How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
1. Planning: How to convey the
key selling points and
narrative strands in our trailer
2. Key selling points
Our key selling points for our film include:
• The actors- well known actors that the target audience (12-25) may be
able to relate too as they are of a similar age and also if they are well
known actors among this age group then they will be able to identify
them before going to see the film. This may influence their decision in
whether to go and see the film or not.
• The fact that it was a book before hand and many people may have
read this book and may want to see how it can be shown on a screen
with actors. They also may be intrigued to see this films take on the film
compared to the book and any differences it may involve or even a
slightly different storyline, to see which is better.
• The music- new music that the viewers may not have heard before,
making it different to all other films of this genre (thriller/mystery). The
music will vary throughout but will involve several different new musicians
that have yet to be used in a film, making it different to all other films and
making it stand out from the rest.
• Links vaguely to the fairytale of snow white (the giving of the heart to
make it look like someone is dead).
3. Highlighted plot synopsis
Synopsis- for HOMESICK
• With a newly found sense of freedom and part time job Georgia has moved away from home for the first time. The family come together for a final time to
celebrate her 18th birthday party with her friends and family before she leaves. In the small village where her and family live she is a symbol of new life and
regeneration as she makes her own way and career for the first time. She and her sister are celebrating when she receives a nasty text message from an ex
boyfriend who she left a year ago. She had been with him but ended it when she realised he was intimidating her younger sister Steph. The celebrations
continue, the text ignored, and the village proceed to bid her farewell as she moves to another nearby village. She has arranged that she will see her family
every three weeks and keep in regular contact; however this changes for the worse.
• The family keep in contact with Georgia and they know her to be well. However in Georgia's mind things have changed and she fears telling her family
because if the large burden she feels she holds on them. She is back in contact with her ex boyfriend and is being manipulated daily.
•
During the year that Georgia is living away she changes drastically and is made to think by her ex that her parents don’t want her and don’t care about her
so she should not go home and should stay where he can see her and ‘look after her’ because he has been in her head so much she begins to believe this
and becomes even more homesick. As the film goes on the the effects of her ex boyfriends manipulation are shown to the audience by Georgia doing
several things to harm her family as she has been made into thinking that she should do that and rebel against them.
•
As the manipulation between Georgia and her 'ex' continues she gets back together with him as this is part of his plan and scheme to ruin everyones lives
as he has such a strong hatred for her family as they were the reason they split a year ago. Over a few months, since Georgia no longer lives at home her
now boyfriend has wormed his way into living with her meaning he can push his manipulation onto her even more without her knowing what is happening.
His forceful ways has meant that he has come up with a plan to sabotage Georgia and all her families life, as he wants revenge on them all for the split a
year ago. He convinces Georgia that her family do not care about her and will never want her back now she has moved out, and so gets her in on the plan,
little does she know she is the reason for this revenge and it is not just her family that he hates. Together they form a plan to kidnap Steph (Georgia's sister) in
order to frighten the rest of the family and get them 'prepared' for what is going to happen next (according to Mark- the boyfriend). Georgia and Mark have
been planning the kidnap for a good few weeks and then finally decide that it is time to get on with the plan (Mark being the main force behind starting the
plan). They kidnap Steph by Georgia arranging to meet her after school at a main meeting point in the village, which was the main bus stop. When Steph
arrives there is no one there until she gets a sudden shock from behind, without seeing her aggressor, she is hit over the head with a metal bar knocking her
to the floor. From a pool of blood they then smuggle Steph into the back of a car and hide her in a unknown place to the audience as they plan to use her
in the future to ruin her families lives.
•
Georgia and Steph's family soon realise that Steph is missing and before long there were missing posters all around the village, that Mark would tear down if
he saw. The search continued for months, along with the new part of the plan that Mark had made which was texts to the family (mom and dad) sent from
an unknown number (Georgia and Mark) as if the person sending the texts is with them as they know the families every moves (which Georgia and Mark
know from the secret camera in the family house). In addition to this, Mark and Georgia are out to trick the parents by sending them packages of animal
hearts, making them think Steph is dead. While Steph is under their control, they are also manipulating her although the audience doesn't see this.
•
The final part of the plan is when Mark attempts to set fire to where Georgia works (the bond). However Georgia catches him in the act and begins to go
crazy and screams for attention and attacks Mark for everything he has done because she realises it is all wrong and before she can get Steph from where
they have hidden her, Mark moves Steph to another location.
•
Georgia has reached breaking point once she has left Mark and realises for herself the true impact he has had on her, and as she runs away, ignoring the
multiple text her bombards her with, she seeks protection, running back to her family home. Her parents aren't in the house and as they return the see
smoke appearing from under the door. At this unusual sight they open the door, not expecting to see their long lost daughter, and are shocked by the
events that follow.
•
At the end of the film Georgia hits rock bottom and has developed a strong barrier against social influences, showing the reason why she deflects her
parents away from her. Due to this mental disorder and her weak mental state she turns solitary and is led to arson and criminal offence. She is taken away
to gain medical help after the traumatic experience.
4. What we want to show and what we
want to hide in our trailer:
• At the end of the trailer we will reveal the five main characters (Georgia, Steph, the
mother, the father and Mark- the ex boyfriend). These will be shown through close up
shots of them all individually and also all of the main family together (wide shot) and then
another shot of the ex boyfriend (Mark) on his own. We will show these main characters
along with their real names, which may attract the audience as the actors are one of the
key selling points of the film which will draw them into watching it. So if the main
characters are revealed right at the very end of the trailer that will be the last thing the
audience see so they will remember who is in the film.
• The part of the narrative that we will show to the audience will not include the whole of
the plot synopsis and will not reveal the ending, it will also not just be the opening to a
film, so will include lots different parts of the film without giving anything away.
• The setting that shown to the audience will include a variety of different places from the
different points in the film to show everything doesn’t happen in the same place. But the
amount of settings is limited as it is a story about Georgia and Mark, who are confined to
the flat because of Mark and his manipulation and devious plans, so the limited amount
of setting that is revealed highlights to the audience part of the storyline and helps them
to understand just through the trailer.
• We will hide the ending so it will make people go and see the film to find out what
happens next and what happens to Georgia, her family and her manipulative boyfriend
who is taking over her life.
5. Parts of the narrative that we will show:
• Georgia in her own home, in a friendly environment that she feels comfortable in,
showing he everyday life with her family. – Short snippet of this to show that it is short lived
and does not stay this way for long- quickly goes away from this into everything in her life
going down hill.
• Georgia getting a ‘weird’ text from her ex at her 18th birthday and looking worried about
what is to come (a shot of her phone and what the text says: ‘Meet me. 2pm. I know
where you are, so don’t be late.’) This continues for a few seconds showing her not being
able to concentrate on her party and her trying to put on a brave face.
• The trailer then skips to a brief shot of her moving out and continuing to carry on with
everything despite the texts she is receiving from her ex boyfriend.
• Then the audience will see her in her new flat, still receiving texts , but getting on with her
life and trying to distract herself with her job.
• Then we see a quick change in the direction of the trailer/film which is shown by Georgia
getting back with her ex boyfriend (a shot of them together, appearing to me happy)
and the start of the manipulation (Him telling her that her parents hate her and don’t
want her back).
• Next the different parts of the plan that Mark has come up with to sabotage Georgia’s
families lives is shown- a quick shot of Steph’s kidnapping, quick shot of the texts, and
them receiving an animals heart.
• Shots of Georgia’s families breakdown.
• Missing signs for Steph (mystery as to where she is- not seen again in the trailer.
• Mark with a lighter by Georgia’s work.
• Georgia screaming
• Shot of Georgia with a lighter by her family home.
