Microsoft Hololens is an untethered holographic computer that uses augmented reality to allow users to see holograms overlaid on the real world in 3D without being isolated from it. It uses cameras, lenses, and sensors to track hand gestures and eye movements to interact with holograms and navigate the augmented reality interface. Some key features include exploring places virtually, gaming in 3D, and creating virtual objects that can be manipulated in space.
3. INTRODUCTION
• It is a new way to see the world around you .
• Different from google glasses and Facebook oculus, actually it is combination
of both.
• Microsoft support Augmented reality.
• Completely untethered means no wire, phones or connection to a PC required
• In virtual world users are advised to stay seated but HoloLens with AR feature
Doesn’t move the user to the simulated world .
4. MICROSOFT HOLOLENS
• First holographic computer supported by windows 10 with APIs which are
used for performing different functions gaze, gesture, voice, and
environmental understanding on an untethered device.
5. HOLO-GRAM
• An object which is visualize
as physical object, but it is
made up of light.
• Can be viewed at different
angles with no physical
resistance
• We can interact wit
holograms like we interact
with other people
6. AUGMENTED REALITY IN HOLOLENS
Augment Reality
• Computer-generated enhancements atop an
existing reality
• There is no isolation between real world and
virtual world
• AR uses smart phones and wearable sensors
• GPRS obtain the information about the
geographical location.
Virtual Reality
• Computer-generated simulation or recreation of
a real life environment or situation
• An isolation between real world and virtual
world
• VR works better for Video games and social
networking in Virtual environment.
• HMD blocks out all the external world from the
viewer
8. HOW DOES HOLOLENS WORK
Camera: Hololens equipped with depth camera where FOV is 120 degree, so
that it can sense hands when it stretch out.
Computer: Contains CPU,battery,GPU and HPU
Lenses : Photons are bounce around millions of times and finally enters the two
lenses where it create holo-lens image.
Vent : Warm air vents out from this section
9. ”
“Interface with user
Microsoft HoloLens provide three different interface with user and all of them are very interactive
Gesture : Grasp and manipulate the holographic objects
Voice : Microphones in the device capture voice commands
Gaze : Sensors track the wearer eye and adjust the display accordingly
13. CONCLUSION
• Holographic computing experience is different from existing
technologies like AR and VR
• A spectacle based technology which reside on your eyes
rather than in pockets
• Very light and reliable, therefore can be used in battlefield to
give instruction to the soldiers.
• Open API gives the opportunity for developers to build more
interactive apps
Hologram have no physical resistance because they are free from mass. So that means we cannot feel or we cannot touch. In iron man USE java sript and webgl by using leap motion using the finger motion
