The Advanced Distribution Management System – ADMS – brings together distribution management system (DMS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and outage management system (OMS) technologies , along with control room applications, on one, secure platform with a single user interface. With this comprehensive mission critical solution, the electric utility can monitor, analyze and control the distribution network to improve the level and quality of service.
At its core is the network model representing the as-operated state and based on the as-built state defined by the geographic information system (GIS). A load flow algorithm responds quickly to data sourced from throughout the network to analyze the balanced, unbalanced and dynamically changing network in real time. Users across the network – operators, dispatchers, management, planning engineers and others – have consistent visualization of model results in geographic, schematic and single-line diagram views. State estimation validates viewed data and estimates non-telemetered points to achieve a complete network representation.
With this accurate network model and a portfolio of robust functionalities, the utility is empowered with continuous, real-time analysis of the operational state of the network that enables self-healing capabilities. Demand can be managed through reduction of technical losses; by forecasting near-term load and applying volt/VAR control for peak shaving; and by securely integrating and managing distributed energy resources, including energy storage, to flatten the daily load curve. These and other options enabled by ADMS are key to managing demand in the face of increasing energy usage, surging energy costs and network infrastructure instability due to aging.
The ADMS represents the evolution of control room technology that will help utilities mobilize to meet increasing consumer demand and environmental obligations and reap many of the benefits all stakeholders expect from their smart grid investments.
We develop custom Image Recognition systems for Aerospace and defence applications. Using algorithms like Deep Convolutional Neural Networks and Regional Convolutional Neural Networks.

Many biosolids feedstocks contain sulfur naturally. Unfortunately, sulfur is no friend to emissions permits, waste handling, or many catalysts used in industrial biotechnologies. Learn three options for removal.
Material handling is a complex part of any industrial biotechnology process. Take a look at the following guidelines to help identify the right pathway for technology selection.
Hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) is a process that converts wet waste streams into biooil by heating them under high pressure and temperature conditions. This allows organic materials in the waste to break down into biooil and gases while inorganic materials precipitate out. The process has been studied since the 1920s and tested at pilot scale in recent decades. It shows potential to process over 120 million tons of wet wastes in the US annually into biofuels equivalent to over 15 billion gallons of gasoline. However, further work is needed to commercialize HTL by reducing capital costs, improving energy recovery, processing precipitates and biooil upgrading before HTL can widely provide a renewable alternative to waste disposal and liquid fuels.
The document discusses estimating the total installed cost (TIC) for instrumentation in bioderived process plants. It notes that pilot and demonstration plants for novel technologies may require more customized and complex instrumentation that is difficult to estimate using traditional factor-based methods. The Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE) tool does not use factored costs for instrumentation and allows the user to select the level of instrumentation detail in the estimate. For highly accurate estimates, the instrumentation design should be shown on Piping and Instrumentation Drawings and the ACCE customized accordingly. Specialty analyzers and monitoring systems also require specific costing.

The document provides an example of how D&RA could be applied to selecting a core technology and optimal plant size for a front-end biotechnology design package.
This document discusses how the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) knowledge areas can be applied to industrial biotechnology projects. While industrial biotechnology projects involve new technologies, fundamental project execution practices are still needed. The document shows how topics important for industrial biotechnology projects, such as confidentiality, safety, security, and change control, align with the ten PMBOK knowledge areas. It presents a table of contents for a typical industrial biotechnology project execution plan and maps it to the relevant PMBOK knowledge areas. This addresses whether the PMBOK knowledge areas are applicable to industrial biotechnology projects and whether any important areas are missing.
The document provides tips for ensuring a technology's waste water treatment (WWT) system does not hinder innovation. It recommends:
1. Collecting representative water samples during scale up and having an expert lab analyze them.
2. Identifying the plant location as early as possible due to varying permit requirements in different jurisdictions.
3. Engaging a WWT vendor early and providing sample analyses and discharge requirements to help determine true costs.
4. Writing a clear performance specification so the vendor understands the unique process objectives.
5. Engaging an engineering, procurement, and construction firm early to integrate the WWT system and ensure sufficient space allocation.
