emphysema (GOLD IV). Lung tissue from individuals with this disease will be

This HBO mini series follows the story of Easy Company U.S. Army 101st
Airborne Division, and their fight from Operation Overload (D Day) to V J Day
(Victory in Japan Day). Directed by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg this is by far
one of, if not the, best modern films to capture World War II. To preface this
critique, I must say it was impossible for me to see this film in person, as it first
aired on HBO in 2001. However, due to my passion for this film I am inspired to
write about this remarkable masterpiece. The series is rated a 9.5/10 by IMBd and
overall regarded among the best historic films produced to date. Additionally, this is
non fiction. Each episode starts with the remaining survivors of Easy Company being
interviewed, giving first person insight into the hardships through which they fought.

Let us say that a little first grade boy is a hyperactive in class and the school s
administration decides to test the boy for either ADD or ADHD, with parental
consent of course. After testing the child is deemed to be ADD and has to be
placed into a classroom where he cannot be a distraction. Can you imagine being
placed into a remedial class for being hyper on day of the year? So now the boy is
learning at a slower pace than his friends are and by the time he reaches fifth grade
the administration decides to retest him. They discover that instead of reading at
the fifth grade level he is reading at the entry level to third grade, so now the boy is
classified as mentally retarded because of the class he was placed into. When to
boy reaches high school he is more likely to drop out than his friends from first
grade. The seniority that the administration holds over a child s life is pitiful. These
people are there to provide a positive learning environment yet they ruin a person s
life at an early age. It needs to be pointed out that these administrations entitle a child
as illiterate when the child has not had the chance to learn the basics in school.

know. Soaps and detergents are one of those things. Acids and bases are
everywhere but, there are two specific types: Sulphuric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide
which we use on a regular day bases. An acid classifies a wide range of materials
including Sulphuric acidand bases Sodium Hydroxide. When manufacturing soaps
they use SodiumHydroxide, and detergents use Sulphuric Acid. But these two can be

more dangerous to humans, but they also place more pressure on the healthcare
system than non resistant strains. Additionally, antibiotics used for growth in food
animals can result in selective pressure, thus increasing resistant strains of bacteria.

When many think of the times of immigration, they tend to recall the Irish
Immigration and with it comes the potato famine of the 1840s however, they forget
that immigrants from the Emerald Isle also poured into America during the late

The city life gave the Irish a chance to continue to stay close to their families and
communities, a chance to help one another out. This strong sense of belonging is
evident in all Irish communities; the upper class would only try to help their own
by giving them jobs or housing. The Irish did not only look to the streets for
sanctuary, but also looked to a higher power. The most important community was
that of the local church. For many, social events at the churches, such as dances and
mixers, were a way for the Irish to unwind and relax. The churches and communities
helped the families of the Irish grow and provided a backbone for the next hundred
years.
The improving times were not just a change for American, but also for the Irish. The
improvement of the economic status of the Irish Americans helped boost family lift
and esprit. Most Irish American families when first arriving in America had little or
no money, thus forcing them to settle in the urban centers of the Northeast. Within
the cities, families were close and revolved around the church, where they practiced
catholic views and preaching against contraception; therefore, many Irish Catholics
had very large families. Consequently, the economic rise of the Irish immigrants
provided families with the money to feed and clothe their large families. In addition,
