This report discusses the use of video conferencing in distance education. It defines video conferencing as conducting a conference between participants in different locations using computer networks to transmit audio and video. The objectives of using video conferencing in distance education are to save travel time and expenses, increase an instructor's audience, and maintain interaction between teachers and students. Some schools currently use video conferencing for traditional courses, guest speakers, multi-school collaboration, and virtual field trips. The report also outlines features, advantages, limitations, and concerns of using video conferencing for distance education.
