hosting website in which users can upload and view other
peoples images and videos.
• This is clearly a web 2.0 application because the user can
interact with other peoples uploaded content through things
such as commenting on other posts.
• This has affected media audiences as it’s a form of social
networking, allowing these people to stay connected.
• This allowed media producers to upload their own content to
the website so it can be shared for publicity.
WIKIS
• Wikis is a genre of website in which there is a collection
of information about a specific topic. It allows for users to
submit their own information of the topic.
• It is a web 2.0 as it’s a collective goal of all the wiki
contributors to create a large amount of accurate data
and information.
• It allows media audiences to find extensive information
about a specific topic
• It allows media producers to give their own knowledge
on the topic to a free website in which anyone can
access.
TWITTER
• This website allows people to share short memo’s with the
world. It is limited to 140 characters and images are also
allowed.
• It is a web 2.0 application due to each user having a
username, and people can have both public and private
conversation. Anyone can also post random messages
publicly.
• Media audiences are allowed to read up on peoples opinions
and other general quotes
• Media producers are allowed to share their thoughts, opinion
and whatever they want to really, that is if they can limit their
ego to 140 characters.
FACEBOOK
• A social networking platform in which users can share
posts about whatever they desire with their ‘friends’
which they added.
• It is a web 2.0 as people can share posts with their
friends and also interact with each other through
comments.
• This allows media audiences to share what they’ve been
up to in their life and what they find noteworthy.
• It allows people to stalk on other users and keep up with
their life.
KANEVA.COM
• This is a social website presented in a gaming format.
Users can interact with each other in a virtual world.
• This application is web 2.0 as users can add content to
the world in which they live in.
• It allows media audiences to roam a fake world so they
can escape the harsh reality of life
• It allows media producers to gain an empire of internet
friends on a platform which mimics real life.
KICKSTARTER
• This website is a platform for safe crowd funding of different
projects. A company or person puts out a request of a certain
amount of money to make their vision possible, and several
people can fund it without the need for big company
investment.
• It is a web 2.0 application as users can give comments on the
crowd funding thread but also give money towards a product.
• It allows media audiences to fund projects they’re passionate
about, which usually leads to perks such as things like t-shirts
or free access to the product.
• It allows media producers to get funding indepentely.
INSTAGRAM
• This website blends the quick consuming nature of
twitter, and blends it with the photo sharing capabilities of
flickr. Users can upload and view photos.
• This is a web 2.0 application as users can upload their
own images and people can post comments on this post.
• Media audiences can look at their friends images
• Media producers can upload their photos to create an
album known as ‘vanity project’
YOUTUBE
• It is a video sharing website in which people can upload
and view other peoples videos, both professional and
amateur videos are uploaded.
• It is a web 2.0 website as videos of any length can be
uploaded, and other people can view and comment on
this content.
• It allows media audiences to use this website to
procrastinate and potentially learn something from this
visual audio format.
• It allows media producers to share videos and maybe
even make money from the application also through
advertisements.

  • 3. WIKIS • Wikis is a genre of website in which there is a collection of information about a specific topic. It allows for users to submit their own information of the topic. • It is a web 2.0 as it’s a collective goal of all the wiki contributors to create a large amount of accurate data and information. • It allows media audiences to find extensive information about a specific topic • It allows media producers to give their own knowledge on the topic to a free website in which anyone can access.

It is limited to 140 characters and images are also allowed. • It is a web 2.0 application due to each user having a username, and people can have both public and private conversation. Anyone can also post random messages publicly. • Media audiences are allowed to read up on peoples opinions and other general quotes • Media producers are allowed to share their thoughts, opinion and whatever they want to really, that is if they can limit their ego to 140 characters.

Users can interact with each other in a virtual world. • This application is web 2.0 as users can add content to the world in which they live in. • It allows media audiences to roam a fake world so they can escape the harsh reality of life • It allows media producers to gain an empire of internet friends on a platform which mimics real life.

A company or person puts out a request of a certain amount of money to make their vision possible, and several people can fund it without the need for big company investment. • It is a web 2.0 application as users can give comments on the crowd funding thread but also give money towards a product. • It allows media audiences to fund projects they’re passionate about, which usually leads to perks such as things like t-shirts or free access to the product. • It allows media producers to get funding indepentely.

Users can upload and view photos. • This is a web 2.0 application as users can upload their own images and people can post comments on this post. • Media audiences can look at their friends images • Media producers can upload their photos to create an album known as ‘vanity project’

YOUTUBE • It is a video sharing website in which people can upload and view other peoples videos, both professional and amateur videos are uploaded. • It is a web 2.0 website as videos of any length can be uploaded, and other people can view and comment on this content. • It allows media audiences to use this website to procrastinate and potentially learn something from this visual audio format. • It allows media producers to share videos and maybe even make money from the application also through advertisements.
