Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM uses a large number of narrow sub-carriers for multi-carrier transmission to overcome the effect of multi path fading problem. LTE uses OFDM for the downlink, from base station to terminal to transmit the data over many narrow band careers of 180 KHz each instead of spreading one signal over the complete 5MHz career bandwidth. OFDM meets the LTE requirement for spectrum flexibility and enables cost-efficient solutions for very wide carriers with high peak rates.
The primary advantage of OFDM over single-carrier schemes is its ability to cope with severe channel conditions. Channel equalization is simplified. The low symbol rate makes the use of a guard interval between symbols affordable, making it possible to eliminate inter symbol interference (ISI).
This narrated power point presentation attempts to explain the various dispersion mechanisms that are observed in optical fibers. Some fundamental terms and concepts are also discussed. In fibre optic communications Wavelength Division Multiplexing or WDM is a technology which multiplexes a number of optical carrier signals onto a single optical fibre by using different wavelengths of laser light. This technique enables us to get high bit rate and efficient use of fibre bandwidth. WDM allows communication in both the directions in the fiber cable.
In WDM, the optical signals from different sources or (transponders) are combined by a multiplexer, which is essentially an optical combiner. They are combined so that their wavelengths are different. The combined signal is transmitted via a single optical fiber strand. At the receiving end, a demultiplexer splits the incoming beam into its components and each of the beams is send to the corresponding receivers.

A Beginner's Guide to Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM)VERSITRONINC
Wavelength division multiplexing or WDM has gained immense traction over the last few years. It has been the preferred choice of technology for transporting massive data in the form of light signals over a fiber cable. By doing so, it maximizes fiber network capacity and avoids excess wiring. Are you intrigued to know more about WDM technology?
What is WDM(wavelength division multiplexer) and how does it work.pdfHYC Co., Ltd
As technology continues to advance, the demand for more data and faster speeds increases. One way to meet these demands is by using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology, which allows for the expansion of a network's capacity by increasing the amount of data that can be transmitted over a single fiber optic cable. In this article, we'll explore how WDM works and the benefits it can bring to your network.
Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) is a technology for transporting large amounts of data between sites. It increases bandwidth by allowing different data streams to be sent simultaneously over a single optical fiber network. There are two main types of WDM systems: coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) and dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM). This article provides some knowledge about CWDM.

Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM): A Review Kamal Pradhan
it is clear that as we approach the 21st century the remarkable revolution in information services has
permeated our society. This rapid growth of information technology has led to new services hungry for transmission
capacity. Communication, which in the past was confined to narrowband voice signals, now demands a high quality
visual, audio, and data context for services such as Voice over-Internet protocol (VoIP), video streaming,
broadcasting of TV programmes, high-speed file sharing, E-commerce and E-Governance need a transmission
medium with very high bandwidth capabilities for handling vast amounts of information. The telecommunications
industry, however, is struggling to keep pace with these changes. Earlier predictions were made that current fiber
capacities would be adequate for our needs into the next century but they have been proven wrong but these fiber-
optics, with its comparatively infinite bandwidth and by employing the latest multiplexing technique, i.e. Dense
Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) has proven to be the solution.
There are several possible methods for increasing
transmission capacity over fixed bandwidth.
These include modulation employing different amplitude
levels, two orthogonal subcarriers and polarization.
In fact, the only remaining unused dimension is Space.

With the concept of 3G & 4G services OCDMA is one of the important technologies, that provide a very high speed communication. In this technology multiple users can communicate simultaneously to transfer different kind of data. OCDMA enables the best use of available bandwidth and the spectrum to represent a cost efficient network. But in a network there is always the requirement to increase the security and the efficiency or the throughput of a multiuser communication in the OCDMA network. The proposed work is about to increase the efficiency in a Noisy channel. Here the work will be performed on impulse noised network. We are here proposing the orthogonal approach along with OCDMA to improve the throughput. We are trying to show the results in terms of noise ratio and the derived throughput. The proposed work is about to reduce this packet loss and to increase the throughput in the noisy network. To overcome this drawback and to increase the throughput we are using the concept of OFDM along with CDMA. This concept is represented as the Orthogonal CDMA.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

8. HISTORY OF WDM
The Concept was first published in 1970,
and by 1978 WDM systems were being
realized in the laboratory. The First WDM
systems only combined two signals.
Modern systems can handle up to 160
signals and thus expand a basic 10 Gbit/s
fiber system to a theoretical total capacity
of over 1.6Tbit/s over a single fiber pair.

Most WDM systems operate on single mode fiber optical cables, which have a core
diameter of 9μm. Certain form of WDM can also be used in multi-mode fiber cables
(also known as premises cables) which have core diameters of 50 or 62.5μm.
11. Why is WDM used?
with the exponential growth in communications, caused
mainly by the wide acceptance of the internet, many
carriers are finding that their estimates of fiber needs have
been highly underestimated. Although most cables
included many spare fibers when installed, this growth has
used many of them and new capacity is needed.

Benefits of WDM
WDM technology allows multiple connectors over one fiber
thus reducing fiber plant management.
This is mainly beneficial for long-haul applications.
Campus applications require a cost benefit analysis.
WDM technology can also provide fiber redundancy.
WDM provides a managed fiber service.
