1. Within this slide show I have explained all of the
equipment and software used to create our 2 minute
opening sequence and what I have learned from the
process.

2. Camera: Panasonic Lumix G2
To capture the footage our opening sequence we had a Panasonic Lumix
G2 to hand which was very easy to use. On the Lumix G2 we were able to
shoot in HD which was saved as an AVCHD file on the camera’s memory
card. By filming in HD it was a great help to improving the quality of our film.
We also used a tripod to mount the camera on which reduced any camera
shake you would make if you were to hold by hand. Before this project I
hadn’t had much experience with camera’s but after finishing our opening
sequence it has made me feel a lot more confident with camera’s and all
the aspects that come with it e.g. camera shots, angles, lighting, sound.

3. Sony Vegas Pro 10
Sony Vegas Pro 10 is a software programme I have at home of which I used
to create my production logo ‘Valkyrie Pictures’. To be honest I never use
footage on this programme, I only ever use it to create introductions or titles
such as the one I created for the opening sequence, so using footage was
a great way to gain editing experience. The programme we used in class is
extremely similar to Sony Vegas Pro 10 so from the experience I had gained
from using Pro 10 I took that experience further by using the one we had at
school.

4. Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum
Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum is the video editing programme
installed on the school computers that we used to edit and export our
opening sequence. This programme has a wide range of transitions and
effects which were fairly simple to use. I first used this programme creating the
preliminary task which didn’t really challenge my knowledge of editing on
Sony Vegas, but when it came to editing our sequence then that was a
challenge. It was a challenge due to the fact the way we imagined it, wasn’t
as easy as we first thought, we all had to up our game to create it the way we
wanted it to be and from just continuously trying and experimenting to get it
the way we wanted, we came out with a great outcome.

5. Adobe Photoshop CS5
To edit our titles, production logos etc we used Adobe Photoshop CS5
which is one of the best image editing programmes around. I felt
comfortable using this programme as at home I have the CS3 version, I
already enjoy editing images so from the start I know what I wanted, I also
took into account what my fellow group members wanted as well. With my
production logo ‘Valkyrie Pictures’ I wanted a basic yet easily
rememberable logo. So as it had the word ‘Valkyrie’ in it why not use
Valkyrie wings from Norse mythology. I did learn however more to do with
aspect ratio’s and getting the size right for our final piece.
