Unique Aspects of Industrial Market Segmentation
What are the Unique Aspects of Business Market Segmentation?
A business firm must define the market in which it wishes to operate.
In defining the market, business market managers choose descriptors (bases) that characterize and
delimit a market, with the intent pinpointing groups of firms that are of greater interest to the supplier
firm.

But in business markets, because intermediate transactions are involved, a firm must first choose the
stage in the value adding chain before selecting the horizontal market segments.
Consider the value adding chain schematically shown in the previous diagram.
An organization would have to decide whether to sell propylene, isopropanol, isopropyl acetate
(chemical intermediates), and/or plastics.
The stage in the value adding chain where it decides to sell its output represents its choice of output
markets.
Suppose the organization chooses to sell isopropanal.
It must now decide whether to sell to producers of acetone, chemical intermediates, coatings,
agricultural and biological chemicals.
The latter decision reflects

Independence Of Indi Mahatma Gandhi
There were many Indian nationalists who had wriggled against the British, who had seized the whole
country of India. On the one hand, nationalists were extremists, who had fought against the British
army and sacrifice their lives for the country, while on the other hand, there were modernists, who had
made peaceful and non violent movements against British. These events were marked as of
prominence importance in the history. One of the greatest examples of nationalists in India was
Mahatma Gandhi, a modernist. He had employed Satyagraha (passive resistance) movements like Salt
March, Mass movements, and Quit India movement. He had also made his clothes from a spinning
wheel instead of buying them from English people. As a result of these movements, he made India an
independent nation and gained lots of reverence from Indians
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born at October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, a small, seaside town in
the Kathiawar peninsula in western India about halfway between Mumbai and Karachi. He was born
at rich family. He was married to Kasturba at age thirteen. Since he was from a rich background, his
relatives were able to send him to England for better education. At England, he studied at University
College of London and became a lawyer. After his education, he went to South Africa to work as a
lawyer. At South Africa, his attendance was required at the lawsuit in Pretoria. So, he took the train
and moved in the first class compartment at first class tickets.

68ga Anti-Hr2 Case Study
The data obtained from this clinical case show that 68Ga DTPAAnti HER2 has the capability to
identify HER2 expressing metastatic lesions from breast cancer. Importantly, HER2 overexpression
was foreseen in lymph nodes and lung metastases by molecular imaging when the
immunohistochemistry analysis was indeterminate for both metastatic sites and, even if 18F FDG
seems to be better to visualize tumours, 68Ga DTPAAnti HER2 showed high specificity to detect the
pulmonary metastatic lesions. The origin of the moderate uptake using 68Ga DTPAAnti HER2
remains to be determined, but may be related to low levels of HER2 expression.
Noteworthy, 68Ga had a significant background activity in the liver and heart (SUVmax=9.45 and 8.7,
respectively) that did not represent a problem in the present case as signal noise did not interfere with
the detection of the pulmonary masses. Nevertheless, due to the background noise frequently reduces
the detection of tissue lesions11, the latter is proposed as the best time point to obtain images with an
optimal signal to noise ratio12.
Later time points, however, were not assessed in this study because of the short half life of 68Ga (68
min). In any case, the possibility to detect an equivocal lesion in a tissue that normally clears
background activity over time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

High School Football Injuries Research Paper
Strategies for Preventing High School Football Injuries I started my love of sports when I was very
young. At three years old, I played flag football for a local youth league. I was not shy and withdrawn

could, while hiding the Jews it was risky and challenging. Throughout Miep s life after the holocaust,
she wrote a book about her experiences of the holocaust. The book she wrote was called Anne Frank

holocaust because of how hard it was to get enough food for the people in hiding, finding places for
people to hide at, and for the people in hiding to live in the same place for a long time. Firstly, in
chapter eight Miep shows that its hard to get food for seven people. Henk, Miep s boyfriend gets

Feminist Feminism
The women that march around burning bras, hating men, and denying to shave their body hair. A
perfect definition for a feminist, right? Wrong. If you do not agree with feminism, it could possibly be
because everything you know about it is wrong. According to a poll conducted by PerryUndem in
2015, a research and communications firm, 85 percent of Americans believe in equality for women.
Yet, only 18 percent of respondents identified as a feminist. Evidently, it is a belief that is wildly
misunderstood and learning more about it could change one s perception of the world completely. The
basic assumption shared by all feminists is that women suffer certain injustices on account of their
sex. Feminists stress the importance of gender divisions in society and it simply portrays these
divisions as working to the overall advantage of men. Although feminists are united with their
common desire for sexual justice and their concern for women s welfare, there is a range spectrum of
feminist views that many are uneducated on. Many do not know that anyone can be a feminist
regardless of age, religion, or gender.
A common misconception about feminism is that it is strictly for a certain type of person. Myths about
feminists include the standards that being feminists means being homosexual women who hate men,
which is so far from the truth. Though many men, and even some women deny the fact that they are a
feminist because of this, it is because they have their own false perceptions on

A Comparison of the Functionalist View with the Marxist...
A Comparison of the Functionalist View with the Marxist View Sociologists may disagree in their
interpretation of how society works. Some have focused on what keeps society together; others have
focused on what divides society. Over the years the two major paradigms have dominated sociology
these are functionalism and the conflict theory better know as Marxism. Both the Marxism view and
the functionalist view have their own totally different point of view. Haralambos points out that
although functionalists emphasize the importance of value in society they do recognize that conflict
can occur . However functionalists consider such conflict as being the result of temporary disturbances

They believe that a social system is a functional unity whereby all the parts of the system work
together. Co ordination and co operation . On the contrary Marxism could not be more strongly
marked. Marxism stresses that the motive force for society and social change is conflict. Marx stresses
that the links which bind sectors of society are economic and linked to the modes of production.
Social conflict is created by the differing interests of competing social groupings, known as classes. A
writer in the Marxist tradition would emphasize that the links between groupings within society are
very weak and marked by very diverse interests of each particular group. Marxists argue that the
functionalist view is an illusion to think of modern society as one which is in a continuous state of
harmony. On the contrary, every society is characterized by continuous conflict. There exists a
struggle between the various groups and classes of society. The struggle for power, prestigue and
economics goods gives rise to competition between the various sectors of society. Therefore, what we
consider as society is the outcome of this continuous social conflict. Functionalists as opposed to
Marxists dispute that social equilibrium is achieved, most importantly, through the socialization of
members of the society into the basic values

aspects, angels, and ideas, come into play. When choosing a product by the form of advertisement, the
viewer chooses the best ad that appeals to his/her needs/wants. This requires the advertisement
producer to analysis the target audience. In Motor Trend Merica, there are two advertisements for two

These ads are completely different because they have diverse audiences. When determining who the
target audience is for these two products, it is essential for the analyzer, to search outside of the box.
First thing to consider is the magazine. The name alone can shed light onto the two targeted audiences.
The first part is Motor Trend and this can shrink the audience to, car enthusiast. The second is Merica .
The online Urban dictionary describes Merica as, [a] whole new way of saying America. ... Merica is
the whole experience of America summed up in a stereotypical way. Eating anything deep fried,
shooting shotguns, getting so fat you attempt to use the force to levitate [something] off the coffee
table.... It is often expressed in a proud and commonly exaggerated manor. This phrase is one to be
only used when the time comes to say it, like at a[n] eating contest or at a mud pit wrestling match. (*)
This demonstrates that the audience for this magazine is also countrified and patriotic individuals.
When analyzing each individual ad, the audiences veers off into two completely different directions.
In an interview with a Delta College student named Tyler Sanford, he expressed how the Toyo Tires
advertisement snatched more of his attention because of its masculinity. The question that follows is,
was this a hidden message to reel the viewer in and in result, the viewer would search for the meaning
behind the advertisement? In a different interview with Larry

Wic s Bankruptcy And The Loss Of Northern Brazil
Amidst the WIC s bankruptcy and the loss of Northern Brazil to Portugal, the Dutch found themselves
on the arid island of Curacao with 100,000 slaves and minimal opportunities. But the Dutch are
known for their ingenuity and they quickly rebounded from their losses even while her corporate was
itself a sinking ship. Part of their initial success revolves around them settling in Curacao before 1642.
The WIC realized how invaluable a slave trade depot would be if Northern Brazil would ever fall back
into the hands of the Portuguese. Once Curacao was established, the Dutch knew they could continue
transporting slaves to the Caribbean and then sell them to the highest bidder. Initially the highest
bidder was the Spanish because, unlike the Portuguese, they paid the WIC in cash. However, it took
some time to convince the Spanish to consider asiento contracts with them.
With the end of the Eighty Years War in 1648, Portugal had previously revolted against Spain in 1640.
Portugal, as Postma explains, had monopolized the slave trade to the Spanish colonies because they
were the only Europeans who had African trading bases that could obtain large numbers of slaves. As
mentioned, the Treaty of Tordesillas prevented Spain from entering into Africa herself. Therefore, the
Spanish had to find alternative means to acquiring their needed labor force. At first the Spanish
acquired their African slaves by way of illicit trade because they felt that the Dutch and English were

Sources and Symptoms Resistance to change can cost a significant loss to the business such as project
failure, failure of new initiatives, and customer loss. Resistance is simply a reactive behavior.
Managing employee s resistance to change involves determining both its sources and symptoms. The
sources of resistance are employees perceptions of change which are the beliefs and emotions that
color their judgment. Sources are the root from which the symptoms of resistance grow. The sources
are the thinking and feeling elements of the resistance. The sources of resistance are the emotional and
intellectual responses to the change. The symptoms of resistance are employees reactions to the
change. Symptoms involve dysfunctional behaviors that result when employees act to the sources of
resistance. The symptoms are the behaviors that result from the employees thoughts and feelings about
the change. Active and Passive Reaction to change in an organization is directly linked to employees
perception about the personal impact. The symptoms of reaction can be found at every level of the
organization. Employees resistance to change can be categorized under two categories, active and
passive. The active resistance involves outwardly challenging the change; push back by openly

Essay about Martin Luther s Impact on Germany
Martin Luther s Impact on Germany
Although we remember Luther as the great thinker who sparked the reformation with his
revolutionary ideas , it would be unfair to not acknowledge that Luther was the first to form these new
ideas. Many attempts at reform had been attempted prior to Luther, led by heresies such as John
Wycliffe, John Hus et al. In fact, during the course of Christianity there has been resistance and
dissent, attempts at reform. Fortunately for Luther, when he made his idea and theses public, the
German or rather Holy Roman Empire was in such a state that made conditions very well suited for

Luther s message was particularly successful in spreading and sustaining due to its flexibility. Luther
purposeful made it so, adapting it to different audiences. The finer points were understood by the
literate types in the larger cities and the rural communities picked up on beneficial points to them and
the portrayal of a corrupt papacy. The agreement between the literate and illiterate shows just how
flexible his message was.
Religion was the main subject of Luther s ideas and teachings, his disgust at indulgence selling
sparking him of to try and start a reform. The church and clergy were seen as being very corrupt at all
levels, and were with held in little respect by many. Indulgences were sold to the laity, denouncing
their sins with a word from the pope. These were not cheap and not available to many save the rich
who could afford them. This did not please many, believing it was unfair that they would have to
spend more time in purgatory just for being materially less well off. Much of the money from
indulgence selling went to Albert of Mainz, and was used to fuel yet more corruption, such as bribery
prior elections and concubinage, breaking the clergies rules of chastity. This corruption was
widespread and present at all levels of the clergy,

Analysis Of Thoreau s Walden s The Woods
Transcendentalism is a philosophical movement that began in the early nineteenth century in America.
One of the major tenets of transcendentalism is that society and social institutions corrupt the purity of
an individual. Transcendentalists believe that individuals should believe in themselves and not
conform to others beliefs. They think that society is a major reason why individuals lack self
determination and the ability to possess their own values.
Henry David Thoreau, one of the major transcendentalist composed a philosophical

Thoreau finds himself embracing the simplicity of nature and shows distaste in the society that forces

He believes that slavery is an immoral action that should banned. He feels disturbed by the
government for their involvements in the Mexican American war and their actions in expanding
slavery. Thoreau realizes that the government uses laws and restrictions forcefully to make individuals
conform. In this way, individuals are forced to comply to the government actions despite opposing
them. Thoreau refuses to pay his poll taxes as a way to protest the Mexican American war and the
expansion of slavery in the South. He believes that individuals should oppose the government by not
paying for taxes if they believe that the government is corrupt. Thoreau s opposition to the
government collides with transcendentalism because they believe that society corrupts the intuition of
an individual. Transcendentalists encourage individuals to follow their own will and oppose to things
they disagree with like the corruption of the government. In addition to the criticism of the
government, Thoreau feels disappointed at people conforming to society s standard. Thoreau prefers
his old clothes than new and extravagant ones. I say, beware of all enterprises that require new clothes,
and not rather a new wearer of clothes. If there is not a new man, how can the new clothes be made to

Descartes Teachings On Dualism
To understand how the dualist commits a category mistake, one must first understand Descartes
teachings on dualism from the Meditations on First Philosophy. Firstly, Descartes sees the mind as an
immaterial, non physical soul. He believes that his thoughts can be altered but he can never be tricked
into the thinking that he is thinking when he is not. While he has complete faith in the existence of his
mind, he doubts the existence of his body and the existence of other people s minds. The reason for his
doubt in his body is that he believes he can be tricked into perceiving himself as having a body when
he in fact does not. Descartes sees the mind as separate from the body and believes that the two are
composed of different kinds of substances, one being mental and the other being physical. He further
separates the mind from the body by claiming that because the mind has the property of being
undoubtable while the body has the property of being doubtable, the two cannot be the same thing.
According to Gilbert Ryle in his article Descartes Myth he sets out to prove that there is no distinction
between the body and the mind, that the existence of the mind is obvious, and that Descartes entire
theory is founded on unsound reasoning. Ryle claims that the substance dualist makes a category
mistake because they refer to the mind and the body as existing in two separate categories. He
explains that a category mistake represents the facts of mental life as if they

Paul Laurence Dunbar writes this short story. The Ingrate has three main characters, Mr. and Mrs.
Leckler, white farmers who owns a large plantation in the South, and Josh Leckler, their slave. In this
story, Josh envisioned slavery as a deep night. He is determined to go to Canada called the land of

Mr. Leckler considers himself a noble man and justifies his action to teach Josh to read by saying that
he taught his slave to read because he is a generous man and did not want Josh to be cheated while
conducting his business. Although, he has been cheating Josh out of his wages, he justifies himself by
having his wife teach Josh how to read, write, and count money.

Focus of Research of Viral Infections Involves...
Introduction An emerging area of research focus on the investigation of viral infections involved in
neurodegenerative diseases. Data suggests that viral infections promote hallmark events seen in
neuronal degeneration such as in Alzheimer s Disease (AD). In AD, protein aggregates of β amyloid
peptides forming plaques and neurofibrillary tangles composed of hyperphosphorylated tau has been
shown to impair brain functions. Areas affected are the hippocampus and cerebral cortex responsible
for cognitive and locomotor skills. Other contributing factors to neuronal degeneration includes
oxidative stress, and modifications to autophagic and apoptotic pathways. This paper looks at herpes
simplex type 1 involvement in AD.
History
The origin of Herpes Virus is unknown but its lesions and transmission were recognized by
Hippocrates and Shakespeare during earlier times (Kaplan 1973). In 1919, the experimental works of
Lowenstein confirmed the infectious nature of HSV (Holden 1932). Twentieth century Herpes simplex

Analysis Of The Article The Pelican Brief
The Wetlands In Grisham s novel, The Pelican Brief, he presents a case where an organization
attempts to protect the coastal marshes of Louisiana against the selfish oil companies and citizens that
wish to destroy it for money. This is a tremendous concern that people deal with in America. John
Grisham wrote The Pelican Brief, in 1992 and it was one of his best selling books. Louisiana s
marshes are being destroyed and are suffering greatly because of humans. Grisham shows extensive
knowledge of the wetlands as well as the wildlife through discussing the endangered Brown Pelican
and how humans have brought it to the brink of extinction. Numberless amounts of waterfowl, birds,
and countless species that call Louisiana home are now being terrorized thanks to non native species,
humans and a numerous amount of different causes. The Brown Pelican, Louisiana s state bird, has
been endangered until 1995, and about half of all the geese in North America spend the winter in the
coastal marshes (Elliott, Charles). Additionally, Louisiana is the leading state for the number of
wintering ducks (¨SGP¨). The marshes are extremely important to the fowl that live there year round
and for the ones that do not. The Bobwhite Quail, that live there year round, have suffered huge losses
to their population. From 1966 they have declined 75%, primarily due to habitat degradation (¨SGP¨).
One of the reasons populations of fowl have been going down is the result of invasive species. The

Third Man Corruption
The Film Noir, The Third Man , showed the evident effect that World War 2 had on people. Since this
film was produced in 1949, after World War 2, it reflected the social fears and cultural changes that
have plagued people during post war. Before the war, there was the ideology of the strong American
family. This family portrayed strong values such as happiness, hardworking, and optimism. However
during post war, there was a shade of darkness as fear, greed and evil lurking. The Third Man
portrayed the social, economic and moral corruption which reflects off the social evils during the post
war era. One example of economic corruption is shown in the Ferris Wheel Scene. In this scene, we

Their moral corruption relates back to the measures that spies had to take and the fear they installed
during the post war era/Cold War. Limes faked his own death and kills someone else to take his place.
His death caused emotional distress for people that care about him. His death caused people like
Holly, to go around the town trying to solve his murder case while leaving his mistress, Anna to be
heart broken. Limes also continues to puts innocent children into hospitals because of his diluted
penicillin. This relates back to the moral corruption of both CIA and KGB spies. Both parties were
performing acts of espionage to gather intel on each other. Although these spies weren t selling on the
black market, they were putting their families under emotional distress as well as possibly tearing
families apart. Despite Lime s lack of family members shown in the film, Anna and Holly were the
closest he had to family. Additionally, the paranoia of spies possibly being your next door neighbor,
installed fear into normal citizens. Knowing that spies were living among other citizens caused panic
and anxiety to many. Reciprocal to the movie, we see the discomfort and anxiety that Limes have
caused Holly. Holly runs all over the city, trying to piece together his friends death while clearing
Limes name. While causing him all these troubles, Holly inevitably and terrifyingly comes to realize
that Limes

Literary Analysis Of Gloria Anzaldua s Borderlands
There are many different styles of writing that authors use to achieve a certain affect. For example,
how a writer chooses words, languages and structures certain sentences and or paragraphs. An author s
different strategies influence the audience by giving them or taking away a certain understanding that
the author is trying to achieve. Gloria Anzaldua in Borderlands , explains a large portion of
geographical history and of her own history through just one chapter. She wants the readers to
understand the struggles she has had both internal and external, and she does this through her
rhetorical strategies. While doing so from the begging of the opener for the first chapter The
homeland, Aztlan: El otro Mexico the reader will encounter various literary discourse. The usage of
writing mostly in English, with Spanish lines used strategically and together throughout, will offer a
historical and universal path, that affectively opens the borders at times for the reader of
misunderstanding. Over nearly two full pages of text, Anzaldua takes the reader on a frustrating,
historical journey. The readers are exposed to a variety of Anzaldua s struggles and her points of view.
She takes us through multiple styles of writing in just a few pages. In the world today, people are
faced with many obstacles and borders that causes frustration, as Anzaldua does through writing.
Anzaldua shifts rhetorical strategies which causes the reader confusion and a desire to understand

Observing Social Behavior In Better Call Saul
Observing Social Behavior Social behavior is everywhere in society, hence why I didn t go far to
observe it. I observed social behavior by watching the first episode of Better Call Saul with no sound,
observing only the characters actions and the setting, to try and decipher the plot. By doing this, I have
gathered what I trust to be, the plot of the show. I believe it s a flashback to a young lawyer, James
McGill, trying to make it in his field. Between the struggle to make it and present day, something has
gone wrong. He is very skittish and afraid someone is going to come after him. We see this when he is
working at his present job, as a Cinnabon employee, and a man is staring at him. James starts
panicking, you can see him gulp down his spit, he is afraid this man is after him, but then the man
goes to greet his others outside the entrance and James is relieved. He then goes home to an empty
house which is nicer than what a Cinnabon worker could afford and then the scene changes and the
flashback begins. At the time, I couldn t tell this was a flashback, originally believing it was just
another character. Throughout careful observation, I came up with the theory of the show being a
flashback of James McGill s life.
The flashback starts in a court room and the entire room of people look annoyed, as if they are waiting
for someone. The lawyer is pacing back and forth, talking to himself, showing his nerves about the
case in the men s restroom. When he finally enters the

Emotional and Cognitive Intelligence
Cognitive intelligence and emotional intelligence have both been widely examined with regard to their
effect on individual workplace abilities. A critical comparison of the two concepts will be the basis of
this essay. Some theorists have hypothesised that the ease with which an employee can process
information and work towards solutions (our cognitive intelligence) is the key aspect in our ability to
contribute to the workplace, particularly in more complex environments (Viswesvaran Ones, 2002).
While others support the theory that our ability to use and adapt to emotion (our emotional
intelligence; EI) has the greatest affect on our organisational involvement (Cherniss, Extein, Goleman,
Weissberg, 2006). Through exploration of both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has been studied and elaborated upon so much, that what was initially a concise realm of specificity,
has particularly in the area of EI testing become convoluted by measures of social intelligence and
emotional and social competencies (Cherniss, 2010), which while similar to EI do distinctly deviate
from the generally accepted Mayer et al. 2000 model of it. Some measures even include tests of
cognitive intelligence, the concept with which it is supposedly in direct contrast. This has led to
criticism about whether or not measures of EI have construct validity (Cherniss, 2010).
From a theoretical standpoint the equivocality regarding an agreed definition of EI most specifically
affects the theorists studying the concept. From an organisational perspective the practical
implications of uncertainty surround the measurement of the concept, as opposed to its definition. For
example if an organisation relies heavily on a team which is cohesive, cooperative and connected to
one another the business may screen potential employees to ensure they will suit the role using a
measure of emotional intelligence. Here in lay the problem; if a construct cannot be clearly defined,
how can a test every truly have construct validity how can the variables indicating an particular
outcome ever be accurate, when we do not know exactly what we are measuring? Moreover, a focus
on EI within businesses and organisations could have significant drawbacks. Unavoidable though

Examples Of Negative Utilitarianism
Negative Utilitarianism:
Negative utilitarianism is a variant of the moral hypothesis utilitarianism that gives more noteworthy
need to diminishing enduring (negative utility or disutility ) than to expanding satisfaction (positive
utility). This contrasts from traditional utilitarianism, which does not assert that lessening enduring is
characteristically more vital than expanding joy. The two adaptations of utilitarianism hold that
ethically right and ethically wrong activities depend entirely on the results for general well being.
Prosperity alludes to the condition of the individual. The term negative utilitarianism is utilized by a
few creators to signify the hypothesis that diminishing negative prosperity is the main thing that at last
issues morally. Others recognize solid and frail variants of negative utilitarianism, where solid forms
are just worried about decreasing negative prosperity, and feeble renditions say that both positive and
negative prosperity matter yet that negative prosperity matters more.
Different adaptations of negative utilitarianism vary in how much weight they provide for negative
prosperity ( disutility ) contrasted with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Civil War Vs Radical Reconstruction
1 ) The century following the civil war saw massive and unprecedented expansion in the reach and
interconnectivity between the federal government and American citizens. Starting with radical
reconstruction all the way up to the development of the New Right, the federal government reached
into civilian lives with new legislation that were direct reactions to social fears or conflicts. While
each act of expansion did alienate certain sects of the population, it was with this growth that the
federal government expanded freedom and democracy to the masses. The beginning of this century of
increased governmental intervention was marked by the policy of Radical Reconstruction. This course
of action allowed newly freed African Americans to enjoy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Finance At The University Of Florida
Page 1: Personal Reflection 1. I am studying Finance at the University of Florida because not only do
I have a creative side but an intellectual side of me too. Crazily, mathematics comes naturally to me
and is also a huge concept in finance, but finance isn t just numbers, it incorporates various aspects
such as communication, problem solving, and creativity. Finance unites my limitless passion for math
and joins it with some of my personality traits, which is the best of both worlds. More specifically, in
my upbringing, money was tight and my parents always stressed when facing financial issues. My
background catalyzed my admiration to the effect the power of money holds when used properly.
Finding the best financial effects and awareness of all options to make well informed financial
decisions to assist an individual or a company in the most beneficial way seems rewarding and
intriguing to me. So, all of these elements have directed me into my interest in Finance. 2. Ideally,
successful, inspired, independent, and skilled are just a few ideas that describe my picture perfect
image of what I imagine of my life 5 years ahead of today. After I receive my bachelor s degree in
Finance I plan to pursue higher education in a Master s program for Finance. I would love to do my

Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Beard
Growing a beard is something every boy looks forward to. The prospect of standing in front of a
mirror and trimming it into whatever shape you like is priceless. But not everyone ends up with a
smoothly shaven face. For some people, shaving becomes a daily nightmare. There are several ways
you can trim your beard. You could either use a simple pair of scissors, a regular razor or a beard
trimmer. With scissors, you will take more time and might end up with an uneven looking beard. And
if you opt for a razor, you are at high risk of getting razor burns or cuts. If you are looking for a
perfectly clean trim, then a trimming machine is the best choice. Simply because with it, you will
never suffer razor burn or cuts and nicks. There are lots of beard trimmers out there but none is better

The Internet of Things Allows Interaction between the Real...
The Internet of Things is a vision of a global network that connects various physical world objects to
the IT infrastructure. This vision has been inspired by the success made in emerging technologies such
as Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID), wireless sensor networks, and mobile communication. The
realisation of such a global object network will allow seamless interaction and cooperation between
the real and logical world.
Many of the IoT applications will include monitoring devices reporting on different aspects of the
system being monitored. For instance, many buildings and offices include occupancy, and temperature
sensors. Vehicles could be equipped with monitoring devices reporting on locations, fuel consumption,
etc. However, current IoT applications are domain specific, with no wider vision for reusing the data
generated by devices in other applications or sharing them with other users in other domains. The
Internet of Things is lacking a well defined architecture that could help create a competitive
marketplace of applications and solutions without locking any users into using a monolithic stack
from a single solution provider.
In this context, this project focuses on designing an open ICT platform to enable the convergence of
IoT applications, by exploring two core theme: Smart Homes and E Health. This choice is based on
the popularity of these themes within the scientific and industrial community at the moment. As such,
we believe that the proposed

Causes Of The 1962 Rebellion Essay
The rebellion occurred on 8th December 1962 during the ruler of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa adul
Khairi Waddien. It involves the first nationalistic party in Brunei named Partai Rakyat Brunei (PRB),
which led by Sheikh A.M. Azahari and the rebellion led by their illegal armed forced, which to be

the 1959 constitution can also be the reason for the outbreak of the 1962 rebellion. This is because

The Gang System And The Task System
During the time of slavery, planters and plantation organizers had two types of labor systems. The
Gang System and the Task System. The two differed greatly in that the gang system tasked slaves to
work all day, from sunrise to sunset, allowing for breaks for lunch and dinner. Louisiana Sugar
Plantations provided the most typical example of the gang system in the American South. Slaves were
expected to labor up to twenty four hours straight during harvest periods. Heat exhaustion and
accidents were common as many slaves were worked to death under the gang system. This system is
characterized by its brutality and inefficiency. Whereas under the task system, the slaves would be
given certain tasks to complete for the day. Tasks were often measured in terms of an acre, additional
on rice plantations in tidal floodplains, the work was divided into sections as sectioned by irrigation
ditches. The slaves would work more efficiently to complete these tasks in order to enjoy the free time
afforded to them by their masters. This system allowed slaves to work for their own benefit. They
could hunt, fish and work their own plots, thereby improving their nutritional intake. Slaves could
even sell surplus food in the local markets as well for a modest amount of profit. The task system

Themes And Alienation In Bartleby The Scrivener By Herman...
In Herman Melville s short story, Bartleby the Scrivener the author portrays the action and reaction of
his characters to form three important themes: Alienation, man s desire to avoid conflict, and man s
desire to keep a free conscience. Some readers may infer that Herman is giving them an insight on
specifically the way Bartleby mind works. However through Bartleby s responses and reactions we
learn more about the narrator, and is ironically where the themes arise. From the time Herman wrote
this short story in 1853 to todays society in 2015 we can still see the appearance of theses themes.
Alienation is an important literary theme that can be found throughout Hermans story, Bartleby the
Scrivener. It appears near Bartleby s death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bartleby, I owe you twelve dollars on account; here are thirty two; the off twenty are yours. Will you
take it? and I handed the bills towards him. But he made no motion. I will leave them here then, The
tenants of the office try to put the responsibility of dealing with Bartleby back on the narrator, but they
are denied and eventually have Bartleby removed from the premises by law officers. The narrator feels
as if he has to tend to Bartleby because he put him in prison. The narrator pays the prison employee to
take extra care of Bartleby. Though the narrator made several efforts to clear his conscious with good
deeds he never is satisfied. In current day 2015 people are always trying to smooth over arguments
and conflicts to maintain a good person . On the other hand some citizens feel it is there human duty to
tend to others and thats what makes their conscious clean. The narrator in Bartleby the Scrivener leans
more towards the first example because he did Bartleby wrong and took care of him to make his
conscious clean.
In Herman Melville s short story, Bartleby the Scrivener, the reader is left with the impression that all
people, including lawyers, have compassion for other humans, and at some point, that compassion will
show through. The writer also uses three main themes in his writing: Alienation, man s desire to avoid
conflict,

America Vs Today
The America I believe in is happier than the one we are today. The present day America is full of
hatred and cruel souls. People think violence is the solution to our problems and that is obviously not
working. Americans need to pass love and happiness not bombs and bullets. Here is how America
needs to change for the better.
Though people may be facing problems in their personal life that does not give them the excuse to be
harmful to the people or life around them. One way we could eliminate one personal problem many
people face in America is to make more homeless shelters or food banquets. Maybe if more people
had a home to live in there would be a little less hatred in the world.
Murder is a huge problem in the US. Even though there is

Historical Movie Selma
I seem to not enjoy historical movies as much; however, I have enjoyed this movie. Historical movies
tend to be boring and do not interest me as much as other genres. There are reasons like, the situation
does not relate to me, or it is too much information that would make me a passive watcher. I enjoyed
Selma because, I like Martin Luther King and I heard about this movement. Martin Luther King is one
of my favorite leaders, and this movie makes me have similar feelings to those struggling. David
Oyelowo, the main character in this movie, being the Martin Luther King in Selma does a great job of
mimicking MLK. Martin Luther King, leader in the African American Civil Rights Movement,
influenced many people and won the hearts of even a lot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The police start beating up the African Americans. This is where Jimmie Lee Jackson dies and this is s
significant event because the cause of his death was because of the police. Martin Luther King visits
Jimmie s father and it is a very emotional and moving scene. This 82 years old man s daughter,
Jimmie s mother, could not make it either and passed away. The scene changes to where Martin Luther
King is lecturing in the church. He states this and I seem to agree with, Our lives are not fully lived, if
we are not willing to die for those we love, and for what we believe. (King, Martin). We need to

The Last Lecture Randy Pausch Analysis
The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch is a compilation of stories and advice from Pausch. He includes
excerpts from the lecture itself; as well as other experiences that contribute to the theme of the book.
The book focuses on the achievement of dreams. Pausch expresses the importance of living every day
to its fullest potential. He states that It s not about how you achieve your dreams. Its about how to lead
your life. If you lead your life the right way, karma will take care of itself. The dreams will come to
you (Page 205/206) . A section of the book focuses on the possibilities that arise when an individual
simply asks for something. Pausch gives two examples of this in the book. He discusses a trip to
Disney in which he asked the monorail operator if it would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He employs tactics such as asking for something one desires, overcoming obstacles, and being self
aware. Having the mind to simply ask for something that I desire may be a crucial trait to have.
Additionally, obstacles have been and will continue to be present throughout my life. Whether in
academics, sports, or my personal life, challenges will always arise. One of the most important pieces
of advice that he gives, I believe, is to worry less about what others are thinking. As a young adult,
this is often hard to do. However, there are many benefits to taking the advice of Pausch. His advice
will likely lead to being a more confident, successful person. The changes, large or small, that can be
made will affect every day of my life. Struggling with depression has allowed me to have a great
understanding of the importance of overcoming obstacles. Similarly, dealing with severe anxiety has
allowed me to understand the importance of asking for something even if it may seem difficult.
Making every day count, through the aforementioned methods, can certainly change the path that my
life may

Current and Resistance Physics Investigation
Aim:
Investigate how the length of a wire affects the current and resistance of a wire.
Prediction and Hypothesis:
I think as you increase the length of the Constatan wire, you also increase the amount of resistance.
The current is the flow of electrons; the current is dependent on the amount of voltage, which is
applied. Voltage is the push given to the current. The current has to go through a circuit, which
contains resistance so if you increase that push you also increase the flow of the current. All materials
have a slight resistance to electricity factors affecting the resistance are: Length, Voltage Temperature
and Surface Area

This showed that the wire was very weak if given more than 5 volts because the wire lets electricity
flow faster and faster which then leads to the heat eventually breaking the wire. I found that if I
decreased the voltage to a reading of 1.5 volts the wire stayed in tact enough to give a good reading
and thereby giving better overall results.

The Celebration Of Carnival In Twelfth Night And Paradise...
Carnival in history is a grand celebration that most normal people today in Louisiana would have
called Mardi Gras. The grand festival of Carnival is famously known for critiquing numerous social,
gender, political, and religious norms during the Renaissance. William Shakespeare s play about cross
dressing Twelfth Night and John Milton s religious fictional Paradise Lost utilize the festivities and
the enjoyment of traditional festivities carnival ideas like Viola s and Satan s disguises; role reversals
of Olivia, Satan, and Eve; excess food eaten by Sir Toby and Eve; madness in terms of Twelfth Night s
craziness and Satan s wrath; and violence in terms of physical and psychological.
Twelfth Night s name itself is a clear reference to the famous Christian celebration of the Epiphany,
which closely represents the twelfth night of Christmas and the beginning of the celebration of
Carnival which often has partaken in wearing disguises and societal role reversals. The religious
celebration of the Epiphany is also the point in historical religious history where the three wise men or
magi respectfully brought the three gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the recently born Jesus
Christ of Nazareth. In terms of disguise, Viola skillfully and dutifully disguises herself as Cesario in
order to safely find her long lost brother Sebastian who she sadly and quickly presumes is dead. Since
Twelfth Night is a play, the actors put on their disguise, and traditionally the role of

Kant On Prostitution
Prostitution is often called the world s oldest profession. It has been traced back to thousands of years
ago, and is still happening within our society today. There has been an overwhelming amount of
debate surrounding the topic of legalization of prostitution within Canada. Prostitution can be
determined at many angles, and possibly become legal in our nation, however, prostitution is proven
to be unethical, demoralizing and criminalizing. Prostitution is associated with a great deal of crime,
such as human trafficking, sexual assault/rape, and the demoralization of a human body. Therefore,
legalizing prostitution increases the demand for immoral behavior within our society. One form of
illegal prostitution is streetwalking. This is where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kant deems that people have a responsibility to act morally and to have good intentions, because it
will then lead to ethical result. Meaning if you do good, good will be done onto you, therefore we
should make moral decisions because it determines the ethical outcome. However, he also believes
that is it not possible to help others without helping ourselves. Prostitution correlates within Kant s
theory because it evaluates the moral issue of whether the service of prostitution is degrading ones
body. Prostitutes allow men, who are willing to pay, to use their bodies to as methods of pleasure
towards men. Therefore, according to Kant, the demoralization of a woman s body, resulting from
prostitution is considered immoral because it violates the formulation of means to an end , signifying
that all persons are valuable and using them to satisfy our desires is deemed inappropriate. Within the
Catholic Church, prostitution is deemed a sin because it defies the principles of a human body being a
temple of God. Corinthians 6:19 states, What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy
Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your

Paradise Lost Literary Analysis
This paper will argue that the blending of ancient and modern literary ideas is significant to Milton s
goal of being considered one of the great poets, as his writing style emulates that of older texts, he
repeated references stories written by those great authors, and the fact that his book is about the
creation of everything. First, I will talk about the way Milton writes Paradise Lost. This is significant,
as his writing style is similar to Virgil, an ancient Roman Poet. Next, I will discuss Milton s idea of the
gods of old in the Christian world, and how this idea links the ancient texts to what he is writing.
Finally, I will discuss Milton s choice of topic, his choice of plot points, and how it relates to his goal
of being among the greatest poets. By emulating the writing styles of other famous epics, written by
authors of the past, Milton hoped to place himself amongst them. An example of his emulation is the
extended similes that he uses. Extended similes, or epic similes, go as far back as Homer s epics.
Milton uses these more frequently and includes more detail than those in older texts. For example, he
compares Satan s arrival in Eden to the smell of a fish (Book 4, 166). Shortly after, he compares Eden
to the field where Proserpine gathered flowers, a Roman goddess who was kidnapped by the god of
death. These similes seem to be simple comparisons, meant to improve the text, but, in actuality, these
similes go much deeper. Looking at the second simile,

  • 5. 68ga Anti-Hr2 Case Study The data obtained from this clinical case show that 68Ga DTPAAnti HER2 has the capability to identify HER2 expressing metastatic lesions from breast cancer. Importantly, HER2 overexpression was foreseen in lymph nodes and lung metastases by molecular imaging when the immunohistochemistry analysis was indeterminate for both metastatic sites and, even if 18F FDG seems to be better to visualize tumours, 68Ga DTPAAnti HER2 showed high specificity to detect the pulmonary metastatic lesions. The origin of the moderate uptake using 68Ga DTPAAnti HER2 remains to be determined, but may be related to low levels of HER2 expression. Noteworthy, 68Ga had a significant background activity in the liver and heart (SUVmax=9.45 and 8.7, respectively) that did not represent a problem in the present case as signal noise did not interfere with the detection of the pulmonary masses. Nevertheless, due to the background noise frequently reduces the detection of tissue lesions11, the latter is proposed as the best time point to obtain images with an optimal signal to noise ratio12. If you do not agree with feminism, it could possibly be because everything you know about it is wrong. According to a poll conducted by PerryUndem in 2015, a research and communications firm, 85 percent of Americans believe in equality for women. Yet, only 18 percent of respondents identified as a feminist. Evidently, it is a belief that is wildly misunderstood and learning more about it could change one s perception of the world completely. Social conflict is created by the differing interests of competing social groupings, known as classes. A writer in the Marxist tradition would emphasize that the links between groupings within society are very weak and marked by very diverse interests of each particular group. Marxists argue that the functionalist view is an illusion to think of modern society as one which is in a continuous state of harmony. On the contrary, every society is characterized by continuous conflict. There exists a struggle between the various groups and classes of society. The struggle for power, prestigue and economics goods gives rise to competition between the various sectors of society. Wic s Bankruptcy And The Loss Of Northern Brazil Amidst the WIC s bankruptcy and the loss of Northern Brazil to Portugal, the Dutch found themselves on the arid island of Curacao with 100,000 slaves and minimal opportunities. But the Dutch are known for their ingenuity and they quickly rebounded from their losses even while her corporate was itself a sinking ship. Part of their initial success revolves around them settling in Curacao before 1642. The WIC realized how invaluable a slave trade depot would be if Northern Brazil would ever fall back into the hands of the Portuguese. Once Curacao was established, the Dutch knew they could continue transporting slaves to the Caribbean and then sell them to the highest bidder. Initially the highest bidder was the Spanish because, unlike the Portuguese, they paid the WIC in cash. However, it took some time to convince the Spanish to consider asiento contracts with them. With the end of the Eighty Years War in 1648, Portugal had previously revolted against Spain in 1640. • 17. Analysis Of Thoreau s Walden s The Woods Transcendentalism is a philosophical movement that began in the early nineteenth century in America. One of the major tenets of transcendentalism is that society and social institutions corrupt the purity of an individual. Transcendentalists believe that individuals should believe in themselves and not conform to others beliefs. They think that society is a major reason why individuals lack self determination and the ability to possess their own values. He believes that slavery is an immoral action that should banned. He feels disturbed by the government for their involvements in the Mexican American war and their actions in expanding slavery. Thoreau realizes that the government uses laws and restrictions forcefully to make individuals conform. In this way, individuals are forced to comply to the government actions despite opposing them. Thoreau refuses to pay his poll taxes as a way to protest the Mexican American war and the expansion of slavery in the South. He believes that individuals should oppose the government by not paying for taxes if they believe that the government is corrupt. Thoreau s opposition to the government collides with transcendentalism because they believe that society corrupts the intuition of an individual. Transcendentalists encourage individuals to follow their own will and oppose to things they disagree with like the corruption of the government. In addition to the criticism of the government, Thoreau feels disappointed at people conforming to society s standard. Thoreau prefers his old clothes than new and extravagant ones. • 18. Descartes Teachings On Dualism To understand how the dualist commits a category mistake, one must first understand Descartes teachings on dualism from the Meditations on First Philosophy. Firstly, Descartes sees the mind as an immaterial, non physical soul. He believes that his thoughts can be altered but he can never be tricked into the thinking that he is thinking when he is not. While he has complete faith in the existence of his mind, he doubts the existence of his body and the existence of other people s minds. The reason for his doubt in his body is that he believes he can be tricked into perceiving himself as having a body when he in fact does not. Descartes sees the mind as separate from the body and believes that the two are composed of different kinds of substances, one being mental and the other being physical. He further separates the mind from the body by claiming that because the mind has the property of being undoubtable while the body has the property of being doubtable, the two cannot be the same thing. According to Gilbert Ryle in his article Descartes Myth he sets out to prove that there is no distinction between the body and the mind, that the existence of the mind is obvious, and that Descartes entire theory is founded on unsound reasoning. Ryle claims that the substance dualist makes a category mistake because they refer to the mind and the body as existing in two separate categories. He explains that a category mistake represents the facts of mental life as if they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Data suggests that viral infections promote hallmark events seen in neuronal degeneration such as in Alzheimer s Disease (AD). In AD, protein aggregates of β amyloid peptides forming plaques and neurofibrillary tangles composed of hyperphosphorylated tau has been shown to impair brain functions. Areas affected are the hippocampus and cerebral cortex responsible for cognitive and locomotor skills. Other contributing factors to neuronal degeneration includes oxidative stress, and modifications to autophagic and apoptotic pathways. This paper looks at herpes simplex type 1 involvement in AD. History The origin of Herpes Virus is unknown but its lesions and transmission were recognized by Hippocrates and Shakespeare during earlier times (Kaplan 1973). In 1919, the experimental works of Lowenstein confirmed the infectious nature of HSV (Holden 1932). Twentieth century Herpes simplex virus (HSV) research lead to the discovery that aside from skin infections, HSV also infects the central nervous system (CNS) (Kaplan 1973). This is a tremendous concern that people deal with in America. John Grisham wrote The Pelican Brief, in 1992 and it was one of his best selling books. Louisiana s marshes are being destroyed and are suffering greatly because of humans. Grisham shows extensive knowledge of the wetlands as well as the wildlife through discussing the endangered Brown Pelican and how humans have brought it to the brink of extinction. Numberless amounts of waterfowl, birds, and countless species that call Louisiana home are now being terrorized thanks to non native species, humans and a numerous amount of different causes. The Brown Pelican, Louisiana s state bird, has been endangered until 1995, and about half of all the geese in North America spend the winter in the coastal marshes (Elliott, Charles). Additionally, Louisiana is the leading state for the number of wintering ducks (¨SGP¨). The marshes are extremely important to the fowl that live there year round and for the ones that do not. The Bobwhite Quail, that live there year round, have suffered huge losses to their population. From 1966 they have declined 75%, primarily due to habitat degradation (¨SGP¨). I observed social behavior by watching the first episode of Better Call Saul with no sound, observing only the characters actions and the setting, to try and decipher the plot. By doing this, I have gathered what I trust to be, the plot of the show. I believe it s a flashback to a young lawyer, James McGill, trying to make it in his field. Between the struggle to make it and present day, something has gone wrong. He is very skittish and afraid someone is going to come after him. We see this when he is working at his present job, as a Cinnabon employee, and a man is staring at him. James starts panicking, you can see him gulp down his spit, he is afraid this man is after him, but then the man goes to greet his others outside the entrance and James is relieved. He then goes home to an empty house which is nicer than what a Cinnabon worker could afford and then the scene changes and the flashback begins. At the time, I couldn t tell this was a flashback, originally believing it was just another character. Throughout careful observation, I came up with the theory of the show being a flashback of James McGill s life. • 26. Emotional and Cognitive Intelligence Cognitive intelligence and emotional intelligence have both been widely examined with regard to their effect on individual workplace abilities. A critical comparison of the two concepts will be the basis of this essay. Some theorists have hypothesised that the ease with which an employee can process information and work towards solutions (our cognitive intelligence) is the key aspect in our ability to contribute to the workplace, particularly in more complex environments (Viswesvaran Ones, 2002). While others support the theory that our ability to use and adapt to emotion (our emotional intelligence; EI) has the greatest affect on our organisational involvement (Cherniss, Extein, Goleman, Weissberg, 2006). Through exploration of both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It has been studied and elaborated upon so much, that what was initially a concise realm of specificity, has particularly in the area of EI testing become convoluted by measures of social intelligence and emotional and social competencies (Cherniss, 2010), which while similar to EI do distinctly deviate from the generally accepted Mayer et al. 2000 model of it. Some measures even include tests of cognitive intelligence, the concept with which it is supposedly in direct contrast. This has led to criticism about whether or not measures of EI have construct validity (Cherniss, 2010). From a theoretical standpoint the equivocality regarding an agreed definition of EI most specifically affects the theorists studying the concept. From an organisational perspective the practical implications of uncertainty surround the measurement of the concept, as opposed to its definition. For example if an organisation relies heavily on a team which is cohesive, cooperative and connected to one another the business may screen potential employees to ensure they will suit the role using a measure of emotional intelligence. Here in lay the problem; if a construct cannot be clearly defined, how can a test every truly have construct validity how can the variables indicating an particular outcome ever be accurate, when we do not know exactly what we are measuring? Moreover, a focus on EI within businesses and organisations could have significant drawbacks. Unavoidable though ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of Negative Utilitarianism Negative Utilitarianism: Negative utilitarianism is a variant of the moral hypothesis utilitarianism that gives more noteworthy need to diminishing enduring (negative utility or disutility ) than to expanding satisfaction (positive utility). This contrasts from traditional utilitarianism, which does not assert that lessening enduring is characteristically more vital than expanding joy. The two adaptations of utilitarianism hold that ethically right and ethically wrong activities depend entirely on the results for general well being. Prosperity alludes to the condition of the individual. The term negative utilitarianism is utilized by a few creators to signify the hypothesis that diminishing negative prosperity is the main thing that at last issues morally. Others recognize solid and frail variants of negative utilitarianism, where solid forms are just worried about decreasing negative prosperity, and feeble renditions say that both positive and negative prosperity matter yet that negative prosperity matters more. This vision has been inspired by the success made in emerging technologies such as Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID), wireless sensor networks, and mobile communication. The realisation of such a global object network will allow seamless interaction and cooperation between the real and logical world. Many of the IoT applications will include monitoring devices reporting on different aspects of the system being monitored. As they had started to over the paperwork the older man had insisted that some of formalities be dropped since once everything was signed they would be co workers of sorts and be working close together. At first she had resisted calling him oppa. But as time slipped by the work had slipped from her lips and Jaehee wouldn t let her go back. Sorry. • 37. The German Occupiers Is The Collection Of Short Stories The narrative with the most strongly negative images of the German occupiers is the collection of short stories Νιότη χωρίς τραγούδια by Sophia Fildisi published in 1978. There are no historical facts incorporated in the narrative and the book requires little extra textual knowledge on behalf of the young reader. Little to non existent is also the explanation of the historical and political causes of the war, the responsibility for which is attributed to the insanity of the policymakers, to the θεόμουρλοι που κουμαντέρνουνε τους λαούς to those που τα κεφάλια τους είχαν άχυρο . If the identity of being a Nazi is subtracted from the identity of the German occupiers, the young reader is likely to perceive Germanness as an intrinsic predisposition towards evilness . What is more, when the responsibility for these atrocities is put on monsters and other metaphysical creatures and the author fails to point out that it was ordinary people who carried out actions of extreme violence, much like the people that the reader interacts with in their everyday life, the young reader s understanding of the matter is put in a seriously wrong perspective. In stark contrast to the depiction of the German occupiers as a personification of Evil is the portrayal of the Austrian soldier as the incarnation of Good. The third story of the book is about a young boy, Minas, who sells his cross necklace to a benevolent Austrian soldier and uses the money to celebrate Easter with his ill mother. When the Austrian soldier hears about Minas s misfortunes he bursts into tears. Later, Minas is told by a neighbour that the Austrian soldier does not support the cause of Hitler (δεν ήταν με του Χίτλερ τα καμώματα). When Minas meets with the soldier, the Austrian puts down his rifle and holds the boy to his chest with great affection, much to Minas s surprise. It involves the first nationalistic party in Brunei named Partai Rakyat Brunei (PRB), which led by Sheikh A.M. Azahari and the rebellion led by their illegal armed forced, which to be known as North Kalimantan National Army or Tentera Nasional Kalimantan Utara (TNKU) the commander, Jassin Affandy.. According to Harun Abdul Majid (2007, p.36), the revolt occurred due to the issue whether or not Brunei to join Malaysia, which to be known as Malaysian Plan. Furthermore, the 1959 constitution can also be the reason for the outbreak of the 1962 rebellion. This is because Dayang Noralipah (2010, p.163) illustrated that Partai Rakyat Brunei (PRB) reflects the dissatisfaction towards the 1959 constitution. However, Harun Abdul Majid stated that the 1962 rebellion was also because of the formation of Malaysia, but also due to another reasons such as the ambitions of the Partai Rakyat Brunei (PRB) that wanted to be independent and deport the British colonist in Brunei. They also wanted to merge Borneo territories, which involved Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei to be part of Malaysia as well as aiming to make Brunei government as a system of democracy. • 40. The Gang System And The Task System During the time of slavery, planters and plantation organizers had two types of labor systems. The Gang System and the Task System. The two differed greatly in that the gang system tasked slaves to work all day, from sunrise to sunset, allowing for breaks for lunch and dinner. Louisiana Sugar Plantations provided the most typical example of the gang system in the American South. Slaves were expected to labor up to twenty four hours straight during harvest periods. Heat exhaustion and accidents were common as many slaves were worked to death under the gang system. This system is characterized by its brutality and inefficiency. Whereas under the task system, the slaves would be given certain tasks to complete for the day. Tasks were often measured in terms of an acre, additional on rice plantations in tidal floodplains, the work was divided into sections as sectioned by irrigation ditches. The slaves would work more efficiently to complete these tasks in order to enjoy the free time afforded to them by their masters. This system allowed slaves to work for their own benefit. They could hunt, fish and work their own plots, thereby improving their nutritional intake. Slaves could even sell surplus food in the local markets as well for a modest amount of profit. The task system boosted short range performance. When a slave finished his work he was done, but if a slave worked over his time, the master paid for it. Current and Resistance Physics Investigation Aim: Investigate how the length of a wire affects the current and resistance of a wire. Prediction and Hypothesis: I think as you increase the length of the Constatan wire, you also increase the amount of resistance. The current is the flow of electrons; the current is dependent on the amount of voltage, which is applied. Voltage is the push given to the current. The current has to go through a circuit, which contains resistance so if you increase that push you also increase the flow of the current. • 48. The Celebration Of Carnival In Twelfth Night And Paradise... Carnival in history is a grand celebration that most normal people today in Louisiana would have called Mardi Gras. The grand festival of Carnival is famously known for critiquing numerous social, gender, political, and religious norms during the Renaissance. William Shakespeare s play about cross dressing Twelfth Night and John Milton s religious fictional Paradise Lost utilize the festivities and the enjoyment of traditional festivities carnival ideas like Viola s and Satan s disguises; role reversals of Olivia, Satan, and Eve; excess food eaten by Sir Toby and Eve; madness in terms of Twelfth Night s craziness and Satan s wrath; and violence in terms of physical and psychological. Twelfth Night s name itself is a clear reference to the famous Christian celebration of the Epiphany, which closely represents the twelfth night of Christmas and the beginning of the celebration of Carnival which often has partaken in wearing disguises and societal role reversals. The religious celebration of the Epiphany is also the point in historical religious history where the three wise men or magi respectfully brought the three gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the recently born Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In terms of disguise, Viola skillfully and dutifully disguises herself as Cesario in order to safely find her long lost brother Sebastian who she sadly and quickly presumes is dead. There has been an overwhelming amount of debate surrounding the topic of legalization of prostitution within Canada. Prostitution can be determined at many angles, and possibly become legal in our nation, however, prostitution is proven to be unethical, demoralizing and criminalizing. Prostitution is associated with a great deal of crime, such as human trafficking, sexual assault/rape, and the demoralization of a human body. Meaning if you do good, good will be done onto you, therefore we should make moral decisions because it determines the ethical outcome. However, he also believes that is it not possible to help others without helping ourselves. Prostitution correlates within Kant s theory because it evaluates the moral issue of whether the service of prostitution is degrading ones body. Prostitutes allow men, who are willing to pay, to use their bodies to as methods of pleasure towards men. Therefore, according to Kant, the demoralization of a woman s body, resulting from prostitution is considered immoral because it violates the formulation of means to an end , signifying that all persons are valuable and using them to satisfy our desires is deemed inappropriate. Within the Catholic Church, prostitution is deemed a sin because it defies the principles of a human body being a temple of God. Corinthians 6:19 states, What? • 50. Paradise Lost Literary Analysis This paper will argue that the blending of ancient and modern literary ideas is significant to Milton s goal of being considered one of the great poets, as his writing style emulates that of older texts, he repeated references stories written by those great authors, and the fact that his book is about the creation of everything. First, I will talk about the way Milton writes Paradise Lost. This is significant, as his writing style is similar to Virgil, an ancient Roman Poet. Next, I will discuss Milton s idea of the gods of old in the Christian world, and how this idea links the ancient texts to what he is writing. Finally, I will discuss Milton s choice of topic, his choice of plot points, and how it relates to his goal of being among the greatest poets. By emulating the writing styles of other famous epics, written by authors of the past, Milton hoped to place himself amongst them. An example of his emulation is the extended similes that he uses. Extended similes, or epic similes, go as far back as Homer s epics. Milton uses these more frequently and includes more detail than those in older texts. For example, he compares Satan s arrival in Eden to the smell of a fish (Book 4, 166). Shortly after, he compares Eden to the field where Proserpine gathered flowers, a Roman goddess who was kidnapped by the god of death. These similes seem to be simple comparisons, meant to improve the text, but, in actuality, these similes go much deeper. Looking at the second simile, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
