This document discusses the process of making a movie product using various digital skills and technologies. It describes using Cinema 4D to create an opening logo, After Effects for title animations, and Premiere Pro for editing footage, audio, and assembling the final product. Filming equipment included a Sony Handycam and camera dolly. Planning involved storyboards, scripts, and location scouting. Mac computers were used for their software and performance. 2. INTRODUCTION
For our movie product we used a wide range of technologies to make our work look
professional and be visually pleasing to the audience.
The 5 main areas of digital skills are:
• Software
• Filming
• Research/planning
• Use of the Mac
• Evaluation

3. SOFTWARE
For my movie we used 3 main types of software to construct our final
piece, these include:
• Cinema 4D
• After Effects
• Adobe Premiere Pro
Cinema 4D
We used Cinema 4D to produce the moving production logo at the start of
the movie. Using our prior knowledge of the software, we produced the cogs
that were able to move and made the colours bold so when the added effect
of turning it black and white was added, it created different shades of grey
and made it more interesting to view.

4. SOFTWARE
After Effects
We used After Effects to create the title “Truth.” As we were new to this
software we decided to watch a YouTube video to learn how to
create the typewriter effect.
Adobe Premiere Pro
This was the main software we used to construct our movie. Here we
learnt about editing and how to render the footage after we had
shortened clips/ cut clips/ arranged the footage into a logical order
etc. We also used this software to edit the audio which includes the
voice over as well as other sounds such as the music used in the
movie. The music had to be turned down/ up at certain points and
this was done by shifting the volume of the audio to match the
movements of the characters.

5. FILMING
We used several pieces of equipment to film the footage needed for our
film as well as to record the audio.
We used a Sony Handycam which gave us clear images to use and was
small and compact meaning we were able to move it around the
location without difficulty.
We also used a camera dolly to enable use to move the camera in a
fluid motion especially when we did a tracking shot.
With the dolly we also used a tripod which was useful when it came to
keeping the camera still for close ups of Roseanne’s eye and the
letter.
We were able to use the music departments recording studio to record
the voiceover used in our movie. As we had this available to use, the
recording sounds very professional without any background noise
which can occur with a handheld voice recorder.

6. RESEARCH AND PLANNING
My research and planning for my movie is done throughout several weeks and
include a variety of methods of presentation.
This includes:
• Mind maps of our original ideas
• Storyboards of the movie
• Pitch
• The script
• Location recce
• Filming day schedules
• Feedback from the 1st cut of the movie.

7. USE OF THE MACS
Mac computers are often used in the creative industry because
they have large screens that make it easy to look at
everything. They look very stylish and modern and are able to
run quite fast which is useful because it means we were able
to get our project done without much hassle. Macs have a
wide variety of software readily available to use such as
Adobe premiere pro and After effects. It was a suitable choice
to use the Macs because of these pros and it has hardly any
cons when it comes to constructing our movie.

8. EVALUATION
I have presented my evaluation on Blogger (BlogSpot) along with my planning
and research for my movie. It has helped me clearly organize my work and
lay it out in a neat order. All my work is clear to read and follow.
I have also shown my evaluation with PowerPoint which is a creative way of presenting
my evaluation.

9. CONCLUSION
To conclude I have learnt a lot about the different technologies used to
make a movie including using new software on the mac to edit my
movie into its final form and using new equipment such as the
camera and dolly to film the footage needed. I have also learnt how
to use a recording studio to record a voiceover for a movie. I found
the easiest thing to do was film the footage because I’ve used a
camera before (but not to make a movie) and so I was familiar with
how to work it. The hardest thing to do was using Premiere Pro to
edit my movie as I’ve never used it before. I managed to contribute
to the editing stages by editing the scenes with the eye and letter
using a snipping tool to shorten clips and then dragging them into
place so they’d follow each other in a quick pace.
