Development of High Performance Technology for
Recovery of Ethanol Fuel from Cellulose Containing
Material
The project aims at developing a technology for microbial
conversion of cellulose and lignin (including by using agents based
on acid-resistant strains) to raise softwood biomass utilization rate,
increase sugar output and improve bioethanol production
technology currently employed by BioChemPlant LLC and similar
enterprises.
The main difference of the proposed project is the research of
local bacterial and fungal (mainly micromycete) cultures and
comprehensive study of enzymes involved in softwood lignin-
cellulose complex decomposition,
Completed so far: material conditioning technology was
developed, a collection of cellulose and lignin decomposer strains
was compiled.
Required funding: Euro 50000.
Funds deployment: development of the industrial
bioconversion technology.
End result: a technology for bioconversion of various lignin-
cellulose materials with high sugar output.
Development of Protein Feed Supplements with
Treatment Properties
One of the currently relevant topics in livestock farming is the use of
feed supplements with a probiotic effect for treatment and prevention of
digestive disorders, first of all, in young stock.
The technology proposed uses bran enzymolyzate as substrate for
lactic acid bacteria cultivation. Lactobacillus strains usually found in
intestinal flora of various farm animals and showing effective growth on
bran enzynolyzate are used as probiotic cultures.
The project’s ultimate goal is to obtain symbiotic feed supplements
with treatment properties for various farm animal species using a single
technology based on affordable and widely available materials.
Completed so far: high performance probiotic microorganism
strains were obtained, a laboratory cultivation technology was developed.
Required funding: Euro 50000.
Funds deployment: specifications development, marketing
research, dosage form structuring, industrial cultivation technology
development.
End result: probiotic feed supplement.
Development of an Experimental
Biopreparation Based on Oil Oxidizing
Microorganism for Soil and Water Surface
Bioremediation
The most commonly encountered environment pollutant in oil and
gas industry are hydrocarbon compounds, i.e. crude oil, natural gas
liquid, fuel oil, diesel fuel oil, aircraft fuel, gasoline, kerosene, etc.
The use of technologies based on biopreparations is a promising
pollution elimination technique that ensures high decontamination rate, is
cost effective, simple, reliable and ecofriendly. The aim of the project is
to develop a biopreparation based on oil oxidizing microorganisms.
Completed so far: a oil decomposer strain collection was
compiled, a microorganism immobilization technology using peat carrier
material was developed, pilot batches were produced.
Required funding: Euro 100000.
Funds deployment: marketing research, production of the
preparation in several versions depending on the application
environment (temperature, substrate, etc)
End result: a preparation for elimination of oil spills both on dry
land and in the water.
Plant Material Processing for Production of Dietary
Supplements and Functional Food Products
The project envisages integrated plant material
processing to ensure maximum utilization of almost every
useful and valuable component relying on ecosafe and
sustainable techniques.
So far we have developed a wastefree method for
processing of wild berries and fruits to obtain a wide range of
biologically active preparations. The technology is currently
implemented at a pilot low-output enterprise. In particular, the
following products were obtained from rose hips: tea beverage
with vitamins, pectin-enriched syrup with radioprotection
properties, rose hip oil.
Completed so far: a wastefree method for processing of
wild berries and fruits.
Required funding: Euro 50000.
Funds deployment: marketing research, design of a
series of dietary supplements based on plant ingredients
End result: a series of dietary supplements with
treatment effect.

Production of Nanocomposite Materials
Based on Plant Polysaccharides
A recently discovered interrelation between pectins and their physiological
effect led to development of new plant biopreparations based on pectin
substances for use in medicine, food industry, health and beauty industry and
agriculture.
Polymer systems based on plant polysaccharides (pectin polysaccharides,
galactomannans) and chitosan proved effective as biologically active substance
carriers and controlled release vehicles.
The use of pectin polysaccharides (classified among biological response
modifiers) in production of nanostructured materials can be of interest owing to
their diverse physiological effect.
Project objective: to develop nanocomposites based on pectin
polysaccharides with a known composition and structure and study their use as
antibacterial preparations.
Completed so far: the composition and physiological effect of a number
of pectins recovered from wild and domestic plants were studied, a method for
cultivation of plant cells producing the most valuable pectins was developed.
Required funding: Euro 100000.
Funds deployment: development of pectin-based immune response
modulating preparations, development of a new type of adjuvants that would be
based on pectin-chitosan complex for a wide range of medications
End result: a series of biologically active preparations.
Medical ozone generators
The development allows to implement ozone
therapy in the prevention and treatment of
many diseases, including infectious ones, and
in the beauty industry. Developments in the
field of ozone therapy have been conducting in
the Vyatka State University since 1973.
Several medical ozone generators prototypes
were created already. Medical ozone generator
can generate ozone with a given concentration.
Project phase : prototype is done
Required funding : 50000 euro
Items of expenditure: production licensing, start of
production.
Eventual result: Medical ozone generators
manufacturing production.
Payback period: 2 years.
Lubricating brushes, made on the basis of
molybdenum disulfide
Brush tearing in alternating current commutator
machine limits its operation time. Tearing
depends on the type of brushes, collector
material, sparking level, speed, conductive
brush pressure. Conducted by the
Department of Electrical machinery and
apparatus research have developed a
method of brush tearing reduction by 7-8
times through the use of lubricating brushes,
made ​​on the basis of molybdenum
disulphide.
Project phase: brush prototype is done, solid
lubricant manufacturing technology is
developed.
Required funding : 70000 euro
Items of expenditure: production licensing, start
of production.
Eventual result: Lubricating brushes
manufacturing production.
Payback period: 3 years

  • 2. Development of High Performance Technology for Recovery of Ethanol Fuel from Cellulose Containing Material The project aims at developing a technology for microbial conversion of cellulose and lignin (including by using agents based on acid-resistant strains) to raise softwood biomass utilization rate, increase sugar output and improve bioethanol production technology currently employed by BioChemPlant LLC and similar enterprises. The main difference of the proposed project is the research of local bacterial and fungal (mainly micromycete) cultures and comprehensive study of enzymes involved in softwood lignin- cellulose complex decomposition, Completed so far: material conditioning technology was developed, a collection of cellulose and lignin decomposer strains was compiled. Required funding: Euro 50000. Funds deployment: development of the industrial bioconversion technology. End result: a technology for bioconversion of various lignin- cellulose materials with high sugar output.
  • 3. Development of Protein Feed Supplements with Treatment Properties One of the currently relevant topics in livestock farming is the use of feed supplements with a probiotic effect for treatment and prevention of digestive disorders, first of all, in young stock. The technology proposed uses bran enzymolyzate as substrate for lactic acid bacteria cultivation. Lactobacillus strains usually found in intestinal flora of various farm animals and showing effective growth on bran enzynolyzate are used as probiotic cultures. The project’s ultimate goal is to obtain symbiotic feed supplements with treatment properties for various farm animal species using a single technology based on affordable and widely available materials. Completed so far: high performance probiotic microorganism strains were obtained, a laboratory cultivation technology was developed. Required funding: Euro 50000. Funds deployment: specifications development, marketing research, dosage form structuring, industrial cultivation technology development. End result: probiotic feed supplement.
  • 4. Development of an Experimental Biopreparation Based on Oil Oxidizing Microorganism for Soil and Water Surface Bioremediation The most commonly encountered environment pollutant in oil and gas industry are hydrocarbon compounds, i.e. crude oil, natural gas liquid, fuel oil, diesel fuel oil, aircraft fuel, gasoline, kerosene, etc. The use of technologies based on biopreparations is a promising pollution elimination technique that ensures high decontamination rate, is cost effective, simple, reliable and ecofriendly. The aim of the project is to develop a biopreparation based on oil oxidizing microorganisms. Completed so far: a oil decomposer strain collection was compiled, a microorganism immobilization technology using peat carrier material was developed, pilot batches were produced. Required funding: Euro 100000. Funds deployment: marketing research, production of the preparation in several versions depending on the application environment (temperature, substrate, etc) End result: a preparation for elimination of oil spills both on dry land and in the water.
  • 5. Plant Material Processing for Production of Dietary Supplements and Functional Food Products The project envisages integrated plant material processing to ensure maximum utilization of almost every useful and valuable component relying on ecosafe and sustainable techniques. So far we have developed a wastefree method for processing of wild berries and fruits to obtain a wide range of biologically active preparations. The technology is currently implemented at a pilot low-output enterprise. In particular, the following products were obtained from rose hips: tea beverage with vitamins, pectin-enriched syrup with radioprotection properties, rose hip oil. Completed so far: a wastefree method for processing of wild berries and fruits. Required funding: Euro 50000. Funds deployment: marketing research, design of a series of dietary supplements based on plant ingredients End result: a series of dietary supplements with treatment effect.   • 6. Production of Nanocomposite Materials Based on Plant Polysaccharides A recently discovered interrelation between pectins and their physiological effect led to development of new plant biopreparations based on pectin substances for use in medicine, food industry, health and beauty industry and agriculture. Polymer systems based on plant polysaccharides (pectin polysaccharides, galactomannans) and chitosan proved effective as biologically active substance carriers and controlled release vehicles. The use of pectin polysaccharides (classified among biological response modifiers) in production of nanostructured materials can be of interest owing to their diverse physiological effect. Project objective: to develop nanocomposites based on pectin polysaccharides with a known composition and structure and study their use as antibacterial preparations. Completed so far: the composition and physiological effect of a number of pectins recovered from wild and domestic plants were studied, a method for cultivation of plant cells producing the most valuable pectins was developed. Required funding: Euro 100000. Funds deployment: development of pectin-based immune response modulating preparations, development of a new type of adjuvants that would be based on pectin-chitosan complex for a wide range of medications End result: a series of biologically active preparations.
  • 7. Medical ozone generators The development allows to implement ozone therapy in the prevention and treatment of many diseases, including infectious ones, and in the beauty industry. Developments in the field of ozone therapy have been conducting in the Vyatka State University since 1973. Several medical ozone generators prototypes were created already. Medical ozone generator can generate ozone with a given concentration. Project phase : prototype is done Required funding : 50000 euro Items of expenditure: production licensing, start of production. Eventual result: Medical ozone generators manufacturing production. Payback period: 2 years.
  • 8. Lubricating brushes, made on the basis of molybdenum disulfide Brush tearing in alternating current commutator machine limits its operation time. Tearing depends on the type of brushes, collector material, sparking level, speed, conductive brush pressure. Conducted by the Department of Electrical machinery and apparatus research have developed a method of brush tearing reduction by 7-8 times through the use of lubricating brushes, made ​​on the basis of molybdenum disulphide. Project phase: brush prototype is done, solid lubricant manufacturing technology is developed. Required funding : 70000 euro Items of expenditure: production licensing, start of production. Eventual result: Lubricating brushes manufacturing production. Payback period: 3 years
