Developing a framework for delivering a personalised online digital literacie...Trisha Poole
Digital literacies are a critical aspect of being an active and engaged member of 21st century society, and it is important to provide English as a second language (ESL) speakers with opportunities to develop their digital literacies in English. However, pedagogy and content specifically focusing on digital literacies are routinely lacking in initial ESL teacher training. Compounding this is that in-service ESL teacher professional learning is often not focused on digital literacies or does not adequately consider the specific contextual constraints and sensitivities that in-service ESL teachers face. Therefore, a professional learning course that is focused on digital literacies and personalised to individual ESL teacher contexts is needed in order to address this gap. This paper discusses the need for in-service ESL teacher training on digital literacies and presents the nascent development of a framework that will be used to deliver personalised online professional learning (POPL) that addresses these needs. The framework incorporates four critical aspects of effective professional learning: personalisation, social constructivism, situatedness, and extended time frames.

Elizabeth will challenge participants to stop thinking about adult education as different from anyone else’s education. Tips to prepare a better presentation for a webinarWeb2Present
So how does a perfect PowerPoint presentation look like for a webinar?
It’s simple. According to the famous 30-20-10 rule proposed by Guy Kawasaki, the Chief evangelist of Canva, advisor to the CEO of Motorola and chief evangelist of Apple, a presentation should have no more than 10 slides, should not take longer than 20 minutes and have a font of 30pt.
Don´t forget this rule when making the next PowerPoint presentation for a Student Recruitment Webinar or any type of webinar. We also recommend you to keep it short, simple, legible and avoid distracting your audience, in this case the students. Once you lose them you never get them back. You’ll be more compelling and convincing!
Here we´re sharing with you a unique infographic created by our team explaining some tips to prepare a better presentation for a webinar.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Editor's Notes
Hi everybody,
Welcome to our webinar of the Master’s Programme Gender Studies –Intersectionality and Change at Linköping university in Sweden. We are very happy to see that so many of you are online and have decided to join this webinar in real time.
My name is Wera Grahn and I am the Head of the Unit of Gender Studies at Linköping university and am also an Associate Professor here.
I will tell you a little bit about the University and Sweden and I will also say some words about the Unit of Gender Studies
Linköping University is situated in the south east of Sweden, It is famous for its interdisciplinarity and its cross-faculty collaborations. It is also known for its excellent work with equal opportunities and diversity work and Gender Studies as a discipline has a prominent role at the university. With our education and research we have placed gender studies on both the national and international map with our Swedish international Centre for Gender Excellence. And we also have specific Gender lecturers at all the four faculties and they are integrated in all graduate programmes at the university.
Moreover, we have three different centres of gender research:
Medical faculty
Centre of gender Studies and equal opportunities and
Our unit of Gender Studies Linköping University has a long tradition of cooperation across discipline and faculty boundaries and an engaged dialogue with industry and society. We are known for creating new study programmes and finding new ways to tackle research problems. – Our Gender Studies MA-programme is an example of this.
Linköping university is a public non profit university
We have around 27 000 students among whom about 2000 are international students
300 professors

Linköping have always been very focused on finding new ways of working with education and we are one of the leading providers of education in Sweden according to various evaluations. Among the examples of this is our online education which this MA programme is a part of.
Highly ranked university
Linköping University is highly ranked internationally. Since 2010, we have climbed more than any other Swedish university on some of the ranking lists
Of course, rankings are important. But students opinions are too. Linköping University takes part in the International Student Barometer, which is a survey. In 2011, when asked how satisfied international students were with all aspects of their studies at Linköping University, we came out as No. 1 of 200 universities worldwide.
According to the same survey, Linköping University is also the most eco-friendly university in the world.
According to international students, Linköping University is a good place to be!
Apart from being an eco-friendly environment, Linköping university also has also:
An open climate with a strong focus on team work (tutor groups)
Student centred learning
Independent thinking is encouraged
Interdisciplinary approach in education and research
