This document provides instructions and guidance for students on completing blogging assignments for a course. It includes directions on setting up audio tools, checking emails daily, reading other student blogs, correctly naming blog posts, and uploading assignments by certain deadlines. Students are asked to reflect on concepts like 21st century classrooms and pedagogical theories, and apply them to create their own approaches to teaching and learning. Guidance is given on assessing students' first blog posts and how to upload them for grading.

2.  Please check your emails every day.
 Don’t get left behind.
 Read other student blogs to get an idea of
content and length.
 Comment on some posts.
 Your blog post needs to be named correctly:
 Reflection 1, week 2.
 Please upload a word doc by the end of this
week so it can be marked = 8% of your final
grade.

3.  We are going to examine some important
concepts that underpin 21st century
classrooms.
 The use of theory to support teaching and
learning decisions is very important in
present day schools. We will examine a
couple.
 Mobile phone wiki activity will ask you to
think about teacher choices.

4.  Reflect on your understanding of good
pedagogy. Draw from the ideas presented
next to create your own pedagogical
approach. Based on your own learning
experience and what you already know about
teaching and learning. You may wish to
represent this as an image, a concept map, a
video, a table, or text. You may even wish to
compose a song. Embed or upload this to
your blog and share your ideas with others.

6.  These models contribute to your developing
beliefs about teaching.
 These models will influence your developing
pedagogy.

8.  This is an example of trying to structure and
scaffold higher order thinking skills.
 The 6 thinking hats is just one technique for
doing this.
 Your blog this week needs to include a
summary of your thoughts around this
activity.

11.  It doesn’t matter what part of the school
system you work in many ideas in this area
can be applied.
 Let’s brainstorm some ideas on the
whiteboard.
 Approach it from your intended teaching
area.

13.  This is your first blog to be assessed and
contribute to your course final grade.
 How will I upload my assessment?
 Look for the Reflection 1, week 2 tab on the
moodle menu and open the link.
 Upload a word document with your name,
student number and the blue url (address) for
your blog. It must be an active hyperlink eg.
