1. Script for trailer outlining the shots, sound and editing we will use:
GEORGIAS HOUSE- EVENING- PARTY
• GEORGIA in her own home, in a friendly environment that she feels comfortable
in, showing he everyday life with her family. – Short snippet of this to show that it
is short lived and does not stay this way for long- quickly goes away from this
into everything in her life going downhill.
Long shot/ establishing shot of her environment
Voice over: “She had it all”
Close up shots of GEORGIA laughing with STEPH and all of her family and friends celebrating
her 18th Birthday- blowing out her candles and dancing all night: To show her happiness and
how content she is.
Voiceover: “An exciting future and a caring community”
• GEORGIA getting a ‘weird’ text (SOUND EFFECT OF MOBILE RECIEVING TEXT)
from her ex at her 18th birthday and looking worried about what is to come (a
close up shot of her phone of what the text says: ‘Meet me. 2pm. I know where
you are, so don’t be late.’) This continues for a few seconds showing her not
being able to concentrate on her party and her trying to put on a brave face- close
ups to show her emotions changing within minutes because of this text.
Voiceover: “No one was to know the secretive past she was hiding”
• The trailer then skips to a brief shot (medium close ups and long shots so that
the audience can see all of the action and that she is continuing to move despite
the texts from her ex) of her moving out and continuing to carry on with
everything despite the texts she is receiving from her ex-boyfriend.
Voiceover: “In a thriving village”
• The next part that is shown from the synopsis in the trailer is when a close up of
GEORGIA in her new flat looking scared and like she doesn’t know what to do. It
also shows another close up shot followed by a few medium shots of a new
character that has been added to the plot (the ex-boyfriend- MARK) looking
angry, but the audience are not shown if they are in the same place or not,
building up suspense for the audience- the shots cut between the two characters
but no two shots are used so you cannot see who is with who.
Up until this point the soundtrack music of: Dustin O'Halloran - We Move Lightly is
playing to build suspense and then it changes too Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross - She
Reminds Me Of You.
Voiceover: “All it took was one man, one action and several lives”
• The next few parts of the trailer reveal to the audience the abuse that Georgia is
going through because of her ex working his way back into her life (TIK TOK OF
THE CLOCK SOUND EFFECT TO SHOW TIME PASSING) - shows her breaking
down- little clips of her crying, screaming, getting anxious and her mental
2. condition developing because of the manipulation that Mark has put her through
over the months. All of this is shown by several close ups and extreme close ups
to show her emotion to the audience and to get across the full extent of what is
happening. Also long shots are used at this point to show MARKS manipulation
and how he pretends to be nice but isn’t. The use of long shot shows Georgia is
the main focus.
• The next part that is shown is Georgia hiding, looking at a ‘missing’ article of her
– extreme close up of the article and medium close up of Georgia looking at it
looking distraught.
Intertitles: “Canal studios presents…”
Intertitles: “Alice Jones”- close up of Georgia
Intertitles: “Rosie Taylor” - close up
Intertitles: “And... “Adam Hill”
Intertitles: “In the thriller of the year”
Intertitles: “The spectacle from the director of The Reality Run”
• Then the family looking distraught along with Georgia at home in her own
bedroom (without family knowing) - becoming OCD and more scared- several
clips of this- jump cutting between them- fast paced editing. The clips slow down
as time goes on then the screen fades to black. (AUDIENCE CAN HERE SOUND OF
GEORGIA SCREAMING)
Screen fades to black
• The screen comes back (fades in) showing her grabbing a lighter and being very
impulsive and then it ends with a close up of her flicking the lighter looking
possessed. SOUND EFFECT: FLICKING OF LIGHTER
Intertitles: “HOMESICK”
Intertitles: “Coming Soon”
Quick, fast past editing used throughout- jumping between all the different scenes to show how fast
things in her life changed- like all the different scenes are flashing up on the screen.
