Your immune system is your number one defense mechanism against intruders such as bacteria or viruses that can make you very ill. It is imperative to make sure that you stay healthy throughout the year and put all the chances on your side to boost your immune system. To do so, here are five steps to help you avoid being sick with a cold or flu.
Every living being either human or animal needs food for survival. It is very essential for
all to have proper diet, as it helps in growth of an individual. Thus, food can be defined as any
substance, may be plant origin or animal origin that is consumed by all to satisfy the nutritional
needs of the body. There are many types of food, which are a good source of different essential
nutrients such as fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins, minerals, etc. It is consumed by all to
gain energy so that they can grow and maintain the life. Further, it also helps in repairing the
wounds of the body. Energy and nutrition contents of the food depend on the kind of food one
consumes, thus, efficiency of the body depends on the type of food consumed by a living being.
This present research study will focus on the importance of food in one’s life. It will assess why
it is must for a living being to intake different kind of food items. Moreover, it will also highlight
how mal-nutritious diet can affect the health and will draw light on the consequences of poor
diet. The last section of the report will conclude the topic.
The human body is like an engine and in order to run smoothly it has
to be fuelled, and the choice of “fuel” would then dictate the way the
engine performances. Get all the info you need about healthy
nutrition here.

Weight reduction eventually returns to the idea of calories in, calories out: Eat short of what you consume and you'll get in shape. And keeping in mind that it's conceivable to lose water weight rapidly on a low-carb diet, I surely wouldn't advocate for it. The eating routine itself can fool you into imagining that this eating style is working — when truly, you may restore what you lost when you eat carbs once more. That can feel inconceivably discouraging in the event that you need results that last more than seven days.
This powerpoint presentation is on healthy weight management.
It consists of 3 factors--Psychological aspects of weight loss, the \'skinny\' on diet, and the role exercise plays in a weight management program.
This Is NOT just a big book of smoothie recipes. You're getting the same proven 3-Week weight loss and health improvement program I share with my private clients. The secret that makes the Smoothie Diet so effective is the Custom 3-Week Weight Loss Schedule. All the smoothies are given in a very specific sequence and frequency to maximize your results. For example the nutrient and ingredient ratios vary week to week to make sure the weight keeps coming off and stays off.
The term eating habits (or food habits ) refers to why and how people eat, which foods they eat, and with whom they eat, as well as the ways people obtain, store, use, and discard food. Individual, social, cultural, religious, economic, environmental, and political factors all influence people's eating habits.

Acute scrotum is a general term referring to an emergency condition affecting the contents or the wall of the scrotum.
There are a number of conditions that present acutely, predominantly with pain and/or swelling
A careful and detailed history and examination, and in some cases, investigations allow differentiation between these diagnoses. A prompt diagnosis is essential as the patient may require urgent surgical intervention
Testicular torsion refers to twisting of the spermatic cord, causing ischaemia of the testicle.
Testicular torsion results from inadequate fixation of the testis to the tunica vaginalis producing ischemia from reduced arterial inflow and venous outflow obstruction.
The prevalence of testicular torsion in adult patients hospitalized with acute scrotal pain is approximately 25 to 50 percent

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.
Lung Cancer: Artificial Intelligence, Synergetics, Complex System Analysis, S...Oleg Kshivets
RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.

Qualifications:
MBBS (Best Graduate, AIMC Lahore)
FCPS Physiology
ICMT, CHPE, DHPE (STMU)
MPH (GC University, Faisalabad)
MBA (Virtual University of Pakistan)
Learning Objectives:
Describe the structure and function of taste buds.
Describe the relationship between the taste threshold and taste index of common substances.
Explain the chemical basis and signal transduction of taste perception for each type of primary taste sensation.
Recognize different abnormalities of taste perception and their causes.
Key Topics:
Significance of Taste Sensation:
Differentiation between pleasant and harmful food
Influence on behavior
Selection of food based on metabolic needs
Receptors of Taste:
Taste buds on the tongue
Influence of sense of smell, texture of food, and pain stimulation (e.g., by pepper)
Primary and Secondary Taste Sensations:
Primary taste sensations: Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter, Umami
Chemical basis and signal transduction mechanisms for each taste
Taste Threshold and Index:
Taste threshold values for Sweet (sucrose), Salty (NaCl), Sour (HCl), and Bitter (Quinine)
Taste index relationship: Inversely proportional to taste threshold
Taste Blindness:
Inability to taste certain substances, particularly thiourea compounds
Example: Phenylthiocarbamide
Structure and Function of Taste Buds:
Composition: Epithelial cells, Sustentacular/Supporting cells, Taste cells, Basal cells
Features: Taste pores, Taste hairs/microvilli, and Taste nerve fibers
Location of Taste Buds:
Found in papillae of the tongue (Fungiform, Circumvallate, Foliate)
Also present on the palate, tonsillar pillars, epiglottis, and proximal esophagus
Mechanism of Taste Stimulation:
Interaction of taste substances with receptors on microvilli

2. Losing weight in two weeks is possible.
You can determine how much weight you
would like to lose in a week.
Take control of your health to lose weight fast.
3. You can maintain a healthy and lean body
following your weight loss just by feeding on
healthy foods.
Remember your body requires important
nutrients from the food you eat. Your body
uses those nutrients for proper functioning.
4. Unfortunately, most common foods provide
zero to little nutrients. In other words, your
food is a stranger to your body.
5. What do you think happens
when you feed low-dense
nutrients food?
6. You body will not recognize what you give it
and it will fight it off.
You have no idea just how bad the modern
food is. It is terrible.
Modern food is just so bad from the way it is
produced, manufactured and preserved.
7. Losing weight is much more than just
dropping the pounds.
It is all about the freedom.
The feeling you get when you are slim is
incredible.
8. Overweight and obesity has been linked to
cause many health problems like:
Diabetes
Insulin resistance
Liver damage
Heart disease
9. Best foods for weight loss
I believe 80 percent of your weight loss efforts
should be geared towards the kind of foods
you eat.
Modern foods are junk foods.
There are different species of edible plants.
But we consume very few of those species
every day.
11. Eat plenty of high-quality
proteins
Contrarily to the common myth, protein is the
king of weight loss.
The biggest reason is that protein is not stored
as fat in your body
Some proteins are 100% digested by your
body.
12. Remember I always refer to protein from
organic sources and not processed products.
One study on obese women found that protein
contributed to their weight loss.
13. Protein makes you feel full and therefore
reduce your hunger making you not crave for
junk foods.
14. Best sources of protein that will
make you lose weight in 2 weeks
include:
15. Beef from cattle reared in their natural habitat
and feeding on their natural diet of grass and
forage.
Whole eggs including yolks from chickens
allowed to roam outdoors and fed their natural
diet.
Wild-caught salmon fish.
16. Eat vegetables to lose weight
fast
Vegetables contain vitamins, minerals and
other important nutrients that are essential for
your body.
17. Vegetables provide good source of
carbohydrates.
You were supposed to get carbohydrates
from vegetables and not grains.
18. This is because vegetables are low in carbs
and do not raise blood sugar like grains do.
19. Studies have shown that vegetables reduce
insulin resistance.
Insulin resistance has been linked to obesity
and other chronic diseases.
20. Some of the best vegetables to
lose weight include:
Broccoli
Avocados
Asparagus
Kale
Spinach
Cucumber
Tomatoes
Onions
Garlic
Cabbages
Cauliflower
Zucchini
21. Eat healthy fat to lose weight
fast
We have been made to believe fat is not good.
We have been told eating fat makes you fat.
Contrary to the common myth, fat does not
make you fat.
22. Instead, your body was designed to run on fat.
Looking at the communities who don’t have
weight and health problems, it is clearly found
that they include a lot of fat in their diet.
23. Fat contain important nutrients that have been
shown to reduce weight and improve weight
maintenance.
24. Ironically, the food pyramid tells us to
drastically reduce fat from our diet.
Fat is the perfect fuel for your body.
25. Remember, the “heart-healthy” vegetable oils
are not healthy fats.
Vegetables oils distort your omega-6 to
omega-3 ratio.
This imbalance causes inflammation.
26. Studies have shown that inflammation is the
leading cause of obesity, overweight and other
chronic diseases.
27. Some of the best fats you can eat to lose
weight in 2 weeks are:
Avocados
Coconut oil
Olive oil
Dairy products from animals raised in their natural
habitat and fed their natural diet
28. One of the best ways to eat to lose weight in 2
weeks is by cooking your own food.
Plan your meal ahead and include the above
essential foods in your diet to lose weight fast.
And avoid the “health foods” mentioned in
the next slide.
29. Learn about “health foods” that destroy your
cells, stops you from losing that stubborn,
unwanted fat in your body.
