Key Life Events
In James 4:14 (NIV) God says What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and
vanishes . Even as a 28 year old I can see the reality of these words. My life is short, and it is
important to make the years I have on earth count. In order to make sure I am spending my time on
earth wisely, it can be beneficial to reflect on past events from my life. In this essay I will discuss
some positive events from my timeline, key transitions that changed my life in a positive way,
negative events in my life, and key transitions that changed my life in a negative way, and finally I
will discuss what I discovered about myself through this mapping exercise. In addition I will also
explain how I feel, and give a short summary of my life. The most positive events in my life line map
include my time during the period of going to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Discussing this subject is like peeling back old wounds. They may be healed, but they will always be
there. It is not something that can be undone, but I can use this event as an opportunity to learn, grow
and motivation to change for the future. After rehashing this subject, it is extra motivation for me to
stay committed in my own marriage, and do whatever is necessary to make my marriage strong. I also
discovered how much a perspective can change with enough time. Like I mentioned previously
moving out of my mom s place did not seem like a positive event at the time, but looking back I
realize just what a pivotal step that was. I would have never received the blessings and the good that
came out of that negative situation. I also realized that my timeline is continual and that there will be
future events on my timeline which seem negative at the time. It might take some time and patience to
see the good that God can make out of a tough

Transcendentalism, By Ralph Waldo Emerson
Re striking the Balance
In a constantly updating world, eventually cultural diffusion causes changes to a society s views and
practices over a period of time. With many religious pressures in Europe and the constant switch
between Catholicism and Protestantism, a group called the Puritans moved to America to start life
anew. The Puritan lifestyle took hold of America s New England colonies and became a theocracy of
how people lived their lives. People lived by the Puritan interpretation of the New Testament with
harsh forms of punishment for the violation of even the most simple sins. Because of this restricting
lifestyle and new ideas like the Enlightenment which caused intellectual reforms, people started to
break away from the extreme Puritan philosophy. Another movement occurring in America called
Transcendentalism, on the other side of the spectrum of Puritanism, started with writer Ralph Waldo
Emerson, specifically with his essay Nature . Emerson depicts the prime example of the breaking
away from strict religion to Transcendentalism. In America, Emerson was a priest who had been
ridiculed and had traveled to Europe to find himself. After meeting up with writers of the
Romanticism movement, he fell in love with it and brought it back to America under the name of
Transcendentalism. Puritanism and Transcendentalism have opposing philosophies which include their
view on people, philosophy and God , and on nature through essays and texts by: William Bradford,

Plato Homosexual Love Essay
deal with concepts of homosexual love. Sappho, the only ancient Greek female author whose work
survived, talks from the female point of observation, whereas Plato s work concentrates on the idea of
love among males. Though both of their perspectives are similar in ways such as their ideas of
physical attraction and desire, Plato s work creates a better understanding of the nature of love then
Sappho s ideas. This understanding will be shown with three arguments and counter arguments in
order to demonstrate the dominance of Plato over Sappho. It will than be concluded with an overview
of the main idea and a recap of the three arguments made for Plato.
In the symposium, Pausanias (Greek geographer) conveys the second part which talks about a few of
the societal standards representing gay (homoerotic) relationships. The way that a companion (an
older man) and his lover ( a younger man) may act towards each other is largely based on society s
ethical code. It is shown that the tradition of this relationship is pursuer to the pursued; the older man
takes the initiative in the relationship and is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plato s work can be summarized by that the goal is essentially intellectual satisfaction, while Sappho s
objectives are directly linked with physical beauty and desire for physical attraction. Plato s work
provides a better understanding of love because the homoerotic relationship between an older man and
younger man creates positivity because it expands the virtue in the older man and the wisdom in the
younger man. Secondly, Pausanias shows the moral aspects are important within homoerotic love
because they are a guide to the right and wrong ways to satisfy desire. Lastly, when you find you re
other half, in turn you are finding yourself which is an amazing achievement. Therefore, Plato s
Symposium best explains the nature of

James Fenimore Cooper s Impact On American Literature
James Fenimore Cooper had a very interesting life, molded American literature, and influenced many
popular authors, such as Herman Melville, Richard Henry Dana, Jr., Francis Parkman, and even Mark
Twain, through his literary offenses. (1) The experiences Cooper had throughout his life shaped his
rogue character and literary style. The evidence of Cooper s impact to American literature is well
documented.
James Fenimore Cooper was born on September 15, 1789 in Burlington, New Jersey to William
Cooper and Elizabeth Fenimore. James was the last of twelve children; only seven survived
childhood: Richard, Hannah, Isaac, Ann, William and Samuel. Within the first year of James birth, he
moved from New Jersey to the source of the Susquehanna ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the age of 12, William Cooper resolved to send James to a Latin based boarding school run by
Reverend Thomas Ellison. James closest companion in boarding school was William Jay, the second
son of governor John Jay. They used to adventure around New York, especially in the excavated plot
of land which Saint Peter s Church would be built on, with other boys who would later become
business for the state. This foreshadowed James trickster attitude. By the age of thirteen, James
entered Yale College.
Some evidence to the claims of James rogue character surface during his time at Yale. Simply stated:
Cooper was a prankster. It is reported that he put a donkey in a teacher s classroom, and many other
tricks. James never got into large trouble until his biggest prank: he blew up another student s dorm
door with gunpowder. By the age of 16, James Fenimore Cooper was expelled from Yale College.
Shortly after James left Yale, he enrolled in the Navy. There is little to no information about this time
of his life other than it being a basis for his first book: Afloat and Ashore: A Sea Tale. On December
22, 1809, his father, William Cooper died from a blow to the back of the head delivered by a political
opponent; this was a devastating episode as James was at sea when his father passed. Shortly after,
James met Susan DeLancey, whom he married on on January 1, 1811. The DeLanceys were a wealthy

reach out to local communities? The NGOs running the program on behalf of Coca Cola do most of
the interaction with the local communities and it utilized its NGOs to learn about their specific needs
and target assistance where it was most needed. It does not reach out the local communities it self and
primarily focused on the outputs of the programming, such as the number of communities students
served and it measures whether the NGO partner meets the timeline, budget targets and amount spent
per beneficiary reached. The risk is there that Coca Cola might not be having the true information as it
is using NGOs as middle man. The true needs might be ignored and not properly addressed by the
NGOs. 6. What can Coca Cola do to improve its community programming? Coca has developed a
comprehensive CSR community programming which covers education, health care and the
environment projects. However, in Vietnam a key stakeholder, employee volunteer component, is
missing which is important for the improvement of community programming. Further, Coca Cola is

Allegorical Garden of Eden in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
Green helmet. Green body. Green blood. Such descriptions refer to a central character in Sir Gawain
and the Green Knight they depict the appearance of Bercilak as the Green Knight. The use of green is
a reflection of Garden of Eden imagery in the poem that portrays the Green Knight as a tempter, a
serpent, in the garden, Arthur s court. In Genesis account of Eden, Adam and Eve live in a perfect,
pure garden until the evil, green serpent successfully tempts them. When the serpent tells Eve that
consuming fruit from the forbidden tree the one God warned them not to eat from will result in the
same knowledge God holds, Eve convinces Adam to eat the apple. According to ... Show more content

During this feast, the knights and their guests eat lavishly and drink in excess they have all the meat
and mirth that one could devise (45) and celebrate In peerless pleasures . . . (50). The feast depicts a
worldly paradise with knights who act as they desire, as Adam and Eve were allowed to in Genesis.
However, Gawain s garden in not without sin.
The existence of sin is evident in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. The sin in Gawain s garden
results from chivalry. The code of knighthood Gawain and other knights follow includes courage and
loyalty to one s lord. This courage and loyalty carries with it a sense of pride for the knights, pride that
causes them to sin. Thus, Gawain fails to follow a life of purity, for as he follows the code of
knighthood, he participates in Christian sin murder, drunkenness, pride. For instance, when the Green
Knight gives an offer to Arthur s court to play the beheading game, he initially receives no volunteers.
However, as Arthur attempts to participate, Gawain steps up and takes his place, for it is his role to be
loyal and fight for his lord. This is evident when he states, My body, but for your [Arthur] blood, is
barren of worth; / And for that this folly befits not a king, / And tis that I have asked it, it ought to be
mine ( 357 359). This, then, leads him to sin, to chop off another man s head.
Sin is evident even before the Green Knight s entrance the knights succumb to physical pleasures

Teachers Students And The Learning Environment
Teachers conducting action research in there class Action research is a means through which an
educator stays informed of the on going trends in education with specific interest in individual content
areas or classroom management techniques. Teachers need to understand these trends to better serve
the students. By participating in these research activities, teachers embrace change in pedagogical
strategies and learn how to best understand their students and the learning environment. These in turn
opens avenues for differentiated instruction. Differentiated instruction is a teaching strategy that varies
teaching techniques depending on individual student needs to meet the student at their points of need.
Meeting students at their points of need and teaching them required content based using the most
appropriate method should be the sole purpose for every educator. Therefore, teachers should conduct
action research in their own classrooms to be better educators. Action research in classrooms can also
yield new teaching and testing strategies. Action research project Problem statement, An action

Chemical Warfare in World War I Essay

Mr. Zastrow
Chemical Warfare During World War 1 The first World War has been reported to be one of the most
brutal wars in the history of time for many reasons. One of those reasons was strategic usage of
chemical warfare. Chemical gas was used on both sides of the line, which turned out to be fatal for
many. World War I was mostly fought in the trenches, where soldiers lived in deep, v shaped holes or
underground bunkers. Both sides would occupy these trenches in order to escape from the constant
stream of bullets. These battles often ended in a standoff, or tie, which helped the introduction of a
different, brand new style of fighting that included the use of chemicals. These chemicals had a range

This gas may cause temporary blindness and inflammation of the nose and throat of the victim. A gas
mask would easily offer good protection against this gas. This chemical and any chemical with
bromide were quite popular during World War I since it was easily brewed. Asphyxiates are the
poisonous gases which include chlorine, phosgene, and diphosgene. Chlorine inflicts damage by
forming hydrochloric acid when it comes in contact with moisture such as what is found in the lungs
and eyes. It is lethal at a ratio of 1:5000 (gas/air), whereas phosgene is deadly at 1:10,000 (gas/air)
twice as toxic! Diphosgene, first used by the Germans at Verdun on 22 June, 1916, was deadlier still
and could not be effectively filtered by standard issue gas masks. Blistering Agents, like mustard gas,
were seen as the most dreadful of all chemical weapons in World War I. Unlike the other gases which
attacked the respiratory system, this gas acts on any exposed, moist skin, which makes it extremely
dangerous. This includes, but is not limited to, the eyes, lungs, armpits and groin. Obviously, a gas
mask that covered one s face could offer very little to no protection whatsoever. The oily reacting
agent would produce large burn like blisters wherever it came in contact with skin. It also had a way
of hanging around in low areas for hours, even days, after being

The Hurt Locker By Kathryn Bigelow
In classical Hollywood cinema, style, space, and time are unified and uninterrupted. These elements
come together to match the viewer s sense of time and space in reality. This is achieved through the
use of many techniques such as the 180 degree rule, point of view shots, a lack of jump cuts, and other
unobtrusive filmmaking techniques. Using these techniques allow the audience to associate with the
main characters in the film. For example, the use of point of view shots allow the viewer to see the
action from the characters perspectives giving the audience a sense of connection with the actors.
Similarly, obeying the 180 degree rule allows films to have continuity in which there is no disruption
in the viewers sense of location or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The camera moves in a hand held documentary style which allows the characters and the action to
enter in and out of the frame. The editing also achieves a fast paced documentary style. For example,
the opening sequence reflects this editing with lots of faced paced, sometimes random jump cuts. The
editing in this scene as well as the rest of the movie reflects much of the chaos that is occurring.
However, in the opening sequence Bigelow slows things down by using a camera that shoots at 58,000
frames per second. She uses this camera to capture the first bomb s blast radius and deadly impact.
Juxtaposing this extreme slow mo sequence with the fast paced cuts that happened just before causes a
distortion of time for the viewer. After seeing such rapid editing, the audience is momentarily forced
to really absorb the force of the explosion. The detailed shots of rocks lifting from the ground and rust
separating from a car s frame provide a contrast with the rest of the film. The rest of the film maintains
a documentary style, meanwhile utilizing the geography of the setting to convey a sense of uncertainty
in the audience. The surroundings are conveyed not only through very tight shots, but also through
very wide ones. In a discussion with David Pendleton, Bigelow said of the film, ...it s a geographic
centric piece because the audience as well as the bomb tech needs to know where you are in relation to
the IED at all times, and that s what kind of

September 30, 2014 The Meaning behind Jokes. Some researcher say that laughter is the best
medicine a human can get. There are many different ways to get a good laugh. Whether it s from
seeing a funny movie, watching funny videos on the internet, or telling jokes with your friends.
Personally, my favorite way to get a quick laugh is to exchange funny jokes between my friends.
Some of the best jokes are the ones that might come off a little racist if said to the wrong person. It is
the racism that makes many of these jokes funny. For instance; many polish jokes can easily be

Therefore, this suggest that racist humor is the same thing as a put down. Many people laugh at these
because put downs are funny, even when the put down is directed at them, mainly because they realize
that the tendency of it is relative harmless. Most people find it to be a great stress reliever when they
join others in a good laugh about oneself. A philosopher by the name of Michael Philips would agree
with the point stated above. He would say that not all the jokes that are directed towards a certain
ethnic group are racist. That we need to be able to distinguish the humor that is morally
unobjectionable and the humor that is not. (Philips) It all depends who the audience is during the
telling of a joke. Some people might think that the joke that is being presented is racist, while
someone else might find it funny and not racist at all. What I m trying to say is that it all

Philosophy Course Required For Ib Diploma Program

Theory of Knowledge, a philosophy course required for the IB Diploma program, is the most
challenging class I have ever taken. Throughout the course, we explored in depth of all the ways of
knowing and areas of knowledge. This class made me think about the knowledge that I know in my
life and how I came to know about these knowledge. For instance, I questioned how I was able to
obtain knowledge from every events that had happened in my life. I also questioned if it is necessary
to use more than one ways of knowing in order to gain knowledge towards my moral principles. I do
not know if I always use more than one way of knowing in order to gain knowledge in my personal
life. This title is interesting to me because I have always wonder if we need more than one way of
knowing in order to gain knowledge? Obviously, history can be defined simply as the study of the
past. Many people had questioned whether history is the study of all the past or rather a study of
events that have been deemed important by historians. This made me wonder how historians use the
ways of knowing in order to know what are important in history. Do they use their emotion,
perception, reason, and language in order to reach a conclusion of something that happened in the
past? For example, this

The Career As A Medical Doctor And A Guerilla Fighter
Howe graduated from Harvard thereafter he joined the Greek Revolutionist as a medical doctor and a
guerilla fighter (Kleege, 2002). After the war Howe was offered the opportunity to open a New
England asylum for the Blind in Boston (Wittenstein, 2013), which later became the Perkins School
for the Blind (Hatlen, 2000). With no background in education, Samuel G. Howe began his career as
an educator of the blind, including people who were deaf/blind, in 1829 (Ajuwon Oyinlade, 2008;
Kleege, 2002). Howe based his school, the Perkins School for the Blind, on the European models of
schools for the Blind (Ajuwon Oyinlade, 2008; Hatlen, 2000). However, he only picked the most
suitable methods that he thought would be able to benefit his students the most (Kleege, 2002). He did
not only educate the students who were blind. Laura Bridgman was Howe s first deaf/blind student.
She is also known as his first miracle (Smith Anton, 1997). One of Howe s first contribution to the
field of visual impairments, was his efforts to teach blind veterans, adults and enslaved people, who
did not have access to schools where blind children were taught while still in the military (Wittenstein,
2013). Further, his encouragement to other states in the U.S. to start their own schools for the visually
impaired was another contribution to the field of education of the visually impaired (Wittenstein,
2013). Further, he was seen as a leader in the field of education of blind and deaf/blind

With the advent of the Internet, e commerce exploded, and in 2003, the estimated value of online sales

problems concerning taxes. Because of the global nature of the World Wide Web, and more than
30,000 tax jurisdictions in the United States (US), (Internet Taxation) it is easy to see the

Some of the issues with this type of tax are whether it should be per use, per month or per year.
Another issue involved with this tax is how it would be implemented and whether there would be
extra fees related to the type of connection. For example, would the fee be changed based on a DSL
vs. a regular modem connection? (Internet Taxation). The second type of tax involves intangible goods
or downloads such as: emails, software, music etcetera. Obviously, this tax would involve all those
that access this type of material. The administration of such a tax again poses a problem, for example,
how should international emails be handled or an international user who download software from an
American company web site. The final type of tax that could be levied is a sales tax. Although it
would only affect those who purchase items on line, it would have potential to be an enormous source
of revenue. Currently, the sales tax is the largest revenue source for federal, state and local
governments. (Internet Taxation) In 2003, online retail was estimated at 68.4 (epaynews) billion
dollars, all of which would be taxable and would increase the federal state and local tax revenues.
Again, administration and division of revenue cause a problem, but there is also the problem of
classification of the product. This is a problem because it is only subject to sales tax if it is classified
as a good. As seen, there are many different types of Internet taxation to be

means that beauty is determined by each person individually. Disapproval of oneself and of a couple
can be hard to overcome. Ovid s, Pyramus and Thisbe highlights the theme of forbidden love. Their
fathers are opposed to them being together so they decide to run away to be together. The myth says,
This time, after/ sighing/ their tale of woe, they made a decision: when all was quiet/ that night, they

Pyramus and Thisbe could be together, so that s what they did. Being together was more important to
them than anything else. Although their fathers disapproved them being together they didn t care, their
love for eachother was so strong that no barrier could ever stop them from loving each other. In the

A Randomized Control Trial, Usher, Alcock, And Petra
In a randomized control trial by Smith, Usher, Alcock, and Petra (2013), the researchers aim to
determine whether the use of NeoWrap, a polyethylene occlusive wrap, immediately after birth was
more effective than standard protocol to control hypothermia in NICU admissions. Participants consist
of 92 infants under 27 weeks of gestation and 44 infants less than 30 weeks gestation. The infants are
randomly assigned to be in either the control or the intervention group; the control group is transferred
under the prewarmed heater immediately after birth, dried and wrapped with prewarmed towels, and
applied a hat. The intervention group is wrapped from the neck the down with the polyethylene wrap
before being transferred to the prewarmed heater and undergoing the aforementioned process. World
Health Organization s definition for hypothermia, as cited by Smith et al. (2013), is a temperature of
less than 36.5 degrees Celsius. This parameter was used by the researchers, and the temperatures of
the infants were taken upon birth and upon NICU admissions as well as admission time for both the
control and intervention groups. The temperature was taken axillary on the infant at birth, upon
admission to the NICU and every 30 minutes using a digital thermometer until the infant reached 120
minutes postadmission. The results showed that although the usage of wrap increased the temperature
in neonates less than 27 weeks old, no statistically significant difference on neonates 27 to 29

Indian Polity and Social Issue
Polity, Constitution and Social Issues
Polity Constitution
Constitution of India is the supreme law of India. It lays down the framework defining fundamental
political principles, establishing the structure, procedures, powers and duties, of the government and

The Mission discussed the framework of the constitution and laid down in some detail the procedure
to be followed by the constitution drafting body. Elections for the 296 seats assigned to the British
Indian provinces were completed by August 1946. The Constituent Assembly first met and began
work on 9 December 1946.
(Indian Independence Act 1947): The Indian Independence Act, which came into force on 18 July
1947, divided the British Indian territory into two new states of India and Pakistan, which were to be
dominions under the Commonwealth of Nations until their constitutions were in effect. The
Constituent Assembly was divided into two for the separate states.
The Act relieved the British Parliament of any further rights or obligations towards India or Pakistan,
and granted sovereignty over the lands to the respective Constituent Assemblies. When the
Constitution of India came into force on 26 January 1950, it overturned the Indian Independence Act.
India ceased to be a dominion of the British Crown and became a sovereign democratic republic.

The Monkey s Paw And The Keys Of Destiny Analysis
In both stories The Monkey s Paw and The Keys of Destiny they prove that money isn t the source of
happiness. Even though they have the same theme the two authors get this theme across in two
completely different ways. With the story The Monkey s Paw the author uses the death of Herbert (the
son of one of main character) to reveal the theme, while in The Keys of Destiny the author uses the
keys of destiny to get the same effect. The main reason that the themes are presented differently is
because of the craft moves that are being used. For example, in The Monkey s Paw the author W.W.
Jacobs used revealing actions and in The Keys of Destiny the author Neil Philip uses symbolism.
The main factor in the different ways that the two authors got the theme across was the craft moves. In
The Monkey s Paw W.W. Jacobs uses revealing actions to get the main theme across. In the story one
of Mr. White s friends tried to throw out a mummified paw of a monkey because he claims it was
cursed. Disregarding that it was cursed and can cause consequences if he uses it he asks for money
which he would regret later in the story. W.W Jacobs shows this when he writes, I wish for two
hundred pounds, said the old man distinctly. (1.5) this quote is just the first action of where he wishes
for the money the revealing part comes later when the Whites obtains the money. The revealing action
is when the Whites hear about the death of their son that goes back to their wish for money,

Martin Luther s Ninety-Five Theses
October 31, 1517, the day before the Feast of All Saints, the 33 year old, Luther had posted the Ninety
five Theses on the doors of the castle church in Wittenberg (Christian History, Gritsch). Luther tried to
expose the fraud of the Catholic Church. They were selling certificates, which made Luther did not
approve to stop selling certificates for forgiveness and made the Ninety five Theses. The Ninety five
Theses impacted the relationship people had with their government, church, and education. To
understand how the Ninety five Theses was made and what it is used for, it is important to know why
it was created. Martin Luther was a German monk, Catholic priest and professor of theology. Luther

One, free inquiry, democracy, and limited government. For free inquiry, Luther wanted Christians and
even other religions to believe in the truth and that they weren t given the freedom of speech. To take
the iconic example: slavery, which for centuries Christians had assumed was a necessary evil or
simply a fact of life. A few Protestants in the 1700s and many more in 1800s reached a new
conviction: that slavery was an absolute and intolerable evil. The arguments and battles were bitter,
but in the end the old orthodoxy was overthrown. Censorship was worn down by Protestants refusal to
shut up when told to, and by their bare knuckles style of public argument (CNN, Ryrie). New natural
sciences between the 16th and 17th centuries were moved by the protestants colleges and scholars.
They want put out that freedom of speech and of worship were actually good things, not just
unavoidable necessities to be tolerated (CNN, Ryrie). In democracy, Luther wanted to be the lead of
democracy. Protestants wanted good social and order of monarchy. They wanted to be able to have
their voices and freedom of speech and be able to do things in their own hands. If we all stand equal
before God, it is hard not to conclude that we should all have a voice before this world s rulers (CNN,
Ryrie). Thirdly, limited government, Protestants have wanted and done taken over the government.

Indi An Emerging Economy And A Beacon Of High Tech Modernity
World s largest democracy, an emerging economy and on the race to become a regional/global
superpower: India has come a long way in the past few decades. Despite the evident threats of
bankruptcy, caste politics and Hindu Nationalism, India is a great example of unity in diversity and a
beacon of high tech modernity . (Corbridge et al, 2013). However, it can be said that India is stuck
between a prodigious need for cultural renaissance and the banes of class politics. (Pradhan et al,
2105: 12). The caste system in India is intricately correlated to class stratification and this is of
immense political value in India as class and caste differences shape the politics in India till a great
extent. In this essay, I will begin by talking about the association between class and caste, as this is an
important aspect in order to understand how these issues shape the politics of India. Further on, I will
talk about the gradual emergence of classes over the period of time and their influence on politics,
beginning with colonial period and concluding with the modern India. I will then attempt to display
the crucial role played by the classes during the 2014 elections. The essay will then discuss how the
Indian middle class contributes to shaping the politics of India. I will then go on to write about the
other classes and their influence over politics. To conclude, I will talk about how class is just one of
the innumerable other factors contributing to the politics in India. In

Foy Smith The Forgotten Commandment Analysis
New Testament Church Discipline Foy L. Smith s forward in the book The Forgotten Commandment
begins with the words, A lack of discipline is responsible for the chaos in which the world now finds
itself. (Smithson, pg. 2). Although this is a true statement it should be recognized first how important
it is to start the discipline in the home. If a family has its foundation in the Lord it is much more
difficult for those trying to infect or separate a congregation to do so. And you, fathers, do not provoke
your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).

kind of attitude or conduct warrants the extreme measure of church discipline? The answer, once
again, is found in the Bible: 1. A brother who has sinned against another, but who refuses to repent of
his transgression, could ultimately be dis fellowshipped (Matthew 18:15 17). 2. Those who cause
occasions of stumbling and who initiate division should be subject to church discipline (Romans

Improving The Health Care System
Working to continually improve the health care system there are three aims that are required and must
be implemented simultaneously. A triple aims that has an impact on the cost decisions in managed care
are; improvement of the experience of care; amending the health care system as it relates to
communities, and reducing per capita costs of health care. Appropriate integration of these three rolls
known as the triple aim are five components of evaluation: partnership between providers and those
receiving care, redesigning of the primary care system, expansion of the population health
management, identification of financial management, and integration of the macro system. Reaching a
system that provides quality care with a decrease in cost is technical by nature, but unfortunately
influenced politically. One of the goals in managed care in relation to the triple aim is the development
of care for individuals that will allow them to expand and thrive. In the aggregate, we call those goals
the Triple Aim : improving the individual experience of care; improving the health of populations; and
reducing the per capita costs of care for populations, (Berwick, Nolan, Wittington, 2008, p. 759). By
balancing this form of an advanced system the society would see a continual improve the cost impact
of managed care. The overall advancement of managed care in which there is a significant impact on
cost is of cultivating interest to health care leaders. In a continuum to improve

Clockwork Orange and the Age of Mechanical Reproduction
For Walter Benjamin, the defining characteristic of modernity was mass assembly and production of
commodities, concomitant with this transformation of production is the destruction of tradition and the
mode of experience which depends upon that tradition. While the destruction of tradition means the
destruction of authenticity, of the originally, in that it also collapses the distance between art and the

quot; The desire of the contemporary masses to bring things closer spatially and humanlyis just as
ardent as their bent toward overcoming the uniqueness of every reality by accepting its reproduction.
quot;
The fact of this desire for the reproduction over and above the original is precisely what Horkheimer
and Adorno believe is destroying culture, for contrary to Benjamin, Horkheimer and Adorno assert
that any emancipatory possibilities are re absorbed into capitalism, and fascism turns out to be the
midget in the Chess playing machine of capitalist oriented democracy. They set out, like Poe in his
article quot;Maelzel s chess player, quot; to show that capitalism has a hidden motor and it is none
other than fascism.
Benjamin s essay quot; The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction quot; provides us with
an outline of the history of the work of art and the historical changes, which have led to the
transformation of experience from Erfahrung to Erlebnis. It is only in the post modern or so called
post industrial age that the concept of autonomy handed down to us from Kant, among others, begins
to reveal it ideological nature. Benjamin s analysis of autonomous art not only destroys our notions of
the wholistic work, but also dispels the illusion of the artist as transcendental creator. Let us

numerous reasons why it is necessary for teens under the age of eighteen to drive. For instance, many
teens start their first job around the age of sixteen, which is also the minimum age required for a

couldn t have all of those companies. After that shut down in 1881 he tried again in 1899 but the same
outcome with the government (John Davison Rockefeller, 1995). The government played a huge role
in Rockefeller s career. He also was known for his monopoly over his businesses. Also he had a
thinking that everyone is wrong and he was always right ( The Men Who Built America,
John D. Rockefeller had to face many setbacks. He had some minor setbacks but he had plenty of
major setbacks. One of the minor setbacks was the government shutting down his business twice. But

Rockefeller made a huge footprint in the world. Just like the setbacks he made some minor and some
major footprints. One of the minor footprints was he was one of the most rich people of his time plus
he was also one of the only people to ever gain monopoly off of buying/shutting down other

large, windowless sheds without fresh air, sunlight or

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Discussing this subject is like peeling back old wounds. They may be healed, but they will always be there. It is not something that can be undone, but I can use this event as an opportunity to learn, grow and motivation to change for the future. After rehashing this subject, it is extra motivation for me to stay committed in my own marriage, and do whatever is necessary to make my marriage strong. I also discovered how much a perspective can change with enough time. Like I mentioned previously moving out of my mom s place did not seem like a positive event at the time, but looking back I realize just what a pivotal step that was. I would have never received the blessings and the good that came out of that negative situation. I also realized that my timeline is continual and that there will be future events on my timeline which seem negative at the time. It might take some time and patience to see the good that God can make out of a tough ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With many religious pressures in Europe and the constant switch between Catholicism and Protestantism, a group called the Puritans moved to America to start life anew. The Puritan lifestyle took hold of America s New England colonies and became a theocracy of how people lived their lives. People lived by the Puritan interpretation of the New Testament with harsh forms of punishment for the violation of even the most simple sins. Because of this restricting lifestyle and new ideas like the Enlightenment which caused intellectual reforms, people started to break away from the extreme Puritan philosophy. Another movement occurring in America called Transcendentalism, on the other side of the spectrum of Puritanism, started with writer Ralph Waldo Emerson, specifically with his essay Nature . Emerson depicts the prime example of the breaking away from strict religion to Transcendentalism. In America, Emerson was a priest who had been ridiculed and had traveled to Europe to find himself. After meeting up with writers of the Romanticism movement, he fell in love with it and brought it back to America under the name of Transcendentalism. Puritanism and Transcendentalism have opposing philosophies which include their view on people, philosophy and God , and on nature through essays and texts by: William Bradford, Anne ... Sappho, the only ancient Greek female author whose work survived, talks from the female point of observation, whereas Plato s work concentrates on the idea of love among males. Though both of their perspectives are similar in ways such as their ideas of physical attraction and desire, Plato s work creates a better understanding of the nature of love then Sappho s ideas. This understanding will be shown with three arguments and counter arguments in order to demonstrate the dominance of Plato over Sappho. It will than be concluded with an overview of the main idea and a recap of the three arguments made for Plato. In the symposium, Pausanias (Greek geographer) conveys the second part which talks about a few of the societal standards representing gay (homoerotic) relationships. The way that a companion (an older man) and his lover ( a younger man) may act towards each other is largely based on society s ethical code. Plato s work provides a better understanding of love because the homoerotic relationship between an older man and younger man creates positivity because it expands the virtue in the older man and the wisdom in the younger man. Secondly, Pausanias shows the moral aspects are important within homoerotic love because they are a guide to the right and wrong ways to satisfy desire. World War I was mostly fought in the trenches, where soldiers lived in deep, v shaped holes or underground bunkers. Chlorine inflicts damage by forming hydrochloric acid when it comes in contact with moisture such as what is found in the lungs and eyes. It is lethal at a ratio of 1:5000 (gas/air), whereas phosgene is deadly at 1:10,000 (gas/air) twice as toxic! Diphosgene, first used by the Germans at Verdun on 22 June, 1916, was deadlier still and could not be effectively filtered by standard issue gas masks. These elements come together to match the viewer s sense of time and space in reality. This is achieved through the use of many techniques such as the 180 degree rule, point of view shots, a lack of jump cuts, and other unobtrusive filmmaking techniques. Using these techniques allow the audience to associate with the main characters in the film. For example, the opening sequence reflects this editing with lots of faced paced, sometimes random jump cuts. The editing in this scene as well as the rest of the movie reflects much of the chaos that is occurring. However, in the opening sequence Bigelow slows things down by using a camera that shoots at 58,000 frames per second. She uses this camera to capture the first bomb s blast radius and deadly impact. Juxtaposing this extreme slow mo sequence with the fast paced cuts that happened just before causes a distortion of time for the viewer. After seeing such rapid editing, the audience is momentarily forced to really absorb the force of the explosion. The detailed shots of rocks lifting from the ground and rust separating from a car s frame provide a contrast with the rest of the film. The rest of the film maintains a documentary style, meanwhile utilizing the geography of the setting to convey a sense of uncertainty in the audience. The surroundings are conveyed not only through very tight shots, but also through very wide ones. Jacobs used revealing actions and in The Keys of Destiny the author Neil Philip uses symbolism. The main factor in the different ways that the two authors got the theme across was the craft moves. In The Monkey s Paw W.W. Jacobs uses revealing actions to get the main theme across. In the story one of Mr. White s friends tried to throw out a mummified paw of a monkey because he claims it was cursed. Disregarding that it was cursed and can cause consequences if he uses it he asks for money which he would regret later in the story. W.W Jacobs shows this when he writes, I wish for two hundred pounds, said the old man distinctly. (1.5) this quote is just the first action of where he wishes for the money the revealing part comes later when the Whites obtains the money. The revealing action is when the Whites hear about the death of their son that goes back to their wish for money, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite the evident threats of bankruptcy, caste politics and Hindu Nationalism, India is a great example of unity in diversity and a beacon of high tech modernity . (Corbridge et al, 2013). However, it can be said that India is stuck between a prodigious need for cultural renaissance and the banes of class politics. (Pradhan et al, 2105: 12). In this essay, I will begin by talking about the association between class and caste, as this is an important aspect in order to understand how these issues shape the politics of India. Further on, I will talk about the gradual emergence of classes over the period of time and their influence on politics, beginning with colonial period and concluding with the modern India.
