War Of 1812 Essay
Writing an essay on the War of 1812 can be a challenging task, as it requires a deep
understanding of historical events, their causes, and their consequences. The complexity of the
topic lies in the multifaceted nature of the war, involving political, economic, and social aspects.
To craft a comprehensive essay, one needs to delve into the root causes of the conflict, analyze
the key players involved, and evaluate the impact of the war on both the United States and its
adversaries.
Researching primary and secondary sources is crucial to gaining a nuanced perspective on the
War of 1812. This may involve sifting through historical documents, scholarly articles, and books
to gather information and different viewpoints. The challenge lies not only in finding relevant
sources but also in critically evaluating their reliability and bias.
Crafting a well-structured essay on this topic demands the ability to synthesize information
coherently and present a compelling argument. The writer must address the underlying causes,
major battles, and geopolitical implications of the war. Moreover, the essay should explore the
war's impact on the development of the young American nation and its relations with other
global powers.
Balancing historical accuracy with engaging writing is another hurdle. It is essential to convey
information in a way that captivates the reader's interest while maintaining academic rigor. This
requires a delicate balance between narrative storytelling and analytical discussion.
Additionally, the essay must adhere to proper citation styles and academic conventions. Accurate
referencing of sources and providing a bibliography are integral components that contribute to
the essay's credibility.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the War of 1812 is a challenging endeavor that demands
thorough research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. However, with
dedication and a systematic approach, one can produce a compelling and informative piece on
this pivotal moment in history.

Analysis Of The Poem Where The Sidewalk Ends
Shel Silverstein is a notable writer, made famous for his poems that were geared
towards children. One of his most famous poems, Where the Sidewalk Ends shares
the title with what may be his most well known book. This poem is a very
meticulously worded work, and although it may be published in a children s book, it
can be understood and very meaningful to older generations. This piece has a depth
and wisdom that may be well beyond the comprehension of young minds, and it can
be interpreted and analyzed in many ways and can reveal a variety of themes. When
first reading this short poem, the initial theme that stands out to me, personally is the
idea of the change that occurs during aging. It seems that the stark contrast between
the imagery of the first stanza, versus the second stanza reveals the dramatic
difference between childhood and adulthood. Childhood can be thought of as more
gentle, airy, and even innocent. The third lineof the first stanza says the grass grows
soft and white... (Silverstein, n.d.). This gives that notion of gentleness, and
innocence associated with childhood. Many think of the color white and associate it
with innocence, maybe because of their religious practices. Religious imagery
sometimes depicts heavenly beings in white robes, possibly surrounded by white
wisps of clouds or white rays of light. The word soft is also associated with
gentleness. Many would imagine the soft grass, and think back to a time in their
childhood on a
Speech On Child Labor
So..What is child labor? Child labor is children basically being slaves for other
people. Children who are involved in child labor are sold by their parents to other
companies. Adults would not be considered people who are in child labor because
they are grown adults. They work in fields and factories but mostly factories.
Sometimes they work in gold mines but with no safety equipment whatsoever. These
children work all day and not like you think which is maybe 3 hours. They spend
countless hours which I doubt you would even guess working in those fields,
Factories and gold mines. This segment will teach you all about childlaborand what
effects it has on these children. In this essay you will learn about Child Labor and
how it affects different children

But that is what set Activists wondering about child labor and what they can do to
prevent it from happening again. This became now a worldwide issue and eventually
Craig Kielburger heard about the problem and he figured out how he could solve it.
He eventually started a organization that helped kids in child labor. He eventually
got a success and was able to help other kids in child labor. All of this just started
because of the shooting.
Right now Child Labor is a International problem and it is trying to be stopped in
many countries. We do not child labor because it is a very sad thing to deal with
and we do have sympathy for what those children are going through and how much
they have to work. They are not just doing chores, they are doing labor.
Now let us get into more about the mines that the children do work in. The mines
that the children in child labor work in are very poisonous. They are unlicensed but
they still force the children who do not wear the proper safety equipment to work in
the mines and to mine the gold. The reason of the poison in the mines is because of
Mercury which is a very deadly
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Virus Spreading
The main aim of this research is to analyze different approaches to the problem of
virus spreading and propose new methods which are based on the comprehensive
analysis of previous solutions. This paper outlines pros and cons of three models
such as susceptible infected susceptible (SIS), susceptible infected removed (SIR)
and susceptible inflected removed antidotal (SIRA). From this survey we could make
a conclusion that all existing models mentioned above are appropriate for computer
networkprotection from the virusspreading problem. However, all these approaches
have a number of disadvantages. So, in terms of lack of safety in computers
protection from virus spreading new solutions should be found.

In previous works researchers have frequently used epidemiological models for
modeling the dynamics of computer virus spreading. Nowadays there are two main
mathematical approaches, as described in [3]. The first one is deterministic model
which is based on differential equations and is suited for large networks, for
instance, global Internet network. Another approach is stochastic model that employ
Markov chains and diffusion processes. This method suits better small local
computer networks and in my work I will focused mainly on this approach. In
words, Markov chain is the sequence of random events with a finite or countable
number of outcomes, characterized by the property that, for a fixed present the
future does not depend on the past. So, from the theoretical side, this approach will
be the most suitable and urgent for modeling this kind of system, because all time
moments between different conditions of the system would be distributed with
Poison distribution. That is why in my work I decided to use stochastic model
approach based on Markov
American Red Cross Analysis
It s amazing how far United States have come along when it comes to caring for an
individual that you don t know, yet you are doing everything in your power to save
someone s life. American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton on May 21,
1881, but before the American Red Cross came into America it was and
international movement that was founded by a young Swiss man named Henry
Dunant. To know that 40,000 men are laying dead or alive and wounded from a
war that soldiers fought for us in the civil war, yet there were no medical attempts
to save lives, made Dunant organize local people to help wounded soldiers. The
locals helped with wounded soldiers by feeding, and comforting them when in need.
In October 1868 the International Red Cross Movement was created in Geneva,
Switzerland and their duty was to provide non partisan care to the wounded soldiers
in time of war. (American Red Crosspg. 12, 2011) After the civil... Show more content

Geneva Convention in 1882. Barton became the first President of Red Cross, they
established their first local chapter in Dansville, NY and after that day they had
their first disaster relief in Michigan by a major forest fire. (Rosenberg, 2014) As
the years pass by American Red Cross begins to grow more, and more when it
comes to helping victims during a disaster. They even started helping victims
when it came to sheltering them because their homes were damaged by hurricanes,
floods or man made disasters. Later on in the 1900 they were giving a
congressional charter that mandated the organization by translation or
communicating between family s members and members of the Military or people
affected by a disaster.( Rosenberg, 2014) They played a big part in World War II,
which lead to the blood collection service in 1948 and CPR classes for the

Nail Salon Research Paper
Everyone dreams of getting professional nail services that guarantee a glamorous
look. However, this is not always the case for most people as they end up with an
infection or discolored nails. It is very crucial to take your time before choosing a
nail salon.
A nail salon primarily offers nail care services. However, some nailsalons can further
offer skin care services. Nail salons are mostly associated with highly skilled nail
technicians. Examples of the nail care services offered include nail enhancement,
manicure, and pedicure.

It goes beyond the visible interior cleanliness and further entails proper cleaning of
the instruments used. Most people who go seeking for nail care services without
being so keen on a salon s sanitation level, end up with a bacterial or fungal
infection. An example of an infection includes hepatitis. You should check whether
the salon is using instruments that are routinely sterilized using ultraviolet rays.
This greatly helps fight infections. It is very important to check that your
technician is using new nail files. You should assess how clean the bowls used are.
If you don t trust a nail salon and doubt their levels of hygiene, you can carry your
own tools to get the nail art done. However, this may require you to buy a set of nail
care tools.
Does your nail salon of choice have a license?
A nail salon license is important. It shows that the business is legal and hygienic. It
is a requirement by law that nail technicians visibly display their operating license.
The licenses offer awareness on hygienic nail care services. They also include
professional qualifications of nail technicians.

Leptin is an adipose released hormone that works on the hypothalamus to control
appetite and peripheral regulation of energy metabolism. Leptin works to inhibit the
effects of appetite stimulating hormones while stimulating the effects of hormones
such as corticotrophin releasing factor that suppress appetite stimulations. 5
Sensory pathways bringing in information from the blood and CSF to the
hypothalamus, have their first order neurons in the ARC. It contains the neuropeptide

role in the simulation of food intake. 6
Serotonin signaling in the central nervous system produces hyophagia through its
effects on the suppression of food intake. The anorexigenic 5HT2C receptor is
largely expressed in the hypothalamus, particularly in the POMC neurons of the
arcuate nucleus where stimulation of PMOC neural activity via this receptor
results in hypophagia and weight loss. 7 5HT is a potent satiety signaler with 5
HT1A and 5 HT2C receptors as the prime mediators of 5HT in regulating food
intake. The action of serotonin on these receptors confers opposing results. Binding
of serotonin on 5 HT1A increases food intake while 5HT2C decreases it.
Serotonin when produced in the CNS acts as a neurotransmitter, however a large

him safe. Cyrano agrees to do this because of Roxanne s request of him to do so.
He hides his love for her in protecting Christian. He feels that through him
protecting Christian it will make her happy. Also he protects Christian out of his
love for Roxanne. Nervous Christian says, I need eloquence and I have none!
Optimistic Cyrano responds saying, I ll lend you mine! Lend me your physical

says, what do you mean? Explaining Cyrano says, do you feel evocable of

doesn t have the words of a poet like Cyrano does. Now because Cyrano is writing
the love letters to Roxanne while he can express all his feelings and thoughts
secretly. He knows this will make her happy getting love letters from Christian. It
still conflicts with his love for her because she doesn t know it is actually Cyrano
who is writing the letters. Why he cannot write love letters to Roxanne from
himself he can make her happy my writing love letters to her, having her think they
are from Christian. Angry Roxanne says, it was you! Nervous and confused

Role of Political Factors in Determining Return Volatility: evidence from nonlinear

1.Problem Background:
Political factors and macroeconomic indicators have earned an ever increasing
academic and public attention in influencing the financial health of a country since
last few decades. The stock market performance is not an exception. For instance, two
major political events, the 9/11 attack on the USA of 2001 and the Arab spring
movement in 2011 had down turned the stock market performance markedly,
signalling the compelled importance of investigating the impact of political
conditions on stock market activities.

Obviously, there is no straightforward answer, yet the impact of such chaos on the
investment decisions of firms or individual investors cannot be ruled out. On one
hand, changes in political situation may influence to alter the investor expectations on
equity price changes in near future; some risk averse investors would like to use wait
and see approach during a political turmoil, by anticipating a settle down in the near
future. On the other hand, some investors may decide to go forward to sell their
stocks or avoid buying new stocks, perhaps before the market collapses more. As
these shocks are exogenous and cannot be controlled by the economic forces or
agents, arisen uncertainty may prevail in the market for some time periods.
However, it should be noted that though it is often marked as a risk, harmful or a
negative influence, the impact of political factors may depend on the market size,
level as well as the degree of significance of the political factor. For example, an
uncertainty created by a continuous labour union strike may be faded when it is
called off. On contrast, if the tension occurs due to a sudden military take over , the
uncertainty could prevail for sometimes.
With the frequent political shocks occurred all over the world and their significant
The Berlin Wall Speech
President Kennedy decided to go to West Berlin. It had been 2 years since the Berlin
wall was built and installed by East Germany from this time and the reason Kennedy
was going was to give his Ich bin ein Berliner speech, which Kennedy strongly
denounced the construction of the Berlin wall and exemplified the U.S. total support
for the unification of Germany. President Kennedy fulfilled his obligations and
purpose by identifying with the plight of his audience, immediately with the
suggestion that he too was ich bin ein Berlineror I am a Berliner . Further more, his
visit to West Berlin, which was war torn at this time, molded his presidential speech
by promoting the democratic hallmarks of solidarity and freedom, while soundly
rejecting the flawed ideals of communism. Scholars articulate that more than 1
million citizens of West Berlin flooded the streets to greet him as he passed by.
Being the first Allied president to speak to Berliners as of 1945, president Kennedy
converted an estimated 500,000 people from somber passivity into unrestrained
euphoria (Kuypers, 2012, p. 199). Even though the most of the audience were West
Berliners, it was also aired through various media channels reaching the East Berliner
s, the Soviet Union, the American people and other world leaders. Accordingly,
President Kennedy keenly adapted and carefully worded his speech to highlight the
commonalities of Western Berliners being away from their loved ones and families
and their restrictions
Design Of An Integrated Circuit
CHAPTER 1
1.INTRODUCTION
1.1Overview
Nowadays it is impossible to imagine any device where microelectronics is not
present, from personal computers through home appliances, modern society relies on
the performance of integrated circuits. It is so, that microelectronics advent has
opened doors to new horizons where integrated circuits have played an important role
from the very beginning of their creation since the late 1950s, when Jack St. Clair
Kilby, a Texas Instruments Engineer, decided to change the future, conceiving the
first integrated circuit, where the components, passive as well as active, were
placed over a piece of semi conductive material (Germanium piece) that was half the
size of a paper clip. The success of this element (called chip due to its small size)
containing a few transistors, resistors, and capacitors, led to the Physics Nobel Prize
for its inventor in 2000.
The design of an integrated circuit involves a development plan, where its functional
characteristics and performance will define the elaboration of the logic circuit diagram
. Once the diagram is finished, a series of simulations are executed to test the
operation of the designed circuit; if no issues are encountered, a massive production
plan is implemented.
This manufacturing process has allowed the miniaturization of most of the devices
used daily, translating to lower production costs. The typical manufacturing process
involves the interconnection of the integrated circuit chips to the

The Community of Enslaved Africans and their Religious Spiritual Practices.
During a most dark and dismal time in our nations history, we find that the Africans
who endured horrible circumstances during slavery, found ways of peace and hope in
their religious beliefs. During slavery, African s where able to survive unbearable
conditions by focusing on their spirituality. Christianity was amongst the slave
community. Being that the vast majority of the slave community was born in
America, converting slaves to Christianity was not a struggle. All slaves were not
Christian, and slaves that had accepted Christianity were not official members of the

African firmly believes that there is a living communion or bond of life which
makes for solidarity among members of the same family. Before Christianity,
Africans did have their own system of salvation. In traditional religions, salvation
can and does take the form of courage to face the reality of morality. The church
was looked art as a place for political activity, a source of economic cooperation, an
agency of social control, and a refuge in a hostile white world. Slaves worshiped with
great enthusiasm. Religion, after all, provided a ready refuge from their daily
miseries and kindled the hope that one day their sorrows might end. Planter s
actually encouraged religious observances among their slaves hoping that
exposure to Christian precepts might make their laborers more docile, less prone
to run away, and more cooperative and efficient workers. But slaves turned biblical
scriptures to their own purposes forging a theology that often emphasized the
theme of liberation. It was easy for them to see, for example, in the figure of
Moses a useful model for their own dreams; like the Israelites, they too were ready
to cross a River Jordan into a promised land of freedom. The religious services held
in the quarters provided slaves with so many positive experiences that, even as they
were being exploited, they managed bravely, but perhaps not too surprisingly, to feel
that they were free within themselves. In this way slaves began to achieve a degree
of liberation well
The Novel Heart Of Darkness
Heart of Darkness allows the reader to gain a sense of everything that is wrong with
imperialism and why it should be ended. The narrator is part of the imperialist group
that he condemns, which makes his views seem more authentic and balanced.
Clearly, there is something wrong with the goals of imperialism if the imperials
themselves are against it. Conrad also uses extremely dehumanizing descriptions of
the native Africans and the women in the novellato make a point. To the reader this
exposes the cruelty and unjustness of such portrayals and makes the point that this
treatment of other groups is not acceptable. The novella can be seen as promoting
change by showing the immorality of the problems it describes, which were
commonplace at the time of its writing. A modern work that uses dehumanization to
show the need for change is the collection of short stories, The WomanWarrior.
In The Woman Warrior, women are blatantly dehumanized. One character calls girls
maggots in the rice and says that raising geese would make greater sense
economically than raising girls (Kingston, 89). The memoir depicts the strong
women hating Chinese culture that continues to this day (Stevens, 25). In one of
the novel s stories, the author s aunt becomes pregnant while her husband is away
in America. The woman is cast out by her village and her own family and ends up
drowning herself in a well. Kingston also notes that the baby probably was a girl, and
as such would already be considered

there before others do and before the turkeys wake up you have to find a spot to sit

This One s for the Girl s recorded by Martina McBride is written by Chris Lindsey,
Hillary Lindsey, and Aimee Mayo. It was written to encourage women of all ages
to be themselves regardless of the various difficult situations they may be facing.
The song also advises girls of all ages to live in the moment and enjoy every minute
they have because life flies by. Martina McBrides recorded song is helpful to girls
around the world by its optimistic tone and motivating theme. The tone of this song
is hopeful. It tells women of all ages to stay true to themselves, even when everyone
else around them is changing. This is mostly relatable to teenagers attending high
school. In the song it says, Hold on to your innocence, stand your ground when
everyone s giving in . During high school, children are introduced to various new
things, such as: drugs, sex, and alcohol. It is the students personal choice whether to
give in to these new additions or not, but the song suggests they stand up even when
everyone else around them has given in. The song has three stanzas with four lines.
The rhyme schemeis grouped into pairs, rhyming the first two lines and the last two
lines in each stanza. Rhyming two consecutive lines can make the song easier to
remember. This One s for the Girls is extremely catchy, not only by its meaning, but
also its rhymescheme. It makes an imprint on one s brain. The themes of the song
are in the end, we are all the same inside no matter our age, and time

Essay on Case 20
1. What problems does Robin Hood have? What issues need to be addressed? 2. Do
Robin Hood and the Merrymen need a new mission? new objectives? a new strategy?
In the second year of the insurrection against the Sheriff of Nottingham, the tide of
events is turning against Robin Hood and his men. The revolt, which began as a
personal crusade inspired by anger, is feeling the consequences of not having a long
term strategy or plan. In order to be successful, key changes are necessary for Robin
Hood and the Merrymen.
Robin Hood faces a myriad of problems that can potentially influence the changes
that are crucial for Robin s organization, as well as affect the effectiveness of the
insurrection. As the CEO of his organization, Robin has the ... Show more content on

With no cash inflows, Robin will quickly consume his financial reserves and will
not be able to purchase food, pay his men, or continue to outfit and provision the
band. Consequently, this will leave Robin Hood and his band susceptible to attacks
from a Sheriff that is getting stronger, recruiting more men, and receiving financial
backing. Therefore, in order for the revolt to succeed, Robin Hood and the
Merrymen do need to establish a new mission, new objectives, and a new strategy to
achieve their goals.
3. What strategic options does Robin Hood have? Is continuing with the present
strategy an option or is the present strategy obsolete?
The potential strategic options of Robin Hood are to continue on with no major
changes, to institute a fixed transit tax, to pursue geographic expansion, to try to kill
the Sheriff, or to accept the barons offer. While continuing with the present strategy
and stealing from the rich to give to the poor is a viable option, it has more future
negative consequences than positive ones. The mere fact that the Merrymen are
growing at such a fast pace suggests that the present strategy is beginning to be
obsolete, and furthermore, travelers are wiser and are avoiding Sherwood Forest
altogether. This means that Robin Hood s and the band s revenue will decrease and
they will not be able to continue to operate and keep the insurrection alive.

Example Of Conformity Essay
Earlier this semester, some friends and I were talking loudly and before we were
about to step outside we saw other Midshipmen were standing at attention. Though
we did not directly hear colors, we recognized from the people around us that we
should also come to attention. Conformity in this case was good because if we did
not come to attention then it could have been a sign of disrespect even if it was not
intentional. Though there is no way to make this example better, I think
conformity in situations outside of this example can cause people to lose their
individuality. Sometimes people are scared to be different, and because of that,
they try to do what is normal. The room next to mine in Bancroft Hall is a three
man room, and one of the Midshipmen in that room always stayed up late to shine
his shoes. His roommates requested that he stop doing this, or possibly do it earlier.
The Midshipman shining his shoes agreed to the request made by his peers. This is
an example of compliance. It is not obedience because the order did not come from
an authoritative figure. It was important for the roommates to agree on a time to cut
off the lights because they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before college, one friend in particular was not a drinker, and he was a straight A
student. After joining the fraternity, he was told to go drink at bars with his
fraternity on weeknights or else they would drop him. As a result of going out too
much, my friends grades fell hard and he was struggling in college. He did not
apply critical thinking skills because he should have known that he needs to get

would provide him with a social group. He lacked confidence in himself by thinking
if the fraternity dropped him than he would make no friends. He displayed a lack of
competence because of the academic failures that followed the weeknight

him to become one of the most incisive type designers in history. He began

The book of Amos is the earliest preserved example of classic prophetic writings. It
consists of nine chapters, but Amos did not write the entirety of them. A majority
of scholars think that not all of the material in Amos goes back to the prophet
himself but was added later by ancient editors of the book. The anthology contains
a variation of materials: prophecies, visions and addresses from Amos to the people
of Israel. Two major themes of the book are the social injustice in Israel, and the
impending doom in Israel s future. Amos is the third of the minor prophets. His
name is usually taken to signify Carrier , but is better interpreted Heavy or Burden ,

The rich oppressed the poor; might was right; it was an age of corruption. The
religious leaders in Israel believed that Yahweh materially rewarded those who honor
him and practice at the established places of worship, which meant that the poor did
not live comfortably because they refused to regularly participate in religious
activities. Amos, on the other hand, was taught that you express loyalty for Yahweh

Fair Trade Is An Organized Social Movement
Introduction:
Fair trade is an organized social movement. Its goal is to carry out trade under
commercial agreements where producers achieve better trading conditions and
sustainability by setting minimum prices at which distributors can sell their products.
The movement is focused mainly on products that are made and exported from
developing nations to developed ones. Most commonly products and commodities
such as coffee, sugar, tea, honey, cotton, cocoa, gold and fruits etc from countries like
India, Brazil, Sri Lanka and African nations.
The following report looks at what the concept of Fair Trade means and the impact
that it has on producers, communities and the environment. It then proceeds on to
the demographics regarding consumers of fair trade products, who they are and
what sort of products do they prefer most. It shall look at why they do or do not opt
for fair trade products and will provide advice to retailers on how to improve sales of
fair trade goods with a recommendation at end for people on how to do their part in
promoting the fair trade cause.
According to Fairtrade.org.uk;
Fair trade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for
farmers and workers.
It s about supporting the development of thriving farming and worker communities
that have more control over their futures and protecting the environment in which
they live and work.

Persuasive Essay On Recycled Water
Did you know that the average American household uses 400 gallons of water per
day? With most of it being used in the bathroom for bathing, toilet flushing,
handwashing and brushing of teeth! Other common uses for water include laundry,
dishwashing, drinking, cooking, car washing and even watering of lawns. Where
does this water go? A small portion will go back into the earth but most of it will
flow through a sewer system heading to a sewage treatmentplant to eventually be
reused. In California, we get our water from a surface water source, coming from a
river, lake, or reservoir. With the yearly average amount of rain and snow at 30
inches and shrinking per year, this makes water recycling a priority in today s efforts
on conservation. So, what is recycled water?
Recycled water is former wastewater that has gone through a process to remove
contaminants so that it can be used for other purposes such as irrigation for crops
and landscape ( Water Recycling and Reuse ). Another source of recycled water is
gray water, which is reusable wastewater from residential, commercial and industrial
bathroom sinks, bath tub shower drains and clothes washing equipment drains (
Water Recycling and Reuse ). The treatment process includes three steps, first any
solids are removed from the water. Secondly, microorganisms are added to the water
to eat dirt particles and as they get fatter, they ll fall to the bottom of the tank, leaving
cleaner water rising to the top. Lastly, water is
The Conflict Between The Hutu And Tutsi Tribes In Rwanda
Rivalries between neighboring areas have historically led to violent altercations. This
is especially the case in Rwanda, between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes that founded the
nation. Their relationship was not like that at first the tensions seemed to increase
when European powers intervened with the tribes. When Rwandabecame
independent, the malicious competition continued because the tribes had become
accustomed to it and adopted it on their own. It is so implanted in their culture that
even the leaders have been promoting the separation. The biggest challenge facing
present Rwanda is trying to unite the people as a whole and forget about the hateful
rivalry between the founding Hutuand Tutsitribes. Their once feudal division has
evolved into a destructive competition over ethnic superiority as the nation gained
power and eventually became independent.
Originally, the relationship between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes was not hostile it was a
contractual agreement based on skill. The Hutus, who had settled in Rwanda first,
were mainly involved in small scale agriculture. The Tutsis were more advanced
socially and politically and took over control once they migrated to the area. Tutsi
people were cattle herders and soon developed a client patron like arrangement with
the Hutus, called Ubhuahke. In this agreement, Hutus provided personal services and
allegiance in exchange for Tutsis providing them cattle, land, and protection (Rwanda,
UPenn). Although they were the minority
The Song, Uprising, by Muse Essay
I am a millennial, a person born between 1980 and 2000. Millennials are possibly
the most influential generation or, what some people may refer to as, the chosen
generation. Our influence has been illustrated by the impact we had in the election
of President Barack Obama. Throughout the last year, my dad has encouraged me
to study millennials because he has been spending many hours studying them,
himself. He believes that music defines the character and values of a generation.
As a lover of all kinds of music, he has enlightened me with a genre of songs
describing the desire for change. Most of the songs were composed by artists of his
generation, Fifth Dimension, Eric Clapton, and Sam Cooke, to name a few. I was
pleasantly surprised... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The artist is admonishing millennials to recognize the threats to our civil liberties. I
automatically found it ironic that the songwriter, Matthew Bellamy, is neither a
millennial, nor is he from the same generation as my parents. Because he was born
between the two generations, he is able to articulate our millennial predicament from
an outside perspective. As a millennial, I accept the songwriter s call to action and
commit myself to helping my peers prepare for our future. Instead of being fearful of
the day that my generation fully understands the burdens placed upon us, but I am
confident that we will overcome the challenges before us.
The song also states Interchanging mind control/ come let the revolution take its
toll/ if you could flick a switch and open your third eye/ you d see that we should
never be afraid to die. Our third eye, or intuition, truly sets us apart. My peers and I
think differently from our parents. We embrace our diversity. We embody the value
that All men are created equal, an ideal that was not honored by generations before
us. This is why we are the chosen generation. We will bring about radical change.
Call it a revolution or call it an uprising, either way, the change will be constructive.

Federal Reserve Bank Of New York Essay
I.Introduction
According to Federal Reserve Bank of New York, The Balance of Payment (BOP)
is a statement used by a country to summarize an economy s transactions with the
rest of the world by both private and public sectors for a specified time period,
usually every quarter or year. It is known as Balance of International Payment , it
involves all transactions between a country s residents and its non residents
involving goods, services and income, financial claims on and liabilities to the rest of
the word. If a country has received money, this is known as a credit , and if a
country has paid or given money, the transaction is counted as a debit . Theoretically,
the BOP should be zero, meaning that assets (credits) and liabilities (debits) should
balance; however, in the reality, this is rarely the case.
The BOP is divided into 3 main categories: the current account, the capital account,
and the financial account (Reem Heakle, 2015).
1. The Current Account The current account refers to the export and import of goods
and services into a country. Within the current account are credits and debits on the
trade of merchandise, including goods such as raw materials and manufactured goods
that are bought, sold or given away in the form of aid. Services refer to receipts from
tourism, transportation, engineering, business service fees such as lawyers or
management consulting, and royalties from patents and copyrights, and income
generating assets such as stocks. Last but
Christianity, Judaism, And Christianity
In my opinion if you would have asked me this one year ago if there was afterlife, I
would of told you no. Once upon a time I believe when you die you stay in the
ground and your soul would stay there as well. I couldn t imagine that there was a
hell, heaven (paradise to some) or even a purgatory. That all change a few month ago
when I learn that some people and some religion might believe what they want to. In
this essay I have picked three religion Islam, Judaism, and Christianityto explain what
each of them have and to be able to show the similarity and difference among them
about the afterlife. Although each religion has its own goal, they however are similar
in belief. I have found that these three religion are known as the... Show more content

No one know really know how the Heaven looks like only to be known as a
wonderful and beautiful place. There is also a place that most Christian Catholic
believe if you aren t meant to be sent to Hell or Heaven, there is a third place to be
sent to call Purgatory. Purgatory is where most Christians stay until called for to
see if they deserve to be in the heaven. The Protestants do not believe in purgatory.
Now all we have to worry about is when we die, let hope we have no sin and that
for our past sins where wash away and those who did not serve God and have god
in their life, will be judged by their deeds. As for Judaism, there is no forever
between good souls and evil souls which in other religion such as Christianity and
Islam. Judaism believe that the devil can be in heaven. As for Judaism they
believe that death is not the end of human life. However, they are more focus on
life now then think about the afterlife. They can believe whatever they want to
believe but the souls of the good people who have die will go to similar heaven or
to some they will be that reincarnated, or some will wait until the coming of the
messiah , where they will be able to relive. Unlike other Judaism Jews they believe
that the evil souls will be torture by demons of their own thoughts, or that evil souls
will die and not to live ever again.
As for Islam they believe in the Paradise or Jinnah, which be similar to

such words going forward (as cited in The Canadian Press). Jerry Howarth resists the

Case Study 75 Year Old Hypothyroidism
Health assessment of 75 year old hypothyroidism patient is a process of collecting
and analyzing data. The data obtained from the health assessment guides the family
nurse practitioner (FNP) in developing plan of care. The health assessment of an
older patient focuses on the health history, physiologic findings, psychological data,
functional abilities and cognitive function of the patient (Buttaro, 2012).
When assessing an older adult, it is important that the family nurse practitioner (FNP)
to be able to distinguish between normal changes of aging and illness. In older adult
patients, clinical features of a disorder may present differently than those in younger
patients. Sensory deficit, cognitive impairments and functional limitations should be
considered when assessing 75 year old hypothyroidism patient. Skillful health
assessment techniques and communication skills are required to FNP especially to
assess old patients (Buttaro, 2012).
In most cases, hypothyroidism is easily treated, however, symptoms of
hypothyroidism are often subtle, and hypothyroidism is frequently underdiagnosed
resulting in potentially serious consequences such as myxedema coma in elders.
Therefore, careful assessment is very important (Buttaro, 2012).

Book report for Todd Buchholz s New Ideas from Dead Economists
This was a great read! Not only was it very informing on past and present economic
thought, but it made economic issues seem exiting, ironic, and understandable. He
connects economic principles with past and modern events like the fall of
communism, global warming, overpopulation, and politics. Issues I didn t even know
existed were brought to life for me with his stories. I particularly enjoyed his chapter
on the doom and gloomers and the frightening theory that population could increase
by such a rate that there will be overcrowding, shortage of food supply and unbearable
pollution. Some of these theories depict our population driven to cannibalistic
instincts. Yet... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I absolutely love how the author includes plenty of personal descriptions about the
lives of the great economists we read about. Karl Marx, David Ricardo, Marshall and
Maynard Keynes for instance, were very real people. Some were considered
unkempt sobs, others so ugly they were called snout by friends, other considered
irrational and crazy even by themselves, and others some of the first economists to
get rich by understanding and trading stocks. The personality Buchholz brings to
the great economic thinkers is fun and very helpful in gaining appreciation as he
has for these men. Their ideas and economic philosophy s apply more than one
would think in this modern world. And this is the main aspect Buchholz brings to
his book; connecting past economic science (and he calls it the science of reason
and choices) to issues we face today. When doing so we see these men were spot
on in many of their predictions. The author brings up these points simply to show
that many of these economic masters do not receive much of the credit they
deserve. And by studying the basics of their theory s we can not only see further
into the future but learn the doctrines they have been trying to teach us from the
beginning. New Ideas from Dead Economists was very descriptive about the ideas of
these men and how they apply to us today. As the author states himself The world is
materially easier but psychologically more difficult to live in today

Learning is like a ripple in the waters of an endless ocean . This is one of my
favourite percepts and for the past few decades, man has been advancing into the
unknown realms of technology and science. This advancement is to make life
comfortable for humans at home and at work and I would like to be an essential part

will lead me to a career of teaching and research.
I am very earnest towards assimilating knowledge to the greatest amplitude.
Effective teaching and proper guidance throughout schooling helped me to build a
strong foundation. I was fascinated by the way things work, from dismantling and
maintaining my own toys to modeling a dam as a part of science exhibition; my
curiosity was focused at unraveling the function of devices. I have decided way long

Changes In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
Tristen parker Gilgamesh in the very beginning of the story a king that was very
reminiscent of a tyrant. He was very selfish and was very self centered only caring
for himself as stated in the epic of Gilgamesh Gilgamesh leaves no girl to her mother
it is interpreted that he deflowers them. However he is not a tyrant all the way
throughout the epic as he changes slowly but surely it is seen many times that he has
changed. The first thing that I noticed that changed is that instead of fighting with or
against the young men of Urukhe left them alone after Enkiduis brought to the city. I
think that he also stopped deflowering the women of Uruk as well since it is never
mentioned again throughout the epic. The second change and the greatest
Use Of Diction In The Rim Of The Ancient Mariner
One of the things you do as a writer and as a filmmaker is grasp for resonant
symbols and imagery without necessarily fully understanding it yourself. These are
the words of the British American film director, screenwriter, and producer
Christopher Nolan who, considering his 21 Oscar nominations and six awards,
clearly knows something about telling a good story. Nolan understands the
importance of good imagery in a story, and that is why he speaks for all writers
when he says that they reach to produce good imagery for their readers or viewers,
so that they may better understand the idea being presented to them. In The Rime of
the Ancient Mariner, author Samuel Taylor Coleridge uses image rich language to
tell his story, and creates an intense picture for his reader. The imagery that Coleridge

The mood in The Rim of the Ancient Mariner is enthralled, and it is strongly
influenced by the imagery and diction that Coleridge uses. First, Coleridge uses
imagery in Part I when he writes; Hold off! unhand me, graybeard loon! / Eftsoons
his hands dropped he. / He holds him with his glittering eye / The Wedding Guest
stood still/ And listens like a three years child: / The Mariner hath his will
(Coleridge 11 16). This immediately gives the reader an intriguing image of this old
gray bearded Mariner, who has a glittering eye that might easily suggest that he is of
the supernatural. The imagery that Coleridge uses to describe the picture of the
Mariner makes it so that just like the Wedding guest, the reader has no other choice
but to continue on to find out what this Ancient Mariner is all about. Coleridge also
uses imagery at the end of Part I, when he reveals the sin that the Mariner commits in

Imagery In The Jungle And The Jungle By Upton Sinclair
During the progressive era, 1900 1920, Chicago had a growing population due to
the vast number of European immigrants settling there. By the 1900s, nearly
750,000 people, almost half of Chicago s population was having to live in the
central park. Trying to produce enough food to keep the city feed was grueling. It
was about meeting the demand. When The Jungle by Upton Sinclair was
published in 1906, which revealed the stomach turning ways of the meat packing
companies, it caused the people to become enraged. In The Jungle, he uses
disturbing visual imagery to describe the filthy conditions of the meat packing
industry in Chicago during the progressive era, in order to get the public s
attention, henceforth gathering the public along his side to fight for better health
codes. In The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, he uses the idea of unhealthy food and no
medicine, to counterbalance the chances the meat packing companies are taking,
therefore causing a union to reform health codes for the better. In The Jungle,
Upton states, It was only when the whole ham was spoiled that it came into the
department of Elzbieta. Cut up by the two thousand revolutions a minute flyers,
and mixed with half a ton of other meat, no odor that ever was in a ham could
make any difference. There was never the least attention paid to what was cut up
for sausage; there would come all the way back from Europe old sausage that had
been rejected, and that was moldy and white it would be dosed with borax and
Marine Debris In The Florida Keys
Abstract:
Marine debris was collected and placed into categories at Long Key State Park in
the Florida Keys. Data was taken on Thursday, March 26th, 2015. The total number
of debris collected totaled at 835 items. The most common type of marine debris
collected during this experiment was assorted plastics totaling at 513 pieces
(61.43%). Many of the debris collected where small and unidentifiable.
Introduction:
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) define marine debris
as any persistent solid material that is manufactured or processed and directly or
indirectly, intentionally or unintentionally, disposed of or abandoned into the marine
environment (NOAA, 2015). Marine debris is classified into two categories: ... Show

For millennia, terrestrial plant matter, seeds, and driftwood have travelled across
the open oceans with the help of surface currents. Even floating islands, also
known as tussocks, floatons, or sudds are common in many Florida lakes and
across the world (Mallison, C.T., 2001). These islands have been known to carry
exotic plants and vertebrate animals. Floating islands promote trans ocean
dispersal of marine and terrestrial organisms. This increases biodiversity and helps
new barren islands thrive. However, in the last five decades, with the growing
number of plastics in the marine environment, the dispersal and occurrence of
these organisms has increased exceedingly (Gregory, R.M., 2009). This paves the
way for invasions by alien and even aggressive invasive species to establish
themselves in new ecosystems beyond their native range. A survey done in 2009
reported that over 150 marine species have established themselves due to marine
debris stranded on the shores of northern New Zealand. Most of these organisms
were identified as crustaceans. Four of those organisms discovered are featured in
figure 3. Specimen A shows various crustaceans on unknown plastic, specimen B
depicts warm water Indo Pacific oysters growing on nylon rope, specimen C depicts
crustaceans growing on a plastic pellet, and specimen D depicts a bryozoan colony

Features And Functions Of Information Systems
P4: Describe the features and functions of information systems
In this document I am going to describe the features and functions of an information
system. The businesses I am going to use are Campsmount Academy and Wabtec.
An information system is a combination of People, IT and business processes that
helps management make decisions to run their business successfully.
Features of an information systems
Data
Data is a very important feature in an information system. The data in these systems
are stored in its original form. This is because the important information in the system
can be used when needed to do specific functions. For example, WABTEC s
integrated information system. In this system important data is stored. Such as,
personal information (address, name, department), shift patterns, different contract
information and supplier information. All this information is placed in one
document with drop down menus. This allows the user to search and find the
information easier and it is simple. Also the data will be clearer and easier to
understand as there will be only that piece of data that has been searched for seen.
People
People that use these types of information systems need to be trained and qualified to
use them as this will help reduce the risk of incidences happening and losing valuable
information. Qualified people are required to make the system so that they are
familiar that the companies system. If they don t make the system they need to be
Executive Director Of The Harvard Business School...
According to Christina L. Darwall, executive director of the Harvard Business
School California Research Center, Built to flip is an essential element of
competing in the new economy, successful businesses are necessarily to be short
in time. (Palowski, 2000) In the 21st century, there is a rising impatience within
the economy. Investors are no longer interested in long term and sustaining
companies, but most of the businesses are aiming to do quickly and get acquired
within a short period, which are the Build to flip companies. (Collin, 2000; p. 1)
Under the culture of entitlement, managers now see themselves are entitled to
make money, and in a case that The faster I go, the faster I feel I need to go .
(Thrift, 2000; p. 26) As well as the rapid growth of consumer demand, leads to the
massive expansion in customer service entitlements. (2014, Lecture 4; p. 8) This is
an unquestionable sign of a boom in decay. (Thrift, 2000; p. 26) In addition,
impermanence is a feature in different phenomenon, and everything will come to the
stage of deterioration. (Zsolnai, 2014; p. 63) If it was permanent in everything, we do
not have to make choices, judgments, responsibilities and entitlements. (2014, Lecture
9; p. 1) Yet, the successes of mass production and consumption in the new economy
seem cause us entirely forgot to notify finitude and limits of the whole world. This
problem would be a threat in our future and the next generation.

Health Care Administrator Of A Hospital
Disasters as we know it comes on suddenly without warning, it can happen
anywhere, anytime or at any hour. In order to regain control of an event is to be
prepared at all times. Often, danger occurs, leaving many lives unprepared for
catastrophes or misfortunes. As a Health Care Administrator of a hospital it is
important to be prepared at all times, not only is it a duty, but it is the job of the
Administrator to ensure the safety of its patients at all times. Therefore, it is the
Administrator s duty to ensure their team is prepared at all times for any and all
disasters. Being prepared for each and every incident that arises saves that many
more lives. A conversation about Disaster Preparedness led me to speak with Artie
Salter. Mr. Salter is a Fireman/Emergency Medical Technician, who has been an
active for the more than 17 years at the Charleston County Fire Department, as the
Rank of a Lieutenant. His duty is to respond to emergency calls daily, however his
task as a Fireman/EMT is to be prepared to respond to any type of emergency. As a
result, some days he responds as a Fireman and on other days as an Emergency
Medical Technician. With years of experience, knowledge and understanding of
Disaster Planning, Artie has helped to open my eyes to the untold preparation a
fireman must endure to protect the community in which we live. There are many
days of training and drills that each fireman must attend and pass in order to be
prepared for any and every
Differences Of Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet
Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmets
A new trend
Development of technology has brought many breakthroughs along the years. One of
the innovative things that eased the ways people communicate in traffic is the
bluetooth motorcycle helmet. This way, bikers can easily communicate, listen to
music or even listen to the indication of the GPS without having to pull out the
mobile device.
Differences between bluetooth helmets
Bikers can choose from a wide range of bluetooth helmets but there are 2 distinctive
models that bikers will have to choose from:
пЃ¬First of all, the most common are the motorcycle helmets with pre installed
bluetooth. These helmets are specially designed for the incorporation of the bluetooth
set.The price of such a helmet is a bit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People that are not accustomed to this kind on devices may find themselves in a
difficult situation. Therefore, here are some tips that should make your decision
easier without having to lose precious time about thinking what are the factors you
need to consider.
пЃ¬A very important asset of your bluetooth helmet setup will be if it is waterproof
or not.Bad weather can be an inconvenience when it comes to your bluetooth
setup. No biker want his dear helmet to short circuit after a single use, especially if the
helmet is on the biker at that moment. Therefore, you might want to check if the
helmet,or setup, you intend to buy has such a feature.
пЃ¬Controls are the most important things you will want to check before buying
such a helmet. You need to know how easy you can use the device and if the
respective customization fits your needs. Some helmets have a quiet odd placement of
the buttons so you might want to check that out before buying the helmet.
пЃ¬When it comes to the materials, carbon, composite and fibreglass will be your
top three.Although a bit pricey, in the end it is all about your safety so don`t go
cheap on yourself! The paint is really up to the buyer`s choice and taste since it is
more about fashion and matching the color with the bike or
Themes Of Osmosis Jones Monomyth
Osmosis Jones and the Monomyth Osmosis Jones tells the story of a white blood
cell who plays the role of a policeman inside a man named Frank. Teamwork is the
central theme in Osmosis Jones, and is developed through the monomyth. The
monomyth or hero s journey shows the steps that most movies go through, for
example, The Matrix, Harry Potter, and Hunger Games. Most of these stories pass
through twelve specific steps. According to Joseph Campbell, in his book, The Hero
With a Thousand Faces, The monomyth is a structure that is common in many heroic
stories, an outline that has existed for millennia. This story follows the main steps
within the monomyth, while each step helps strengthen the theme. Osmosis Jones,
the main protagonist, lives his everyday life as a rebellious germ policeman in the
mouth. The first step of the monomyth, or his call to adventure is when Frank, the
body he is trying to protect, contracts a deadly virus named Thrax. Thinking Thrax
was just a common coldFrank consumes a pill called Drixenol. Drixenol, also
known as Drix, befriends Jones as they are assigned partners on the cold case. Drix
helps fulfill the second step of the monomyth, and becomes Jones assistance. This
is where the two join as one and become a team. Although Jones and Drix go
through a lot of small trials their first big trial, and the third step of the monomyth,
is their encounter with Thrax in the nose. While in Franks nose Thrax turns the
pressure pods up which destroys all the walls in his nostril. This causes a runny
nose which Jones and Drix struggle to contain. After the nose incident Jones and
Drix work together to extract evidence from the old know it all chicken pox
influenza. With Jones smooth talking and Drix s big gun they use teamwork to beat
the truth out of the old timer. Knowing all about Thrax they set off to find and
defeat the menacing virus. Finally, they find Thrax at a new club on Franks forehead
named The Zit. As they listen in on Thrax s plan to kill Frank within forty eight
hours they are discovered. Through teamwork they destroy The Zit and all the germs
within it including Thrax, or so they think. Thrax miraculously survives the explosion
and moves forward with his plan to kill Frank.

basement floor in those operations. Many were reached by passage through large
expanses of fast food operations, occupying space leased from the supermarket.
Department stores carried a broad range of merchandise categories and, in that sense
were comparable to
North American department store operations of the 1960s and early 1970s, before
the development of “category killer” specialty stores and price clubs.
Each store or chain operated within a narrow range of price points, with some very
noticeable price point differences across chains. Retail margins were in the range of
10% to 15%, with high price point stores taking even higher margins. Department
stores and supermarkets usually bought directly from manufacturers.
Wholesalers sold to a range of smaller sized stores in both the larger and smaller
urban areas. They generally bought at the same price as the large direct accounts,
and worked on margins of 3% to 5% of their selling price. It should be noted that
there was not always a clear distinction between retail and wholesale, in that some
retailers acted as a wholesaler for some lines, and some wholesalers sold at retail as
well. Van dealers sold to downscale corner variety stores and small market stalls.
They sold in very small quantities (e.g. three to six pieces) and ex truck and on a cash
basis.
In 1989, approximately 65% of Johnson Johnson sales were direct to retailers, 15% to
Shawshank Redemption Sociological Analysis
Melis Corine Unal Principles of Sociology 10/10/14 Shawshank redemption is about
a banker named Andy Dufrene who was convicted of murdering his wife and lover.
He is later sentenced to life imprisonment at Shawshank prison. Dufrene trys to adjust
to prison life and goes on an unforgettable journey. In society, one of the most popular
punishment for troubled individuals is prison. Throughout their jail time they learn
how to adapt to their environment. Dufrene arrives at the Shawshank correctional
facility where he seems to take on a positive and optimistic attitude despite his
situation. Dufrene spent a lot time doing financial paperwork for the staff and

His brilliant work results in a major expansion of the library s collection, and he
also helped a number of prisoners earn their GED s. This is admirable to those
around him, especially to Red, a fellow inmate who ultimately becomes Dufresne s
closest friend. This represents symbolic interactionism the library which is held as
symbolic meaning which was knowledge and hope, another symbolic meaning in
this movie was the guards uniform it showed that they had authority thus being the
reason why they bullied the inmates and killed them if they wanted too. Another
symbol is the guard s baton which symbolized fear because of the prisoners acted
out they would get beaten with it. Cigarettes in the facility also represented a
symbol which was money because they exchanged favors for cigarettes. An
additional sociological theory that applies to this movie is Functionalism, which is a
new societal surrounding consisting of various roles allowing it to function. An
example of functionalism that relates to one particular scene in the movie is prison,
a place where these criminals can rehabilitate themselves, also can be kept away
from the outside society so they are safe. The guards are also in charge of running

Age Of Disillusionment Research Paper

The Age of Disillusionment The Age of Disillusionment can be defined as a time
when tragedies such as war and poverty caused many to lose their naГЇve and
carefree way of life. During this time, people believed life was dangerous, and they
were afraid of what would happen next in their lives. The fear they felt during this
time was a result of World War I, World War II, the Great Depression, and the
devastation they brought (Hitt). Much like President Woodrow Wilsons War Message
to Congress and Phillip Larkin s poem MCMXIV, the Age of Disillusionment was
filled with hopelessness and fear as a result of tragic events such as the sinking of the
passenger ship, the Lusitania. On May 1, 1915, the British passenger ship, the
Lusitania, set sail from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He knew he had to do something to stop the tyrannical German government from
wreaking any more havoc upon the lives of civilians (Wilson). President Wilson s
speech is very characteristic of the Age of Disillusionment because, like many
works during the age, his speech is about people coming to terms with the fact that
their loved ones have died and how they feel hopeless for a better life. During this
age, people began to question whether they were safe (Hitt). President Wilson says
the only way to ensure a safer life and better future for all, was to go to war with
Germany. He knew that people would be scared to take such a large risk, and knew
that many would die, but he also knew that it must be done. Four days after his
speech, the United States of America officially entered World War I (Wilson). The
amount of loss that was to come in the war would only lead to Americans being more
fearful and the feeling of disillusionment during the age would only grow. As a result,
the literary aspect of the Age of Disillusionment flourished and quickly became one of
the most influential ages in American

  • 2. Analysis Of The Poem Where The Sidewalk Ends Shel Silverstein is a notable writer, made famous for his poems that were geared towards children. One of his most famous poems, Where the Sidewalk Ends shares the title with what may be his most well known book. This poem is a very meticulously worded work, and although it may be published in a children s book, it can be understood and very meaningful to older generations. This piece has a depth and wisdom that may be well beyond the comprehension of young minds, and it can be interpreted and analyzed in many ways and can reveal a variety of themes. When first reading this short poem, the initial theme that stands out to me, personally is the idea of the change that occurs during aging. It seems that the stark contrast between the imagery of the first stanza, versus the second stanza reveals the dramatic difference between childhood and adulthood. Childhood can be thought of as more gentle, airy, and even innocent. The third lineof the first stanza says the grass grows soft and white... (Silverstein, n.d.). This gives that notion of gentleness, and innocence associated with childhood. Many think of the color white and associate it with innocence, maybe because of their religious practices. Religious imagery sometimes depicts heavenly beings in white robes, possibly surrounded by white wisps of clouds or white rays of light. The word soft is also associated with gentleness. Many would imagine the soft grass, and think back to a time in their childhood on a
  • 3. Speech On Child Labor So..What is child labor? Child labor is children basically being slaves for other people. Children who are involved in child labor are sold by their parents to other companies. Adults would not be considered people who are in child labor because they are grown adults. They work in fields and factories but mostly factories. Sometimes they work in gold mines but with no safety equipment whatsoever. These children work all day and not like you think which is maybe 3 hours. They spend countless hours which I doubt you would even guess working in those fields, Factories and gold mines. This segment will teach you all about childlaborand what effects it has on these children. In this essay you will learn about Child Labor and how it affects different children They are doing work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But that is what set Activists wondering about child labor and what they can do to prevent it from happening again. This became now a worldwide issue and eventually Craig Kielburger heard about the problem and he figured out how he could solve it. He eventually started a organization that helped kids in child labor. He eventually got a success and was able to help other kids in child labor. All of this just started because of the shooting. Right now Child Labor is a International problem and it is trying to be stopped in many countries. We do not child labor because it is a very sad thing to deal with and we do have sympathy for what those children are going through and how much they have to work. They are not just doing chores, they are doing labor. Now let us get into more about the mines that the children do work in. The mines that the children in child labor work in are very poisonous. They are unlicensed but they still force the children who do not wear the proper safety equipment to work in the mines and to mine the gold. The reason of the poison in the mines is because of Mercury which is a very deadly
  • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Virus Spreading The main aim of this research is to analyze different approaches to the problem of virus spreading and propose new methods which are based on the comprehensive analysis of previous solutions. This paper outlines pros and cons of three models such as susceptible infected susceptible (SIS), susceptible infected removed (SIR) and susceptible inflected removed antidotal (SIRA). From this survey we could make a conclusion that all existing models mentioned above are appropriate for computer networkprotection from the virusspreading problem. However, all these approaches have a number of disadvantages. So, in terms of lack of safety in computers protection from virus spreading new solutions should be found. Introduction Background. In my final graduation work, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In previous works researchers have frequently used epidemiological models for modeling the dynamics of computer virus spreading. Nowadays there are two main mathematical approaches, as described in [3]. The first one is deterministic model which is based on differential equations and is suited for large networks, for instance, global Internet network. Another approach is stochastic model that employ Markov chains and diffusion processes. This method suits better small local computer networks and in my work I will focused mainly on this approach. In words, Markov chain is the sequence of random events with a finite or countable number of outcomes, characterized by the property that, for a fixed present the future does not depend on the past. So, from the theoretical side, this approach will be the most suitable and urgent for modeling this kind of system, because all time moments between different conditions of the system would be distributed with Poison distribution. That is why in my work I decided to use stochastic model approach based on Markov

However, it should be noted that though it is often marked as a risk, harmful or a negative influence, the impact of political factors may depend on the market size, level as well as the degree of significance of the political factor. For example, an uncertainty created by a continuous labour union strike may be faded when it is called off. On contrast, if the tension occurs due to a sudden military take over , the uncertainty could prevail for sometimes. With the frequent political shocks occurred all over the world and their significant
  • 13. The Berlin Wall Speech President Kennedy decided to go to West Berlin. It had been 2 years since the Berlin wall was built and installed by East Germany from this time and the reason Kennedy was going was to give his Ich bin ein Berliner speech, which Kennedy strongly denounced the construction of the Berlin wall and exemplified the U.S. total support for the unification of Germany. President Kennedy fulfilled his obligations and purpose by identifying with the plight of his audience, immediately with the suggestion that he too was ich bin ein Berlineror I am a Berliner . Further more, his visit to West Berlin, which was war torn at this time, molded his presidential speech by promoting the democratic hallmarks of solidarity and freedom, while soundly rejecting the flawed ideals of communism. Scholars articulate that more than 1 million citizens of West Berlin flooded the streets to greet him as he passed by. Being the first Allied president to speak to Berliners as of 1945, president Kennedy converted an estimated 500,000 people from somber passivity into unrestrained euphoria (Kuypers, 2012, p. 199). Even though the most of the audience were West Berliners, it was also aired through various media channels reaching the East Berliner s, the Soviet Union, the American people and other world leaders. Accordingly, President Kennedy keenly adapted and carefully worded his speech to highlight the commonalities of Western Berliners being away from their loved ones and families and their restrictions
  • 14. Design Of An Integrated Circuit CHAPTER 1 1.INTRODUCTION 1.1Overview Nowadays it is impossible to imagine any device where microelectronics is not present, from personal computers through home appliances, modern society relies on the performance of integrated circuits. It is so, that microelectronics advent has opened doors to new horizons where integrated circuits have played an important role from the very beginning of their creation since the late 1950s, when Jack St. Clair Kilby, a Texas Instruments Engineer, decided to change the future, conceiving the first integrated circuit, where the components, passive as well as active, were placed over a piece of semi conductive material (Germanium piece) that was half the size of a paper clip. The success of this element (called chip due to its small size) containing a few transistors, resistors, and capacitors, led to the Physics Nobel Prize for its inventor in 2000. The design of an integrated circuit involves a development plan, where its functional characteristics and performance will define the elaboration of the logic circuit diagram . Once the diagram is finished, a series of simulations are executed to test the operation of the designed circuit; if no issues are encountered, a massive production plan is implemented. This manufacturing process has allowed the miniaturization of most of the devices used daily, translating to lower production costs. The typical manufacturing process involves the interconnection of the integrated circuit chips to the

Before Christianity, Africans did have their own system of salvation. In traditional religions, salvation can and does take the form of courage to face the reality of morality. The church was looked art as a place for political activity, a source of economic cooperation, an agency of social control, and a refuge in a hostile white world. Slaves worshiped with great enthusiasm. Religion, after all, provided a ready refuge from their daily miseries and kindled the hope that one day their sorrows might end. Planter s actually encouraged religious observances among their slaves hoping that exposure to Christian precepts might make their laborers more docile, less prone to run away, and more cooperative and efficient workers. But slaves turned biblical scriptures to their own purposes forging a theology that often emphasized the theme of liberation. It was easy for them to see, for example, in the figure of Moses a useful model for their own dreams; like the Israelites, they too were ready to cross a River Jordan into a promised land of freedom. The religious services held in the quarters provided slaves with so many positive experiences that, even as they were being exploited, they managed bravely, but perhaps not too surprisingly, to feel that they were free within themselves. In this way slaves began to achieve a degree of liberation well

The narrator is part of the imperialist group that he condemns, which makes his views seem more authentic and balanced. Clearly, there is something wrong with the goals of imperialism if the imperials themselves are against it. Conrad also uses extremely dehumanizing descriptions of the native Africans and the women in the novellato make a point. To the reader this exposes the cruelty and unjustness of such portrayals and makes the point that this treatment of other groups is not acceptable. The novella can be seen as promoting change by showing the immorality of the problems it describes, which were commonplace at the time of its writing. A modern work that uses dehumanization to show the need for change is the collection of short stories, The WomanWarrior. In The Woman Warrior, women are blatantly dehumanized. One character calls girls maggots in the rice and says that raising geese would make greater sense economically than raising girls (Kingston, 89). The memoir depicts the strong women hating Chinese culture that continues to this day (Stevens, 25). In one of the novel s stories, the author s aunt becomes pregnant while her husband is away in America. The woman is cast out by her village and her own family and ends up drowning herself in a well. Kingston also notes that the baby probably was a girl, and as such would already be considered

In the second year of the insurrection against the Sheriff of Nottingham, the tide of events is turning against Robin Hood and his men. The revolt, which began as a personal crusade inspired by anger, is feeling the consequences of not having a long term strategy or plan. In order to be successful, key changes are necessary for Robin Hood and the Merrymen. Therefore, in order for the revolt to succeed, Robin Hood and the Merrymen do need to establish a new mission, new objectives, and a new strategy to achieve their goals. 3. What strategic options does Robin Hood have? Is continuing with the present strategy an option or is the present strategy obsolete? The potential strategic options of Robin Hood are to continue on with no major changes, to institute a fixed transit tax, to pursue geographic expansion, to try to kill the Sheriff, or to accept the barons offer. While continuing with the present strategy and stealing from the rich to give to the poor is a viable option, it has more future negative consequences than positive ones. The mere fact that the Merrymen are growing at such a fast pace suggests that the present strategy is beginning to be obsolete, and furthermore, travelers are wiser and are avoiding Sherwood Forest altogether. This means that Robin Hood s and the band s revenue will decrease and they will not be able to continue to operate and keep the insurrection alive. 4. Why not

Though we did not directly hear colors, we recognized from the people around us that we should also come to attention. Conformity in this case was good because if we did not come to attention then it could have been a sign of disrespect even if it was not intentional. Though there is no way to make this example better, I think conformity in situations outside of this example can cause people to lose their individuality. Sometimes people are scared to be different, and because of that, they try to do what is normal. The room next to mine in Bancroft Hall is a three man room, and one of the Midshipmen in that room always stayed up late to shine his shoes. A small portion will go back into the earth but most of it will flow through a sewer system heading to a sewage treatmentplant to eventually be reused. In California, we get our water from a surface water source, coming from a river, lake, or reservoir. Recycled water is former wastewater that has gone through a process to remove contaminants so that it can be used for other purposes such as irrigation for crops and landscape ( Water Recycling and Reuse ). Another source of recycled water is gray water, which is reusable wastewater from residential, commercial and industrial bathroom sinks, bath tub shower drains and clothes washing equipment drains ( Water Recycling and Reuse ). Federal Reserve Bank Of New York Essay I.Introduction According to Federal Reserve Bank of New York, The Balance of Payment (BOP) is a statement used by a country to summarize an economy s transactions with the rest of the world by both private and public sectors for a specified time period, usually every quarter or year. It is known as Balance of International Payment , it involves all transactions between a country s residents and its non residents involving goods, services and income, financial claims on and liabilities to the rest of the word. If a country has received money, this is known as a credit , and if a country has paid or given money, the transaction is counted as a debit . Theoretically, the BOP should be zero, meaning that assets (credits) and liabilities (debits) should balance; however, in the reality, this is rarely the case. The BOP is divided into 3 main categories: the current account, the capital account, and the financial account (Reem Heakle, 2015). 1. The Current Account The current account refers to the export and import of goods and services into a country. Within the current account are credits and debits on the trade of merchandise, including goods such as raw materials and manufactured goods that are bought, sold or given away in the form of aid. Services refer to receipts from tourism, transportation, engineering, business service fees such as lawyers or management consulting, and royalties from patents and copyrights, and income generating assets such as stocks. Maybe because the ticket wasn t his! The real question is where he went. I sprinted to the security guardby the gate to the eye with Kat close behind. Did you see a young man, about 10 years old, wearing a green t shirt and a pair of blue jeans around here? Yeah. Andy, the head guard took him to the police station for using a fake ticket. I pulled him out and started to run home with Kat and Salim when we stopped dead in our tracks. A man stood in front of us. Another stranger. Couldn t trust him, couldn t trust the man who gave Salim the ticket. We can t trust anyone that we didn t know. As I looked at the man he had an innocent aura around him, but I had a feeling he was going to call the guards on us. We stood there for a couple of moments, just staring at each other. Suddenly I could feel the tugging of Salim and Kat. I snapped back into action and started to sprint. I looked back and could see and hear the man shouting. It can t be long before someone comes to get us. Around the corner of the building I could see the guard, presumably Andy running towards us and gaining. The security guard looked as scary as a biker. I dragged Salim to an alleyway with Kat close behind. I jumped up on the fence and tried to vault over it but failed miserably. I could hear it laughing at me like I was a clown in a circus. Scrunched up my face and tried once more. I could hear shouting and glanced behind me to see him getting closer. I finally got over and could see Salim and Kat at the end of the alley. Come on! Salim shouted as he rounded the corner. My chest was heaving by the time I reached them. We ran to the stairway to the subway and peered out to see if Andy had followed us. Andy gave a few glances

  • 35. Case Study 75 Year Old Hypothyroidism Health assessment of 75 year old hypothyroidism patient is a process of collecting and analyzing data. The data obtained from the health assessment guides the family nurse practitioner (FNP) in developing plan of care. The health assessment of an older patient focuses on the health history, physiologic findings, psychological data, functional abilities and cognitive function of the patient (Buttaro, 2012). When assessing an older adult, it is important that the family nurse practitioner (FNP) to be able to distinguish between normal changes of aging and illness. In older adult patients, clinical features of a disorder may present differently than those in younger patients. Sensory deficit, cognitive impairments and functional limitations should be considered when assessing 75 year old hypothyroidism patient. Skillful health assessment techniques and communication skills are required to FNP especially to assess old patients (Buttaro, 2012). In most cases, hypothyroidism is easily treated, however, symptoms of hypothyroidism are often subtle, and hypothyroidism is frequently underdiagnosed resulting in potentially serious consequences such as myxedema coma in elders. Not only was it very informing on past and present economic thought, but it made economic issues seem exiting, ironic, and understandable. He connects economic principles with past and modern events like the fall of communism, global warming, overpopulation, and politics. Issues I didn t even know existed were brought to life for me with his stories. I particularly enjoyed his chapter on the doom and gloomers and the frightening theory that population could increase by such a rate that there will be overcrowding, shortage of food supply and unbearable pollution. I absolutely love how the author includes plenty of personal descriptions about the lives of the great economists we read about. Karl Marx, David Ricardo, Marshall and Maynard Keynes for instance, were very real people. Some were considered unkempt sobs, others so ugly they were called snout by friends, other considered irrational and crazy even by themselves, and others some of the first economists to get rich by understanding and trading stocks. The personality Buchholz brings to the great economic thinkers is fun and very helpful in gaining appreciation as he has for these men. Their ideas and economic philosophy s apply more than one would think in this modern world. And this is the main aspect Buchholz brings to his book; connecting past economic science (and he calls it the science of reason and choices) to issues we face today. When doing so we see these men were spot on in many of their predictions. The author brings up these points simply to show that many of these economic masters do not receive much of the credit they deserve. And by studying the basics of their theory s we can not only see further into the future but learn the doctrines they have been trying to teach us from the beginning. New Ideas from Dead Economists was very descriptive about the ideas of these men and how they apply to us today. As the author states himself The world is materially easier but psychologically more difficult to live in today

It was about meeting the demand. When The Jungle by Upton Sinclair was published in 1906, which revealed the stomach turning ways of the meat packing companies, it caused the people to become enraged. In The Jungle, he uses disturbing visual imagery to describe the filthy conditions of the meat packing industry in Chicago during the progressive era, in order to get the public s attention, henceforth gathering the public along his side to fight for better health codes. In The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, he uses the idea of unhealthy food and no medicine, to counterbalance the chances the meat packing companies are taking, therefore causing a union to reform health codes for the better. In The Jungle, Upton states, It was only when the whole ham was spoiled that it came into the department of Elzbieta. For millennia, terrestrial plant matter, seeds, and driftwood have travelled across the open oceans with the help of surface currents. Even floating islands, also known as tussocks, floatons, or sudds are common in many Florida lakes and across the world (Mallison, C.T., 2001). These islands have been known to carry exotic plants and vertebrate animals. Floating islands promote trans ocean dispersal of marine and terrestrial organisms. This increases biodiversity and helps new barren islands thrive. However, in the last five decades, with the growing number of plastics in the marine environment, the dispersal and occurrence of these organisms has increased exceedingly (Gregory, R.M., 2009). This paves the way for invasions by alien and even aggressive invasive species to establish themselves in new ecosystems beyond their native range. A survey done in 2009 reported that over 150 marine species have established themselves due to marine debris stranded on the shores of northern New Zealand. Most of these organisms were identified as crustaceans. Four of those organisms discovered are featured in figure 3. Teamwork is the central theme in Osmosis Jones, and is developed through the monomyth. The monomyth or hero s journey shows the steps that most movies go through, for example, The Matrix, Harry Potter, and Hunger Games. Most of these stories pass through twelve specific steps. According to Joseph Campbell, in his book, The Hero With a Thousand Faces, The monomyth is a structure that is common in many heroic stories, an outline that has existed for millennia. This story follows the main steps within the monomyth, while each step helps strengthen the theme. Osmosis Jones, the main protagonist, lives his everyday life as a rebellious germ policeman in the mouth. The first step of the monomyth, or his call to adventure is when Frank, the body he is trying to protect, contracts a deadly virus named Thrax. Thinking Thrax was just a common coldFrank consumes a pill called Drixenol. Drixenol, also known as Drix, befriends Jones as they are assigned partners on the cold case. Drix helps fulfill the second step of the monomyth, and becomes Jones assistance. This is where the two join as one and become a team. Although Jones and Drix go through a lot of small trials their first big trial, and the third step of the monomyth, is their encounter with Thrax in the nose. While in Franks nose Thrax turns the pressure pods up which destroys all the walls in his nostril. This causes a runny nose which Jones and Drix struggle to contain. After the nose incident Jones and Drix work together to extract evidence from the old know it all chicken pox influenza. With Jones smooth talking and Drix s big gun they use teamwork to beat the truth out of the old timer. Knowing all about Thrax they set off to find and defeat the menacing virus. Finally, they find Thrax at a new club on Franks forehead named The Zit. As they listen in on Thrax s plan to kill Frank within forty eight hours they are discovered. Through teamwork they destroy The Zit and all the germs within it including Thrax, or so they think. Thrax miraculously survives the explosion and moves forward with his plan to kill Frank.

Age Of Disillusionment Research Paper Peltier 1 William Peltier Mrs. Hitt English III Honors 2nd 30 January 2017 The Age of Disillusionment The Age of Disillusionment can be defined as a time when tragedies such as war and poverty caused many to lose their naГЇve and carefree way of life. During this time, people believed life was dangerous, and they were afraid of what would happen next in their lives. The fear they felt during this time was a result of World War I, World War II, the Great Depression, and the devastation they brought (Hitt). Much like President Woodrow Wilsons War Message to Congress and Phillip Larkin s poem MCMXIV, the Age of Disillusionment was filled with hopelessness and fear as a result of tragic events such as the sinking of the passenger ship, the Lusitania. During this age, people began to question whether they were safe (Hitt). President Wilson says the only way to ensure a safer life and better future for all, was to go to war with Germany. He knew that people would be scared to take such a large risk, and knew that many would die, but he also knew that it must be done. Four days after his speech, the United States of America officially entered World War I (Wilson). The amount of loss that was to come in the war would only lead to Americans being more fearful and the feeling of disillusionment during the age would only grow. As a result, the literary aspect of the Age of Disillusionment flourished and quickly became one of the most influential ages in American
