What has been done?
• Video Captioning Guideline
– Schools and departments are encouraged to caption any online videos that meet ALL THREE
of the following criteria:
• Durable content (e.g.,content that will be archived for future availability to the public)
• That advances academic learning; and
• Is posted to the Internet by the University or one of its Schools / Centers
– Schools should also accommodate any special need requests from their student body
• Harvard University Preferred Video Captioning Vendor Selection
– Evaluated / Compared a few vendors (3Play Media, Cielo24, WGBH, ACS Captioning, Zen
Captioning) in the following areas:
• Accuracy / Turnaround Time
• Cost
• Ease of use / Workflow
• Integration with other video platforms
• Types of services available
• Support
