transformational change to organisations by helping to break down the barriers between workflows, processes departments, and disciplines. Sharing data and collaboration using geographic information have now become much quicker and simpler.
Hear from our CTO & Esri Evangelist Eamonn Doyle on how customers are using the Esri Platform in their organisations and Esri's plans for the future of the platform.

TELUS Case Study: GIS for Telecommunicationseventspat
The TELUS TV customer base has tripled over the last two years. To support this growth TELUS initiated a project to liberate data from their spatial data store for TELUS TV marketing, investment and provisioning. This project integrated TELUS corporate data with consumer tools. Consumer tools like Google Maps, Bing Maps and Open Source GIS provide TELUS with a plethora of functionality and data. Like any consumer product, it is not a panacea for corporate users. However, there is a lot of functionality that can be tailored to the needs of utility workflows. Come see specific workflows that show the benefit of mashing-up corporate GIS with Consumer GIS and how others are leveraging consumer GIS to increase their GIS Return on Investment!

BIM-based Enterprise GIS Workflows for Facilities Management with QA/QCSafe Software
Modern GIS for facilities management has an increasing trend for utilizing BIM. Each year GIS industry pushes towards 3D, yet most stable workflows leverage 2D where BIM data often needs to go through a set of complicated conversion procedures to be usable. This presentation will include the steps needed to include BIM in an enterprise facilities GIS including data conversion, QA/QC and enterprise integration procedures. The end goal is an increased number of functionalities, yet design for reduced complexity and deployment time.

The presentation will provide examples of GIS/GPS cameras and digital pen solutions that provide inexpensive and easy to use solutions. These can eliminate technology boundaries for public works, planning and code departments as well as emergency responders and operational managers and support personnel - many who have no GIS training. Immediate access to filed data can improve input into GIS workflow requirements and can provide critical information to help in time of emergency response to help save lives and property.
IT organizations are challenged with making tradeoffs between innovation and maintenance of legacy systems. These decisions are often made transactionally without a framework for modernization and a visionary roadmap. Cloud computing offers IT organizations innovation capabilities with Platform as a Service and opportunities of reducing the cost of operating legacy systems with Infrastructure as a Service offerings.
The Data Interoperability extension is an optional extension to ArcGIS, based on Safe Software's FME technology. The extension supports reading over 100 GIS, CAD and database formats

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images
In his public lecture, Christian Timmerer provides insights into the fascinating history of video streaming, starting from its humble beginnings before YouTube to the groundbreaking technologies that now dominate platforms like Netflix and ORF ON. Timmerer also presents provocative contributions of his own that have significantly influenced the industry. He concludes by looking at future challenges and invites the audience to join in a discussion.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
