- 1. How I used font as a horror convention on my website. By Stephanie Caldecott
- 2. To find a suitable font to use on my website, I typed 'horror fonts' into a search engine, which lead me to a website called 'dafont,' which provides free fonts for anybody's use. I typed in the word I wanted in a horror font and these samples came up: The circled font is the font I chose to use on my website, as I felt it reflected the horror conventions and fit in with my overall design.
- 3. I copied and pasted the font into paint and inverted the colours of the image in order to swap around the font colour from black to white, and the background colour from white to black. After inverting the colours, I felt that the black background fit in better with my website visually due to the overall black background and the horror convention of a dark colour palette.
- 4. After seeing that this font worked well on my website, I decided to use it as the 'house font' on all of the titles, subtitles and review section. I think that by using a font specifically designed with the theme of horror in mind, I have added to the horror conventions on my website, therefore enabling me to attract the attention of a big chunk of my target audience, which are fans of horror.
