«Multifunctional hybrid peer-to-access with latency
access rankings for broadband multimedia data
broadcasting»
Subject
In 2012 Department of Automatics and Remote Control have started working in
the new subject:
Information delivery methods to
Internet users
Client

Bypass of limits, connected with finite bandwidth server
communication channels, due to a more uniform traffic
distribution across the network;
Network reliability increasing, due to multiple duplication;
Network significant cost reduction by reducing or eliminating
dedicated servers and high-speed communication channels;
More efficient use of network participants resources;
Network participants partial anonymization.
Decentralized peer to
peer networks
advantages
File-sharing:
Bittorrent
Direct Connect
Edonkey2000
Gnutella
Main types of
peer to peer networks
Distributed
computing:
Folding@home
Rosetta@home
SETI@home
Bitcoin
Streaming
broadcasting:
SopCast
TorrentStream
Protocol RTMFP
P2P
Even in 2007 74% of Internet traffic fell on peer to peer networks
Peer to peer networks
importance
Existing peer to peer networks limitations
Even in Russia, many users already have access channels 1 Gbit/s,
which opens up to peering networks new opportunities.
Existing solutions do not provide the growing demand for
interactive «live» delivery of multimedia data, including
those associated with the growing popularity of various
mobile devices.
Thus, development of multi-functional hybrid peer to peer network with
latency access rankings for broadband multimedia data broadcasting is
relevant and promising task, which allows to improve quality of multimedia
data access.
Existing P2P technologies in various subject areas
are quite fragmented, that leads to fragmentation
and reducing network reliability.
Financial backing
Expected outcomes in accordance with the grant agreement:
• Number of graduate students - performers of research work, presented
dissertations to the Dissertation Board = 1;
• Number of students, graduate students, PhD students and young
researchers, enshrined in the sphere of science, education and high-tech
= 2;
• Number of researchers - performers of research work, whose results will
be published in the top-rated Russian and foreign channels = 4;
• Scientific and educational courses development = 2;
• Popular science materials development = 1.
This work was supported by a grant of the Federal
Target Program "Research and scientific-pedagogical
personnel of innovative Russia"
Ongoing results
• Analytical review of the scientific literature, regulatory and
technical documentation;
• Chosen research method objectivation;
• Математическая модель многофункциональной гибридной
пиринговой сети.
Program-methodical documentation:
• Classification and analysis of modern technology peer to peer
networks performed in terms of capacity delivery of multimedia
content in real time;
• Proposed and justified a new application solution in the area
of peer to peer networks, formalized in the form of a
mathematical model.

Practical application
New type of peer to peer networks, based on the optimization of latency
streaming multimedia data deployment;
Improving the efficiency, reliability, quality of access to the various categories
of multimedia content in global networks;
Supported network should become one of the components of national
software platform;
This project doesn’t stipulate for commercialization, because such projects
tend to have successful and widely spread, while develope as an open and
free software.
Project future development
Project future development is
possible within the international
community of open and free software
(open-source, free software).
By now As part of these informal
communities had been successfully
developed a significant number of
projects that have a significant impact
on IT industry and techno sphere
development.
