Two members of the UMass Medical School web team presented on creating virtual reality campus tours using inexpensive hardware and free software. They demonstrated using a 360-degree camera, iPad, tripod, and HTML editing tools to create VR tours of the campus and labs that could be viewed on desktop browsers, mobile devices, or Google Cardboard headsets. Feedback on the tours from faculty was positive, noting how professional and attention-grabbing they were. The presenters also discussed using holograms and Microsoft HoloLens for three-dimensional projections.
